I've gone to see Dr. HaverKamp 3 times now and I had a great experience every time! Very prompt, informative, and great interpersonal skills -very important for someone who finds connecting and communicating with others a little difficult. I have to commend the nurse who prepped me for the visit! Very friendly and had such a calming presence (always nervous for some reason going to any and all medial/dental appointments). I would highly recommend this location and doctor!

I was sent here from the convenient MD Care which would have been 1 hour wait and they knew I couldn’t wait that long. This was a way better experience at eye care after I poked my eye out on a tree and was having serious eye pain. They were able to see me right away when I walked and see how bad the scratch was and get me fixed up with healing contacts and eye drops. Took 3 visits with them to get back to normal and well worth it so “eye” can see again! Good as new!

I wrote a review after my first visit but had to do another one just for the front end staff. The lady’s that order and help fit the glasses and I’m sure a million other things are so awesome. Really genuine and listen to your concerns. They really make it seem like your picking frames with a good friend which is so unique. The people really make the place and so long as this staff is there then this is the #1 place around.

Staff was great, patient while I fumbled around trying to get my insurance info for the exam. The technician that took the pictures for my exam was patient with me as well, I'm very sensitive with stuff around my eyes. The exam was great! Only bummer is they didn't accept my insurance for the frames and lenses so I took my prescription else where to get my new glasses.

They are super professional, in a beautiful facility with state of the art medical devices for examining and assuring the patient's eye health. I see Dr. Eric Roush, whom I liked very much. I have MaineCare and Eye Care & Eye Wear Center of Maine is one of the few offices that accepts my health insurance. I was excited to see such great reviews of the office prior to my appointment. The entire staff from the front desk, the technicians, the doctor, to the opticians were friendly, helpful, and responsive. The office itself was inviting, clean, and tidy. I met with Dr. Jennifer Haverkamp following some vision issues and because I had never had an eye appointment before, I was unsure of what to expect. Both Dr. Haverkamp and the technicians talked me through everything from the tests/imaging to the actual consultation regarding my issues. Dr. Haverkamp intently listened to me and offered very thoughtful advice and recommendations. The optician side of the office was also great - a wonderful selection of frames, knowledgeable staff, and a variety of options for ordering. 10/10 I would recommend this office to anyone looking for a local optometrist/optician.

My eye exam was thorough, all of my questions were answered with ease and knowledgeably and I felt as if I was there for less time than I was. I never felt rushed through even when meeting with my new eye Dr. She was very pleasant and straight forward, confident and knowledgeable, which I have to say was an amazing switch from what I have been use too with past Dr. experiences. I was able to leave feeling like I have a much better understanding of my eye health, as well as feeling like I had new information on how to better care for my eye health. For me, this was not a small thing, this appt really helped me restore some of my faith in the healthcare community. I really want them to know how well they are doing and express my gratitude for their help and kindness. While I was there I also made an appt for my one of my children to have a routine eye exam and have to say I am actually looking forward to seeing them again for that appt. Dr. Roush was, and has always been, professional and thorough.. I had hoped for a better outcome but he explained what the problem was with my vision and that he was only capable of making a minor improvement in it until a retinal cyst was treated and that, in his view, the cost of getting a new pair of glasses would not be recommended at this time. I'll see him again in a few months after I have more eye injections to treat the cyst

These treatments, Lipiflow and IPL are wonderful, life changing in fact. Constantly dealing with "drops" became quite stressful. The staff also is wonderful and very helpful. Definitely a patient centered practice!

My experience here was top notch. I had a very thorough diagnosis and Dr. Roush really took the time to go over everything with me and all my options. I need contact lenses and he let me sample single vision and multifocal contact lenses. If you are a skier seeing at this level of detail is a must. We are lucky to have such a great and caring eye doctor right here in Westbrook.

Went to Dr Gauvreau for my annual eye exam. Dr Gauvreau found I had mild cataracts and referred me to Maine Eye. Dr Gauvreau and his staff are very professional and they get you in and get you out! After my cataract surgery through Maine Eye, I went back to Dr. Gauvreau for a follow up. His assistant checked my eyes and then he came in to check my eyes. Everything was great! He wrote the RX and gave to Shawn, the technician. She was wonderful!

I love Eye Care Eye Wear Center of Maine. I’ve been going there for approx 15 years. Dr. Havercamp is wonderful and has really helped me with my dry-eye problems. When it comes time to pick out frames, Aida is a rockstar. She has great instincts and will tell you the truth about what does, and doesn’t, look great on you, I promise! I visited on September 2, 2020, and they were taking every possible COVID-19 precaution, including having someone staffed at the door to screen patients. I felt as safe as one can possibly feel when needing to leave the house during this pandemic.

Normally I would rate this place an easy 4.5+ because they do great work and I've been bringing 5 family members here for years and I've been coming here since they opened in Westbrook many many years ago. BUT, yesterday I just found out they no longer take my VSP Vision Plan Insurance beginning September 1, 2016. I am in shock because I've lost a great benefit and it will cost me LOTS more out of pocket. Eyecare and Eyewear are now "out of network" with VSP Vision Insurance. Also, Eyecare and Eyewear supposedly sent out a letter explaining why they dropped the insurance, but I never received a copy until I asked for one in their office yesterday. Needless to say, I love the staff and the doctors and the quality care I have seen there for over 20 years, but because of this I may need to switch to some other place. I'll still need to call the VSP Vision Plan Insurance people to hear their side of this, but at the moment I am very very disappointed!!!!!
