I’ve been going to the same eye doctor from the age of 12 - 25 years old. So when I moved from my hometown to Philadelphia, I spent so much time researching different eye doctors to make sure I found one that I could stick with long term. I cannot recommend City Ave Eye Care enough!!! Every single interaction and appointment I’ve had with them has been amazing. Since I am a new patient, I was set up for a quick appointment with Dr. Belfer to make sure my trial contacts fit comfortably and my vision was okay. She was incredibly warm (and hilarious!) and got me in and out of the office in less than 10 minutes (without feeling rushed). I immediately felt welcome and comfortable and knew I could ask whatever questions I had. Nolan — who works at the front desk — was also incredibly kind and helpful when checking me in and out for my appointment. I couldn’t be happier with my eye car since switching my care over to them!

Just had my first visit here and it completely changed my view about how medical care should be delivered in this country! From appointment scheduling, to check in, to the exam, to check out, everything was SO easy and streamlined. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and Dr. Belfer was so knowledgeable and helpful. I feel so lucky that I know about this practice, and I will be recommending it to my friends and family!

I needed lenses with my updated prescription made and put into the frames that I use everyday. I called two places and went to one and was told by all it was impossible without taking my frames for up to ten business days, which I could not accommodate because I need them to see. America's Best in King of Prussia even made me wait 50 minutes, with only two other customers in the store and 7 employees working, only to quickly tell me it can not be done. Then I went to City Ave Care. My first interaction was with the customer service rep TJ who was very nice and very helpful. He said he believed it could be done and proceeded to take all my info. Once that was complete his supervisor Alicia came out, and once understanding the situation immediately showed her eagerness to help. She explained that frames were needed and had the idea to call three other area branches to see if they had an identical pair for sale that could be sent to the lab in place of mine. None did. Then, still determined to assist with my situation, she called the in-store tech expert who said he could cut the lenses in house to fit the frames. Alicia spent nearly twenty minutes trying to find a solution for me, while all the others dismissively sent me away in less than five. Her genuine customer care and effort are not only greatly appreciated, but have earned her store a customer for life.

I got my lashes done and the fumes went into my right eye and cause some Irritation and redness. Allison (eye doctor)was extremely helpful and reassures that everything is going to be fine and prescribed antibiotic drop to help with the scratch. She is great , knowledgeable and very sweet and friendly. I guess eye care is not for annual visit but also emergency visit👀😎👩🏼‍⚕️🩺

I love this place! It’s really the vibes! Everyone is super cute ! Alicia was so nice and helpful and the conversation was flowing like i was talking to one of my home girls! Jahvy was also super helpful and got started on my glasses right away ( love that for me ). Everyone was so accommodating! the music playlist is great and it’s nice and clean. Dr. Belfer gave me the most thorough exam and answered all of my questions. Anyone coming to be seen should request her as their doctor. I recently had a horrible experience at an optometrist’s office leaving me reticent to try again…thank God for City Ave Eye! From the second I walked in I felt well taken care of and CARED FOR. A wonderful young man, I believe his name was Jahvy, helped me pick out my perfect pair of glasses. Not only were the glasses options broad-ranging in style and price but the staff take good care to sanitize the glasses in between wears making me feel extra covid-safe. The store itself is beautiful and clean. I was talked through the whole process of purchasing my glasses and given a quick timeline for their completion. I’m so late writing the review (life 😂) I had the best experience I didn’t know I would receive from an eye care place so I had to do it ! anyway… I love this place ! I brought my kids in for exams the beginning of this month and it was a great experience! It was pretty busy the day we were there but the staff was so good I was in & out.The staff, especially the lady who gave them their test before their actual exam(I forget her name sorry! I believe it was mya) was so patient with my littles ! Not to mention the place is beautiful with up to date technology & a vast selection of frames. I’m so glad I found this hidden gem !

I visited City Ave Eye Care during lunchtime yesterday and upon entering it was clear that this shop is a level above. Clean, orderly aesthetic and friendly, welcoming staff consisting of 3 employees (Alicia, Michelle, Samiyah). Each one took the time to say hello and offer a smile. As I browsed, they found the right time to ask questions and offer advice without being "salesy" salespeople. Their recommendations were great - not necessarily directed toward the most expensive brands in the store (which is common in other eyeglass shops I've visited). Instead, they suggested a mix of shapes, styles, and price points that showed they took the time to notice what I was partial to, and what made sense for my face. I'm a picky shopper and all three ladies were knowledgeable and super patient with me. Verifying insurance was quick and easy. "A-la-carte" add-ons were explained without being pushed. Michelle even worked it into her schedule to cut my lenses that day, so I was able to come back after work and pick them up. Convenient, fast, easy...overall outstanding experience. Can't recommend this store enough!

Despite keeping my name (S.A.) out for privacy, I feel compelled to write a review about the superlative care and service I received on September 7th, 2022. My appointment was booked by Jahvy, whose pleasant demeanor and professionalism served as an accurate indicator of the experience to come. I was warmly welcomed by Samiah and Alicia; Alicia worked diligently to confirm what was (and wasn't) covered my insurance. Then she patiently answered questions about what I could ask the company in order to avail myself of benefits best suited to my needs. Dr. Belfer's deftly combined an amiable personality with unintrusive, investigative conversation which quickly revealed the best courses of action for me. It felt tailored to me and was reminiscent of a bygone era when a patient was treated as a whole person as opposed to merely symptoms or prescription strength. It's something I've missed since the doctor who cared for my eyes -and my father's- retired. I wish everyone in the practice well. May they always be the recipients of the integrity and goodwill which are clearly the ethos of all who work there.

One of the easiest ophthalmology experiences I’ve had, the doctor was very nice, answered all questions I had. I had all the time I wanted to look for my glasses frames of choice. Jahvy helped me pick glasses, make sure you ask for Jahvy, he makes you feel like an old friend and is as real as it gets. I’m pretty indecisive, but with his help I knew exactly what my frames were. He also explained what type on lenses are best for me, and went through my costs and what my insurance covered in great detail. I can’t wait for my glasses to come in!

(Note while out shopping, I had walked in without an appointment for the purpose of seeing what they offered). The property is spacious and very clean. I was further impressed that I could get an examination on the spot. They definitely use newer technology. During the examination, I was treated with both care and respect. The doctor explained the test results in an easy to understand way. I continued through the process of selecting a beautiful frame at an affordable cost (not a mortgage payment rate). I received a well left voicemail to pick up my glasses in less than a week. I tried them on, was very satisfied with the outcome and was on my way out the door in less than 15 minutes. Let me start by saying that the staff was the most welcoming and friendliest I’ve experienced at any eye care center ever! Due to my condition, I have to get my eyes checked multiple times a year. So when I moved to the mainline area I decided to visit a new practice that was close to home. I took a chance on a brand new office and boy was it the best decision I’ve made in a long time! Like I stated, the staff was the BEST! I saw Dr. JT and I couldn’t recommend seeing her enough. She provided a fresh/young take on my current condition that I never really got anywhere else.

I stopped going to the local optometrist in Roxborough I'd been seeing for two years due to the ongoing rudeness of staff there, which prompted me to try City Avenue Eye Care. I'm SO glad I made the switch! What an awesome office and staff, from the moment I walked in the door and was greeted. Clean and modern, with the option of not having to dilate my eyes with drops but just quickly peer into a machine for a high tech scan. The doctor tested my vision, explained my scan, and wrote me a prescription. Then the three really friendly people working (I only remember TJ's name - sorry!) helped me choose frames. At no point did I have to wait. I now see why there were so many other five star reviews for this business. :)
