I did the Best Friend Experience for 2 here and I literally had the experience of a lifetime. Ogi was the sweetest, most knowledgeable candle teacher I have ever had 😄 It was so fun picking out fragrances, playing games, drinking wine, and getting even closer with my friend! I can't wait to take another class. My best advice: trust your nose 😉

This class was the absolute best! I took a friend from out of town here and she had such a great time. We got to learn so much about candles (in a fun way I promise) and enjoyed a night filled with laughter and games. Our instructor Ogi was great. She made sure there was no awkward silence and talked to us like she’s known us for years. I would absolutely recommend this class to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing activity. You won’t regret it!

We booked this as a team building retreat for 23 people and Ogi and Nichelle went above and beyond putting together a spectacular and personalized experience! Our group had so much fun learning about different scents and creating our own personalized candles and lotion with those scents. The time just flew by and everyone only had good things to say. We can't wait to get our candles in the mail and will definitely be coming back!

She is so patient, informative, respectful, knowledgeable and she does not hold back. Her energy was just different, warm and welcoming. She went above and beyond to make sure I had everything to start my business. She even gave me a few things I didn’t have, went beyond the time scheduled just to make sure all my questions and concerns were attended to. I had a great experience learning about the essential oils and candle making process. The vibe was good. I felt like there were more rules than what I expected. For example, I couldn’t talk to my friend who’s experiencing it with me. I would do this again. The teacher was pleasant and knowledgeable.

We came to the couple’s candle making class and it was far above what I had expected. The hostess OG was absolutely warm and welcoming. Making the candles was fun and interesting as well as very personal. But the warmth of the overall experience was what makes this so very very special. I highly recommend this for couples that love romance.

et me start by saying, this was such a great experience. I've never made candles before, so I was a bit worried. Ogi, made sure the candle making experience was "above average". When we arrived, we were greeted with champagne. We also ended up making massage oils as well. We had no idea that was included, but it was so nice making candles and making oils. Throughout this entire experience may favorite thing was checking in with my significant partner. Ogi created icebreakers to build the connection/emphasize your relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend. Overall we had such a great time, and I would HIGHLY recommend this class if you're looking for a date night, or just want to make candles.

We reserved the couples candle making class for our 3 year anniversary. We were looking for something different to do and thought it might be fun. And we were not disappointed. From the time we walked in to the time we left everything was above average. The ambiance was beautiful, very warm and welcoming. There was soft music playing in the background and chilled wine. The owner greeted us at the door with amazing, positive energy and assured us that my partner and I would get closer as the night went on. She was so knowledgeable about fragrances and the candle making process. We played a couple of games and had light snacks. We learned so much and had so much fun! We highly recommend this place if you’re looking for new experiences!

10 stars! I attended the couples candle making class — and yes, it was #thebestdatenightever. The actual candle making process itself could be summed up in 20 minutes but that’s not the point. The host’s expertise and warmth truly makes this experience what it is, and you get way more out of this class than just your candle. I had the chance to learn about how scents mix together, eco conscious candle making and I was smiling and laughing the entire time. OG makes it an inviting experience for all. Highly recommend this class and studio.

Oh my goodness!! A group of us went to celebrate a birthday and we had a blast!! We were able to bring cake and the host had popcorn and sparkling cider. We had games, music and great conversation. It was a wonderful time. We made candles and massage oil. Definitely coming back!!

I was looking for a fun date night idea and came across this business on Google. So I looked it up on Groupon and booked a reservation. The couples candle class sounded so much fun, little did I know what was in store. Ogi is wonderful. Her spirit is welcoming and warm. Not to mention she has a bomb playlist lol. The setup was nice. You’re welcome to a bottle of wine that comes with the booking. The activities and ice breakers are great for couples who would love to get more in tune with one another. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing. She guides you through the process of making a candle and she is very knowledgeable about her passion and what she does. I want to book another class already. This was the perfect date night. I highly recommend. Ogi you have a lifetime customer.

Just the Two of Us- Couples Candle Making Class We Had A Time Last Night! Above Average was chosen as the shared experience for our wedding anniversary, it was also perfect for our date night! Above Average was chosen for many reasons: Black Owned, Location, Intimacy, Class Size, Natural Products, Price. Our experience went well over what was expected. The vibe inside of the studio was perfect (intimate, homey feel, plants, smelled wonderful, music playing). The mood was set. We were greeted with such hospitality by Ogi and she gave it throughout the entire night. Ogi is very knowledgeable, funny, thoughtful and good at what she does. Not only did we have a phenomenal hands on experience while creating our candles, we learned many other lessons that we weren’t expecting to learn. The experience was so touching that we have looked into taking some of the other classes that she offers. I HIGHLY recommend spending time with Ogi at her studio, she will not disappoint and you will leave full! Thank you for our experience!

We happen to be the last class of the evening and it small, Ogi is truly a master of her craft! Listen, when I tell you this Start Your Own Candle Business class is the "BUSINESS". From start to finish instructions were very well paced for beginners. My experience was just ok. The class was given by someone other than Ogi and seemed to lack some of the candle knowledge. Most of the course was instructed from the instructors phone. The cost for 2 people was $130 and it was not worth it at all. I could have You Tubed what I learned and gone to a good restaurant instead. Note: I originally did rate it very well but only because I was asked to rate during the class and felt awkward saying, no. Would I recommend? No Would I return? No

A little over a week ago my sister was here visiting from out town. I took on the task of being our event planner and started googling places to go and things to do. I must say,I came across some great finds but when I found this place we struck gold!!! Ogi knows her stuff and her studio is really nice. She's very informative,personable,and extremely fun. The short times while waiting for the wax to cool or heat up she had a couple of games for us to play ,she provided a few snacks,and we were able to talk and ask any questions we had. We had so much fun at Ogi's class. The 90 minutes ended in the blink of an eye, and I can't wait to return to do this again. We learned a lot about picking scents based on the way they made us feel, and for her Valentine's classes she really did a great job of getting people to open up to the class and each other.
