First time visitor with an appointment with Dr Carl Corrow . He is the man: attentive, informed, and wicked smaht. Got lots and lots of info about my particular work type/office setup. Yeah, eyewear is expensive; no way around that, but at least the consult and recommendations are sound.

My experience has been that I get conflicting information from different staff members on multiple occasions. I’ve left so many messages for the optical office with no callbacks… I called in November to request a pair of replacement glasses for my child using the insurance we paid for and kept being told there was a staff shortage and someone would call me back. I finally got through a month ago only to be told that I didn’t need to wait to get a callback that I can just walk in! I walked in and I was told that I needed to make an appointment! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I also have to mention that the front desk receptionists are incredibly rude, don’t acknowledge you, and seem bothered that you’re there. In the time that I have used advanced eye care I think I’ve only had one person be nice at the front desk. This is definitely the last time we will get our glasses there it just isn’t worth the hassle.

They’re very very slow. The ppl working at the front desk are always chatty and laughing with each other, ignoring you waiting there. I’ve also called in before, hearing them chatting and then hanging up on me… I’m grateful for the doctor’s help which have improved my eyes, but it’s not so pleasant in terms of the whole visiting experience.

I found this place by accident when I had to see a Dr for a personal issue (non emergency). I walked in and explained my situation and they immediately helped me and managed to get me seen by a Dr. extremely helpful. On top of that I must say at this place the Doctors take time to talk to you and treat you like a patient. I am not used to that. Most medical offices nowadays get you in and out quickly. This place was the opposite. Excellent “bed side manners”.

I have been with this medical practice for over 10yrs. In my humble opinion, it has gotten better and BETTER AND BETTER every year. From the moment you walk into the front desk to the moment you leave the building, the patient is well taken care of! The entire staff are professional and courteous. The billing is excellent and any issues are taken the extra mile towards a resolution. My optometrist, Dr. Matthew Doyle, explains everything with such detail that one can understand in layman terms. He exudes what a doctor should be...he cares for his patients and it shows. My children, now young men, go here also. I am sure other places are just as great but for me, THERE IS NO OTHER PRACTICE I SEE MYSELF GOING.

The process was efficient and caring but most of all, I received a thorough and understandable explanation of my eye issues by my doctor. Unlike other optometrists, I was walked through the photos taken of my eyes, provided an analysis of my eye anatomy and together we discussed expectations for coming appointments. Loved this place. During COVID, this practice took extra precaution into how they let people in and how they conducted exams. And, I was very impressed with Dr. Cox. I had my baby with me the day of my eye exam. My baby screamed during the entire exam, and Dr. Cox was able to remain patient and conduct the exam so I didn't have to reschedule! :)

I have had the best eye care here! Recently, I was seen for an urgent visit, and was told to come right in. Yes, I did wait, but Remember, I was not originally a scheduled patient for this day, so I expected to wait, I was really appreciative and so grateful that they were able to accommodate me so quickly. This is a very busy office, but when being seen, these doctors take their time with you, they explain everything. The front office staff has always been very friendly, Tanya, Michelle and all of the front desk staff are very nice. I have never had a bad experience here. This is a top notch office. My husband and I have been patients here for YEARS but this was our first visit during the pandemic. They have done an excellent job trying to be sure we are all safe with many procedures in place. Sanitizing before and after each procedure. Our exams with the tech notions were thorough, as always, and our exam with Dr. Carl Corrow is always the best with him keeping in mind many of our other health issues that effect our eyes. Our whole extended family goes here and we’d highly recommend!!

My experience with Advanced Eye Care was nothing but professional. I went in for my annual check up. Alex was super nice and very personable. She was also very detailed and prepared me for the eye tests I was going to go through. Dr. John was kind and gave me the most thorough eye exam and listened to the issues I had with my contacts. I was very impressed with the staff and service this office provides. I also liked the fact they have an optic shop with so many frames to choose from. From now on this will be my one- stop-shop for all my eye care needs. And just found out they are open on Saturday’s too. I’m so confident with their work I made an appointment for my kids. It’s so nice to know my eyes are in good hands. Thank you!

First visit post shutdown....quick and easy! Everyone just as friendly except I was asked to wear a cloth mask to look at glasses....so I left instead. I wear a face shield. I can get glasses elsewhere. That wasn’t acceptable however it was at my internist’s office.I’ve been to several doctors there and they have all been excellent! All friendly and take the time to answer questions. They got me in for an emergency appointment very easily! I DO recommend Advanced Eye Care Associates to my co- workers, friends and family.

The whole staff always has been friendly and professional for the several years I've been a patient. Dr. John Corrow closely and patiently listens, then customizes your visit; does not simply follow a standard office visit template. He's very good at explaining your situation and options as well as other people's experiences with those options. When needing to decide between a handful of contacts to solve a dry-eye situation, he was very willing to spend extra time fitting me with a variety of contacts to ensure I found the best ones for me. Just a great group of people.

2021: I just read another review that gave the office a one. I didn't know that we couldn't go inside either until I opened the front door and it said it so there was no excuse to go past the rope that was there the people at the front desk are very professional possibly the woman was looking out for her co-workers with this person coming in and walking past the rope with the big sign that said to call to check in. 2021: This is my second year with this office and besides the fact that the dr had to explain something to me in a way that I could understand, which I loved, they are covid ready! This office is on top of everything with disinfecting and cleaning 2020: The doctor I saw was very nice and explained to me that my prescription changed. The front office staff was very nice also

Overall very professional. Got into the office pretty quickly. I waited between 5-to-10 minutes after checking in at the receptionist’s desk. My tests done rapidly, but with proper attention. Doctor and their assistant spent time getting to know you and to answer your questions. Only thing I would suggest need improvement is friendliness of the front desk staff.

Dr Doyle is wonderful. The assistants that do the eye scans are great. But the front desk staff leave a lot to be desired. Never friendly, it seems more like patients are pests. They're not openly hostile, but they damn sure are rude.

I feel comfortable and respected by everyone I come in contact with. There is a genuine concern for the care of the patient. I Just moved to the Providence area and have been searching for a quality eye doctor. I researched Numerous places and Advanced Eye Care stood out among others as far as experience and better reviews. I gave them a try and not only did they meet the expectations they went above them. They were very efficient and thorough. Doctor Boyle was professional, very knowledgeable and really took the time to make sure I comprehended and understood everything. I'm happy to say he will be my new eye doctor and this is where I will be going from now on.

While I consider Dr. Doyle to be extremely professional and very thorough, I have found that often times he is running late and I end up waiting impatiently in the exam room for long periods of time...today it was 45 minutes! I understand that things happen and emergency situations may arise but this has happened on more than one occasion...Just wish the office wouldn’t try to squeeze in so many patients in one day!

I had a great experience until checking out.I asked for a prescription and Sally was upset that I had asked for it and complained to me how none of the doctors provide a prescription, when I got the prescription it was illegible. I told Sally if I couldn’t read the numbers how was the person who fills the prescription. Her reply was they can just call us.Why should I have to deal with that if I don’t have to? This girl made a pleasant office visit to an unpleasant one.This girl is a cancer on an office staff who were pleasant and efficient.

I've been going to Advanced Eye Care for more than 20 years and yes things have changed somewhat. All new staff. My eye doctor retired as did many of the long term employees retired. My thoughts are to give the new employees a chance! I ordered glasses 3 years ago which took more than 4 weeks to come whereas before I only waited 5 to 6 days. During my last visit which was about a week ago, my new glasses were ready in 7 days. That was great. Now my comments about the new staff. They are all young girls who seem to just gotten out of college. They will learn with experience as the time goes along. Yes, I adored my original eye doctor (Dr. Auclair) and the other staff members, but they have a right to retire when their time comes. We all hate change, but that's how life is. My new eye doctor is fantastic. My visit this time was great. A couple of years ago, I did leave because the new staff was a little bit slower and I was not satisfied that my glasses took just about a month to come, but decided that's where my records were for over 20 years and I have a strong history with Advanced Eye Care so why not give them all a chance to get that experience and grow. If you have an issue, bring it up to management. Don't hide behind the keyboard and sound off. Let management know. Sound off respectively and with dignity.

I’ve had a lot of eye doctors in my life but dr. Doyle is the first to really explain what is happening in my eye to me. There is sometimes a wait if you schedule late in the day but I love how many days this place is open. Great eye doctor! Takes state health insurance too!

This is probably a fine place if you don’t have any abnormalities with your eyes. The eye doctor looked at my eyes and pronounced me “good” before handing me a new prescription (He didn’t tell me it had changed). He also didn’t notice or maybe just didn’t mention that I have an astigmatism in both eyes, as well as anoxic spots on my corneas. I would not be comfortable going here for anything other than routine we care with completely healthy eyes.

My eye exam was great I called on Wednesday and they were able to schedule my appointment the next day at 11:30am. I walked in as a guest tine patient and was out within a half hour. Only thing that was weird was I was put on hold while on the phone. I somehow got connected to an incoming call from aapatient trying to make an appointment as well.

What can be said about the exams? They examined my eyes. I did ask questions about our eyes and how they progressively deteriorate with time. The doctor did take the time to answer my questions which I was grateful for. The technician worked quickly. All in all, it took longer than I thought it would.

Been going to this doctor for years and years. Usually have a good experience, but lately it has been going down hill. I have felt as if others have said and the doctors have become used car sales men. Although I could not tell I had something wrong with my eyes years back and was told my only option was to go to daily contacts which cost me 300$ a year. I dealt with it and figured it was best for eyes, and since then my eyes have been "fine." However once again problems have arisen with this doctors office. I have had to go back and forth with my insurance and the eye company because my services were not paid since the eye doctors office put through that I had a medical condition and that was the reason for my visit. The problem was I was there for my annual and nothing else I did not even have a medical reason to be there. When I called I was told that RI doctors do not need referrals for medical visits they thought. Again, I reminded the billing lady that I did not have a medical reason so that should not even come into play. Meanwhile, I am going to go back and check with my insurance company for all my visits and see how they were billed. My father and grandmother have recently had similar billing issues. Lastly, they are trying to make more money from you because when you visit they now charge 50$ extra if you have contacts. Not for a fitting just if you have contacts. They say there are several more tests they need to perform when you have contacts that the insurance does not cover. Unfortunately, when I went to my annual my visit was over an hour and I met with the actual doctor for 10 minutes. How many more test can they conduct in 10 minutes. That means they get $3,000 an hour if they do 10 clients with contacts. Imagine if you made $3,000 an hour. I have been a client since I was in 3rd grade and it was Dr. Klibanoffs practice. He was a tough man, but it has become too much of a money making business at the office. Wish it would go back to when Dr. Corrow first started there.

Dr Corrow was a pleasure to have as my eye Dr. he worked to find a solution until he did. I thought I was doomed to having to go back to glasses. I would recommend him and the office to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic. Very professional and methodical. They also have a retail section where you can be very specific with your lens order and get exactly what you asked for - unlike a popular local chain. on the retail side, you can pick from a variety of lens frames, but what's more important is that you can order very specifically what frames you want. When I have gone to another retailer that's local, and I ordered Crizal lenses and transition lenses, I ended up with the store brand coating and some cheap tinted coating that peeled off within a few weeks. This retail establishment is not like that. You order specifically what brand of coating and what brand of lenses you want and they will deliver exactly what you ordered. I'm very particular like this and I had a very hard time finding some actually take specific orders and deliver them. Some places will say they are and then deliver something else. The only option for me previously was go online to get what I wanted. But I don't have to do that anymore because I can go to the store, and with something comfortable ordering it from someone local rather than trusting it to the internet.

Advanced Eye Care Associates (AECA) is located on North Main Street in Providence, RI. This Optometry office has a huge, well-planned office design. As you walk into the office, the Nurses' checkin station is toward the left. Beyond the station, you will see eyewear of all types from Couture to basic eyewear. To the right of the Nurses'checkin station, is a elaborate waiting room. I appreciate my doctor, Dr. Carl Corrow. Usually, there is a wait but, it is not long. Dr. Corrow is professional, friendly and has a professional and knowledgeable staff.
