Best Eye Doctor in Maine! Maybe the Universe! Dr Giles offers state of the art preventative equipment to ensure heathy eyes and detect problem early! I recommend Giles to a friend and Dr. Giles caught a problem early, and now my friend is seeing clear and colors are more vibrant! Dr. Giles really cares and spends quality time getting to know his patients. The best quality in a Dr. The entire office feels like a team/family and is welcoming! Jim, the optic professional is amazing! I could hang with Jim all day! Awesome glasses at a great price and Jim can order glasses to fit your personality! The office will text with you if that is your preferred communication! Love it! Overall AMAZING team!

My visit with Dr. Giles was nothing short of fantastic. The experience from start to finish was smooth — and the staff were friendly and helpful. Dr. Giles provided a solid annual examination and some excellent medical advice too. And because they have an eyeglass store in the office, I was able to place my order for new lenses & frames on the spot. A true one-stop shop!

Everyone was super nice and explained what every test was for. The doctor took the time to show me what they look for in my eye health and pointed out aspects of interest in my own eye anatomy. The optometrist was really patient and searched for the perfect frames in response to all my whims. I highly recommend Giles eyecare. What a great team!

I have been going to Giles Eye Care for almost 16 years and while the office staff has changed over the years, the quality of care the I have received from Dr. Giles has not. Thorough, kind, patient and knowledgeable are all accurate descriptions of Dr. Tracy Giles, not to mention he has a sharp wit and dry sense of humor. I have always bought my glasses through his office as well, it may be cheaper to go to one of the big one hour places, but Jim has always been extremely helpful in assisting me with picking out just the right frames. I would never go anyplace else for my eye care.

My initial reason for choosing Giles Eye Care was because I wanted to get lenses put into two pairs of vintage frames, and I read that the bigger places don't always like to do that. Whether or not that's true, I don't know. Regardless of what your reason is, this place is an amazing eye-care center. Dr. Giles was extremely nice and allowed a lot of time for questions/concerns. The women at the front desk are also very nice. The optician - James/Jim - is awesome. Super friendly and talented. He put the prescription lenses in my vintage sunglasses and they are perfect. Although I didn't purchase my frames directly from them, they DO have a very large selection, getting new frames in all the time they said. I would definitely recommend going here over anywhere else around.

Everyone at this practice is friendly and willing to go way above and beyond to ensure the comfort of the patients old and new. I have recommended the practice and will continue to do so. Giles eye care is great. Office staff are OK...Dr. Giles is terrific. He is very astute at explaining stuff relative to the knowledge level of his audience. Not condescending or long-winded. Down to earth. You can tell he is extremely knowledgeable and up to speed with what's going on in the optometry world. The gentleman that fits glasses spent almost an hour with me trying to fit frames that worked for me. For the most part he cared how they looked more than I did, which I appreciated. A+.

Finally! I've tried at least 5 different eye care specialists in my 20+ years in the Greater Portland area. Other places I tried had hidden costs, different staff every time I visited, over-done waiting and show-rooms, and so on. I was looking for the right combination of professionalism, comfort, and cost, and at the recommendation of 2 friends, I tried Giles Eye Care. My first impression was of a clean and well organized office with a friendly professional staff - to go along with a very reasonable exam cost. Dr. Giles himself performed a thorough and unhurried exam, thoroughly explained results, and patiently answered all questions. He also took the time to go over questions I had when I picked up my glasses, even though I didn't have an appointment with him. Interestingly, for the first time, I didn't feel any pressure to purchase glasses at the same place I got the exam. I did get them there, though, and I'm glad I did. Their selection of frames is "just right", staff was prompt and efficient, and again very friendly. Overall, I can't see (no pun intended) why anyone would want to go anywhere else for their eyecare in the Portland area.

The staff and service at Giles Eye Care have been absolutely wonderful! Tracy himself is exceptionally knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain issues and solutions in detail, and the staff has been wonderful about getting me in during eye emergencies. I feel absolutely confident about the quality of care that I have and will get there. I"ve been going there sporadically for a decade now, and I don't have a single complaint.

I've been a patient here for many years and am completely happy with Dr. Giles and his level of care for my prescription accuracy. Even better, I am a person who, in the past, has avoided buying frames at the "eye doctor's office" but they carry a great selection and Jim always helps me find a pair that is flattering to my face. The pricing is very reasonable considering that he searches for affordable, quality frames and avoids the designer brand pricing. They are also true to the warranty for scratches lenses. Heading over to look at frames today!

I needed glasses for the first time, and came here. I was really happy with my experience. Dr. Giles spent a long time with me, and answered all of my questions. Jim was great and gave me all the advice I needed to get a pair of glasses that worked for me. I was anxious about wearing glasses and my first eye exam, but the experience was great. I would definitely recommend this practice.

Dr Giles is pleasant, low key, and very competent, and the office staff is similarly competent and pleasant (though in the past the office staff has been a weak link). The star of this rodeo in my opinion, though, is Jim, the guy who helps you to fit glasses, order them, keep them in repair, and doing so with your economy in mind. Jim is pleasant, affable, and the best at doing what he does in my 66 years of experience on this planet.

I had an excellent experience here. I suspected that after several years, I needed a stronger prescription for my reading glasses. Dr. Giles is a friendly guy and confirmed that one eye did need a prescription change. He suggested that If I liked my current frame, that I could keep them, and the optician could insert the new lenses. I appreciated that suggestion which saved me some money. Professional staff. I'd go back.

On several occasions, he has suggested purchase options which not only provided us with high-quality lenses and frames, but also saved us money The office staff has always been very helpful in scheduling convenient appointments and facilitating insurance reimbursement. It's good to trade with a locally owned & operated practice instead of at a franchise of a national chain. There's an underlying feeling that they appreciate our business and will do whatever's necessary to maintain our relationship.
