Reviews of Cheyenne Botanic Gardens
This is such a beautiful place to stop. We were here in November and toured the inside. Now again today in May on a day it was closed but we still enjoyed touring the outdoors areas. Cheyenne is very fortunate to have a botanical garden. I envy the people who get to propagate and work with plants on a daily basis. You have the best jobs. 💚
I am speechless. This place blew me away! So many different types of plants. I just loved loved it! They even had the cutest little fairy garden! Ugh! It is the perfect place to visit if you are a plant person!
Wonderful botanical gardens! Did not expect to see banana trees, cocao trees, orchids, etc in Cheyenne WY, in October... It's free. I was pleasantly surprised.
And the facilities are great! Restrooms and water fountains.
This is a beautiful place to go with both indoor and outdoor gardens. Great venue for attending workshops or getting pictures taken. The inside is warm and inviting, great for the cold fall days to soak up some green time. Definitely a must see.
Absolutely beautiful inside the building and out. There are three levels inside and it's full of all kinds of plants and flowers, my favorite part was some of the artwork displayed in the gardens they allow professional photo pricing so you can use as a location for a photography shoot. Outside they have a little walking path and the children's village. My son husband and I have gone twice already we love to just look at the wildlife and gorgeous plants.
Super cute botanical garden that is FREE and open all year! Staff is very friendly, and the plants are very nicely taken care of. Some cool views upstairs and a nice place to stay warm in during the winter!
Loved this place. It was a awesome experience and they even have a live turtle and birds. People were friendly. Learned something just astonishing about the plants around us. Even got a Christmas cactus from the shop!
Edit due to the sign I forgot to mention:
Btw I am not showing these photos for money. They have a sign in the front of there inside entrance. Saying something like this. This isn't a ad.
Definitely come here and walk around the three floors of tropical plants. Great little garden setting and also outdoor plants to look at. See if you can find the beautiful bird that I took a picture of.
This botanic gardens is a lovely place to spend an hour or two walking around and enjoying the beauty of nature. We visited early in the year before some of the outdoor plants had grown and bloomed, but it was still quite nice.
This Botanical garden is superb. It is free! Lovely outside gardens and 3 levels inside beautifully groomed and arranged with different climate plants. Go walk thru the labyrinth!
We're very excited to visit the Botanical garden. The kids did really like playing at children's village. We definitely will be back soon.
The conservatory was small, but beautiful. Free to enter. There are well groomed paths, behind the main building, with lots to see.
Great for a free experience if you like plants. The children area is full of butterfly gardens and interesting interactive activities for the young ones.
Small but beautiful ,many different varieties of plants, more to do in warmer weather as you can go outside. Staff is very friendly, worth stopping in
I didn't take many pictures or walk the outside garden areas because it was a bit too hot for us. The staff I doors were helping direct us. Honestly wasn't what I expected since I'm from an area with 3 lg greenhouse domes to walk through but for a smaller scale indoor tropical garden it wasn't to bad.
Amazing! There are so many types of plants to see, you could easily spend a couple of hours here! Great staff and wheelchair accessible, though you have to be careful of some of the door frames. Definitely a fantastic experience!
We stopped in for our first time and were very pleasantly surprised. It's very well laid out and the diversity of plants is amazing!
Beautiful place to visit if you are just passing through. ITS FREE! first Botanical gardens that I’ve ever been to that is free. Did you ask for donations but it’s totally worth to throw a few dollars in their plastic jar. I walked up the three stories of plants and went outside to the children’s area and even got a chance to do a tomato class at 4 PM today.
This place is incredible and entry is free! This is my go to when I need some self care, or just a nature experience away from the frosty Wyoming wind. What a gift to the city of Cheyenne!
If you’re into plants you have stop here!! The staff are super friendly, and the plants are incredible. We will definitely be coming back when we’re in the area 🙂 …
Was expecting more but was amazed at how many plants, flowers and bushes they have. Beautiful place to visit. Educational and pleasant.
The indoor Christmas decorating was very nice. We enjoyed our night time stroll.
I really enjoyed my visit to the Botanic Gardens. Informative, clean and comfortable atmosphere.
Very nice. Especially the kids area. Lots of families using the space.
It is so cool to look around and it is free admission and parking.
This is truly a Cheyenne gem! It is so well done and great for anyone who needs a reprieve from everyday stress!
A fantastic botanic garden for a city of this size, or any size really. A beautiful, well-designed, low water crevice garden graces the front entrance. The greenhouse conservatory is large with multiple viewing levels and contains a wide variety of super cool tropical and semitropical plants. The whole facility is well designed and laid out, clean and with friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Beautiful gardens given the size and location of Cheyenne. I don’t understand why the gardens have any bad reviews, they’re honestly one of the prettiest places around town. They’re gardens, sometimes the flowers bloom and sometimes they don’t. This is a lovely place available to our community and I thoroughly enjoy walking here every season. The indoor space has really progressed and every time I visit I see a new plant or installation. The outdoor gardens are pleasant to stroll through even in the colder seasons because of all the evergreens. I imagine that the children’s area would be endlessly entertaining for kids. There are many interactive components and even a “secret garden.” Nice structures, ample benches throughout the park, enough light in the evenings, and maintained sidewalks. It’s lovely for both visitors and residents.
It's free, and it's nice for a casual leisure walk through
If the rolling grassy hills and rocky mountains of Southern Wyoming aren't your thing, as they aren't mine, this is a wonderful escape into some greenery. The staff is awesome, the facility is very modern but doesn't feel in the least like walking through an Apple store, it's FREE TO THE PUBLIC, and they have art :) I came in the winter, while the pond was frozen and the outdoor plants were all dormant, but it was still nice to walk around. Several people were walking dogs and jogging even at this time of year
Beautiful botanical garden, despite its short time of operation, already receives many visitors, particularly children, who enjoy the variety of plants and flowers from other latitudes.
The facilities are being expanded to provide more exhibits and spaces for learning.
Great spot for family fun. My child loved walking through the inside. It was snowing so we were not able to walk around outside but we plan to return in the summer to try it out.
This place is a step into the peace we all need as adults. The new indoor gardens (just renovated!) are ţranquil and tasteful. Then there is the Children's Village, a separate area filled with cool devices like an Archmedies water screw, playable hammer chimes and a hidden garden, to name a few. And when the kiddos need to burn off energy there's a full playground in the park, swings, climbing gym, slides, just the place to be energetic and happy. So if you're just passing through Cheyenne and need to stretch your legs, you want to eat your takeout with a nice backdrop or you want a peaceful place to take a walk I highly recommend you visit, you'll be glad you did.
I agree with the city - this is the crown jewel of Cheyenne. I came here in early June just after a huge hailstorm. Even with the hail damage (and profuse apologies for the mess) it was beautiful and truly a gem of an attraction for the city.
Beautiful botanic gardens. Entry fee is donation based, so make sure to bring some cash. They have three floors full of magnificent plants and the building is wheelchair accessible with an elevator.
What a great place to visit. We went in winter, so our visit was confined to the Grand Conservatory. Best of all, it's FREE! Can't wait to return during the summer to explore the outdoor areas.
Free admission and a great place to spend a few minutes. We only went inside, on the first floor due to Covid closing the other floors. We didn't walk the whole grounds outside as it was winter. I'd love to go back after Covid restrictions lift and it's a little warmer.
Beautiful. Tranquil. Fun for kids. There is a Koi fish pond though, so watch young ones. As of today, 3/20/21 only 1st floor is open. There are other floors, outside exhibits, and a children's play area. The museum also backs up to a public park. Excellent.
Absolutely incredible. Beautiful and well laid out with a great diversity. Super friendly staff. A great outdoor area as well. Lots of available events and classes.
Staff was friendly and informative. What a neat location! This place is such a neat spot and the kids area is FANTASTIC. Bonus points for being FREE! There was a yarn bombing event when we visited which was an extra special treat! We had so much fun walking the grounds.
It's beautiful! I ran into it by mistake. I went to my grandsons graduation and ended up in the wrong place. This is how I ended up in this amazing place.
The Botanic is a gem in Cheyenne. I don't know how we rated such an amazing garden. Be sure to check out the bonsai collection on the third floor and visit the outdoor section by the gazebo.
A beautiful experience! I went yesterday around 12. I wish I could remember the name of the Lady at the front desk, her attitude and smile made my day, especially when she said they were growing bananas in the Garden! She was so lovely. The place is beautiful, I loved the first floor (Tropical conservatory and water feature), seeing all the plants that grow in tropical environment and the beautiful animals. Thanks for this amazing place.
Stopped here on our short visit and enjoyed it so much! Indoors is pretty with all the plants and water features. My favorite was the grounds outside. The different gardens (rose, plants in urns, variety of trees, meditation garden and small fountain) were really nice to wander through and spend time watching bees, butterflies and birds. Highly recommend... Oh, and it's free!
The Botanic Gardens are such a beautiful place to spend the afternoon. It's free, and there's a lot to see! There are three floors in the main building, and a couple of outdoor areas to see and spend time in. I think this is a great place to take your kids or whole family. They have great hours and wonderful staff. I highly recommend the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.
The new Botanic Gardens is absolutely stunning! We went during a stained glass exhibit and it made the gardens even that much cooler to see! It's nice that admission is free and staff is very kind and helpful. It's a beautiful place to sit and relax.
Great experience! 3 stories to explore inside. The plant life was beautiful! Beautiful layout. Small fairy garden downstairs that our daughter loved. Upstairs, there were a few classrooms that explained how light shines through a claidoscope but only open on certain days. We were there on a Sunday and it was closed. Some beautiful art in the hallways. A gorgeous outdoor area/overlook on the 3rd floor.
It's winter time so it's nice to be able to come here and enjoy the beauty of the gardens indoors. Such a treat! What a beautiful and amazing place.
We so enjoyed walking around the gardens. We enjoyed seeing your botanical names of the plants. We enjoyed your hospitality and took much pleasure in how you addressed us as guests first time to the gardens. I enjoyed walking bare foot in the snow on the garden roof. Such a pleasure to enjoy good people and good places.
Great place in Cheyenne potential of great success & growth in the future. Many events ie. Weddings, celebrations, great caterers & the staff is always friendly. My sister works here as well so 👻 …
Absolutely beautiful, we were only able to go on the outside but it was still worth the trip.
There were three adults and one child and our group and all of us had a wonderful time. We loved seeing all of the plants indoors and the brook with the fish in it also indoors. Outdoors was very pretty and we really had a good time in the kids area hunting for hidden monsters. We loved all the attractions that they had for the kids like some teepees, a pond with a bridge and a secret garden. The staff was very good in helping the kids when they couldn't find some of the little monsters way up in the trees. This is also a very beautiful area for a wedding venue.
Love this place. I haven't lived in cheyenne for very long but this is my go to to get outdoors and enjoy nature!
Loved this botanic building. Very nicely done. Also enjoyed the indoor creek and fish. Was winter so we couldnt experience the outdoor space. Will go back in spring.
I cannot sing highly enough about the gardens. This is a must see. The childrens garden is amazing. It offers something for everyone. Have a picnic. Relax and read a book or just relax. Best of all is it is free. They have the lake near. Wonderful walking paths. Explore the grounds. This is a must see.
We always have so much fun looking around. The kids love the fairies and the fish! I love that its handicap accessible and the volunteers are always friendly. The water bottle filling water fountain is pretty cool and I love that I don't have to bring two bottles or buy one there! We will continue to visit and support the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens.
Easy relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, beautiful flowering gardens....loved it highly recommend.
Gorgeous gardens, huge greenhouse, what more can I say? This is an amazing place to visit!
Do you like tropical plants?
Do you like humid air?
Do you like specialty gardening?
If you answered "yes" to one or more of the above, & didn't answer "no" to any, I highly recommend visiting this facility.
Beautiful grounds on the outside, wasn't able to go inside as it was closed. Handicap accessible parking and trails. Enjoy a leisurely stroll, pets welcome outside just not indoors.
You won't get bored. A lily pond, a lake, another pond, an explore area, the green house, the mini trails, the gazebo, the bridge, the tree house, and a very large park. A lot to look at and explore. Amazing for photos.
A beautiful new addition to the recreation areas of Cheyenne. The building is spectacular on the inside and out, as well as beautiful plants on the inside and out. It already looks amazing, and I believe will be better yet once more plants are added.
Here are a few pictures I took of the interior of the Conservatory at Cheyenne Botanical Gardens. This was my first visit since the opening of the Conservatory and I am impressed. This is a quality facility that all of Cheyenne should be proud of. Congratulations to Shane, the staff and all the volunteers who made this facilty possible.
What a beautiful place! It was awesome to walk around and see all of the different plants. I think my favorite area was the tropical section!
Beautiful place to spend the day! Family friendly and the garden is well preserved!
Beautiful gardens, was free to get in, had a children's garden, and nice little gift shop.
I wonder what kinda plants those are?
Where'd they come from?
Where can I get one?
What kinda fish are in the pond?
I got my questions answered in a very professional and friendly manner.
I asked my folks and they unprofessionally told me to quit being so nosey.
Even grandma (with the Green-finger) could be bothered 😕.
She even asked me if I knew how to read.
Duh,like yeah.
She said, read the D'xxx labels.
So, I quit asking and starting looking and reading the labels ,really enjoyed myself.
Gorgeous park! Really appreciate they have a few RV parking spots, I was able to spend a lovely afternoon here, thank you for being pup friendly!
Attended an after-hours reception, experienced little of the Botanic Gardens. What I did see was beautiful and very informative. I will visit again during business hours.
A very pleasant botanical gardens in Cheyenne. Lots of flowers outside. Tropical plants inside. Main bldg is only 3 years old.
Wonderful little oasis. I went in the winter so not a lot was growing out but the solarium and orangarie was wonderful. Cant wait time come back again soon
Not a huge place but one of the most well tended. Beautiful. If you have the opportunity to go, do it!
The most beautiful September day I’ve ever experienced in all of my September’s. Beautiful, peaceful gardens in the most beautiful state I’ve visited in the United States. Truly one of my most special memories is here.
My friends had a wedding there it was beautiful great the girls were awesome they very much accommodated as very well I would recommend having a wedding there if there is something that somebody is interested in
Cheyenne's Jewel!! Lucky to have such a great facility here. Has a big town feel. Need to go there more often.
One of my favorite places to go when I am visiting family in Cheyenne wyoming. I love all of the different plants and the size of the fish in the ponds! My nephew loves to come here all of the time so its great to enjoy something i love with him. The banana trees had bunches of fruit and the air was very nice. Overall I recommend everyone visit their local botanical gardens. I even got the inspiration to grow a monstresa plant in my house! They have rotating showcases and kids entertainment as well. We saw a bonsai exhibit that was very interesting.
Beautiful as always! We greatly appreciated the fact that th gentleman at the desk made sure our dogs were actual service dogs!! No one in town does that and we always run into fakes that cause issues for our dogs. So we appreciate him doing that! I will say I was a little disappointed that there was a section on the second floor where we could not take our dogs because the grate would hurt their paws. Other then that we enjoyed the whole experience!
Great place to visit on a cold winter day. Beautiful facility Well worth the drive.
Beautiful area. Free admission, donations welcome. Staff very welcoming and friendly!
I love this place, I always recommend it to people that are passing through Cheyenne! It’s a great place to take kids. The admission is free and unfortunately due to Covid there isn’t any seating. But before Covid it was great to sit and draw or have a coffee. I found a salamander in between the plants, and there’s supposed to be a turtle or tortoise in there somewhere. Also, the pond/creak is super cool, watching the fish is nice.
For being free, this is a super nice facility! Not a huge garden but it is better than nothing! The indoor plant area is cool!
A lovely little garden in Cheyenne! I only wish the labeling for the plants was better, many seemed not to be labeled at all.
Beautiful place lots of friendly and informative staff to answer any questions along the way highly recommend to anyone it's completely free to enter and Amy and all donations are extremely helpful to help expand and maintain this awe inspiring place.
Wish I would have taken some pictures
This is a great place just to relax and to take your lunch to eat. I like the fish and the birds in the Grand Conservatory. I could spend all day here just to escape for awhile.
Can't do better than free. Beautiful indoor, out door, and kids garden. Had a great time.
It’s so beautiful and nice the staff are really nice and we found so many cool things definitely a place to bring a camera!!
The city of Cheyenne should be very proud to maintain these beautiful plants at no cost to visitors.
Enjoyable, small gardens. Great for families! Nice detour on a road trip.
Absolutely stunning. A wonderful experience. It will be great for the winter. There was tons of sunlight and a wide variety of tropical plants.
Review is for the Childrens Village as we didn't get to go inside:
So cute and beautiful! Great place for any age. My 3 and 4 year old LOVED seeing all the flowers and the statues and being able to get in the water with the big gold fish (I think that's what they are) I wish there were more places like this.
It was a nice walk and it’s free they are currently doing some up keep but still great to get out with the kids!!
Beautiful flowers, walking paths and best of all it's free!
Peace, beauty and calm
Beautiful garden with a wide variety of tropicals and even koi! Periscope/ telescope on second floor to view the entire area.
Ever changing, but always beautiful and peaceful. Currently hosting the sculpture of Dan Ostermiller and yarn art sponsored by Ewe Count.
Really fun, beautiful and most importantly FREE botanical gardens. Have a picnic by the little lake, it's really nice over there.
Wonderful location to visit and enjoy a walk near the lake or through the gardens. Free admission, which is rare for botanical gardens, and features a kids' garden with interactive displays. The front desk worker is super friendly and has great suggestions. Overall, fantastic stop if you are in the Cheyenne area, especially if you want to get out of the car and stretch.
Had a great time here with my family while they were visiting from out of town. Will have to come back again!
I could have spent hours here. So beautiful and relaxing
This is a wonderful botanical garden. It's free to everyone and has a peaceful, beautiful atmosphere. There are seasonal events that go on throughout the year as well. I highly recommend visiting there.
Beautiful wonderful visit. And free, so please provide a donation to keep it open. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable, well worth the visit. We spent 2 to 3 hours walking around. If your 14 years old, may be 20 minutes lol.
Amazing just beautiful what they have done and its free to the public, donations help though.
Great place for the whole family. Newly added conservatory is amazing. Cheyenne I'd lucky to have this treasure.
The redone building is a very beautiful place. They’re planning to put a lot more in, but it’s already the perfect place to go for Wyoming’s terribly long winter season. I’d definitely recommend coming here for their lovely fairy gardens, different biomes, and amazing features.
Beautiful!! Excellent for walking dogs, beautiful plants and statues. The Children's garden was outstang!!!!💖💞💖 …
The building was closed, but it was still great to get out and see the surrounding garden and lake.
There's so much to see! This is a great destination any time of year ❤️
For with fauna from all over!! It attracts some beautiful birds. Some items aren't labeled so you do a bit of guessing on occasion. But those that are, the details are great. A great 1/2 day, low key activity. There are stairs or an elevator.
I didn't go inside because I got there just before it was closing.
Spent time outside in the children's area, which was beautiful and very relaxing.
The outside grounds are open even when the building is closed. Wasn't too impressed for wanting to learn about plants that will grow well in Cheyenne. There are benches that you can sit on and relax and look at different garden areas. Didn't see any garden areas that really impressed me.
Beautiful! Glad Cheyenne has this gorgeous and relaxing place to visit.
Only got to walk around the outside gardens as the venue itself was closed during the middle of the day on a Sunday. It was beautiful from what we could see though!
This place is very relaxing. Nice to walk around by the lake and on the trails. The building even has some cool plants, and it's all free!
Such a beautiful place! Peaceful and relaxing. We also went through the Children's Village with a 9 yard old and a 6 year old and they had fun both places. We spent a little over an hour.
This was my first Spring trip. I don't know why I waited this long. Everything is coming back to life and promising beauty to follow.
The volunteers have been busy. There is still some construction in the outdoor area, but the kids village is looking great.
I've been to botanical gardens all over the world and this one is wonderful! Don't miss it!
Beautiful place to visit but was disappointed the indoors display was not open.
Great place to aee cool plants and birds. A lot of cool stain glass artworks.
Great place, very informative. Peacefull, idyllic. Lovely place to visit, especially a little earlier in the year. A great asset for Cheyenne.
Great place to visit with the entire family.
Beautiful garden that is a pleasure to take a stroll through.
It was free, so it was impressive. Not the best garden, but an excellent place for families or couples.
Nice building. Lots of plant varieties in both the indoor and outdoor gardens. The kid's village area is awesome even for those visiting without them. Very well done.
Beautiful place to spend some time alone or with friends. Don't forget to check the children's area outside.
This place is a breath of fresh air in the winter or on a windy day. It offers a beautiful view of the city from the outside balcony. But we visit it weekly just to see what changes in the outside gardens and the Children's botanic gardens.
I haven't been there since I was a kid. It was nice to see the new place!
This place was magical, cannot believe it's free for all to enjoy - truly so happy I can't here. Ladies working at the front were very very nice as well
Everyone was friendly. The plants and flowers are beautiful. The children section is nice to visit too. Has some silly, cute statues that make for memorable pictures. All around a good place to visit. The only downside is that the gift shop is a little pricey. Other than that, the establishment is clean and well kept.
Awesome place, the children's area is a great place with educational interactive areas.
Don't miss visiting the Gardens also visit the children village while there.
This place was really nice. They just recently added a new greenhouse with some botanicals, and big new facility.
always clean, friendly staff and nice bathroom. the children's village every Friday is AMAZING
Visiting from California. Beautiful, accommodating, kid friendly, hands on activities.
It was delightful to see all the greenery. The smell of fresh dirt and green leaves with the humidity was absolutely invigorating.
This place is a wonderful outing and a peaceful place to spend time. If you're with the kiddos be sure to check out the Paul Smith Children's Village next door. Both are free and time well spent.
What a charming find! We went in the fall so spent most of the time indoors. 3 floors along with an interior and exterior balcony. Large selection of plants for the size. No charge, though we made a donation while there. If I lived in Cheyenne I would come here multiple times a year. Was easy to find and close to the interstate.
Beautiful gardens and great kids area!!
A gem. The garden is refreshed multiple times per season. The Children's Garden is amazing, has lots for kids to do, and has a weekly schedule of events. The main building and the grounds are really well maintained. Good mix of native and non-native plantings. Staff and volunteers are friendly.
Took the wife, daughter and my mother here. Beautiful place to just walk around and admire what it has to offer
So beautiful and fun trip for photography love all the new upgrades
A fabulous free getaway especially in the winter months!
There was so much color in the plants. My favorite part was the baby elephant with its mom. Both were made out of plants!
Fun place for a quick walk. Nice employees.
A gorgeous and peaceful place to spend the afternoon.
Always a great relaxing time. They constantly make improvements. They are very knowledgeable and eager to chat about anything.
Such an amazing wonderful place! Great for any age! Love the staff and all the events!
Beautiful gem!!!! Take a detour and time to visit.
Very beautiful! Loved visiting! A must see!
Similiar to Sioux Falls' Butterfly House, but bigger & better!
They have a kids area too! Lots of fun things to do here & very relaxing!
Thank you for the opportunity!
Was nice sharing a nice walk through the Gardens with my bestie Mariena!
This place is wonderful. Has a terrific children's discovery area with lots of interactive fun.
Definitely underwhelming when I went, but I'll be back for the bloom hopefully
Amazing place to visit. Fulll of life and adventure for the kids
A gorgeous, hidden gem. Well thought out layout and beautiful.
I love this place. On a cold day you can go to a tropical place! Great for kids to look at the fish. Right now the kids place has a "find the elf". Our Grandson loved it!
Small but well stocked with all kinds of trees, fauna and flowers.
Very pretty. Nice place to get away for a few minutes. Free and open to everyone.
Gorgeous botanic garden with well-cared for building and plants. Both indoor and outdoor spaces, some of which are free to the public and some that request admission.
Very clean, interactive with both adults and children. Wide variety of outdoor species all beautifully kept. I wish there were more identification signs as well as the indoor special exhibits matched the mastery of the outdoor exhibits.
Beautiful and free! The area around the gardens are peaceful and relaxing. The inside is full of amazing plants! This doesn't take a long time, so take your time and enjoy it! The staff is friendly!! You don't want to miss this Cheyenne gem!
It was totally great !! , From 65 to 4 it was interesting and fun and the blossoms blooming engaged our anticipation for all the rest of spring to follow us home .
Very relaxing and refreshing during these winter months.
Just a nice place.
My favorite place to walk my dog. The inside gardens are beautiful. And sometimes they have small art exhibits inside too.
Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, so much to look at! They had a children's part that was also very beautiful 😍 …
AHHHHHH MAZING. Go there. You'll not regret it.
So beautiful great place to go with kids, free!
If you are visiting Cheyenne Wyoming, take a moment and visit this green wonder world. The exhibits are amazing inside and out. Great for the whole family. During the warmer months, the kids garden is a fun place to do lots of different things, crafts, feet in the water, and so much more. A Must See year round.
This is a fantastic place! Every aspect from the buildings to grounds is beautiful. The staff and volunteers are friendly and helpful. They have some amazing things to see and it is very educational as well. I highly recommend this place for a great visit! It does Cheyenne proud!!
Beautiful place to go spend time. Was very excited when they finished construction and have been a regular visitor since. There are plenty of beautiful places to sit and enjoy the area. Great visit no matter the time of year. Just wish the hours were open later. It is always hard for me to get there during the day and frankly would love the upstairs balcony at dark in the winter.
I am a local photographer and use the Botanic Gardens on occasion. This year starting with the gorgeous tulips in April and all summer long they have been gorgeous. You can tell how hard the staff and volunteers are working. It has also been nice that they haven't seen the hail this year like some years past.
We absolutely enjoyed visiting here!
- Set out in the morning from Sidney, NE just to come see it and we really loved this place. We also were impressed with all of the surrounding parks with ample walking paths, and nearby lake area open for fishing!
Very lovely city over all!
Thank you Cheyenne Botanic Gardens for existing, and being the reason we set out to your lovely location!! 💕🌸
Absolutely amazing! You could feel the love these people put into the care of the plants and their joy at seeing others enjoy the hard work thats been put in. I highly recommend and strongly suggest visiting as soon as you're able!
Very beautiful, fun, friendly place to get away. Hours of wonderful fun and beautiful serenity.
Since there was a frost earlier some of the flowers outside were gone. But the rock gardens and ponds are so well taken care of. Inside they have plants you wouldn't expect to see in Wyoming. Kids love the fairy garden. The store is fun!
It was so nice to get out of the wind and wander around in the gardens in the winter. What a great place.
What a lovely place. I found the children's garden to be fun. Children are allowed to wade into the small pond there if they want to and seems to be a great learning experience for kids. Interesting living roof. They do not charge an entrance fee but you can leave a donation.
So freaking beautiful there, wish I had taken pics of all the pretty flowers too but will next time 😊 …
Visiting from out of state, and I wish we had a free area like this! The kid's garden in particular was exquisite with a fun fall scavenger hunt and hidden gems around every corner that entertained both child and adult alike! Thanks Cheyenne!
A wonderful, relaxing experience. Beautiful flowers and much more. The pariscope is a must see.
This is a great place to visit. Been here several years now and I've been visiting here regularly. A true joy to visit.
What a wonderful find! The gardens were beautiful both inside and out! I couldn't believe that it was free to get into! My toddler loved the children's section and the storytime! If you're ever in Cheyenne, definitely make this one of your stops!
Clean, amazing flowers and trees, friendly staff
I am not much of a plant guy but the wife certainly enjoyed it very nice facilities cold drinking water was nice.
So glad I decided to come over here on my trip through Cheyenne. The information online was confusing, as it said that it was closed on Sunday. I tried calling to confirm this and was met with a voicemail again saying it was closed. Still I decided to go to Lions Park anyway and check out the area, and stumbled over in the gardens direction and saw it was completely open and fully running. No idea what was up with that, but I’m glad I went. It’s certainly not the most extensive garden I’ve ever seen but it was a great way to spend an hour!
Nice park, lots of small things to see, smell and experience. Great place to being kids of all ages. Well kept grounds and beautiful landscape and wildlife around.
Beautiful, well-kept.
Beautiful and meticulously arranged grounds with a wide variety of native and non-native arrangements, both inside and out. Keep an eye out for birds and turtles once inside. Be sure not to miss the bonsai garden on the terrace on the third floor.
This place is amazing! Go see all there is to see here year round! Wonderful experience!
Very nice gardens. We drove from Denver, just driving around and happened upon the Botanic Gardens and were pleasantly surprised. The Children's Village Park was also a lot of fun. Near a beautiful lake, friendly staff.
Such a beautiful place. Some of the exhibits were either closed or had maintenance while we were there but for a free place that runs on donations it was well worth it. Check out the indoor water feature for sure. The fish are so fun to watch!!
Pretty awesome! They run on donations only. Lots of plants you can't normally see in Wyoming. Most of their staff is volunteers. I love just walking around and I believe it's important to show kids how important plant life is!
A gem located in Cheyenne. Seems to change with the seasons.
So beautiful and clean! But I think the fish were hungry. Feed your fish y'all! They were opening there mouths at me. Poor things :(
We love going to the gardens! We try to go at least once a week to walk around, the plants are gorgeous and my son loves to see the fish and turtles. 😊 The staff have always been friendly and everything is very clean and we'll taken care of. …
Pretty good. But only one turtle hoped to see more. Overall nice humid place.
Absoluteley wonderful.
....i am so impressed with it...like our little town is growing up
Simple, beautiful place to enjoy some nature. I wish there was more outdoor exhibits, but the garden was nice. There was a gentleman that was teach about the periscope too, which shows that the Gardens are in a prime location. This is a nice place to take kids on a slow afternoon.
This was a beautiful place to go have lunch a place to sit and meditate or just something cool to do in the cold
Great gem for the city of Cheyenne. They are doing a big expansion and can't wait to see the finished project! The attached children's garden is so nice with lots to do for the little ones. They even have classes/activities for them in the activity building. Well done!
We only walked briefly through part of the area as we arrived at their closing time which is early because of COVID precautions. The staff person that was closing the gate was very friendly and we had very good chat. We will definitely be back.
They do a great job taking care of all the plants here. Fantastic place for everyone to visit.
Greenhouse, children's garden and visitors center we're closed, but was still able to wander around the grounds.... beautiful!
Sights and smells were gorgeous
This was a pretty place to spent an hour or two. The conservatory had tropical-themed plants including a coffee plant & a banana plant. It also housed many succulents. A cute little fairy garden was set up, along with a koi pond. A periscope was set up to view the surrounding locale. Outside were paths with lots of flowers and interesting plants. The labyrinth was a little disappointing. I expected it to be more complex. Overall, it was a good visit. Staff was friendly and helpful. A lot of time and effort went into the planning and execution of these well-kept gardens.
Admission is free, with a donation box available.
Awesome facility for a wedding! Or just spending time with a beautiful space.
The new facility is very spacious and beautiful. Love the classrooms and additional space. I also thought the the dedicated space for a Bride's Room was just that extra touch! Great Job!
Such an amazing place for this small town to have! Great place to meet a friend and hang out. The kids loved the fish and birds and seeing all the amazing plants. Truly a must see for Cheyenne.
I love going to the botanic gardens here in Cheyenne. It's so serene and relaxing.it's really nice to every once in awhile stop and smell the roses and recenter and refocus yourself on what's really most important in your life. This is the place to do just that. I come back from time to time when I need to recharge my batteries.
Beautiful place to visit!!
Nice gardens indoors and outside. It is relatively small so it didn't take much time to see everything unless your into reading all the plant names. Even though I gave this 3 stars it is still worth a visit.
Was surprised to find this spot near the fairgrounds. Very quaint and peaceful. The best part is the kids area, even if you don't have kids. It's a little world of imagination that they really put the work into making nice. Another place that makes you wish it was around when you were young.
I have only managed to come to the updated facilities once, but it was so much fun. They offer a lot of different activities and plants. I can see they are still in the process of expanding, but we are so lucky here in Cheyenne to have such a cool garden, plus it is free!
What a wonderful experience. Such an exceptional selection of exotics in a small, but beautiful facility. Wyoming can be proud of this garden! A real banana tree with a bunch of bananas and a Choi pond that is perfect. The blossom's scent from the citrus tree added a special effect to our experience. The conversation with the host was great.
Beautiful, Educational, Wild ,Wonderful Wyoming!
Refreshing and fun garden that doesn't seem like it should be in Wyoming, but some exotic locale. Had a great time in the indoor and outdoor areas here, great for adults and kids! Our puppy enjoyed the outdoor section as well 😄 …
Beautiful children's garden area--not just for children! Lots of outdoor area to walk around.
Inside part that is open right now is rather small during covid and difficult to socially distance. Also access to the bathroom is limited right now due to only one way to get to it, through conservatory.
Absolutely gorgeous, incredibly friendly staff, all around good experience. My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed spending about an hour here just checking out plants
These are the very best people it is a most beautiful place it's breathtaking when you walk in they have an actual tropical jungle going on with the misters and with the less greens with all the different levels to walk up and down they've got the children's world over there where children can run and play this is the place to be if you want to have fun it's breathtaking when you walk in they have an actual tropical jungle going on with the misters and with the less greens with all the different levels to walk up and down they've got the children's world over there where children can run and play this is the place to be if you want to have good fun
Wonderful area! A variety of plants to see and most are aptly named and explained
This is a really beautiful place. I love being able to see exotic plants right in my home town. So if you ever are in town visiting or haven't been there its realy great. Enjoy.
Great tropical exploration in the middle of winter!
A very peaceful place to visit. The conservatory is green and welcoming year round. The grounds are good for a short stroll. There's a separate area to bring the kids, The Children's Village.
It's nice to have this place to visit and get to see so many interesting types of plants. If you haven't been able to get out and see it yes, make time and go! It's definitely worth it.
Went to a Birthday party today. The party room was spacious are very nice. Everything was clean and bright. The temperature was great. Thank you for a very pleasant experience.
I had no idea there was a botanical garden in Cheyenne. It was fabulous, loved the children's garden, I don't even have kids.
They are constructing a new beautiful building, so there is a little mess. But it is fabulous and take the time to go. So relaxing.
A very relaxing, beautiful, facility! I highly recommend this place to visit if in the area or of you live there. Would be a great place to come and sit and admire the beauty to relieve stress that you may have.
I put this off because I didn't realize it was free. It's small but has room to grow in the future. Make sure to check out the periscope on the 2nd floor. It's free so no complaining. Staff was friendly. Take to time to also enjoy lions park, public swimming pool is also near by.
Beautiful new complex. So much to see and do. Rare opportunity for the whole family to have fun together. A "must see" in Cheyenne. Lovely meeting space for business use, too!
Very beautiful with an excellent structure.
Very relaxing place, beautiful plants, plenty of places to walk around, overall a great place to visit and spend time with the family. They offer a lot of cool stuff too, but I'll let you find out what when you visit. Worth the trip!
Awesome Garden in Cheyenne. and free admission. can't wait to visit the outdoor section when not in winter.
Beautiful inside and out! Great spot to have a picnic any time of day, enjoy a stroll or learn more about all the different plants and flowers all around the park. A lot of heart and soul here!
The staff is amazing and we had went for a wedding that was beautiful. I am so glad that I was a part of something that they will cherish forever <3 The flowers/plants inside are ones that you do not want to ignore.
I love the different plants they have there. It's very interesting to walk through
Living in Wyoming isn’t easy. Come escape the cold here. The indoor gardens are warm and the greenery is sure to make you feel better. There is a koi pond. Outside, there are also many attractions. A fine place to visit for all ages.
Absolutely beautiful 😍! Free admission and no time limit. Peaceful place to enjoy some of God's beautiful creations! …
Beautiful (and warm!) little botanical garden. Extremely well maintained and friendly staff. Perfect for kids!
Super cool. Dress light, it's 100° in there! There is a koi pond inside, which is notable, because it's the only body of water in the state or Wyoming without 150 Subaru Outbacks with orvis stickers and Colorado license plates parked outside of it.
It was new and pretty, but it was the same plant over and over. Not a single orchid had a bloom in their very shaded area. The periscope room was awesome! Only reason for 3 instead of 1 stars.
The Cheyenne botanic gardens is really a little piece of heaven in Cheyenne. They have a little something for everybody, from the giant indoor area that houses a large variety of tropical plants with beautiful sculptures to the outdoor Rose garden, or the peace garden. Highly recommended you visit here!
Very nice facility! Fun to look around and explore a little! Only downfall is most of it is closed so I’m excited for when they fully reopen!
Nice Park. Cleanliness is awesome. Nice location.
Covered Picnic area. Had a great time while attending chalk art event organized by city of Cheyenne.
Great place to visit!!
The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens is an amazing facility, and admission is free! They have a cool little gift shop and a grab and go café as well. I especially enjoy visiting in the middle of the Wyoming winter, when it's cold and dead outside.
Very nice small botanical gardens. Children's area was very colorful and the best part of the visit. Many picnic tables around. Includes lots of local history.
I am a citizen of Cheyenne and the community of Cheyenne should feel very fortunate to have a beautiful botanic gardens......the inside and the outside (During the green months of the year) is very beautiful!!! I'm assuming much planning and hard work went into the botanic gardens and thank you too all the volunteers!!!
This is an awesome place to take your family. My kids loved every minute of it. On top of that it was all free. So its a place were we can visit often and will be back too.
Everything is very pretty and well organized. If you want to spent some fun time with your kids or family I totally recommend this place. My kids like it a lot.
This is a gem in the city of Cheyenne. The children's gardens are whimsical and inspiring. There are walks along the water, parks tucked in between, and meditation gardens worthy of lingering. The main botanic gardens are under construction, but even until they're open to the public, you will not be sorry you visited all that surrounds.
A tropical island in the winter world. This free option was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff members, on a cold winter day. I look forward to returning in the warmer months to explore the outdoor gardens.
A perfect respite from the day. Come and reflect read a book and have a nice cup of tea. We saw a stained glass exhibit the afternoon we went. Recommend!
I spent hours here and it was extremely relaxing and beautiful.
What a wonderful experience this place was. Huge assortment of vegetation and various plant life set in a beautiful building with a kid friendly outdoor space. Would recommend to anyone visiting Cheyenne for the first time.
If you visit please don't miss the periscope, it's amazing. Great sharing opportunity with retired veterans. The gardens area is filled with gorgeous plantings...a wonderful experience for children and adults alike.
A good place for kids to learn about plants
Such a beautifully thought out and designed oasis in the middle of Cheyenne. They have spacious and accommodating meeting rooms and knowledgeable staff. Check out the gift store too.
The new conservatory, opening Spring of 2017, will be an unbelievable attraction for those who love plants and everything plant-related. The current conservatory is well worth visiting as well. The Children's Garden is quite an amazing place also.
The botanic gardens and children's village keep getting better every year. A beautiful place to spend the afternoon with the family especially because the gardens are enclosed if a storm comes up.
Never thought I would see a real live 20 plus foot BANANA TREE ! IN WYOMING!AWESOME!
I didn't realize how cool this place was it's really awesome the boys really enjoy theirselves anybody who's around this area should go to this place it's beautiful absolutely beautiful
Beautiful unexpected spot. Free to get in which was also a surprise. Lovely
The building is beautiful with tons of unique plants indoors and the children's village is a great outdoor play area for my kids! Highly recommend checking it out. Also its free!!!
All that can be said is for such a young and compact place it's simply beautiful family oriented and went during the butterfly release event it was a blast each person man women child was given a butterfly then we went out and releashed them. It was a free event and it was packed not a seat left. The plants are only 2 years old the environment is absolutely comfy. Include a WW2 submarine parscope the let's u veiw 360 degrees around the entire Cheyenne city. The lady was beyond knowledgeable on it's entire history as well as the city n the key locations, such as the capital the airport, Wal-Mart distribution, airport, everything. It's located beside lions park and offers a great way to keep the family enthusiastic for the morning 😁
Amazingly beautiful place, fantastic employees who really go out of their way to help you have a great time. Extremely clean in and outside of the place. Quite, beautiful, and serene.
Best place to visit in Cheyenne!
It was off season and snowing but still enjoyed visiting while in Cheyenne.
Very interesting and lots to see! Beautiful plants, flowers and worth the visit!
Beautiful ,really nice!!
The Cheyenne botanic gardens is one of the coolest places in town!! With the recent expansion there is so much more space and so many wonderful activities for families, kids, or adults looking for something cool to do!!
It very beautiful but it is just kind of small inside but there is a lot to see outside. The girl at the front desk is very pleasant and helpful. It's in a beautiful surrounding.
Cool and misty escape from the summer sun ☀️! Beautiful plants and waterways that are well cared for. Top notch botanical gardens.
Absolutely amazing. Love the banana trees, even got to see some bananas growing! Very clean looking facility with a lot to see. Highly recommend to anyone that is in the area
Wonderful place to be and such cool classes I love it here so much!
Hosted marvelous 80 person wedding, reception and dance. Wonderful settings and photo area for all events. Business arrangements easy to plan and execute.
Kids from ages 1 - 10 and they all had a blast!!
Great experience, the remodel was just what it needed. My entire family enjoyed there visit, and the children's village attached is the perfect touch to a nice family trip.
Since the new construction, the gardens are even more beautiful. Plus the added children's village offered even more. The bonsai area is one of my favorites
Bring your kids to this tranquil, beautiful, and very clean facility. The children's village is exceptional!
My family love this place, exciting to see new plants! Great place to visit!☺️
Such a wonderful part of our community. I come to the gardens as often as I can. The new, indoor area is phenomenal and I love the smell. So beautiful.
Omg soooo beautiful
Beautiful, super cool plants! I love the banana trees, they were enormous. Outdoor areas are really pretty too. Would recommend!
Very helpful and kind staff, beautiful plants and they have elevator to help handicap people get around
Absolutely amazing. If you haven't seen the new expansion, get over there. If you are visiting Cheyenne, it is a must see. A gem on the High Plains.
One of my favorite places in Cheyenne. The inside is beautiful, and the childrens village outside is the best, love taking my kids there.
Building was closed on Monday, but the grounds were beautiful.
It's gorgeous. Hours are spotty at best, but if you're looking for something pretty to see, they have pretty flowers inside and out
Awesome spot for the kids. Stroller friendly and free! The gardens needed more signs, tough to find the rest of the grounds because of the construction.
Great plants/flowers. They also have a collection of beautiful exotic birds. The view from the top is amazing, you can see a lot of Cheyenne.
A very nice garden.a child garden with lots of things for kids too.
I didn't realize that I loved botanic gardens until I went here. I loved the garden in the children's section. They had some pretty cool artwork for sale too, just extremely overpriced.
I was here to officiate a wedding in the peace garden. The staff was friendly and the venue is surprisingly beautiful for weddings. It is a lovely, unexpected venue for sure.
It is smaller than I expected, but they do a really good job with it. Had a lot of fun with the kids here and you can't beat free.
Delightful. Just like the botanical gardens in Washington DC, except smaller.👍🏼 …
The point in time that we visited the upstairs section was closed off due to covid.... Although my visit was absolutely memorable. Would recommend for anyone.
The weather was great and the company I was with was even greater. Took photos with the family and extended family and the Botanical gardens offered so many opportunities! WOW!
Beautiful and educational. We had a good day here
The area is awesome, but I was disheartened by how much litter is strewn across their wetlands feature. Saw birds trying to eat plastic, what a disgrace the people here must be.
Totally loved the gardens they're gorgeous peaceful you need to love this fairy houses that's a great place to visit often!
Amazing! We'd like to return in the summer.
Beautiful place to walk around for a couple hours. Free entrance.
Such a pretty picture of the gardens and many more pretty, quiet and restful areas to walk thru. I go every week!
I really enjoy walking through with my dog. I haven't gotten to see all the amenities yet but I'm looking forward to doing so!
A beautiful place, very friendly staff, interesting plants, and a good event venue
Beautiful place! Well maintained, has everything for kids....and its free!!
Take the time to find the periscope. It provides an opportunity to see Cheyenne from a different perspective. Also a great place to sit and read in a quiet environment.
A beautiful experience! Definitely worth checking out
Awesome place, free to the pubic. Beautiful conservatory with a huge variety of plants to check out.
So lovely! Went to a wedding reception there. Great venue!
Beautiful place. Very nice visitor center. Lots of walking paths and plenty of benches for resting.

This was just so special!! Everyone that visits Cheyenne should go there!!!!

The wicker Elephants kinda sneak up on ya, awesome!
Lots of different plants to look at. Very peaceful
Went here after hours but still very nice.
It was a nice place to go. It is free for everyone. They have a really cool Periscope from an actual submarine.
Hours are crappy. Otherwise nice place to visit for an hour or so if you have the time. I highly recommend you visit if you are an out of town visitor. Lost a star for weird hours.
Small but beautiful. Perfectly done. Grounds are some of the best I've seen and an excellent children's area.
A beautiful place with lots of variety. I also love the children's gardens. My grandkids throughly enjoyed our visit...
It was closed today, but the surrounding grounds are lovely. Will definitely set up another trip when the gardens are open.
Great place to see and learn all about different plants. The children's area outside is amazing also.
Awesome to see the varieties of trees, plants and art displayed throughout the building. I posted some pictures today enjoy 🙂 …

On a smaller scale, but very nice with lots of cool plants, views, and scenery. Will definitely be going back again.
It was really nice. We love it I wish they had more plants to walk around
I like going to the botanical gardens, I say they need to do more pest management, quite a few of the plants were looking a little bit on ruff side.
An amazing experience the grounds are vast and large and there is much to see
Purchase your tickets in advance covid-19
Lots to see, lovely walking paths, went end of September during covid but still lovely and peaceful.
Beautiful, clean even though you are inside you feel like your outside. Glass windows and great views of the park.
This place is always well maintained and is very beautiful inside.
It is so beautiful inside and outside. It was great fun taking our Colorado friends to see it.
This is definitely worth a stop for plant lovers. Such a large array of plants!!
We did my maternity pictures here and it's an absolutely perfect setting for professional photos.
Worth the drive from Greeley to see. Amazed that it is free to the community.
A nice stop on our trip. plan on spending 1 to 1 1/2 to see the plants indoors. Did not go outside it was freezing.
Great free attraction!
Great display of tropical plants
They have a nice kids area.
Came on a Monday and it was closed but toured the grounds. Beautiful flowers and layout of the grounds.
I'm quite glad we stopped for a visit. This is a city gem that local residents should be proud of. The green house has solar panels. Nice
It's an incredibly beautiful place. Highly recommend visiting if you're in Cheyenne.
Absolutely a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature and its beauty.
It's such a beautiful peaceful place!
I love to go there and wander around for hours with the small human. Educational, quiet, fun place to be.

Larger than expected for a town this size. And it's free! Kids garden was fantastic.
Gardening with Tough Love presented by retiring Director, Shane Smith. Great topic and fantastic delivery. This is his last week at The Gardens.
I love the renovation! It's such a great place to go when you have nothing to do
Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to spend a day with family of all ages!

A view of the tropics in Wyoming. Very interesting exotic plants are beautiful.
Definitely a place you want to visit. Free admission.
It is small, but mighty!! Probably one of the best things that Cheyenne has to offer to its residents.
Small but very beautiful, and well kept. Lovely spot for photos.
Awesome place to visit, especially since its free to enter!
Incredible gardens, they do accept donations and it is free to the public. A must see if you're in the area!
This place is beautifully landscaped. A very wonderful place to spend a couple hours.
Beautiful Place. Worth the visit. Nice walk around the park.
What an awesome little place in Wyoming. Just absolutely beautiful!!
Attractive building with a lovely greenhouse. Looks like they were more worried about hosting events than growing plants with this new building.
