The store was busy when I went in but I was seen quickly. Friendly and light-hearted staff was efficient with myself and the other customers. I picked up very reasonably priced frames. They said they would send a text when my glasses were done within the hour and 25 minutes, they were. When I went back to pick up my glasses, the store was even busier but I waited less than 5 minutes and was out the door. Highly recommended!

I visited the Maine Mall location of Eyemart Express to get my three-year-old son‘s first pair of glasses. The gentleman that helped us was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through getting our first pair for our son. We got a great deal on getting two pairs. Our first pair was ready in only 21 minutes. Our second pair will be ready in another week since we opted for the transitions. We will certainly visit again for all of our future eyeglass needs.

Store was very understaffed and from what I gathered many regular employees were out sick and they had staff from other states here helping out. The associate who helped me was from the Carolina’s and she was wonderful. Despite it being busy and understaffed everyone was friendly and things moved quickly. I’ve been going to Eyemart Express for years because of their large selection of wider frames and reasonable prices and I will continue to come back!

Pro tip: always get the lens protection!! It's totally worth it! There is no place around that can make glasses as fast and that goes as far as they do to help you! Even if a mistake is made they always go above and beyond to correct it, and that is what customer service is really about.. thank you south Portland eyemart.

It is so easy to stop in and get your new glasses made quickly. In less then 30 minutes they had both pairs done. They were short handed like everyone today but they worked through the list quickly. The only holdups I saw were other customers who did not use their wait time preparing for their turn by picking out frames.

The first eyeglass store (in Portland) we went to had no customers and 2 employees but told us we would need an appointment and they did not offer same day glasses. We left and I googled "same day glasses" and discovered Eyemart Express. I called and was told no appointment necessary to just come in. The selection of Eyewear was amazing, my 14 year old son found a pair he loved (to my surprise) and was wearing them 2 hours later. The staff was knowledgeable and even processed a claim through our insurance saving us $.

I’m extremely happy with the service I’ve gotten at Eyemart express by the Maine Mall. I recently got a new prescription from the Optometrist next door (who was also great), then went to EyeMart Express to pick out frames & have the glasses made. They were very patient with all my questions (progressive lenses) and helped me find the right frame/lens combination. They texted me when they were ready to pick up, but I had trouble getting there to pick them up during office hours. I tried again today but got there an hour after they closed. As I was driving in, their manager(?) was pulling out & saw me. He was kind enough to turn around, drive back to the office & waive me in, then got my glasses for me & made sure that they fit appropriately, etc. This was way “over & above” the level of customer service that I’d expect anywhere and I’m very thankful for his help!

Purchased a pair of regular and sunglasses progressive frames and lenses at the South Portland Maine Store Saturday October 16 2021. The women that helped me was great. Knowledgeable and super polite. She was only filling in at that store for the day due to the staffing shortages as were the other two women working who were also very polite and helpful. I have gone to Eyemart Express for years. I have always been very satisfied with how fast my glasses get done. Most of the time, glasses get done in a few hours. Furthermore, I have had the insurance on the lens of my son’s glasses who is severely autistic. As you may imagine, the glasses would get scratched often. Their insurance always covered replacement no questions asked within the time they were covered.

Store is short staffed like many other establishments during this time but this doesn't stop every technician from doing a great job. You can tell they are dedicated to making sure the glasses are what the client needs. I got to witness them troubleshoot an issue with a pair of glasses for a customer and they were working hard to find the problem and make the glasses right. They also are so helpful with making sure the glasses fit well on new or current glasses. Than and the staff do a great job! Thank you for another pair of glasses that I love. I will continue to purchase my prescription glasses from them.

Karen is delightful! With four kids and 3 that wear glasses, a broken glasses emergency is bound to happen sooner or later. I called late in the afternoon on a Monday and Karen answered. She helped calmed my frantic nerves and told me to bring my youngest in as soon as I got out of work. Once arriving she remembered me and had my daughter pick out new frames. The experience was so quick and painless. That woman alone is the reason I will forever go back there! Karen needs a raise. Wasn’t sure what to expect for service. We sat down for a minute and we were asked how can we help you picked out a pair of frames and asked if they could but lenses in my older frames. They said no problem and measured the frames and glasses and said they would be around a hour. We went across to the mall and was only about half way through and I got a text saying glasses are ready! Went back over tried them on and I swear I could see better than going to my own eye doctor!! I would definitely go back to Eyemart for my next pair!! Saved about 185.00 to boot!!!!!

I was in town for a family emergency, from 2,000 miles away and my glasses lens inconveniently came out. I happened by this store, turned in, and the gentleman behind the counter kindly took my mess of lens, frame and screw, repaired and cleaned them. I would have paid for this, but he did not charge even though I am not a customer. If I lived in Maine, this would be my eyeglass center. My boyfriend broke his glasses and could not see a thing, his prescription for his lens has to be special ordered, which meant 2 weeks not being able to see. Than than took his old lens and fit them into a frame, turned out that it worked perfectly .... we left with a pair of glasses to get him though until his new ones were completed. So awesome! We went on a Saturday and the store was quite busy but the staff was very friendly and efficient. My son and I both needed specs and worked with Brian. He may have been the manager but had the attitude and pride as if his name was on the sign. Super helpful explaining my insurance benefits and how to maximize them. My expectations were low, but these guys were wonderful. We had to wait a bit to get seen as they were busy, but once we were in they were professional and helpful. I lost my primary pair of glasses (don't judge - I have dogs). After looking for a week, I couldn't do without any longer and went to EyeMart Express in South Portland for a QUICK, CHEAP pair of glasses to get me by until I found or replaced the lost pair. Mission accomplished. Good Frames, inexpensive lenses provided quickly. These are plastic lenses with no bells or whistles (no scratch resistance, shatter resistance, UV protection, color changes, glare resistance) - but they are progressives and cost about $100. I also found frames that I liked as well or better than my originals, and ordered them with all the bells and whistles... 2-3 weeks. Both pairs for much less than paid for my original glasses. I agree with other reviewers that the Customer process could be improved, which I think would increase their base and profitability - but everyone I dealt with was professional and nice. Overall, very good experience.

They were having a special and I got two complete pairs of glasses, I really liked for about $160! I had gone to the mall prior and all the glasses that looked good on me were 250-400$ JUST the frames!!!! I was told at at first that they would not take my insurance. So I wouldn't call my insurance find out if they were within the network and they were the insurance agency called the South Portland Maine star and then I was able to get my glasses but it took a while because other insurance thanks I had to spend like 3 hours there and it shouldn't have taken me more than a couple of hours

When I went back she helped me adjust them and made sure they would fit well before I left. My RX changes and I get a new pair of glasses almost every year. This particular time 2/09/19, the customer service was totally amazing. It was busy, and I was not the ideal customer - I had to split my payment between two cards. I am truly impressed with the quality of these glasses vs. the low price point for two pairs. Thinking back to two years ago when I purchased glasses last and $170 was paid for by the Lions Club and another $80 was paid by me, for glasses that I just started wearing the beginning of this year. The progressives were difficult to use. I had to keep bobbing my head up and down (anyone watching me might think I was trying to bob for apples). I only had to have minor adjustments done to one pair and the other was perfect. How’s that for on point. Very happy, indeed.

My experience was a very positive one. I was concerned about going with the COVID-19 stuff. I went on the Eyemart Express Website to see how they were handling COVID-19 in the store. I felt very confident after reading it and upon arriving at Eyemart Express and watching what was going on inside. You can go to the mall or get something to eat while you wait. You will get a text when your glasses are ready, they will call you if you don’t come get them.

The wait wasn't too bad to be seen by someone. The prices were reasonable but about the same as anywhere else - WalMart etc. However very little was available for same day pick-up. It takes 1 1/2 to 2 weeks for your glasses to come in. Their ad says 100s of frames available for pick up in about an hour. There were no where near that amount - in fact what they had for one day pick up was very little and of poor quality and design.

My husband went in to get a prescription with Dr Cedrone and said it was one of the best eye exams he's had. He got two decent pairs of glasses on sale with progressives for 95$. Wasn't exactly the pair he wanted but you can't shake a stick at the price, and the ones he chose were actually pretty handsome on him. I go in for my appointment soon! Great affordable. If you want to get in and out quickly your best bet is to not wait for your glasses. Go have lunch or shop then either come back to pick up, or first thing the next morning. Otherwise, be prepared for DMV like waits from hell

Darren was most attentive to my needs and answered my questions completely. As a senior citizen, I've had far too many experiences in which I've been talked down to. Darren's people skills and sensitivity to his customer serve him well. Having spent many years in the customer service industry, I am aware of the skill set necessary to greet each customer with the same level of professionalism. He possesses that skill set. I was most impressed when, toward the end of the day, I returned to pick up my glasses and found he was as kind and caring after a hectic day as he was hours earlier. While he explained all my purchase options, he didn't pressure me with upselling. I would recommend Eyemart Express -- and especially Darren -- without hesitation. The glasses are pretty terrific, too!
