Reviews of Vermont Teddy Bear Factory
this is an incredible fabulous place! This place is interesting and impressive for everyone of any age! We went to Vermont for the holidays and were looking for a place to entertain our 7 year old daughter, I never thought that myself and my husband would also be pleasantly impressed and have so much magic before the New Year! These guys are doing a wonderful job and this wonderful tour costs only $ 5 for adults and children for free !!! They don't mind pets so we were with our dog! There is a great gift and souvenir shop and everything is very affordable and incredibly beautiful! And the tour is just magic and so many interesting facts! I would like to tell you how much good this wonderful place does, but I want to leave intrigue and great interest for future visitors (you can find out, feel and see it all with your own eyes on a tour of the factory)). I love this place! And I recommend to everyone, absolutely everyone to visit if you are in Vermont! Take your time and come! And I want to wish this sweet place more kind, grateful and believing in miracle visitors ❤️
Definitely worth the stop. The visit could be around 2 hours depending on how busy they are and if you choose to build your own bear. Tours run every 30 minutes. Graham led our tour which was an informative tour with some funny bear puns added. We definitely enjoyed it. You can visit the gift shop while you wait or after the tour. You can build your own teddy or purchase one. There are many other animals to chose from for purchase as well. Staff was friendly!
The tour is well worth the $5 to see the behind-the-scenes action! Our tour guide was lovely and she’s the one who assisted us when it came time to make our own bear! We opted for the jointed bear and had fun choosing our friend’s characteristics. The best part was assembling the bear myself!!! Incomparable experience!
Nothing but a treat every time I come here! Pleasant, relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff with an amazing tour I've been on multiple times! Even if you're an adult without kids, you can absolutely enjoy yourself here. Definitely the cutest bears in the world and IMO they're worth the hefty price tag for just how much they hold up and how uniquely they're made :)
I'm a geek! We went on the tour when the workers were off, the weekend, but we lucked out and bought a bone bear and Zombie Bear. The Bone Bear, the Bones and eyes glow in the dark! It is very soft to the touch for fur, but of course the bones are fabric. We were told there was only 3 of the Bear Bones left, and 5 Zombie Bears left when we were all cashed out. It was great to know we should visit a few times a year but we'll see what life brings.
Vermont Teddy Bear is dog friendly! We had an amazing trip, it was so quiet and calm. The tour was very cute and hands on, even got an inside peak at what's coming next from the teddy bear factory and learned a short history.
It's a great pit stop, factory tours may not run every day so plan accordingly. There is more to do for little kids and it's a novelty for adults the actual store is big enough but not massive, so you can shop with ease. The landscaping is very nice and well manicured but the pavement was looking tired but the building itself was okay. It's crazy how times have changed. Years ago there were lines here to get in. Now its gently populated. We we're thankful that our pooch was allowed in the building as it was well above 90 degrees this day. Parking is plentiful and close to the building. The prices are fair with a wide selection of bears and other animals plus pajamas Clean restrooms. It was nice to visit the establishment and bring back childhood memories.
Such a fun thing to do if you're in Vermont. The tour was $5 a person and went by fast. You do have a chance to ask questions and all and the tour guid was very friendly. It was busy when we went on a Monday but it wasn't so bad I felt too crowded. They have a HUGE selection of bears to buy or make yourself. I got 3 of them ♡ highly recommend the Vermont Bear Factory.
I was apprehensive about this stop - did I really want to visit a teddy bear factory? But once through the door it was a great experience overall. Really enjoyed watching the kids pick out and build their bears. And the factory tour, though “light,” was a fun time. By the end I was caught up in the emotions of my childhood and the teddy bear I got for my first Christmas (and still have 58 years later!). It was also nice to hear the history of the company.
Great way to spend some family time and learn about an iconic Vermont company! My kids loved adopting their own souvenir from the gift shop before leaving. Great photo ops outside too!
The best place to find a teddy bear for yourself, family and friends ! Staff are friendly. All the teddy bears are so beautiful and they have lifetime warranty too !
We got there at 10am when they opened expecting to be able to tour immediately, however tours did not start till 11am (this was not posted on their website). We were able to keep the kids busy looking through the shop and building a bear, but it would have been nice to know this before arriving.
We took the tour, it was neat to see how a company that's been in business for so long and made so many bears could make all of them and for so long in that building.
Pretty neat building, super kid friendly indoors and out. Even my 14 yr old daughter enjoyed it!
Not a destination stop, but if you're in the area with kids, it's worth visiting. There's a large gift shop, a make a bear area, factory tour, and pajama shop here. It's free to visit, but the tour cost us $10 for two kids and two adults.
We had a good time. Our tour guide Pam was so knowledgeable and much fun👏👏 the kids enjoyed the tour itself as well as the store😂😂
My daughter’s dream come true to pick out a stuffy that was made right in the building! Staff was fantastic with the children and the tour was fun!
Loved the tour, it is assessable for those with special needs. My favorite part was seeing the bear hospital. Beautiful shop we got two bears. Selection was the hardest part since everything is so cute. I would recommend this stop for a family outing.
Absolutely love this place! Amazing places to bring kids and adults alike. Doing the tour is 100% worth it as well as making your own bear!
The staff were so friendly and helpful while shopping! We went there to find a specific champ dinosaur and one staff member initially thought they were out but she not only checked the back but consulted with other staff to find the one remaining champ to present to us!! After this we were assisted by a male staff member who helped us look through the damaged marked down bears and we ended up leaving with two additional half priced bears that looked perfect to us! All the staff we interacted with were so helpful and friendly, highly recommend a visit even just for shopping as they are all so knowledgeable and kind!
A magical experience for not only children but also adults. I have dreamed about coming here since I was a kid. Finally I was able to at 24 years old.
We arrived 15 minutes before 3pm. I assumed we'd be waiting an hour to get a tour. The 3pm tour was available. With time to spare we explored the store and looked at options to buy. I highly recommend going on the tour first before buying anything.
Learning the history of this factory made me appreciate it even more. This isn't just a teddy bear. I left with 2 new additions to my house. A bear for my son and one for myself.
We had a quick stop here to take the tour and see the bears. We liked that it was not too big and the tour was only 25 minutes so it doesn’t take up your entire day. It is a smaller operation than you would think with some very talented and creative seamstresses behind the scenes. They really try to make their customers smile.
My family and I were up for a visit to the factory and tour in mid-August. Everything was great - clean, bright, fun and family oriented. We crafted a few bears at the end and my son and daughter loved it. For the record Lindsay (forgive me if I spelled her/your name wrong and took a terrible picture) proved to be more than a step above the norm - she was so caring and considerate to my daughter during a tearfully tough case of "bear indecision". Thank you for the excellent customer service, your efforts made my family's day end on such a high note. The entire staff and visit were top notch.
Amazing time. Wendy, our tour guide was helpful, friendly and informative. Our daughter loved going through the store, making her own teddy and doing the tour. Definitely worth a trip!
This was a cute place with a cute little tour! Definitely a place to bring children of all ages, and it was fascinating to learn how a bear is made!
Longtime fans of the Vermont Teddy Bears. We were disappointed to find our we couldn't tour once we arrived, the tours run on a schedule that is not available anywhere except in person. So we couldn't plan our trip accordingly and went too late. Attaching a picture of the hours to save other's time. Be mindful that other reviews mention that they'll change these without notice, which after today's experience, I fully believe. So be warned!
Enjoyed the shop and behind the scenes tour. We should have come on a week day so we could see the employees actually making the bears during the tour but it was still really fun
It's very clean, fun, and interesting. Provides a unique experience. The tour hours were unclear, as they actually shut down at 4 so we did not get to take the tour.
Great facility, my daughter loved our tour guide she was very personable with her. We enjoyed learning about how the Vermont Teddy Bears are made.
This was an interesting spot along our travels through Vermont. I thought it would be a nice place to find a cute souvenir for my niece, but sadly the prices were prohibitive, except ofcourse if you're willing to buy a Vermont Teddy Bear made in China, which just felt wrong.
We learned the bear stuffing uses recycled bottles. Wonderful for the environment!! The tour guide was very good.
We were tourists from N.Y. I've been before, the group i was with hadn't. I had a good time. Being a former BABW employee for 5 yrs and knowing their history as well. It was nice to see the original and hear the story behind it. I do wish there were more options in a way for tourists in regards to clothes and actual building of animals. I have always felt the animal prices were fairly expensive overall.
My wife and I popped into the Factory to buy some gifts for the children in our life, and we were absolutely charmed. Not only does it offer a great selection of stuff animals, but it also has a wide selection of official Bernie Sanders mittens! We also learned that the factory is committed to hiring ex-cons, which I wish more businesses were open to. Our children are very excited to visit in person for the tour!
Wow experience. Thy really make the bears there, with very high quality. Great place for kids and parents.
Did the tour. We expected this to be a bit young for our 13 year old but he loved it and walked out with his own bear. Graham (older guy, name might be wrong) was an awesome tour guide and interacted with all the kids that came along. Agnes helped my wife build her own bear which was awesome since she was particular and was trying to replace a Vermont Bear she had as a kid.
Great place for young and old. The tour is a walking tour demonstrating the process of stuffed animal making. More appropriate for adults and older children . the teddy bear hospital was interesting and something I was not aware of. They replace or repair any damaged Bear no matter the reason , even if your dog chews it apart! What an advantage to purchasing from this company. And they make many other animals besides bears. Glad we stopped even though we had no children with us.
We loved the experience. Saw the "setup" tour, it showed how the bears are built, our guide was great! We were in the last tour of that day. Would love to see the actual factory!
Factory tour had aome interesting tidbits. Its $5 for adults. Pajama outley with great adult pjs reasonably priced. Teddy bears have life time guarantee, They are mire expensive than the department store chain variety. Sign up for their email list serve ahead of visits to get discount coupons. Also look for in store promotions.
Took my daughter there on vacation. It was her first time there and she absolutely loved it. She came home with not one but 5 teddies. She even took her teddy she got for Christmas from there with her there so he could see where he came from.
Cute grounds. We were to late for a factory tour but enjoyed looking around.
Great selection of teddy bears, a favorite toy in the family. Sometimes the kids need a cuddle friend, that's what they'll get here. It's a big factory, I heard there's a customization area for the teddy bear, we skipped that. There's stuffed animals from bears to dogs to elephants. Staff admitted they shed a bit, even used a brush to clean the stuffed animals I brought home for gifts. Picnic tables neatly displayed across front lawns. Checked off the bucket list!
Did the tour and the host was amazing. The gift shop is a must. Super nice and friendly staff
I dont know how you couldn't love the Vermont teddy bear factory, with guided tours of the facility and a store for everything teddy bear, this should be a must stop for anyone traveling through the area, especially anyone with children. Highly recommend, swing in you won't be disappointed.
Super enjoyed this experience! Graham was hilarious! 🧸 …
Wonderful tour full of interesting tidbits!
It was like going back in my childhood and the staff was an absolute pleasure to deal with, made for one special birthday for my niece, the selection of bears is out of this world and def look forward to a return visit in the near future
1st visit since 97 and it hasn't changed too much. Honestly, I didn't like the imports. Can't believe how simple the process is and how much they teach you, so that was fun.
Purchased for my beagle who loves oversized bears. Great quality, she is in love.
Great place children. Approx 20 min tour but lots of cute stuff at the shop. GreT for children of all ages and adults to
Love going to the Teddy Bear Factory! So much fun and gorgeous building, aesthetics.
Every new baby in my family gets a teddy bear from here and we do family pictures in the silo. Love it!
We are here on a trip and stopped in yesterday 4/18 to purchase some Bears for gifts. We were treated respectfully, every single employee greeted us and made sure everyone in the store was being assisted. One of the staff offered to do a stitch and a fluff to an old Bear we had brought in with us.
We are extremely pleased and thankful for taking the time to do that.
We will always return and will definitely recommend Vermont Teddy Bear!!
Great place for children to go and have a great time. The people there are super friendly and helpful. Be prepared to wait in line if your little one wants a custom bear. Otherwise, come for the tour and stay for the joy.
Stopped in here with my 3 year old son and he found a teddy bear with the same color eyes he has. Good stuff.
We missed it but looks like a good stop for a stuff toys.
Nice place definitely a money maker. Was neat to learn the history. The tour was a bit of waste of time and money. The pj shop is neat and the bears are fun. Only downside is they are expensive (but kind of expected) grounds are kept clean and staff for most part was helpful. They were out of a lot of the parts for the custom made bears which was tough since we stood in line for 45 min. Overall a good experience and fun for all ages
Very nice place for small kids got my daughter a teddy 5yrs ago and she still brings him everywhere she goes got her a new one last time we went ladies are very friendly with kids. Teddies are built to last and they will repair anything on them and ship them back cant go wrong with that teddy for lifetime.
Love their website! I've placed numerous orders and always receive any amazing best.
Classic teddy bears available. They do tours and "build a bear" style teddy bears for kids.
Awesome place to take children or adults. The making the teddy bear was a great deal of fun. Also learning about the history of the company and the amazing service provided is so interesting.
Lovely price for the quality of stuffed bear that you receive!
We toured the factory and found it a pleasant way to spend some time. We have too many of these Vermont teddy bears at home. So it was kind of interesting to see how they made them. Although no giant surprises on their construction. It was still worth the time.
Didn't take the tour so entrance was free to me. It was fun even for an adult. My niece and I went and had a blast
Tours were fully booked, so we couldn't do that and it was a bit of a drive for us. They had some bears to stuff which was cute, but just know the machines to stuff them are loud. Overall cute, but not sure I would put it at the top of my list to visit again.
Lots of fun for for my 5yo, a bit expensive in my opinion(for the souvenirs). The tour was only $5, and the tour guide was very pleasant and upbeat. All the staff was pleasant and easy to work with and answered any questions.
The staff is awesome!
Great for the kids and the kid in you it truly was a blast you can tell they really love there jobs at the factory
We made a teddy bear an hour before they closed and the staff was so friendly and happy to be there even when closing in just an hour. It wasn’t busy for a Sunday either. The prices are fair for making a bear although they prices of some pre-made stuffed animals got up to $70-$100 and most material is made in China.
Definitely didn't disappoint and is worth the trip. The tour was great and definitely recommend building your own. Just be ready for one bear + one outfit will set you back about $70. Your kids will thank you though.
They finally updated their choices which I really love. My daughter had a blast! All of the employees were very bubbly and natural with the kiddos. The teddy bears are very pricey ranging from 20-60 without accessories and without the Teddy Tour, but the expirience was well worth it. I just suggest you are prepared to break the bank lol.
One of the Best places to go with your family at Vermont state
The tour was interesting, gives you an insight how the bears are made, however not a lot to see there. The main purpose is to get you to buy a teddy bear.
What's not to like about teddy bears! Very easy to get to. It's a large spaced out store and the staff is very friendly. They've got large outdoor spaces to enjoy.
Totally worth a trip with the kids if you're in the area. The tour is interesting and entertaining and very reasonablely priced. The cute teddy bear tags received on the tour are a fun souvenir. We found the actual bears available for purchase a bit on the expensive side, but understandable due to the hand stitching and lifetime guarantee. We found a few "make your own" bears in the budget friendly range and also found a coupon in a local magazine. All in all, well worth it!
Great place had a picnic lunch withbour new bear and slept with Hershey all the way home.
Best tour experience I’ve ever had. Lindsay is amazing and went above and beyond to make our trip extra special. 10/10
Really nice quality bears! Expensive but worth it. The tour was a bit annoying due to the large amount of young children crying, but that isn’t the companies fault. After the ambassador announced end of tour and the kids left, she stayed after with the adults for a few minutes to give some extra explanations since it was rushed with the children. Cool place to visit if you have time.
Cool place. Fun facts about a stuffed bear!
A fun factory tour. Inexpensive admission fee. Cute grounds to visit as well and of course the Vermont Teddy Bear shop has everything you might want for your collection, current children, future children, grandchildren etc.
Fun spot to visit. I would recommend if you have kids.
This must be one of the cutest places on earth! Fun for us adults. The tour guide was very willing to answer our questions about the company. Tip, if you are not purchasing a gift, check out the "seconds" bin. Lots of good bargains.
Awesome staff!! Knowledgeable and so fun to be around!! Take the tour. It was one of the highlights of the afternoon!! So cool!! You will be glad you did!!
When we got there we missed the tour by 5 minutes we weren't going to wait another hour looked around I thought about getting a teddy bear made but the line was huge! Went into the shop saw some beautiful teddy bears but this place bring your personal banker they're expensive as hell but well worth it I was told
So happy the tour was up and running! Took my aunt in-law here because she has never been to Vermont and I knew this would be a great experience fo her.
It was a lot of fun taking the factory tour and well worth the $4. The tour guide was top notch and had many fun bear puns and jokes. The grounds were beautiful and playfully colorful. All in all, a great trip and would go again. The only downside was that the employee who helped me make my bear wasn't very friendly and didn't let me do much to make my bear unlike the other employees who were very kind.
Really cool tour of the factory. Now I understand why the Vermont Teddy Bears are typically more expensive than other teddy bears.
Could be more personal and fun if the correct person had better presentation!!
Super fun experience. It was a last minute stop so we were unable to get in for a tour but it was still so fun! We go to walk around the store and make a bear. The staff was super helpful and I felt safe the whole time. Great fun for all ages. If you want a tour though I recommend calling in advance. 100% worth stop though!
Amazing place, quality bears and great place to work.
Very interesting and know that they love their bears. Guaranteed for life and beyond.
This place is adorable! I made my own bear and bought an outfit! Although my only complaint is the shop is very overpriced, 39.99 for a small bear seems a bit much.
Loved the store and offerings themselves but the factory tour is only at certain hours. I was around 10 mins late and could not attend it. The bad part is that they do not advertise the timings on their website.
This was fun, but pricey. Making your own bear was a good experience for young children.
Really cute place if you like teddy bears.
How cute can you get? Definitely check out this teddy bear institution when in or around Burlington. My kids had the "beary" best time (corny bear jokes are a must). The tour is super reasonable ($4 for adults, free for kids for an informative 30 minutes that comes with a cute take home button and bear shaped fur scrap to go with it). The store is amazing, I was especially happy to see a Khaleesi bear.
The teddy bears are super expensive cause they’re hand made locally. There’s also a station to make your own teddy bear.
When we visited they hosted “passion for paws” outside and had a lot of dogs and puppies up for adoption which was pretty cool.
The tours are every half hour during summer and on the hour all year long. Last tour at 3:30 pm so make sure you’re there before that.
All Vermonters under the age of 4 get a free teddy, which is pretty cool. (There’s a procedure you can look up online)
Fun teddy bear factory outside of Burlington. Fun guided tour. Lots of different bears and outfits.
Cheap tour of the factory with the history of the brand. Great stop for the kids especially on a rainy day.
This place is so much fun. We took a tour of the production area and then right into the shop. Our guide was so sweet. Worth the trip.
A few years ago, we took our son and had a fun time with the tour and seeing the cute teddy bears. Looking forward to taking him and our daughter this year.
Tour super cute. Worth the money and trip for that. Teddy bears are very expressive though.
Super cute factory tour that kept the kids entertained. Everyone was helpful and friendly.
Almost perfect, except for tags that say "Made in China." Bought a gift for our grandson, expecting something made in Vermont. Everything else was good. They were timely and it is a cute set of a Bear, a Floppy Eared Bunny, and a Giraffe.
Fantastic tour of the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory. Cassie, our tour guide, did a great job explaining everything so well. What a really cool place to go.
If you ever wondered why these bears are so cherished and pricier than other bears, you have to come to the factory and get the tour. All hand made by local people. Great little tour and story. The best part, buying a bear before you leave!
Cute place to spend money. Kiddos liked hugging the huge stuffed bears and...? We bought two really soft teddy bears . Hmmm...nothing else to say.
Super cute place to go as a family or couple - had a lot of fun on the tour
Good experience and very family oriented
Great for kids to learn how the factory works, teddy bears are, too expensive or am just broke🙄🤔😜45 for a tiny Teddi bear 🧸 too much that my honest opinion at least I took pictures of the teddy bears that am not going to buy 😜😜🤣there is a fee for the tour in 2021 it's 5 dollars per adults every hour
i did bought 3 pijamas for 10 dollars each there is a pijama store to the right side of the factory..
A mí no me gustó muy caro los peluches, pero si tienes niños pequeños a ellos les encantará, así que no dudes en llevarlos el tur para conocer la factoria sale cada hora y cobran 5 por adultos..2021
Super tour. Wendy did an excellent job.
I remember going here as a child with my parents, grandparents, and siblings. It was such a treat, I still have my teddy bear 😊 it's fun to have this smaller teddy bear factories, but none will ever compare to this experience. …
Very accommodating friendly and reasonable will return
Gift box is shipping box. It arrived smashed and written on in marker! Called a week ago and was told they would send another box. Still waiting. Why they don't put box inside a sturdy shipping box is baffling when the little bear is close to $90. The bear is cute but smaller than it looks. There was no inside packaging either to protect the bear. However, there was an air hole so he could breathe!!!
Best quality Teddy Bears you will find anywhere. If you are in the area or looking for something to do with the family take the kids and go explore this place they have a tour and show you how they make the bears and have a shop that has tons of different bear and accessories to choose from your new bear.
Website says open till 5 but closed at 4.
Learnt so much about Teddy Bears in such a short time!
Fun little place to tour, especially if you have kids. The tour guide was very enthusiastic and fun.
Closed and just taking pictures from outside.
Will comeback again later.
A great place to take the youngsters, or to pick up a gift for that special someone. Highly recommended!
My dear friend just said a final goodbye to her sister. In lieu of flowers, I sent her an angel bear. She just received it and her words of thanks actually comforted ME! Thank you for allowing me to help ease her pain.
Great place to take kids (and fun loving adults). Teddy bears are garunteed for life!
Great place to get any size bear made. Has a factory kind of like build a bear. Looking for gift look no further.
A welcoming atmosphere. Open and airy
I loved this place. Loved to find out the stuffing of the bears had Ben And Jerry's plastic cats were stuffed in the bears.
5 grown-ups... What fun!! Jim is great!!
Very interesting tour good for both kids and those who are kids at heart.
Great visit with the family to the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory! Easy trip, especially during COVID restrictions.
Lit bearz

This is really Great place I high love this place and the people are very nice and friendly and helpful
Very nice tour and great way to see a local factory making actual product. Buy American! If going to Vermont, worth a visit
Adorable! Take the tour.
10.stars for them. They are the best. Truck drivers , you can do bussines with them. They are perfect.
Great place to take the little ones to see how the teddy bears are made. Expect to spend $
While pricey ,a very enjoyable experience
It does not allow factory visit due to covid. Not much to see but shop is available.
So worth the trip no matter the age!!
Kids had a great time watching their bears get stuffed.
A great half hour stop for families.
Always beautiful to behold, first time I've experienced the falls at dusk from the New York side!
Loved the tour and found me a teddy of my own.
The tour was interesting. My grandchild got to make a bear...
Kids loved it. Huge selection and good for kids to see.
Factory tour is interesting!

My grandson loved the Teddy Bear I bought for him.
Interesting story on how they got started
We think Vermont Teddy Bears are the best in design, craftsmanship, and quality!

Great tour. Definitely a must see! Love their store…so many choices.
Cool spot, pricey bears! 2nds bin is the way to go!
went on a Thursday, there was nobody there. making your own teddy bear was fun, pretty much we got a private tour for no extra cost
overall i loved it would visit again
Great place to work, friendly employees and management. Professional environment
This is a MUST STOP place! They treat everyone like family and you can’t tell all the workers love their jobs!
The tour was the cutest tour I have every been on. They process is mostly handmade which is intriguing and they have a bear hospital!
The shop has a wide variety of not just teddy bears but elephants and Loch Ness monsters and dragons. With a LIFETIME GUARANTEE and the ability to put their iconic Teddy bear in the washing machine, they’re worth it.
You can’t miss this if you’re in the area or just passing through.
(Translation) Nice little visit. Interesting, the manufacture from A to Z explained with enthusiasm by the guide. Boutique on site, possibility of making a personalized teddy bear.

Belle petite visite. Intéressante, la fabrication de A à Z expliquer avec enthousiasme par la guide. Boutique sur place, possibilité de faire un teddy bear personnalisé.
(Translation) This place is fabulous! It was like being in a fairy tale about bears. All sorts of bears, you can even assemble yourself a bear of any color. Even colorful can be 😍
There is a half-hour tour. They tell a story about a teddy bear.
