Alan has shown amazing professionalism mixed with thoughtful consideration of my unusual eye problems. He took as much time as needed to get my glasses and contact prescriptions to the highest level of vision possible. He is willing to forgo profit at times in the interest of what he feels is fair business practice. He is the ultimate in customer service and we don’t see that care much anymore. He explained so completely every step of the process in a way that I felt confident in making decisions. He is the BEST at bedside manners! I will always recommend Claire Optical knowing that you will be in the best hands with decades of experience and the biggest heartfelt care around!

I will never go anywhere else! This review is about a month over due. I purchased some contacts for my daughter and when they arrived they were the wrong brand. I called the office to let them know and Alan ordered us the right ones and he also PERSONALLY drove to my house and brought us some contacts to get us by until the new ones came in! (they are dailies) It was above and beyond nice of him to do that for us. The customer service is outstanding and his willingness to help is amazing!

Years ago, I received invaluable medical help, so as not to lose the wonderful gift of sight. Cornea transplants for keratoconus. From the beginning I have struggled to adapt to my new circumstance. I have always counted on the help of wonderful vision professionals, for the question of glasses. I cannot say how awesome the staff of Clair Optical is. I have keratakonus. My contact lenses require specialty skills found nowhere else. I needed a new prescription. I just had my eye mapped and had the paperwork in hand and wanted to drop it off and make an appointment for the following week. Allen was suffering from a migraine, but, rather than waiting for the next available appointment, he checked me out and had a new prescription ready to send to the lab. Amazing service.

I genuinely cannot recommend Clair Optical enough. I was referred to Alan by The Eye Institute of Utah when I was diagnosed with Keratoconus back in 2019 and after I'd gotten the cross-linking procedure done. Alan is one of the most kind and caring people I've met and I couldn't be more thankful for the time and thought he's put into making sure that I'm in the best possible place with my eyesight. I've got a pretty complicated situation with my eyes and he's always completely dedicated to making sure I'm taken care of and that my vision is as good as it can be. On top of being very skilled in his work, he's incredibly honest and transparent in how he works with his customers. I've felt so cared for over the last few years and I'm really looking forward to continuing to go here.

I don’t live here to go here but I would. I came here in desperation to fix my glasses that only lost its screw. These are the only glasses I brought and so I didn’t know what to do. They took them with ease. I usually go to Americas best in Colorado and the one at Brick turned me away very abruptly and rudely.

My wife has very sever Keratoconus and needs special scleral contacts which requires experience and intense fitting by a highly qualified optician. Alan and Clair Optical was the recommendation from the eye surgeon. Alan took the time to not only properly fit the lens, but to explain the fitting process and teach how to effectively use the lens. He went out of his way to make the experience positive and productive. Five stars is not enough for Alan and Clair optical !!!

I was referred to Dr. Alan by a friend after being diagnosed with Kerataconus. I couldn’t believe the time and the care Dr. Alan and his staff provided me during my visit. Old school customer service with a genuine smile still exists!! This isn’t one of those high volume turn and burn optical shops. I felt valued as a customer and not rushed through the eye exam process. A week later I was set with a brand new RX of scleral contacts and glasses. I trust Dr. Alan and highly recommend him to family and friends. You won’t be disappointed.

I lost a RGP contact and did not have a back up (all on me). Alan was out for COVID related the day I was searching everywhere for a doctor to measure me for a new one. On the same day he got cleared he personally called me and squeezed me in that same day as early as I preferred. He took the time to get to know me personally and shared his wonderful childhood and family stories. Felt just like a good friend I haven’t seen in several years. I was told by an eye physician around 8 years ago that I couldn't get contacts because of my eye prescription being too high. After not being able to get LASIK because of the same reason, I was recommended to Alan... I was skeptical but he delivered and made contact lenses that worked as well as my glasses (even a little better). After 25 years of using glasses, I don't have to carry their weight on my face anymore! I think my favorite part is being able to see fine with sunglasses on! Truly thankful for Alan and his team. At Clair Optical, Alan and his staff have been providing myself and my family great care for a number of years. Both Alan and Darlene feel like family and know us and our vision issues well. I recently went to a new eye doc for contact lens and it was a fiasco with several visits required for wrong measurements. So I did what I should have done in the first place, I saw Alan and he worked his magic to get the problem fixed. My teenage daughter wanted contacts and Alan spent extra time and care educating her about the use and care required, but also had her practice in the office until she felt comfortable with the process. Alan also helped my daughter with colored contacts for Halloween that made my daughter over the moon about her costume. That kind of customer service in this day and age is unheard of, but we get that kind of service EVERY time we go in. Thanks to Alan and his staff for the great care over the years! You are a one of a kind business.

We have had a very long road with my sons eye, at the age of 3 he got eye surgery that didn't go the way it needed to and so they had to go in and fix it again. Being tossed back and forth between several doctors, a team of doctors I didn't feel as if things were going to get better until I had a straight forward conversation with the doctors. At this point it was what ever we need to do to try and correct the vision we need to do and we need to do it now, and that when we got referred to Alan. At first we were expecting the same story of sugar coatings and false hopes as that's what we knew for the past three years. To my surprise Alan is absolutely amazing, just the first 5 min in talking with him and plan of actions he suggested we knew that there was light at the end of the tunnel and hope what my family so desperately needed, was in site and things we going to be better. Alan, cares a great deal about his patients and the quality of vision and life. at least that is what my wife and I feel. We are so grateful of him and only wish that he was recommended way sooner than when we did cause I think that we would be in a different boat then were we are now, but we are very optimistic and believe that we will get there eventually its just going to take a little longer. Already we have seen huge improvements and my son has told us that he can see way better now then he ever did and that was on the ride home from Alans office. So my son who is 6 saying something like that something that isn't hinted or forced We believe we are in great hands of a miracle worker cause at this stage that is what we are needing. Dr. Allen is amazing. I am a challenging patient for anyone to fit contacts to because of several issues I have with my eyes. But Allen is always able to get me seeing much better than I thought possible! He is patient, he listens to me, and he works to ensure I am seeing the absolute best that I can. I love this place. The selection of frames and lenses is great but what really sets it apart is the staff and level of service they provide. I love going in and seeing the same familiar faces and they are always so kind and helpful. They always go out of their way to make sure the needs of their customers are taken care of. For example, the last time I needed to place an order it turned out I needed to sample some contacts before placing the order. The problem was I had just given birth to a new baby a few days beforehand and wasn’t able to make it in to pick up the samples. To my surprise and delight, Alan and his wife offered to drop the samples off at my house that very same evening. Who does that kind of stuff anymore?! I was so grateful and impressed. These guys really are top notch. Not to mention, they are a local business, which I would much rather give my business to than a chain. Thanks Claire Optical!

The Experts at Clair Optical were able to create solutions for severe, and uneven keratoconus with degenerative cornea afflictions in both eyes. The last glasses I got were from the Mayo Clinic in MN; and these were every bit as professional. Truly masterful at analysis of the blurry vision, double vision, nearsightedness, irregular astigmatism, and light sensitivity, which severely effected my work, driving and general well being. When lasik is NOT an option, please get an appointment with Clair Optical for lenses and contacts created for each eye, with the affliction solution per eye. I stumbled upon the place by accident and when I was looking for a place to fill my RX for contacts on my way to work. I had no idea what kind of an experience I was going to have when I saw it, but the best customer service I have ever received across any industry has seriously come from Allen at this location!!! He is the grandson of the original owner and very proud of what he does. Makes every effort to treat you the way he would want to be treated and always knows about deals, rebates, and opportunities for you to get the most out of your penny. The passion these people have about eyeware and the industry is phenomenal and easy to see. Very patient and never makes you feel bad for taking your time to think things through or try different products on — in fact, the environment is very comfortable and easy to be at ease in. The lighting is well done and the place is kept clean. Only thing I wish is that they did eye exams so that I could get the complete package and all my needs met at one place (but there is a place literally right next door I’ve been told does them and will consider trying next time I need one done). Update: ...a couple years later and the service is still just as fantastic and hasn’t dropped in quality one bit!

We finally found the right eyeware specialist for my wife who has cornea transplants in both eyes. Dr. Alan was recommended as the best by our new cornea specialist Dr. Zavadi at the eye institute. We paid $600.00 2 years ago for contacts and my wife only wore them maybe for 1hr and never wore them again. After watching Dr. Alan fit my wife for contacts and explain to us how different her eye shape is and trying custom contacts to fit he finally found one after several tries that fit so comfortable my wife couldn't believe how comfortable they felt....the previous contacts we paid for were one-size-fits-all with her eyeglass prescription....I finally understood why my wife wouldn't wear them. When we left my wife commented that his contacts prescription was clearer than her glasses she's wearing. We will be using him for eyeglasses too now. Thank you Dr. Alan.

Alan and his employees are honest, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile. Having considered glasses for some time, I had difficulty finding the perfect pair. Absolutely fabulous! I was recently diagnosed this year with Kerataconus and had to undergo surgery on my right eye. The left eye is also supposed to have a cornea transplant within the next 2 years. With no prescription lenses or glasses for my condition, I was so frustrated and thought I would be blind for months until my eyes were both fully recovered from surgery. After seeing 3 different optometrists, and feeling hopeless, I was finally referred to Clair Optical by a kind optometrist assistant at The Eye Institute of Utah. The first visit, I was in so much pain from the right eye, and Dr. Alan Seyboldt (I apologize if I spelt incorrectly) could tell I was really struggling that morning. He called the Institute right away and got me in the same day to see my doctor due to a transplant rejection occurring. He was kind and patient the whole time. I was a little upset (ok alot) that I could not get my left eye seeing that day, but I knew that I had to take care of my right eye immediately. Alan understood this and I feel he really cares for the patient and not their money. Other optometrists probably would have gone ahead and tried to fit my left eye with me in pain. I can honestly say Alan was 10 x's more professional and caring about my condition, than the 3 optometrists I saw put all together. I made another appointment to see him the following week, and I am now on my third visit with my lense already in! I CAN ACTUALLY SEE AGAIN IN MY LEFT EYE! Thank you so much again Alan and Clair Optical staff! I am truly grateful for you. You are over and beyond amazing at what you do. 😆😆😆😆

Alan Seyboldt at Clair Optical quite literally changed my life!! I CAN SEE!! Clair Optical is the reason to shop local. People who own and run this shop live in our community and run a business that is genuinely interested in helping people and not the fast sale. My wife and I have purchased several pairs of glasses here. The knowledge and level of service is top notch. We recently brought in a pair that had broken. They fixed then on the spot under warrantee. It is hard to find this kind of service. I don't shop around when it comes to eyewear. I just go to Clair and the take care of us.
