Had a visit for an exam and the doctor was very pleasant. The blonde woman who checked me out had a bit of an attitude, and never smiled which I found odd, since she had been joking around with coworkers when I initially walked in. I assume I will continue going there as it was fine. Whoever runs the place might be a branch covidian as they were all wearing masks, too bad about that.

Clean, easy, enjoyable. It's been a while since I've had my eyes checked, but I was impressed by the technology and how easy it was to get data from my eyeballs. The whole process was pleasant and Dr. Amann seemed knowledgeable, friendly, and well-spoken (great at explaining). My wait was a little longer than I would have expected once in the room, but they protectively apologized and I believe them when they expressed that's not the norm. I'll be back and am happy to recommend Fontana. *DRIVING TIP. Btw, keep your head on a swivel as you drive up to the location. Google maps tried making it harder than it needed to be to turn in. It directed me down a neighborhood road (Sulphur Ave) and instructed me to take a left onto the main road (Chippewa) to then take another left into the parking lot. When in fact you could take a direct left into the parking lot from Sulphur. Or, just save yourself the trouble and take Hampton to Chippewa, head west and it's just a half mile down the road on the right. (As of May 2022: 6451 Chippewa)

My experience at this clinic was great. I came in primarily for contact refills, I was in and out quickly. I visited in July of 2020 and everything was very clean. The staff made checking in, checking out and everything in between very easy. Dr, Kempf is great ; really friendly, professional, relatable and easy to communicate concerns with. I received my contacts in less than a week. I highly recommend this doctor and the staff at Fontana Eyecare.

My family has been going there for about four years. The doctor and head staff are really nice and great service. SOME of the office staff needs to follow suit. Not all of them are very friendly or as helpful as the doctor and head staff are. Other than that it's a pretty good place to get glasses and eyes exam. I'm hoping this would help SOME of the front desk workers to be friendlier/ better service.

I had a few issues with my glasses and contacts but Dr.Kempf and his staff were quick to assist with fixing the problem (caused by the lab not the office). Have been going here since Dr Fontana was my doctor in high school years ago. Today I saw Dr Jeffery Kempf. Started with tests given by one of the assistants in the office who was wonderful and thorough. Dr Kempf then examined my eyes and addressed the ongoing problems with vertigo/dizziness I have been having. He prescribed the corrective lenses I'm confident will help resolve the problem and have follow up visit scheduled. There is no one I would trust more for my eye care. The entire staff was kind and helpful, very professional from the minute I walked in until I left. You will be very pleased with their services. HAD A FOLLOW UP VISIT ABOUT 6 WEEKS AFTER GETTING PRISM GLASSES. THE PRISM NEEDED TO BE INCREASED AND DR KEMPF WORKED WITH ME TO GET THE ADJUSTMENT TAKEN CARE OF. HE IS TERRIFIC AND IS DOING EVERYTHING POSSIBLE TO CORRECT MY DOUBLE VISION AND IT IS WORKING. THE OFFICE STAFF IS SO PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY AND GO OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP AND ANSWER QUESTIONS. If you are considering a new Eye Doctor or if you’re even looking for Your 1st Eye Doctor (Especially, if you’re looking for your 1st Eye Doctor) for yourself or for your children/the whole family, then I would highly recommend going to Fontana Eyecare! Because having your eyes checked & cared for is one of the most important things you can do and unfortunately, its also one of the most “taken for granted” gifts from God that we have. I have been going here for 16 years. We have followed Dr. K from Belleville to now St. Louis with one way being an hour and twenty minute drive. It's completely worth it! My family has tested Dr. Kempfs skills with everything. Glasses, contacts (crt and soft), metal and another time concrete in eyes. Autoimmune disorders that affect the eyes. Not only is he, but also his staff is always professional and knowledgeable. They always give you the most afforable option available, they are not there to empty your pockets but to meet all your vision needs!! As long as he is in practice I won't be trusting my families vision to anyone but him.
