Reviews of Shelburne Museum Covered Bridge
We really enjoyed our visit. All of the exhibits are very nice. Our favs were the train station, steamboat, old store, toy exhibit & merry-go-round with exhibit. We felt it was a reasonable price for all they offer. They have a nice Cafe for a bite or snack. The shuttles to take you around are nice too as there is a good amount of walking, especially for someone that might not be able to walk all over. And the grounds are beautiful! Well worth the visit.
Beautiful old tavern. Well restored auth fascinating period items. Love the creak of the floors. You can see and hear in your imagination the pints of cider being quaffed as well as tumblers of rum and gin.
Breathe deeply and the smell of pipes being smoked infuses your senses
Great place to visit. The collections were great and they have a steamship!
My son is a budding photographer and found so many interesting things to photograph.
The buildings and collections are wonderfully preserved. I highly recommend visiting.
Nice relaxing walk. We did it in 3 hours although you could take longer
This was a great Nastolgic visit, of things not wanting to be Lost.
Relaxed environment, interesting displays of unique items, from a steamship to a huge collection of antique toys and dolls. Good for all ages. Takes two days to see most of it.
This museum is awesome. Great place to walk around and see some great art 🎨 …
The Christmas Light exhibit was amazing! These pictures don't do it any justice..
Wonderful Holiday light display. The Beach cabin was incredible. Photos don't do it justice
The museum is great. Nice exhibition and interesting walk between the different buildings. Recommend
Nice museum, lots of building, housing everything from toy trains to a real one. Spent 5 hours there . Will return again as there is so much too see.
Really, you owe it to yourself to go here and walk around. I'm a history nerd, and this place has some of the most wonderful objects in American design.
there is so much to see here plan on spending a good part of the day. my whole family loved it.
Loved this spot! My favorite part was the signs on the inside and the pedestrian walk on the outside, also over a beautiful water space with great photo op potential
Amazing museum. Fun for the whole family. Must see if you plan to visit Burlington.
Well worth visiting- lots of quirky areas to explore including a steamboat, jail and school
Love this place. Full of history. Taste your time.
A lovely well-preserved classic example of historic Vermont covered bridge craftsmanship.
great experience ... it can take two days to see everything
2 day pass included with ticket purchase. You need 2 days to fully appreciate what this museum has to offer. Excellent family venture. Wife and I just took our 10 yr old Grandson yesterday and he LOVED it😊

The Winter Lights are fantastic. The Fairy forest is delightful for yung and old. I would go again. It is a walking tour of the grounds, with light s in and on trees, buildings and the Ticonderoga and the water around it. I would recommend an evening there for any family or couple.
Worth a visit at least a full day to see everything.SHMO
Great place to visit. Something for everyone.
Speed limit was 10 mph..
Came upon the museum and stopped to check it out. We'll worth the time. We spent about 3 hours but one could easily spend a day or more.
Beautiful covered bridge with 2 lanes! Used to be the entrance to the museum, but now entrance is a little south of it on Rt. 7. Shelburne Museum visitors can walk on it from inside the grounds and peek through the "windows" at the pond that it spans. My kids used to like to have a footrace, one kid in each lane. The floorboards are a little uneven though (due to its age and use) so just be aware. It's a real charmer and such a treat to imagine how many people have walked and driven over it through the years!
Very educational! Fantastic museum with so many factual, historical events! Thank you!
I am a third grade teacher and bring my students here every year. I have been to the museum at least 15 times and each time find something new I didn't see before. I have my favorites too, and would not think of missing the fine artwork in the Webb house! The Monets and Degas are breathtaking! It is easily an all day visit, and you will still not see it all.
Love seeing the covered bridges in Vermont! Loved walking through this one and seeing the grooves in the wood from traveller's from years gone by. Beautifully kept!
Grand history lesson. Takes two days to see it all. Take the shuttle. It is free and runs regularly. Enjoyed my day there very much. Wish I could have stayed two days.
Covered bridge is a small part of the museum, had a very good time with entire museum. Spent 5 hours here, well worth the admission.
Had alot of old buildings and items. Wonderful history lesson on all types of items..decoys, dolls, buggies and wagons, drugs and herbals, general store merchandise. Has an authentic riverboat and a train. Little expensive I thought and not all if it was handicap accessible.
So much to do and see. Great history to be learned about our country! The staff was very knowledgable, and helpful with every need! One of my favorite places! I love Vermont!
Super museum, just love their exhibits. My favorite was the gardens, especially the maps describing the plantings. Don't skip the circus building.
Why this is listed separate from the Shelburne Museum is beyond me, but if you're looking for a covered bridge, you found one. It's pretty big and well made. As far as covered bridges go, this is certainly on the nice end. Plus, it's in a decent museum to check out as well.
Amazing bridge. One can totally walk from one end of it to the other. And even back! And its covered so the rain stays of your head. What will they think of next?
Seriously, its one of the many pieces of early American architecture preserved at the Shelburne Museum.
Shelburne Museum in and of itself is absolutely beautiful and full of amazing historical collections. The covered bridge is a beautiful testament to the craftsmanship of old.
Very neat with interesting story
This is a collection of early american houses and buildings, including a lighthouse that was in service on Lake Champlain, a church, a covered bridge, train station with train, and especially a huge steamboat that also was in service on Lake Champlain. There are extensive collections of quilts, household utensils and furnishings and artwork as well. Allow a full day to do it justice.
Very fun and educational. You can spend a whole day here. The food was a little overpriced.
Saw a bunch of turtles in the water while walking over the bridge
Great museum for walking, viewing great collections including priceless artworks. Two days needed to see everything in its beautiful park setting.
Very nice Museum. I love it and I shall come back again next year.
This is part of a large museum known a the Smithsonian of New England. Loads of history here and buildings. The Ticonderoga, a steamship that traveled the waters of Lake Champlain. This was so much fun and very easy to find.
Fascinating structure that is part of the shelburne museum. Easy to drive by and see or walk to on street without paying the admission, but then you would miss out on the great exhibits at the rest of the museum!
The whole museum, including the covered bridge was very interesting and enjoyable. Visit on a nice day because there is a lot of outdoor walking.
It's always neat to see a covered bridge
Nice winter lights
Excellent outdoor museum. Many buildings, each different, plus s railroad car and (incredibly) a genuine paddle wheel steamer.
Loved the Rembrandts and the old Appothicary!! They need more shuddles to move the older people around the 45 acres. Too much for us to walk and see everything.
I found Shelbourne Museum to be very Interesting I enjoyed my Day and would Come Again!
Lots of room to explore. A great place to visit with kids. If they get antsy in one area you can just keep moving.
Loved the whole museum grounds with salvaged buildings, steamship Ticonderoga, wonderful exhibits. Went for half a day, could have spent two days.
So many memories of this bridge. Used to be the entrance to the museum. Now it's a lovely stroll
Good museum. Bring your kids.
Great place to visit, lots to see and do for both children and adults. Admission is for 2 days in a row, in case you miss things on the first day.
Went for holiday lights. Beautiful and peaceful. Well done!
Beautiful bridge but closed in the winter
Great museum, lots of crafts, fine art, historical, mechanical exhibits and more spread out over several acres. A must see.
This was the first time my husband and daughter went and it was a wonderful time for all of us.

Such a great exhibit of the Circus, the Carousel and Toys of a now bygone Era- and much more.
Definitely worth several visits. A great diversity of stuff to do and see.
Steam boat, folk art, and so much beautiful scenery. Not enough time in a one day to see it all.
Nice bridge but couldn't see any water.
Excellent concert venue. Great history lesson and they are very nice and knowledgeable
Shelburne Museum has an antique bridge with a pond. Love the Museum complex, but wish the bridge was in a more
There's a ton of 18th and 19th century history preserved and well cared for here! 👍❤️😃 …
Great view of history. Fascinating variety in addition to the bridge.
Absolutely loved the covered bridge. My phone died though and I didn't get any photos.
Great local history and a nice place to spend a summer afternoon.
I have loved this place since a child period as an adult, I love it more.
Unique and wonderful place. Be prepared to spend the whole day!
Very nice. Blast from the past. Unique and educational. Recommended.
Still in great shape, nice to know it was a previously used as the "wrong way" bridge in my hometown
You can't do it all in one day. Spend the weekend and enjoy.
Our second visit .... beautiful as always 🤗 …

You can visit the school, the pharmacy, the dental office, the barber, the typical shop of various kinds, see the toys and various collections. In the home of a wealthy American family, paintings by Rembrandt, Monet and Manet as well as American authors are visible. You can also visit an old railway station and a sleeping wagon all furnished and a ship that plowed the lake also still fully furnished. All in a beautiful park made up of perfectly kept lawns and trees. In short, absolutely not to be missed for those who go to Burlington Vt.
