When I retired I moved 75 miles north of LA. I make the trip to Ocean Park Optometry to see Dr Ito and her folks to get the quality eye exam I need. She has my years of records and compares current to past. I know what's going on with my eyes and where we are going. My " insurance" company does not pay so it's out of pocket for me but given the alternative and the importance of my eyes, I don't have a problem paying. My insurance company was a life insurance company which got into health but they only understand Dead people so I look out for myself and Dr Ito looks out for me too. It's worth the drive to LA.

I saw Dr Ito on Thursday October 13th. I have BVD and wanted to see a doctor with that background and from what I had researched, Dr Ito met that criteria. I was very very impressed with everyone in the office especially Dr Ito n Luiza. Everyone was so friendly and engaging from the time I walked in until I was finished. Dr Ito spent quite a bit of time with me and went over my early tests and continued testing to find a solution for my problem. She thoroughly explained things and answered any questions I had. Even for this being my first visit, I felt like I was friends with all of the staff and was very comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Dr Ito and Ocean Park Optometry to anyone. Divorce your current optometrist and make an appointment with Dr. Sarah Ito right now. This was the best, most thorough, most comprehensive, most modern eye exam I have ever had. As suspected, I have Binocular Vision Disorder that requires prism lenses, which have now been ordered, along with new frames. There are currently only 31 Doctors in the US who are trained in this field of neuro-visual medicine. Anxiety and panic attacts? Especially when driving? Head tilt? Diagnosed with ADD? You might actually have BVD. Look into the science behind it. It's incredible and makes total sense. From my scheduling with Javier, to choosing and being fitted with frames and lenses with the upbeat and lighthearted Arvin and his lovely wife (let her help you choose your frames!) to the kind young man who administered the pre-testing, to the grand finale, which is a thorough exam with Dr. Ito, EVERYTHING was perfection. She's patient and thorough and explained every last detail while showing me actual images of the inside of my eye to help illustrate my condition(s). It's an efficient, state-of-the-art office with the best Santa Monica bonus: Free and easy parking! Just go here. You'll be glad you did! A+, 5 Stars.

Antwanet & Javier were great! When we called to make our appointment we confirmed they could take our insurance. Then we received reminder texts from Antwanet. We were also able to fill out our patient forms online. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon there was parking out front. The ambience of the shop was nice. I was seen right away. I liked the assistant and doctor that treated me. They were patient and kind. Javier the lab manager explained my benefits thoroughly. I made informed decisions that worked with my plan. They cleaned every glass I tried on before putting it back. A little pricey for 2 glasses spending over $500. But overall there was good customer service! We'll be picking them up in a couple weeks! Thanks guys!

Also, the traffic in and out of the office is limited for the patient's safety, which I appreciate during the pandemic. The doctor is great. She is knowledgeable and efficient. My 1st time long time that I’ve been to an eye doctor, and the space was aesthetically beautiful; very mod and sterile, clean. I was seen within 5min to begin the process of screening for my eyes. Barely had a min to settle into my chair to wait. The process was seamless, not crowded, the techs were very explanatory, let you know what steps were coming next and helpful. Got to see the doctor immediately after the screening tests. Dr. Magdalena Fuentes was great, shared the imaging with me and patient with my questions and thorough and thoughtful with her responses and forthright with her recommendations for my new lenses. The team, post my exam, to help me pick out my new frames were really into it and collaborative about what frames looked best on me, as well as patient! I had a lovely experience coming to this practice and I highly recommend them!

I recently heard about a condition called binocular vision dysfunction and realized that I had been experiencing a number of BVD symptoms for years. I found Ocean Park Optometry via internet search and filled out the online form to see if I qualified for an assessment, which I did. Though they are the only NeuroVisual facility in SoCal that asseses BVD, the staff quickly got me an appointment within a week and I was immediately impressed with the facility upon arrival. I haven’t had an eye exam since childhood but the high quality of the services and technology offered at OPO was extremely evident. I received a life-changing diagnosis of BVD after completing a series of tests and was both heartened and stunned to find out that my seemingly random but debilitating symptoms could be solved with special glasses. Dr Ito and the entire staff were very knowledgeable, efficient and kind. I can’t wait to come back as soon as my new prism glasses are ready. Thank you so much Dr Ito and everyone at OPO!

I've been going to Dr. Sarah Ito for a few months now for my ortho-k treatment and her work has just been amazing! I had a fairly high prescription to start out with (-6.00 in both eyes), and now I have 20/20 vision after a night of wearing the lenses - no longer need contacts or glasses during the day which feels great, especially since one of my hobbies is a high contact sport. No more dry eyes either, which I used to experience from wearing contacts. She is professional, knowledgable, and most importantly, transparent about her practice and processes. The staff is also friendly and pleasant folks, most notably Arvin the practice manager who immediately put me at ease when I walked into the office for my initial assessment. The office is clean, equipment looks high tech (there are machines there I haven't seen at other practices I've been to in the past), and they are accommodative and always well organized with scheduling.

They were able to diagnose my Binocular Vision Dysfunction and offer me prism lenses which have drastically improved the quality of my life by now longer being dizzy or experiencing visual vertigo. Honestly I am blown away by the customer service here. They sent me reminder/confirmation texts and a digital form to fill out before to run all my info by the time I walked in the door. A lovely lady was waiting for me at the door with hand sanitizer ready to take my temp and I barely waited one minute before my exam was ready. All equipment is high tech and the doctor was ready for me once I did the tests, for her to finish. The second my tests were done, Louisa escorted me to the front to go over insurance options and costs. They have a wide array of trendy frames and clean each one after try-on. Once I found my pair Louisa helped me check out and we had a lovely conversation. I was in an out so fast with not a minute wasted. So impressed with OP optometry and can’t wait to pick up my glasses in 2 weeks!

While I was in the office the lady at the front desk was kind enough to take pictures of another patient trying on different frames so she could send to her mom. Covid protols were on point, plentiful of parking and you can test out your new glasses by the beach less then a few mins away down on venice 😀 For me i had a more specialized condition that needed to be explored which was binocular vision dysfunction (BVD) amongst other vestibular type issues. These guys are one of the very few that specialize with neurological/vestibular type vision issues with neurolens. If you feel dizzy, eye strain, dry eyes and other similar symptoms, it might be your eyes. I knew my eyes had to be checked based on my symptoms and the testing was non-invasive, very specific and lengthy (which is good). I picked the SALT glasses as they are handcrafted in japan albeit a bit pricey but worth it! They also addressed and reimbursed my charges from a service that I didnt end up using with no problem. Thanks Dr. Ito, Luiza, Javier and the rest of the team for assisting with me

I went to Dr. Ito because I was having problems with my vision. I would see double in the evenings after work. She fixed me right up with a very complicated prescription involving prism for a weak eye muscle. This helped me to avoid surgery and still see! I went to another doctor for this problem for a year with no results. He charged me EVERY time I went in for a new exam. I went in six times. The glasses I got were from him and he still charged me to remake. Dr. Ito got it right the first time and I have never seen better. Get the glasses from her. Nobody does it better. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
