Reviews of World's Tallest Filing Cabinet
Whoever says this is not worth making the trip for just to see a giant filing cabinet, is WRONG. I've seen sculptures in Italy and this is still one of the most beautiful pieces of art I've ever seen. A filing cabinet? In the middle of a random parking lot? Are you kidding me? Why would you not make a special trip just to see this. I drove 3 hours one way on a Sunday after wanting to see this thing for TWO YEARS and left with my expectations EXCEEDED. Not only did I get to see a bunch of filing cabinets stacked on top of each other for no reason, but I also got to go to 5 different breweries in the area because Vermont is like the cooler older brother to NH that has just about 20 breweries within a 5 mile radius. (I'm exaggerating that part. There is a lot though). Make the trip. Go see the big filing cabinet and hit some breweries on the way back.
Very cool! It is extremely tall and it slants slightly backwards but it seems relatively steady. A pretty cool thing to see. I would definitely categorize this as a must see due to the how unique it is.
We actually drove by this 4 times before we made the trip to see it. It is in a parking lot, so you can stop and get closer. It is a quirky roadside attraction that we had to check out! Great stickers and graffiti on it too!
I mean what can I say about the most famous skyscraper in Burlington VT?! Absolutely breathtaking and unbelievable. The amount of engineering that must have gone into this structure is insane to think about. And my god, if you have a thing for files you will be as erect as this stack of cabinets. Enjoy.
To anyone who doesn’t believe that aliens left their mark on this planet. Just take a look at this, just look at it. Ladies and gentlemen behold the Scientific proof that we are not alone! There is no way our species could have erected this without a little help from ancient alien friends. 10/10 would recommend to all structural architectural engineering fanboys and gals.
This structure is amusing, both in it's height and the stickers and writings on the cylindrical base. However, "World's Tallest Filing Cabinet" is an incorrect name for this location, as Guinness World Records has recognized "Minuet in MG" as the tallest filing cabinet since 2000.
It's a tall stack of filing cabinets on a concrete pedestal. It's not really marked or anything, and is in a parking lot. I wouldn't make a special trip to see it, but if you happen to be there for something else, it's worth a stop. Best tall stack of filing cabinets I've ever seen. Five out of five stars!
It's just a tall filing cabinet in the middle of a parking lot, but it's absolutely charming. A fun monument to take a brief visit to if you're in Burlington.
Unusual location, in a parking lot, very unique, lots to do near by. Something fun to see
It is what they say a very tall filing cabinet. The only reason it doesn't get a full 5 stars is because its multiple filing cabinets stacked together not one continuous cabinet.
This was such an odd stop that I had to do it. It was walking distance from our Rental unit and I do not regret that walk at all. It is exactly what it says it is. Just this really long stack of filing cabinets on a concrete pillar.Plenty of parking nearby and there was absolutely no one else when we went. Worth a quick stop to have something unusual in your photo album! The best part of this for me was that the walk led to some other great finds including a including a little local brewery nearby with some great entertainment and the friendliest dog.
As a young lad I always dreamed of becoming a business executive. Now that I have achieved that dream, I find myself now responsible for the purchase and maintenance of many, many filing cabinets, so you could call me an enthusiast. When I first learned about the world's largest filing cabinet, I was shocked, amazed, in awe of it's very existence; my mouth agape, I found myself thinking, "this must be the most glorious spectacle to ever Grace the eyes of us mere mortals." When I found out my most recent business venture would bring me to Burlington, I leaped out of my chair in excitement, as one would be at a heavy metal concert or professional sporting event. Upon visiting the majesty of this cabinet, I found all of my expectations and hopes fully realized.
Some things you need to see for yourself to properly experience them. Some things, it's enough to know that they exist and to see a picture. This is in the latter category. There are 11 filing cabinets with a total of 39 drawers. Nothing more to say about this really.
It was ok, the cabinets itself aren't that impressive but the area has a lot to do. Better to come after 1pm so both beer stores are open.
There was construction nearby so the area was quite muddy
False! Not worlds tallest filling cabinet!
But a nice gag
It was a collection of cabinets bolted together, not one cabinet. Nothing much to see.
Quirky, head shaking, and a nice little backstory to how it all came about shared later by someone who knew how this little roadside attraction had come about. A nice few minutes detour to see this. 👍🙂✌️ …
I was going on a college visit to Burlington and when I looked on the map I saw "worlds largest filing cabinet" and I knew I had to go. Some friends of mine had seen it before and told me about it and showed me some pictures but you have to see it to believe it. Any review online makes it seem like it's out in the middle of nowhere but it's actually in some grass near a grocery store and a restaurant. Truly a marvel of modern engineering and complete weirdness. Go see it!!!
Is this some kind of a joke or someone really intended to break a record by stacking filing cabinets?
Anyways, it was something on our list of things to do, so we went and checked it out.
It was pretty lame when we went there thinking it would be something spectacular, but it was just a bunch of old filing cabinets staked on top of a concrete pillar in the middle of an office parking lot 😏. Not sure why?
The biggest attractions in Burlington! It's so amazing, it changes my vision of the world! I can't see a filling cabinet the same way now.
Hilarious and worth it. I love the look on people's faces when you tell them you visited.
A tip of the cap and congratulations to the artist not ONLY for a tremendous creation, but an apt display of “Truth in Advertising”. Despite living in a world of gratuitous over promotion: This is the world’s tallest filing cabinet - both in name as well as in fact. I do not cotton to exaggeration.
Well done.
It's a really tall stack of filing cabinets, so you get exactly what is described. There's also parking if you want to stop and take photos.
My partner and I love kitschy roadside attractions. This one is a check the box stop. A "well that exists, oh look, beer 2 blocks away." Type place. Worth a pass and a picture.
If you are in Burlington, it's definitely worth a quick stop to see. Plus, there's a nice market across the street that's a great place to grab a quick lunch with a full-spread salad bar and flavorful, homestyle-deli sandwiches.
It's a tall filing cabinet. Clean area, nice spot for pictures. No complaints.
Quite exquisite. It overwhelms the viewer. How can something so big seem so small? Definitely worth “filing” in your memories. If you arrive from the East, the line is significantly shorter.
Probably not worth to visit. I couldn’t get to the highest cabinet where I kept my passport. Now I can’t travel!!
You just wouldn’t believe how amusing it is to be here. If you like silly things, it’s a must-see
Such a strange and quirky monument. My wife and I stop here for a quick photo every time we’re in Burlington. A++ for originality.
We made a trip out of it and drove all the way from Toronto to see it. It was pretty cool!
If you need a good laugh sort by lowest reviews. It’s the worlds tallest filing cabinet. What are people expecting?
Delivers on its titular promise. If you are looking for the world's tallest filing cabinet tower then you will not be disappointed.
This little tiny (but big and tall) filing cabinet is off the side of a residential street in Burlington. You have to look up or else you might actually miss it. It's a worthwhile stop for any tourist (or resident who hasn't been there yet), with photo opportunities that will get your friends laughing that you actually went to the world's tallest filing cabinet.
Great fun, but would help with a coat of paint over it all.
A fun little stop to veiw this stack of cabinets in a seemingly random parking lot. Fun to pull in and see that pictures can never really give the height of things justice, and veiw all the graffiti. (There's still room by the way)
Worth a drive by if you're heading through. You won't spend more than 5 minutes there.
This impressive behemoth is a landmark and a true local treasure. A bizarre testament to disorganized chaos in the form of elevated organization- you’ll have to see for yourself!
Disregard any comments less than 5 stars. This is worth a visit either before you go to one of the nearby breweries or even better, go after and take slightly inebriated photos of yourself, your friends, your dog. Show it to your filing cabinet back at work. You will cherish this moment forever or until the end of the block as you drive away.
If you love a novelty roadside attraction, this is must. Good parking available to make your photoshoot dreams come true. Someone should probably close the filing drawers that are ajar though
I mean, I'm not gonna argue with the claim.
Easy to find and plenty of parking. Cool spot.
Wow! Just wow!
Bucket list item for sure.
Ya gotta see it to believe it!
Drove 12 hours from Ohio just to see this tower and I have absolutely no regrets. If you’re anywhere within a 24 hour drive you MUST see this tower.
No parking, tall grass but really neat!!
If you love trinkets like this on your treks, this one is a five min stop. There's no specific parking or services-it's just a piece of art for viewing :).
It was a tall filing cabinet, no informational signs. There was a bird nesting in one of the open drawers. It was fun to see and get a picture.
Upgraded since we saw this in 2019. Quirky stop when in Burlington. Local duck was enjoying a big puddle.
Its in a parking lot lol. Still pretty cool
I don't know why, but this is one of my favorite parts of Burlington! It's a nice simple monument. It looks upgraded recently with a new cement base. As a heads up, a squirrel is always living in it.
Getting here is no trouble. It's right in the middle of a parking lot, and you don't need a ticket or anything. Stop by for a few minutes, you have nothing to lose!
One can easily appreciate the masterful ingenuity that went in to crafting such a testament to the greatness of humankind's amazingness when feasting one's eyes on this glorious artistic delight. This should be a federally landmarked sight.
When paper work is getting you down stop and visit this place. Each individual file cabinet is welded together to make this structure. There is no plague to say who did it
World's Tallest Filing Cabinet is one of those delightfully weird curious quirky oddities of Vermont 🤔👀🤪 And why not!

Fun little tourist attraction. Got a good chuckle from my family.
Absolutely exhilarating. Anyone not overwhelmed with feelings of wonder and awe must be missing part of their soul. But seriously. I think anyone who expected more, and then gave a bad review have to ask themselves, "What was I expecting?" As far as being a tourist trap, it's free, what's the trap?
Truly a unique roadside attraction.
Now this was very cool! There is so much to see and do in Burlington, see it while you're here!
We stumbled on this by chance and thought it was so fun. The market next to it is fabulous as well!
Not only is this monument an artistic masterpiece, it deserves worship. Its life and creation shall be recorded in the bibles of Fileosophy and studied by fledging Fileosophers everywhere. Make the pilgrimage to secure the blessings of the highest god, the Filing Cabinet itself.
Having traveled to and fro all parts of plant earth, far Orient and beyond, the great pacific, through entire landmass of continents, never have I experienced such high level of symbolic organization. I know while the metal shelfs are empty, it still gives me soothing comfort to know this archetype OCD lives in times where , statues and monuments of historical despicable villains are being purged from every town in civilized society, overshadowed by chaos, alas, cultural organization lives! bravo!! A must see!!
Randomly came across this while checking out the local breweries and parks. Definitely cool to see on a whim, but not worth going out of your way for it.
Well, a little underwhelming. But still a great thing to see! It was just moved by a few dozen feet, so come see the new location. At the old location there is some new art to see, very interesting. Now you can park right in front of the tower and can snatch your picture from the window of your car :) Make sure to get a coffee at Nomad while admiring the cabinets!
Dang, I need something from that top drawer.
What is going on here? Fun and interesting stop.
If you are looking for a spectacularly tall filing cabinet, you've come to the right place.
Coolest thing ever!! I finally found my 1993 Tax returns!!!
Truly a phenomenal experience. Everything I hoped for when wanting to visit the worlds tallest filing cabinet.
I came expecting the worlds tallest filing cabinet... and guess what, I found it! There was also a filing cabinet themed art exhibit surrounding the original beast. Only a 5-10 minute stop, and worth the photo and the laugh.
Pretty much the best thing. We watched a squirrel making a nest in one of the upper cabinets, which made us so happy to be alive.
It was awesome. Gave me the urge to file!!!
So much better than the One World Trade Center
This is in the middle of a residential neighborhood and fairly underwhelming. However, if you're in the area I suggest going so you can say you saw the world's tallest filing cabinet.
Pretty cool to see! Definitely a different roadside attraction. If you are in Burlington you might as well check it out!
It's a filing cabinet. And it sure is tall. 5/5
Pretty tall
Life changing he proposed!!!!
It's a pretty tall filing cabinet. You can park and take pictures right by it. Parts of it appear to be a bit rusty, and there was some of it on the floor. Good photo opportunity for discussion later.
It's gotten a little beat up over the years, but it's still an awesome landmark on an otherwise vacant piece of property. Definitely worth the few minute trip if you're in the area.. and especially if you're an office worker- my pictures were all the talk at the water cooler the week after I returned :)
I really like pieces of art like this. While, yes, it is silly, it also likely took a great deal of effort and craftsmanship. How the cabinet is reinforced into the ground to prevent it from toppling over is a mystery to me. It seems pretty unstable, but, it evidently has survived for a long time. I recommend giving a visit.
It's a 38 foot tall monument to bureaucracy. Keep your expectations low and you'll have fun.
It is what it says it is. Worth the bike ride over to see it. It’s pretty damn tall.
Underwhelming but also very funny. The justification is palpable
A Muslim see. Be carefully of the birds.
Right off the road, across from City Market, but not well marked. Tall, rusty, graffiti (impressively high, too). Nothing more than a 5 minute stop, but something quirky to see along your travels. It is what it is. Another quirky local Vermont-ism.
*this object has been moved. Still in Burlington but new location. Not sure where.
Easy to just drive by and see. No need to leave the car unless you want a closer look, and it's free to see it too. It's odd, quirky, and uniquely Burlington. If you're into reviving the good ol days of roadside attractions, I think it's totally worth the short drive from the main part of town and see it in person.
Such a funny tourist attraction. In an area with a cute coffee shop and some great breweries.
Cool site to see; that area of town is hustling and bustling with a market across the street.
If you are in the area, it's worth seeing.
A little underwhelming of a landmark. Filing cabinets are on top of a concrete pedestal. Seems like it could go a little higher.
It was listed as one of the must see things in Burlington. Was really disappointed once we reached the place. Someone was really drunk or high when they thought of it and executed the idea. Not too far from downtown Burlington but not worth the drive.
The most incredible sight ever
It’s a little rough to look at. I feel sorry for the person that has to file papers.
Cool spot to take pictures
It is literally a tall stack of filing cabinets. Rumours abound as to what is in the uppermost drawer but those who know are sworn to secrecy.
This piece of art is as goofy as it is inspired. You’ll need a wide angle lens to capture all of it. While you’re there, the healthiest and tastiest lunch buffet in town is across the street at City Market.
Definitely the tallest fountain cabinet I will ever see in my life. How do you really rate this!? Sure, it's hard to be low expectations on a tall filing cabinet
It's the tallest filling cabinet in the world, what more is there to say? It's very tall, rather rusty, and covered with graffiti to a surprising height. While you're in the neighborhood, maybe stop by City Market for some delicious cheese, Switchback for a beer, or Oakledge party to enjoy the lake view
The description says it all...a tall stack of steel filing cabinets, welded into a tower, mounted on a concrete base and decorated with a plethora of stickers. Good co-op grocery across the street, with a dining area. Go for the monument, hang around for tasty bites. The smoked bluefish is particularly nice, with some crackers, cheese and iced tea.
Actually, it's a bunch of 4 foot cabinets stacked one on top of the other.....but it IS really tall!
Lived in Burlington my whole life and see it almost daily. It’s kinda lame.
Incredible feat of human engineering. Was worth the 30 minute drive through the snow. We marveled at its glory for all of 3 minutes. I can die happy now that I have seen the world's tallest filing cabinet.
This was such a weird thing to see and it was definitely one for the books
Had no idea this was the tallest filing cabinet until a barstool sports Instagram post. It’s been around since at least 2012 when I first remember seeing it. Saw a kid climb it once and put a file in one of the top drawers
As pieces of public art go, this one is pretty unusual. It's a series of filing cabinets welded together bottom to top to bottom and erected as a giant tower in what's basically a vacant lot. You can see it just by driving by; it's not really something that requires you to get out of your car and hike. Someone had too much free time at some point, and society was the beneficiary. In distant future centuries, the filing cabinet tower will be worshipped as a god.
It's the world's tallest filing cabinet, what more could you ask for?
There's some critters living inside the files near the top. Had a somewhat grumpy squirrel stare at us the entire time
I had a recurring dream in which I saw an obelisk in a remote field. Each night, no matter where or when I laid my head, my unconscious thoughts returned to the monolith. I didn't just see the object, though: I saw ice cream with many chunks. I saw the outline of the head of a bald socialist. I saw dry-hopped IPAs. After many years and countless hours of meditation, I was finally able to piece together the puzzle of where this imposing but somehow calming and centering monument might be. I came to Burlington and saw the world's tallest filing cabinet. I was fulfilled. I was whole.
Among the cabinets of the world, this is the tallest without a doubt.
Absolutely remarkable. I can't believe they don't charge you to see this and take pictures.
The woman who took our picture in front of it suggested we say "Bureaucracy!" when she took the photo.
Honestly worth the one-time visit.
It’s exactly what you think it is lol.
What is there to say. It's the world's tallest filing cabinet
Cute road side stop while in Burlington to snap a picture of something so unusual. Easy to find, as you can literally spot it....how could you not? Had a bunch of my friend ask where in the world i found such a thing. Burlington, VT-thats where.
Took a cross country road trip just to see this. Easily worth it. And the best stop of the trip. Grand Canyon who? Space Needle? Four Corners? Las Vegas? None of them ain't got nothin' on the sheer unadulterated thrill of seeing the World's Tallest Filing Cabinet.
I will tell my children, my children's children of this day. God bless it, and God Bless America.
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement... when I found out this was NOT included in the Seven Wonders of the World. Shame on the Swiss Foundation for excluding this breathtaking beauty.
If you are planning a trip to Vermont, but did not include the sacred filing cabinet monument in your itinery, your trip will be a waste. Period.
This bad boy can fit so much lasagna!
The single greatest monument in the world. If you are ever in the state of Vermont and dont visit you have failed in your trip to this state. This monument will change your life. An absolutely must-see structure.
Legend has it, that ONE of the filing cabinets contains a secret coded map, and set of key's to Al Capone's lost treasure.
Kind of interesting although not much to do haha
Did not disappoint! Tallest one I've ever seen!
If you're into wacky roadside attractions you'll want to stop here. Easy to get to but not sure of the back story.
I really wanted to climb it. It is a great piece of culture shoved in the back fields of an industrial center. Keep walking a few blocks and check out some of the breweries.
For years I have dreamed of the day I would bless my eyes upon The World’s Tallest Filing Cabinet. And today, that day came. As I stood there in utter awe, looking up at the formidable structure, my landlord called me to tell me my house had burned down and everything I had was destroyed. I hung up the call. No matter. My car behind me burst into flames and burnt to nothingness. No matter. What are earthly possessions worth when I have seen Cabinets Upon Cabinets (maybe 40! 40, I tell you - 40! My body trembles with excitement as I think on it) stacked on top of each other into the sky? Answer is: nothing means anything if it does not involve Cabinets. 40 Cabinets. This godly structure has inspired me to in fact change my name to Cabinet so that I may carry this philosophy into my everyday life. Thank you, World’s Tallest Filing Cabinets. Thank you.
Signing off...
Cabinet McCabinet
Definitely the tallest filing cabinet I have ever seen.
It is everything you could possibly hope for. And more. Best part of my visit to Burlington. That and one of my best friend's wedding. But really, it was all about the filing cabinet.
Always fun to visit this place during the Art Hop!
Exactly what it is. Awesome. Family had a good few moments visiting this site.
Best filing cabinet I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot of filing cabinets)! I give it a perfect 5/7 stars! My only regret is that Harambe never got to see it.
Was well maintained, and cool to see. If your in the area get a photo but not worth a special trip, and I don't know the meaning behind it so it may be super special idk
This place is ridiculous! Only in Vermont I suppose haha! Parking is a little weird and getting to it in rainy weather is messy but still hilarious and worth the visit especially if you live here lol
New base is an improvement since last time here
It's a really tall filing cabinet. 10/10.
After looking .... I was able to file across the street to the food store...then back to my file tower
.its a nice sculpture. ..wish it was not rotting.
Needs more drawers
Unique Burlington Vermont, Arts District artifact. It's also a Pokemon Gym/Ingress Portal. Lots of local stickers... It's definitely wierd, just like Vermont.
Such a fun stop!
After seeing this monument, it was needless to say I was a bit worried. Worried about all the taxpayer dollars that will be needed to add this to our children's history books. Communism in all of its glory.
Fun detour in Burlington, VT. It's definitely tall.
Exactly what you'd think lol. 10/10
Very tall
Interesting pointless attraction. Worth 2 minutes and a picture.
Weird place but pretty cool little thing in Burlington but In a weird location
A pure roller coaster of an excitement to see such a beautiful wonder of the world. It filled us with such child like giddy that I will think of it fondly for years to come.
It's like other filing cabinets, but taller. There's free candy in the top drawer if you're skilled enough to get there.
Tall cabinets and plenty of parking
If your in the area I would say go check it out because it is quirky and neat. But I wouldn't drive more than 20 minutes to see this.
Worth a stop, especially if you can include a ride on the lakefront bike trail. Good breweries nearby as well.
Cute. Fun photo op.
Just as expected. Loved it!!
It's tall, and yes it file cabinets stacked on top of each other, easy to pull over and grab a quit picture if you'd like.
Stopped near this while in the area and I haven't laughed so hard in a while. They way it's just pushed back in some woods with nothing special to designate it really makes it amazing.
It's a little rusted out at the bottom. It's no Mitchell South Dakota Corn Palace, but it's awful tall. 8/9 Would recommend.
Magnificent! Majestic! Neat!
Make the trip worth your while and visit City Market across the street before or after :)
Pretty self explanatory: it's a big filing cabinet. Very close to downtown Burlington (5 min drive). Definitely worth the visit.
Weird and unimpressive. Just a place to go to, so you can say you've been there.
It's exactly what you'd expect. A tall file cabinet. Lol
Quite peculiar for a Guinesss Record ahahaha
It was the tallest filing cabinet I've ever seen! Take a look as you're on your way to the switchback brewery tasting room.....can't beat free.
File that under F for fun! Har har. What can you say about it? It's a bunch of rusting filing cabinets. Fun, goofy stop during our trip to Burlington.
No Eiffel Tower, but definitely lppives up to its billing. One wonders how many Rust Oleum rattle cans it would take to freshen the paint job?
The tallest filing cabinet in the world
Not much to do other than take some pictures but still worth quick visit. Keep Vermont weird.
Great but needs more light at night. You can take a picture of the whole thing at the parking lot
Off the wall funny attraction in the middle of nowhere.
Mildly interesting, without any real signage to explain "why", and the area around it isn't kept clean, but for two minutes, it's worth the 'gram moment.
Just a fun thing to stop and see. PLUS, there’s a squirrel who lives in it.
Great photo op and a great backstory! A true statement about bureaucracy told through art. What's not to like?
Cool to see once. Landscape is overgrown. Wouldn't go back but cool to say I saw it once
Cool spot to visit on a rainy day. Close to Switchback brewing which makes this a cool little pit stop!
Cool!
Beautiful piece of art. Would love to see it one day but i live in michigan
Pretty cool local art installation. It's a little rusty/graffitied at this point; time for a sand and painting i think.
I've never seen a bigger filing cabinet. If you love filling cabinets then this is for you!
Is it tall, yes... world's tallest? Has it been proven, who knows. Be sure that filing the Z files is a lot easier than filing the As!
It's a great photo opportunity to include with a quote of some kind like, "just a few more papers to file" or something to the like
Quirky art installation with an interesting history
38 cabinets stacked at top of each other. The trees around it is growing hiding the cabinets. Very vandalized cabinets
Absolutely incredible. Never before have I seen such a filing cabinet marvel. Worth the drive
I mean okay, it’s a tall filing cabinet. What would have filled it would now fit on a fraction of a thumb drive. And that’s how we measure progress...
Original, but not worth the detour.
Wish they kept up with it!
Now tell me, how did this filing cabinet get there? Why are there tags at the top? Is it possible that this was made by aliens? Was it Jesus?
Worship.

The secrets are in the top shelf
We went there for the joke and it was worth it

(Translation) A place that will change your life. A 21st century engineering achievement.
I had a hard time looking away from something so impressive.
Unfortunately 2 minutes after my arrival I had to resign myself to leaving the place, I was not worthy of being so close to such a marvel.

(Translation) The height is not disappointing! Very close to oakledge park (if you go there it's practically ridiculous not to stop). It's a pleasantly unnecessary attraction 😆
