Dr. Josh was friendly, efficient, and explained everything that was going on during the appointment which made me feel like I was in great hands. I was in and out quickly and got exactly what I needed to update my prescription. Jon at the front desk will make sure you’re well taken care of while you wait and he’s got great recommendations for food or coffee in the neighborhood once you’re appointment is finished.

My experience with River Lake Clinic was a very good one. I received an appt quickly after I called to request one. My appointment day and time went smoothly,m having met with the person at the receptionist desk. The time I met with the person helping me choose frames. And she was friendly and very helpful. At that point, I was given eye tests prior to waiting for the Optician. This was the only time spent greater than 10 minutes waiting. The Optician's exam was done efficiently, having had the exam explained thoroughly. It certainly helped having a scribe in the exam room as an assistant for the doctor. I am very satisfied with the services during my visit. I will be returning.

I have been coming to River Lake Clinic for quite some time, seeing Dr. Mike and now seeing Dr. Josh. Both doctors are professional, kind, compassionate, engaging and brilliant! The technology used to assess your eyes is far greater than the standard chain optometrists. They make suggestions on the whole body, including supplements and eye wash/drops. Everyone at the office consistently give great service and ensure you’re taken care of. During my last visit, the COVID protocols in place made me feel as if they are taking precautions for their staff and customers health very seriously. I cannot recommend River Lake Clinic enough!

Dr. Mike at Riverlake Clinic is professional and passionate about eye care. He has all the latest digital equipment and I feel confident that I am receiving the best possible care. He prescribed me a pair of rigid gas permeable bi-focal contact lenses that no other doctor in town has. Even though I am 65, I can see up close and long distance without readers. I would highly recommend Riverlake Clinic to everyone

Great clinic. Dr. Joshua Hanen provides excellent service, explaining things in detail with an enthusiastic and friendly attitude. In my last visit I had questions about lasik, contacts, and some potential eye issues and Dr. Josh spent around half an hour answering all of my questions. Very positive and genuine personality. Some of the other staff also stayed with me for about 20 minutes as I struggled figuring out how to put in and take out contacts for the first time. Would definitely recommend.

Today, I went to get a diabetic retinopathy exam and saw Dr Mike Hanen-Smith after one of his associates ran the normal battery of tests to check my vision. As always they were very thorough and professional in performing the tests. I have been seeing Dr Mike ever since being diagnosed with diabetes more than 10 years ago. I also see a psychologist, Dr. Sandra Smith-Hanen at this clinic. I am pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of all staff at River Lake Clinic.

The doctor was great. The receptionist appears to be a chronically bad communicator. She neglected to call me with my out of pocket costs ahead of time, and I overheard her telling two other patients that she couldn't get in contact with them. Then when I go to the pharmacy for my prescription 2 days after my appointment, I find out it is held up for prior authorization. A call to tell me that was going on would have been helpful.

This is my favorite eye clinic, and I've been to a few in my years. The front desk is knowledgeable about claims, billing, & keeps the waiting room pretty empty. John always answers my insurance questions very patiently. Dr. Mike is thorough in his eye care, and he follows up with contact lens fittings until it's just right. This clinic's thoroughness keeps me driving back from Wisconsin.
