Dr. Iris is like a family person; even though it was my first time visiting, I felt like I was a part of the True Eyes family. Bridgette helped me choose my new computer frame and explained my insurance. Massive collection of frames for men and women. I can't wait to try on my first prescribed computer glass!

Dr. Testke is awesome. I’ve been going to him for eye exams since about 2018. I always have a great experience there. Today, after my visit I met with Shelia. She was phenomenal! She took her time with me and patiently reviewed my vision benefits and my budget. Then, she helped pick the most fabulous glasses for me. True Eye experts was a great visit. All staff were very professional, nice, cheerful, and especially associate Sheila. Sheila made me feel better on picking glasses, my confidence in having to wear glasses daily. She took the time to make sure I understood everything and felt comfortable with my decision, she even got other staff members involved in helping choose glasses. Friendly, professional eye appointment. Very thorough eye exam, with modern imaging equipment to view my eyes in various ways - and go over all the images with me. Excellent exam and explanation from the doctor, including a recommendation for no changer in my prescription (or new glasses). Great service from Norma at the front desk, who helped me save some money with my insurance that I didn't expect. Very friendly and efficient overall, and a good exam.

I had a wonderful experience here today. The staff are so warm and welcoming! Julia at the desk helped accommodate me for my appointment time change. During my eye exams both tech and doc were so informative and positive. The staff that helped me pick out my frames were so fun and professional- AJ made it so easy and made me feel comfortable. Dr. Teske is amazing--always professional and genuinely caring. He is friendly and always remembers me and my husband. Thorough with his examinations, he goes to great lengths to explain what is going on with my eyes. His staff is top notch and, while it can be a bit hectic in the front area, everyone is professional and takes good care of me. Moreover, they offer a wide range of frames and lenses. Overall, I highly recommend this practice.

The receptionist is very friendly n helpful, I did not have eye insurance but she still took time to double check for me, the doctor n assistant are very professional n friendly, the equipment n process is very up to date n pleasantly smooth. And the customer service Sheila is super helpful n professional n co workers helped me choose right glasses for me. I got sunglass n vision glass both. If I decide on contact , I go back there. Visited True Eye Experts of New Tampa recently for an ongoing eye issue. Dr. Sam Teske and staff were incredibly patient and thorough while diagnosing the trouble and developing a treatment plan. State of the art equipment along with the knowledgeable staff made the experience very comfortable as they provided instruction and explained what each testing procedure was meant to identify. Dr. Sam then provided an in-depth analysis of the results and next steps. Could not be happier or more appreciative for the care I received at True Eye! My only regret is not coming here sooner! True Eye experts is a really great place. I’ve taken my two kids, 8 and 5, here since my daughter was 5. They are so patient with the kids. A special shout-out to Sheila and Jaqueline this time. Tried to schedule appointments for our family just to be told we could only schedule 2 people per day per family- this never used to be an issue before. We travel to this location from Plant City because service used to be great. Will be finding a new eye doctor that can accept and accommodate 5 appointments. Edit: Office manager did reach out and offered us an appointment that accommodated our family back to back. Edit #2 (appointment day). Check in was a little rough but once checked in the appointment process went fast/ smoothly. The doctors and assistants are great (Blake and Hannah) this being a reason we come to this office. One of my daughters ended up needing glasses. The lady who helped us with the glasses (Ana) was GREAT and spent a lot of time with us and helped my daughter find the perfect first pair of glasses. One of the other techs (Sheila) who was helping my mother out was extremely rude and short with her. Ana ended up taking care of my mother after that. Lastly, billing seems to be off, apparently my husband had a balance from last year that we found out about a year later- interesting that a call(s),text, email or bill was not sent, as these forms of communication seem to work for your appointment reminders/ glasses pick up.

Easy to make the appointment at a very convenient time and place, check in from my phone so no paperwork waiting for me to complete at the time of the appointment, very friendly staff helping me to feel welcome. I had an outstanding experience here. The doctor was excellent, her name was Dr mercer. Also the young lady who helped me with the eyeglasses her name was Stephanie she was extremely patient, super kind and tried her best to explain everything so that I would have a knowledge of the glasses that I was going to purchase. The only drawback, was the expense. 10 years ago eyeglasses only cost $150 to $200, but now they're crossing upwards of four or five hundred dollars. And unfortunately that goes along with everything else today, with gas at $5 or more a gallon. But if you're in need of having your eyes checked, or you need to get a new pair of glasses, this is the place to go.

Great facility in the new Tampa area. Don’t fall into the trap of CRT lenses. These lenses gives you better vision for 6 to 8 hours during day time. Never improves the vision in long run as assured by the CRT experts.

I have been a patient of Dr.Teske's for many years. I remember when it was a pleasure to visit the practice. However, I continue to be very disappointed in the poor service that has developed over the years. It seems the larger the practice becomes, the more the quality of service declines. When calling, it's not possible to speak with a local representative. Instead, the caller has to speak with the impersonal likes of a call center! Over time, I've become disappointed. Mo was with the practice for a long time, and stood out as the exception, because he provided good customer service, as though you were the only customer he had. As an update, it seems the quality of service is improving. However, the call center has to go!

The office staff was very friendly. The tech who completed the scans in the beginning was fine, but could have been a little more friendly. There was a very short wait for my scheduled appointment time. The doctor was thorough and explained my scans and made the exam more fun with her cheerful demeanor. The optician was awesome. I told her what type of frames I typically like and she found my style right away. She asked how I use my glasses and was able to recommend the best lenses and treatments for the lenses based on my daily use. 😊

I've had 3 appts here in the past 3 years. I've seen Dr. Matsukado the last 2 times and she is very kind, takes her time, and the appointment does not feel rushed. She doesn't leave until all of my questions are answered, and she speaks to you in terms you can understand. Great five star customer service. I did not feel pressured to buy new frames, which some eye doctors do I guess to make more of a profit. Insurance doesn't cover much, but that's my employer's insurance plan problem not theirs. Overall great experience. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a new eye doctor.

I have been seeing Dr Teske for several years now . He’s a very personable and knowledgeable optometrist.. I always appreciate the retinal imaging that the office does at routine exams and Dr Teske’s approach at conveying the health of my eye in relation to the the images . I also appreciate that it’s not necessary to have my eyes dilated for the images . The staff are always courteous and efficient , and the waiting and exam rooms are clean and comfortable .

Eye exam is extremely thorough, and they have a ton of state of the art technology. Staff is great, communication is great, Dr. Teske is awesome and listens to all your concerns. Have not ordered eyewear there so can’t comment on that part, but they do have a good selection of quality frames.

Great office for everything related to eyes. I first went for eye glasses. The people helping with glasses purchases were very knowledgeable. The glasses I chose were well designed with important safety features such as blue light protection. Then they also had a deal on prescription sunglasses, so I got a very affordable pair that I love. Later, I went for eye irritation and they took great care of me. I had some debris removed from my eye without pain. It was definitely the right place for me to go and made me feel safe in the office during the pandemic. I plan to return for any future eye needs.

I do not have vision insurance and found their prices to be a bit high, but it was so worth it. I was given the option to pay with a credit card or finance it. I decided to finance because they offered no interest. I had a complete very thorough exam and even though I was late to my appointment I didn't feel rush. They even took pictures of my eyeballs, I've never had that done. They screened me for glaucoma and even made sure my contacts fit properly. The Dr. gave me a trial pair of contacts to try out until I was ready to buy. The staff was extremely friendly and answered all my questions. I would definitely be going back

I never leave reviews but I have to say I am compelled to do so with my most recent visit. 1. My appointment was at 3:45pm, I was not taken back to be seen until 4:25. 2. Once seen by technician it was smooth, she really had her flow and moved me right through all the tests. Until, it was time to go back to the room for the exam with the doctor. They gave my room away! I was sent right back out to the waiting room. Another 35 minutes and I was finally brought back into the room to see the doctor 3. I was told my right eye has a astigmatism and I was given new contacts to try for a week. Great! Thank you! 4. I go to order the contacts offline and I am told that the Daily total 1’s contacts for astigmatism are not being released until March 1st. Well that’s a problem, I only have 10 pairs left (it’s Feb 8th). 5. I call back to True Eye experts who says “well you can order them from us and it will take 10 Days to get to you”. True Eye is always on the extremely high side for contact prices. I spent ~868 dollars on contacts there my first trip only to find out 1800 contacts had the exact same for 550. I will never order contacts through True Eye again, just for this very reason. 6. I ask that since I only have 10 pairs left and given this entire experience leaves much to be desired may I please have a few more pairs of samples to hold me over until March 1st. The response was “ no, we don’t have any to give you.” Yes you do, you sent a box home with me to try, remember? “Oh I mean no, I can’t give you anymore samples.” Looks like I need to make these last 10 pair of contacts which are now technically the wrong prescription (my vision also changed in addition to the astigmatism) last until March 1st. I will not be back- I’m sure you could care less as your customer service clearly shows. The two stars is only given because Dr. Teske is a good doctor. I can’t rate the office alone or that would get a 0. Update. Also I just verified the contacts recommended to me are not available until march— why are we giving samples to something that is unable to be broadly purchased?? And then refusing to support the gap between appointment and release date?? Sheesh. Update 2: True Eye called me today and is doing their best to make this right and apologized for how the situation was handled. They are sending me some additional samples to hold me over until the release date of my contacts. Thank you to who I spoke to and for actually taking the time to look into and validate what I was saying and to take the time to help. At the end of the day that’s all I wanted.

I moved out of town over 5 years ago and still make it a point to travel back to Tampa for them. This is my second set of glasses I have gotten from the Eye Doctors and I am VERY pleased. The staff is very professional and always polite and eager to help you in any way they can. They work very hard to make sure the glasses fit well and that your vision is as good as it can be. I will say that the glasses are a little more than you can get elsewhere, but the quality is excellent and they will make sure they are correct. My first 2 pair (regular and sunglasses) lasted 3 years with no breakage. The glasses were the Varillux with Crizal coating and the sunglasses were polarized. They are perfect and I highly recommend them. I also purchased VSP vision insurance and that saved me good amount too.

I’ve been wearing progressive lenses and contacts for the past few years and love them. Just recently, the Eye Doctors recommended I get “Computer” glasses. I’ve been wearing the computer glasses for the past week while working in my office or on an airplane. I’m amazed at how well they work and no more neck aches or headaches. They provide protection against glare and the blue light that is known to be harmful for your eyes. If you work on a computer for more than an hour or 2 a day, I would highly recommend computer glasses. Love mine and thankful that the Eye Doctors recommended them!

My husband and I have been using The Eye Doctors for years now. The doctors , exams and eye care is excellent. However customer service is not. I Went for my annual exam the 3rd week of May and ordered new contact lens which I was told would be in within a week or less. One week later a young lady called me to ask how my new lens were. When I told her I had not even received them yet she looked on her computer and then apologized because they were NOT even ordered ! She said they would be in within a week. I called a week later and was told that the lens were on back order and it would take an additional 7-14 days. Almost the end of June and still no lens ! I took my prescription to Wal-Mart. The lens were delivered to my door within 48 hours !!! This is the second time this has happened to us. I'll continue to get eye care there but they've lost by confidence in ordering lens .

I called Dr. Teske this morning, as I was having an acute problem, and he made an appointment for me immediately. I have been seeing him for some years now, as has the rest of my family. I never previously took the opportunity to write a formal review, but I am now compelled. As a physician myself, I can honestly say that he has a bedside manner which is second-to-none. Attributes which simply cannot be taught. And his fund of knowledge is spectacular. He explains things in such a way, that there is essentially nothing left to ask him, because he covers it all. I would put him among the best clinicians I’ve ever known, and in any specialty. I would be remiss if I didn’t comment on the operation of the practice itself. It is truly a well-oiled machine. From the moment you walk thru the door, until the second you leave, there is incredible professionalism, courtesy, and direction. The staff actually look happy to be there. Honestly, I think someone would have to be a glutton for punishment to go anywhere else, relatively-speaking, because this is an elite practice.

It is hard to find an optometrist who can do a good job tweaking the prescription for multi focal contacts. A great eye exam experience – two thumbs up! The Eye Doctors is unique in its ability to do high-end ophthalmic imaging and diagnostics, so I got a detailed exam on my eye health in addition to the usual check on my refraction/prescription. The experience started with entering a very sleek modern facility and getting a warm upbeat welcoming at the front desk. In just a few minutes, the optical tech Kevin took me in to do the optical imaging on several high tech machines (no drops or puffs of air like the old days). He explained what each measurement did and how the doctor was going to use it to assess the health of my eyes. He handed me over to Mai, who assisted Dr. Teske, recording the exam findings and diagnosis while the Dr. stayed focused on me. The office is all-digital, so the images that Kevin took, were on the screen in the exam room for the Dr. to study. Both Kevin and the doctor talked to me about what I do and what my eyes are called to do for me – every person is unique. He explained what was going on medically with my eyes, the prognosis, and why I needed the prescription change. I then went to the optical glasses part of the store to talk about glasses for the new prescription. Kevin had just shifted from the medical side of the store to the optical side – the guy is amazing… he went from talking about laser imaging and ophthalmic details to helping me decide on the right glasses for my face. A freakin’ magician! With all the frames available in the store, he explained the styles that would be best on my face and why, then picked out some options for me to try on. I’m like his dad’s age, and yet he got me some great frames that are older-stylish and not like the usual old-fart frumpy ones. He spent over an hour with me getting the frames selected and ordered – I noticed the other customers getting the same focused attention in this part of the experience, whether a mother with kids or a younger millennial. The Eye Doctors of New Tampa is setting the 21st century standard for what an eye exam will be in the future.

The employees were fantastic all around. Sheila especially was personable, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Overall a great experience and will be coming back for my own eye exam.
