Reviews of Cylburn Arboretum
I come here at least a few times a month. This is very close to my condo. It’s a great place to come for a lovely walk. It’s beautiful in the fall, and I am so excited now that spring flowers are beginning to come in. But I even enjoyed walking here in the dead of winter. Also a great place to walk a dog. It’s not huge, but it’s just perfect for a 1/2 hour walk. I come here often as a work break during the week,. Since the pandemic started I’ve been working from home. This is a great place for me to slip out for a little break. It is never over crowded. And there are a lot of people are working very hard to keep this place beautiful
We go here at least a few times a year and have been doing it for 20 plus years. It's nice to go during each season to see all of the trees and plants change. It's relaxing, not crowded, and a great way to spend a few hours. There are walking trails and gardens. If you don't get to see the inside of the Mansion don't worry about it. There isn't much in there to see.
A great park for students to admire nature. It could be enhanced with more signs for the areas, nomenclature of organisms and alternate activities. My first time here and I’d do it again, but after walking the map first. I found it difficult to find areas and signs were diminutive. Loved that there was a virtual scavenger hunt but again, clearer more kid friendly markers would help. Bathrooms were open but no water fountains available, gift shop and greenhouse was closed on a Thursday weekday. A good resource.
This Arboretum is small but spacious. It seems to be in transition right now, both the rose garden and carriage house are under construction. The visitors center and educational areas are nice updated buildings that fit into the landscape. While the mansion is a stand-out both unique and beautiful without being over fancied. It has its charm from the past. The properties care takers are always working, caretaking for plants and cleaning the facilities. Bathrooms have always been clean on my visits. The visiting crowd tends to be families, couples and some poetic looking independents. It’s a great space to spend a day, morning or afternoon to connect with nature. Please beware of ticks in the tall grasses or if you are a tree hugger. Check out the events list- it has activities for all.
Beautiful views. Pleasant walks. Walk around the paths gave me 1.25 miles for one full circle. Not crowded. Clean Bathrooms, not a portable potty. Such a jewel.
Nice area to walk around on a pleasant day! Plenty of parking spaces and admission was free. Leashed dogs are also welcome to walk around the grounds and several other dogs and their owners were seen when we visited.
Bathrooms didn't seem as accessible on the weekends? It seemed that only the greenhouse bathrooms were open.
Breathtaking. This place is such a beautiful and peaceful refuge from the bustle of the surrounding city. I only saw a small part of the grounds today, but what I found was my new sanctuary. Along the edges of the property, there are dedicated park benches nestled under large canopies of trees and lush vegetation. If you visit and happen see a woman blissing out amongst the trees, make sure to give me a wave.
We really our enjoyed our mid-afternoon walk on the grounds of the Cylburn Arboretum. May is a good time to see late flowering dogwood, purple and white alliums, and the first peonies! The formal gardens will be better later in the year as they rely heavily on annuals for color and form.
Nice little walk on a rainy day. Plenty of flowers popping up. Will definitely return in a couple weeks to see the full swing of spring here. Free parking :)
We enjoyed a stroll through the grounds of this old summer home. There were lots of spring blooms. A wonderful green oasis in the middle of Baltimore.
Cylburn Arboretum is a stunning venue for a wedding, offering a unique and natural setting surrounded by beautiful gardens and a historic mansion. The arboretum's peaceful and serene atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic and memorable wedding celebration. The diverse landscape of the grounds offers endless opportunities for stunning photographs, and the knowledgeable staff is dedicated to helping make your special day truly unforgettable. Attended the plant market day. It was really nice. Lots of great vendors. Definitely will go again!
Absolutely love this quiet place and its location to the woods even though there is the distant sound of the city's transports. It's a great place to be without any bother, even when I hug a tree.
I have been coming here for years and no two visits are ever quite the same. The gardens are tranquil, each offering different pops of color throughout the year. Perhaps the most beautiful time to go is during autumn when the leaves are beginning to turn. The bright greens of summer transform into stunning shades of red, yellow, orange, and brown.
Clean, quiet, easy short walking paths which are not too vigorous. Beware of paths marked handicap ~ are not paved and don't really comfortably support wheelchair use though easy to walk. No markings beyond posts at intersections to distinguish trails however the trails are not too long and are interconnected. Very easy for children and difficult to get lost.. Some path areas not available in the fall/winter months.
Beautiful day to ride up there. The Mansion was closed but we walked around beautiful gardens.
My cousin took me to see an event they had and it was nice. Unfortunately it was raining so we couldn't enjoy much of the time there but it was beautiful nonetheless.
Nice relaxing spot. The air is so clean here. Great place for a quiet walk or a picnic.
An absolutely gorgeous property! The gardens and trails are both fun to explore. Plus it was really cool to be able to tour the first floor of the mansion my son and so really wanted to see upstairs but that’s not open to the public. Hopefully they will eventually open it up but still a favorite place to visit.
Quiet trails, not too challenging, making for a nice walk. Free to enter. Buildings are currently closed so can't comment on those but would recommend if you want some fresh air in nice surroundings
I enjoy this place all year round! It’s beautiful and check out the see smell garden. I wish they were open EVERYDAY!!!
Nice mix of paved and natural trails. Wide variety of plants and trees. Open spaces. Good parking.
Gorgeous place, perfect for casual walks and perfect for picnics. A hidden gem of a park and so beautiful, especially when the flowers are blooming.
Everyone in the city should go here at least once and it's a perfect place for a picnic date.
I can not get enough of this place. Not sure if it is the change from year to year, the variety of plants or the lack of crowd, I want to go there again and again. This is such a gem in the middle of Northern Baltimore. If you have never been there, try it once. May be you will be hooked just like I did.
This is a fantastic location. Lots of places to walk, flowers to see and small. Not sure of the Mansion is ever open for tours or not. It would be pretty awesome to walk around in there. Looking in the windows the place looks awesome.
We walked the grounds and took a few trails. One area has a gate and upon closer inspection it was just there to keep the deer out. So we strolled through and enjoyed the quiet serenity of the nature around us.
Oh and how many places can you go to that's free in this day and age? Well here's one and I recommend visiting it.
Perfect place in the city to walk a loop through the trails and pathways weaving through interesting trees and gardens. The grounds are open 8 to 8, buildings and bathrooms are closed due to the pandemic. Next time, I think I'll bring a blanket and a book...
I didn’t think there would be much to this place because of the fact that it was winter but to be honest, there still was a lot to see. I very much enjoyed the walk, and the endangered red wood. I will be returning in spring when everything is in bloom but the view of the mansion from the gardens are beautiful. I was only disappointed that I was not able to view the inside of the mansion as it was closed for a private event... oh well, maybe another time
There is beauty to be found in Baltimore, if you know where to look! Hundreds of naturalized daffodils in bloom, on manicured grounds surrounding an imposing mansion. Built in 1863 in the Victorian Renaissance style, this was the summer home of Jesse Tyson, owner of Allied Chemical. There are formal gardens, hiking trails, and bicycle paths. A very serene place, and I saw many people walking their dogs or just enjoying a family outing.
Such a beautiful autumn Friday at the arboretum! If you're looking for a nice place to have a picnic, read a book, walk around, and gawk at flowers and the leaves changing, this is the place!
This is a lovely area to walk around and enjoy the beauty of nature. I have not had the opportunity to tour the mansion yet (COVID), but I have visited often to enjoy the tulips, the trees and the gardens. There is no admission cost so there is no reason not to go
Lots of info ... Great trails in the middle of park heights
Such a tranquil place on the way into the city. I have visited the Arboretum since before the new building (Vollmer Center) and paved road. It's as beautiful as it ever was.
Take a break from the mundane... find a fairy.... view the azaleas.
Plenty of parking, living classrooms, and the new building is open from 8-5p. Dunno the mansion (Cylburn mansion) hours, but they host events and you can rent the mansion or new building for a fee.
It's worth a visit.
I love this place. It is so beautiful. The trails are nice nd the mansion is gorgeous. It has that old smell that just makes you wonder how was life living there.
Beautiful grounds, easy hiking trails, gorgeous gardens. Perfect for walking, a picnic or quiet meditation
I visited this establishment to attend the vegan love cookout event. I have to say I loved it I met some really nice Queens and enjoyed some pretty good food. I purchased some organic eyeshadow and some smelling great massage oil made with lemongrass and ginger scent. I took a picture with ASE water bottle and The DJ was the bomb.
Another piece of history discovered - good place to enjoy the beauty of nature while learning more about our city.
Very beautiful place to walk through, has nice walking trails, lots of birds and plants. Very peaceful place.
a lovely place to explore. there are tons of trails to explore. i’ll be back! ☺️
A beautiful landscape wooded area and gardens. Grab a blanket and a meal and eat it here in a shady spot
Had so much fun with the family. The view was fantastic. Its Autumn feels there so peaceful and clean❤
This is a hidden gem in Baltimore. The grounds are incredible, there's so many different types of gardens, and the mansion is beautiful to look at. There's lots of trails on the property as well.
The trails were nice and shady. They are an easy stroll and the gardens are pretty. I was surprised to see some hibiscus flowers. The downside is that the mansion is closed on the weekends.
Great place to take kids or pets for a walk. Occasionally has events. Lovely space and is frequently the forgotten gem of open space in Baltimore city
Oh, my! How do you know when you reached heaven? You'll have total peace. Peace is what I experienced on these maticulously kept grounds. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Please visit, you won't be disappointed.
I origi ally wanted to walk around, but it ended up pouring rain and cold. But the mansion was nice a little dissapiubted we could only go stay on the first floor. I did walk around some outside and from the little I saw it was very beautiful. Even sawant few deer.
So peaceful and well kept! Been going here for many years. One of my happy places.
Great place to take a leisurely walk! There are a few wooded trails to explore along with paved paths near the gardens. Some of the arboretum's larger trees are truly breathtaking.
A green gem. Beautiful grounds and very interesting plantings. Was there on a rainy, cool annual Market Day. Great vendors, great offerings. Lots of fun activities for kids and families. Nice walking paths and contemplative spaces.
Nice wooded trails. Beautiful grounds with flower gardens. Arboretum is closed during the pandemic.
I always love visiting Cylburn Arboretum. It's beautiful in any season, and very informative for anyone who wants to learn about plants.
Very nice park to visit. The view is gorgeous.
I wish it was open later in the winter season...at least till 5:30. We get some warm days in February and the son sets close to6p
I love Clyburn Mansion. It was impressive and a fun place to visit. It's a superb place with lots of various plants, and everything is specified. There are a group of different garden areas, some walking trails, and an appealing manner, so something for everyone.
Absolutely gorgeous. A real reprieve from the pressures of urban life. You can stroll, sit on a bench or the grass, smell the flowers, and cool off in the summer at the nice little visitor center.
As an avid plant identifier and lover of cool spaces , recommending Cylburn Arboretum with the addition of a 6th star !
Beautiful in-city green space with a lush , well planted acreage. Beautiful old house and great hiking trails as well. Go check this one out !
The trees and flowers were so beautiful. Was slightly disappointed that the mansion was closed but a good time was had by all.
We used this location for my Granddaughter's photo shoot to celebrate her 1st birthday.
I noticed an event being setup at the Mansion House on the property also. Looks like a great location for Weddings and fundraising events.
For a quiet inner city getaway for a few hours this is a good choice.
Participated in a wonderful guided hike in the woods of Cylburn Arboretum on National Trails Day. I love this park and frequent it many times a year for hiking, garden walks, volunteering, and educational and entertainment programming.
Cylburn is a gem in the city. Great staff. Wonderful event space. Easy access. And a lovely mix of formal gardens/landscaping and well-marked forest trails.
Beautiful trails and gardens to relax, exercise and photography...
I wish the restrooms were open there. Went there on a hot Saturday afternoon, couldn't explore much
The grounds are nice. It would be better if the buildings were open to tour.
It's an amazing place to have picnics, dates or play with kids.
Beautiful landscaping. Lovely waking trails. Fun events. Love this place.
Great location for some portraits. Website says you need a permit however, I made it through with no issues. Fyi also has some great trails if your feeling adventurous
I love to go here with my family and walk the trails. We take pictures and hang out. Beautiful beautiful place
It's a beautiful escape from the city within the city.
I wasn't expecting the really nice trails and it's dog friendly which is great.
A really pretty area. Trees flowering, many different gardens that are set up nicely. Too bad the spring weather was nasty that day. Barely got back to the car and hail storm came. Will go back in April to look at the gardens.
Love Cylburn. One of our favorite weekly walks.
Hidden gem! Flower gardens are a little forgotten rn bc of the pandemic but the grounds are beautiful.
Love this place! Beautiful gardens, walking paths and trails.
Great place to visit or walk. Plenty of parking 2.
It was my first visit, to Cylburn Arboretum, but certainly not my last! It is a beautiful property. Next time I'll walk around - explore. I read that the trees are "labeled", so you know what they are.
It was fun to walk all the trails. I got a great map from the website prior to going. The gardens were lovely. I especially liked that many plants were identified with little signs. Many trees were identified as well. Best of all it was all free. The Mansion was not open which was a disappointment. But overall it was an enjoyable 3 - 4 hours. Also one could take a picnic lunch to enjoy on the lawn.
The late bloom of the flowers was really exceptional right before the fall began you should definitely take a chance and go between late August and early September.
There is a great walking pathway and also a few things to do when the guest center is open.
I could not believe how beautiful it was. My boyfriend loves plants so I took him there to make him happy but I absolutely loved it!
The grounds are beautifully maintained and signage creates great communication and education for visitors. One can feel the intentions and care placed into each garden. Though the facilities were not open during my visit, the appears to be an active educational component here.
A nice place to enjoy trees, trails, and flowers
Beautiful and well maintained area! Lots of parking. The trails are not super well marked, but they are well maintained and you can easily follow the trails. Please note map on their website is hard to follow, but they have a better map outside the visitors center and Alltrails app is up-to-date for the main circle trail.
I use this place for exercising and meditation. It is one of the few places in Baltimore that is very well cared for by volunteers and city staff. More volunteers are needed! The grounds and trails are respected and appreciated. If you are not one that appreciates the beauty of God's creations; please don't visit. This place is still one of the few pleasure to visit in Baltimore City. All thanks to the volunteers and visitors who care.
The most lovely gardens at Baltimore. Getting better every time I visit!!
Beautiful and well maintained grounds with several walking trails. They're are some placed and dinner dirt trails, even dirty trails that we can take our son on with the jogging stroller. We will definitely be coming back.
If you would like to enjoy the beautiful park and a wonderful nature with many species of trees , plants and flowers from all over the world it's the right place to be!
Great place to wonder the grounds and trails. My dogs and I love going there for walks.
My husband surprised me with this beautiful park on my birthday. We had a nice picnic, walked the trails, took pictures of the beautiful scenery. People were masked and abiding by the rules. We will definitely return again
A great park with lots of educational programs. Also a beautiful wedding venue.
Most trees and shrubs are labeled. There are some paved paths and surprisingly extensive wooded paths around the edge of the property. There is a miniature evergreen collection, an electric car charger near the greenhouse. (You cannot tour the greenhouse.) They lock the gates at 5 this time of year. Don't get locked in. Post covid activities still minimal, I believe, but probably will have a plant sale sometime.
Absolutely gorgeous, well manicured gardens and hiking trails. You’d never guess this hidden gem is in the middle of Baltimore. And pet friendly!! Love this place
This is one of our favourite family places to visit. It is wide open in their following all of the coronavirus safety measures. Often, we are the only ones there! The trees are beautiful, the grasses lush, the paths are wide and spacious. Most of the facilities are closed but we live nearby so it really doesn't matter! There plenty of places set and enjoy the well planned out gardens and well tended trees
The paths here are beautiful and shady. You can hear many birds even though you can also hear the traffic on 83 and Northern Parkway. Helpful volunteers pointed out good trails.
A beautiful secluded place to spend an afternoon with the kids. Clyburn Mansion was impressive and a fun place to visit.
Great place for a walk
As a Wedding and Event Planner, I love working at a great venue. Not only is the Cylburn Arboretum beautiful, but it has the most amazing staff! I've coordinated several weddings here and I can't wait for the next one!
It's always peaceful and spacious every time I visit. There are good trails, both paved and unpaved. In the spring, when the trees bloom, you'll find a great variety of flowers and pollinators. The trees are all labeled in case you want to learn more.
It's a magnificent place to find tranquility in Baltimore.
Closed on Mondays.
Always loved going there to take photos! The staff there are very friendly as well!
Cylburn is beautiful. The ground are well kept and you can walk mostly anywhere. The trails are well-maintained and the gardens are lovely. A great place for a picnic or to walk your dog (on leash!). I highly recommend it as a free outdoor activity that's educational and fun.
This is a great place for learning trees: almost all are labelled. There are a few moderately long hikes through the woods and many paved paths in the open. They are not open Mondays. I'm hoping they will have the funding/personnel to stay open past 5 pm.
Peace, beauty and tranquility in the city. It is beautiful.
One of our favorite places. Even though it's in the city, it's like an escape! Beautiful, clean, great trails and little tags on all the plants, flowers and trees with their names. Our dogs LOVE Cylburn ❤ and so do we !
Participated in a daffodil walk, led by women from the Maryland Daffodil Society
This is a great spot for a relaxing stroll through gardens and wooded trails. The crew here keeps the place looking immaculate, and you can tell there is lots of energy devoted to the flora. The staff were friendly and helpful to us when we visited. There could be very different blooms when you visit, so be sure to check back on what's seasonal. What a nice oasis in the middle of the city!
Fantastic spot to take a walk or just relax and enjoy nature. Parking was plentiful and area is well signed.
There is a trail that runs the perimeter of the park if you are looking for a walk in the woods. Otherwise you can walk the grounds and explore the various gardens. Lots of different plants and trees with seating areas throughout. There is also a visitor center and mansion on the grounds and public restrooms. The park is free and open to public year round. It is also dog friendly except for the buildings. Great place to come for a picnic.
There is an amazing atmosphere. Great for walking around on picnics. I attended a cactus sale here and all of the people selling were polite and friendly. The flowers and the trees provide a nice fragrance in the air. It was very peaceful. Me and my friends took a photoshoot there and the pictures were amazing. This place also has informative signs about the trees for curious children or interested adults.
My previous Principal from Montebello received her Doctoral; her husband gave her a formal party there. It was FABULOUS!!!
I love all the trails!
Fantastic spot to sit or walk around and appreciate some nature. Awesome for picnics.
A cool place to detox in the middle of the city. A relaxing and beautiful scene to unwind with your loved ones and have a simple picnic. It has convenient benches everywhere and open from 8am to 8pm. Well maintained and all the different plants are labelled clearly. Must visit, for the history, the knowledge and the charm of it all.
The many flowers, bushes, trees, and trails are worth the visit!
One of the most accessible and enjoyable botanical gardens I've visited. You can follow the trails and see the flora up close. Beautiful and colorful Japanese Maples are the my fav and seeing several healthy Dogwoods made me smile. Also FREE! Great place to end a date or get away.
A "pocket sized" arboretum that is criss-crossed with trails that make it seem much larger. As they should, many of the perennial plantings/trees have markers, but not all. We were there in early spring and there was an abundance of daffodils in bloom, just in time for Easter Sunday. In addition to the folks that were strolling, quite a number were lazing on blankets or picnicking. All in all a nice green oasis in Baltimore.
So Beautiful Here! It Smells So Good!!! A great place to Chill in Nature!
Awesome resource, my favorite place to go for a hike when I don't have time to make it outside the city. The landscaped grounds are beautiful and the trails are wooded and a bit more wild but still well maintained.
Very nice and well-maintained grounds. First visited for Pokémon Go (we all have our things and it's actually a pretty good place for the game), but have returned just to spend time and walk around. The gardens are pretty and generally it isn't busy. The mansion is also an interesting place to walk around when events aren't going on. I recommend checking this arboretum out if you're close by
Nice but not particularly well organized. Didn't get to see many flowers. Slightly disappointing.
A quiet place that I go to Think, meditate, and take my lunch break. And after spending 12 to 16 hours A-day with A N95 on my face it's refreshing to walk through the forest freely 🤔🤔😜😷😷😎 …
Excellent parking lot, lovely trails when not covered in ice. Removed one star because I forgot the cream cheese on my fiance's bagel for our lunch here and my experience is forever marred by the sight of her handling back the engagement ring.
The grounds are very diverse and beautiful. The Victorian mansion has incredible architecture, albeit a little run down. Other than needing a little love it's a worthy place to visit!
It's a beautiful park, wonderful for a nice day out and learning experience, a picnic or even a casual photoshoot. I've also attended a wedding in the Vollmer center and it was absolutely gorgeous.
This place is a little slice of beautiful nature in the middle of Baltimore. There are lots of flowers, walking trails, and gazebos and benches to sit on while you enjoy the view. They also do outdoor yoga sessions on Saturday mornings. It's a great place to go for a stroll, take photos, or have a picnic. Best of all, it's free and open year round! I can't wait to go when the leaves change color.
Holiday greens on sale.
Great gardens and trails. A wonderful place to walk. Very peaceful and relaxing, nice to take in nature.
Great place for a family hike with the dog. Miles of casual to challenging trails that are never far from your car. Lots of people getting family and romantic photos taken today.
An amazing park with a lot of amazing flowers and mansions
Beautiful and well cared for grounds. Lots of paths and trails. We love coming here for walks with our dogs and picnics in the grass.
This is a beautifully kept gem in Baltimore City and is great for a day out with the family or friends or a significant other. I was here for a wedding and wedding reception and it was a blast and beautiful. I imagine it's a great place to visit if you want an hour or two (or more) of solitude and relaxation as the grounds are impeccably kept. There are benches scattered throughout and lots of greenery for your enjoyment. Will definitely be taking a trip back, maybe with just my ear buds or perhaps a good book... or both! Check it out!
We love Cylburn! It's a gorgeous place with lots of different flora, and everything is labeled. There are a bunch of different garden areas, a beautiful manor, and some walking trails, so something for everyone. Great for picnics, photography, or just a day out.
We chose to visit the Arboretum on a picture perfect day!! No clouds a Great place to take pictures.
Why have I visited, then lived in Baltimore all these years and NEVER heard of this wonderful place? Beautiful is an understatement. The grounds are free to visit and walk around. There is plenty to see and the mansion is pretty cool. I saw lots of photographers taking wedding photos. I can't believe I am just now locating this gem!
Cylburn is amazing. Great for kids and families with lots of quick hikes and easy parking. We love to come at least a few times per season to see all the changes.
Very beautiful and peaceful place.
The Cylburn Arboretum is one of my favorite spots to take pictures and portraits. The grounds are always well maintained and the place is super easy to get to. Walk around and take in some of the property and take lots of pics. They are also dog friendly as long as your doggo is leashed.
Peaceful and awesome. All year round, a great place to heal one’s heart. Thankful to all the volunteers that take care of this National Treasure. Great place to be during these sad times
Very beautiful and calming environment. Nice stroll through the partly, picnic, bike rides, or even wedding... great setting for photography.
My daughter had her wedding here and the place was as stunning as it's photos. I would love to retun just to walk the grounds. My only disappointment was my 80 year old 60 pound mom had to walk the path to the main building. When she reached the top she was asthmatic badly. The staff would NOT allow her to be dropped off at the area where the wedding was taking place. That was truly disappointing.
We were told that we would find some Pawpaw. We did.
We were here for a free visit to tour the first floor which was decorated for Christmas. The people there were very friendly and the house boasted some interesting architectural details. Would love to go back when the weather is nice and the gardens are in bloom.
Beautiful place, however.... As a fellow tree expert, I was very disappointed to see that many of the trees are in bad shape and in desperate need of pruning. I'm not sure how the place is funded, but the lawns were pretty well maintained. The buildings were almost perfect. However the trees look like they have been neglected for several years! How they can fix this soon, before it's too late.
Beautiful place to take a walk, relax and enjoy nature in Baltimore City. Very safe and well maintained place. Closed on Mondays, so plan accordingly : )
A beautiful site with a wonderful historic mansion!
Just had a wonderful time at their flower sale and craft event! Parking was a challenge and most of it was not close to the event so be ready to walk. The grounds are well maintained an even so far as labeling the trees along the walking paths. A tour of the mansion is like going back in time. This is a surprising gem in an unassuming neighborhood in Baltimore.
Nice spot for a picnic, short hike ,bike ride, or pHoto shoot. But if you need to use the bathroom plan on going in the woods because the visitor center is closed for lunch from 1:30 or prior to sometime after 3p.
Nice walk!
It was a beautiful area, nice trails and good for the family.
Peaceful place in the middle of the city, beautiful landscape, attractive benches for rest. Enjoyed our visit at most!
Beautiful.
Huge open spaces.
Tons of flowers and colors.
My kids loved the house with the lions... took professional pictures here and it was gorgeous
Delightful arboretum. Has a lot of history to it. You can take a tour of the mansion. They also have a small nature museum. I went to a function there that included a lunch and then a tour of the grounds with one of their plant experts. Lovely time.
They also have hiking trails outside of the deer fence that are enjoyable. On the main grounds there are many plantings and gardens. Most have labels as to what the plant is.
Beautiful, even before spring hits!
Relax on the lawn and benches. Discover mature unique trees, take in the mansion and Nature Museum. Walk the woodland trails and discover. This is my closest best chill place. OH, the Jones Falls Trail drops in here if you are riding Baltimore One Park.
If your looking for a nice relaxing place to get out of the city this would be the place. Awesome Visitor Center along with a cool old mansion. All the trees and plants have lables for the most part. Me and my wife bring our toddler here all the time! Try it out.
Very beautiful and relaxing place, lots of green spaces to sit down and have a picnic, many walking trails to explore, and there a lot of flowers. Dog friendly space.
Such a beautiful place in the spring. Free with a free parking lot and visitor center. I liked the poppies and prickly pear cactus in the gardens in front of the mansion. Nice wooded trails to walk.
What a lovely little escape minutes from home. The paths are cared for but not so much that you feel you are in park. When I need to get a way and decompress but can't take a lot of time, this is my default hideaway. Beautiful in all seasons.
Great view and extremely tranquil 👍👍 …
A wide variety of trails. Cylburn is good for a quick visit to walk through the mansion gardens or you can do a longer walk around the trails. It's dog friendly and gorgeous.
So peaceful and beautiful! A few tables but mostly open space great for a picnic! And the trees are labeled with the type and scientific name. So cool!
It's really nice but sometimes people have photo sessions there and leave behind their trashy confetti. Not the parks fault though.
The Vollmer Center at Cylburn is a master piece of clean, green, contemporary architecture. A stunning venue for anything from weddings to conferences. I attended a lecture there today and it was so easy to navigate, with breathtaking views of the park.
Pro: amazing trails
Con: mansion was closed during normal hours
Beautiful, relaxing and a real treasure.
First time ever coming to this place but I never knew about this place so was use the gps. The GPS had us going in circles one time it took us to the 5100 block then it took us 5400 after that it took us to 5300. Each time it told us we arrived at our destination. We also lost our signal in the GPS and phones which made it even harder to find. But we saw some ppl outside the was taking bags in the house who ended up giving us the direction. Which was right behind her house but you wouldn't be able to see it because of all the trees. When we finally make it to Cylburn Arboretum. The place look gorgeous. The glass walls, the view it is very nice.
A gorgeous place to stroll, meditate and smell the flowers. A true hidden gem of Baltimore. Take a hike along the many paths that surround the main site. Simply beautiful.
Beautiful COVID safe out door place!
We've been here twice this summer and have enjoyed both visits. The outdoor dining space is lovely.
Lovely garden paths.
Lots of paved paths as well as hiking trails. Beautiful gardens. Great grounds for a picnic.
A hidden jewel in the Pimlico area of Baltimore! Peaceful place to have a walk, paint or take a lunch to enjoy in the scenery.
It's a wonderful area to walk and spend time with your family. But there's no children playground or something additional to park.
A lush green oasis right smack in the middle of Baltmore.I wasn't able to access the mansion as there was a group of school age kids having a-camp.I was pushing someone in a wheelchair, there was a loop of trails that led to greenhouses and gardens.I was told that at least one garden had a soft trail, didn't attempt it.thought that more things might be available on weekends. It was a pleasant place with a helpful staff. It was free.I just dropped in,next time I'll check it out on google first.
Nice trails for a simple short walks. Some parts are a work in process but all in all it a pleasant place.
