The staff is super helpful and friendly! I brought in my glasses after accidentally bending the frames pretty severely and they managed to bend them back into shape which saved me $175 for new frames. My optometrist was great too, very professional and to the point. Definitely recommend them!

Marina del Rey Optometry is the best! This is one of those places where everyone who works there is awesome. Everyone takes the time to explain what they’re doing and why - from explaining what tests you’re taking to explaining what they’re looking for in the results. Dr. Rinaldi is the best - he’s so thorough and makes sure all your questions are answered. I’ll be moving away soon and am strongly considering making the 1.5 hour trip back for my regular check-ins because this place really is that great.

My first visit was an unplanned emergency to remove a foreign object from my eye. Everyone was so kind, from the receptionist who squeezed me in immediately, to Dr. Rinaldi who removed the debris. This week I returned for my annual eye exam and again everyone was amazing; on time, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Bonus that there is free parking under the building.

Amazing staff and provider (Dr. Rinaldi). The office was super clean and all equipment was sanitized with me present to provide additional reassurance. All exams and results were thoroughly explained with plenty of time for questions. Family history and personal concerns were addressed without feeling rushed. His staff, esp Letty, was so friendly, and helped me pick out the most comfortable and well fitting glasses. They were honest and upfront about costs and made sure to go over everything in detail on what my insurance covers. I got excellent care re: my eye exam for glasses and contacts and received thorough education on how to take care of my eyesight. My appointment was easy, upfront, and direct. They have a clean and stylish office, and easy underground parking (a plus in Los Angeles.) Dr. Rinaldi, though startlingly young in appearance, is smart and personable. He introduced himself as Dom, and is a perfect balance of professional and chill. He was even cool enough to make sure I had my pupil distance measurements in detail in my prescription in case I wanted to buy frames online. I ended up buying frames in office, and the assistant, Letty, was also informative and fun to talk to. They took my insurance, Guardian Vision, VSP Choice Network: also a bonus. I'll update a picture when my frames get here.

I had an issue with one of my eyes and they were able to squeeze me in to see the Dr. that day. The staff was very nice and helpful and Dr. Kobayashi was terrific! She assessed my issue and prescribed some antibiotics and it is clearing up nicely. I highly recommend this practice!

The doctor that did my exam was so informative and relaxing at the same time. I just had a wonderful visit there even tho I found out about having cataracts and needing surgery. She then sent me to a very qualified eye surgeon. All in all great service. Am sending my son there.

One again, great care from Marina del Rey Optometry! I was hoping to get my annual exam before the end of the year, but called last minute. However, they offered me a waitlist, and yesterday morning I got a call of a cancellation at 2pm--so I got the exam I wanted! Dr. Rinaldi was terrific, thorough, and patient; he explained things in detail--so very helpful. I needed to select new glasses frames, and the office became busy, but I never felt rushed. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and highly professional. I have been a MDR Optometry client since 2005. You can trust that both Drs. From the first time we called to set up appointments to picking up our new glasses, the Dr. and staff were extremely professional, knowledgeable and polite. It's been a much different experience than our previous optometrist. There was no pressure to puy additional products or upsetting. They were very conscientious in regards what our insurance would and would not cover, as well as ensuring we understood how much out of pocket expenses we'd incur. Additionally, the office is set up appropriately to meet Covid guidelines and the staff does a great job spacing out appointment and managing traffic. We felt very comfortable.

By far, the most painful injury I have ever received, was at the hands of my two year old daughter. While picking her up from preschool her tiny little nail on her tiny little index finger poked me directly in the eye while running to hug me. At the time it hurt, but it wasn't much more painful than what you would normally expect from getting poked in the eye. What I didn't understand at the time was that she had given me a corneal abrasion and things were about to get worse, a lot worse. That night, I tossed and turned as my eye continued to get worse. Every blink I took further tore at my cornea and aggravated this abrasion. I woke in the morning and literally could not open either eye from the pain I was in. It was so painful that I was crawling around the house on all four fumbling for things with my hands. I thought I would have to go to the hospital's emergency room. Luckily for me, my wife was a long time client of Kris Kobayashi. She phoned Kris and explained the situation. Despite not being at work, Kris didn't hesitate to volunteer to see me and even arranged to see me at a friend's optometry office next to my house knowing it would be difficult for me to travel to the Marina Del Rey office in my current condition. The immediate relief as Kris' applied a medical contact to my eye after assessing the damage was overwhelming. I would have cried except that my eyes were already streaming from the injury. Kris gave me an entire plethora of care, advice, and information to go along with the contact and medication. She informed me that toddlers commonly cause their parents eye abrasions. The hospital, where I think most regular people on their day off would have sent me, would have simply put some lubricant on my eye, given me an eyepatch, and prescribed antibiotics. Instead of spending a week in pain with half my vision I was given immediate relief and the full use of both eyes. You might think this level of care cost me an arm and a leg but no, Kris charged me for a regular eye exam visit and the normal cost for the contact while prescribing me a prescription with a follow up visit later that week. All of which was mostly covered by my vision insurance anyways. Truly, I will always be grateful for this response and while I hopefully won't be seeing Kris again for an eye abrasion I can't recommend her and her business enough to both my family and friends for her professionalism, courtesy, and obvious care for her clients well being.

Best experience with an optometrist. The doctor was so knowledgeable and efficient. The staff is so nice and helpful. They had no crazy fees or anything hidden that I didn't know about. The doctor gave me free trial contacts and eye drops and contact solution. Hit my prescription perfectly. I usually have to go in a few times to get new contacts because it's not the right prescription, but the doctor had no problem finding the perfect lenses. They were so safe about COVID. So happy to have found them!!

MDR optometry has THE NICEST staff!!! Not only are they super friendly, but the facility is immaculate and you are the only patient in the space. They disinfect after each patient. Both my husband and I had an appointment and we were both impressed by the staff. Dr Rinaldi was super thorough and took time to answer all my questions, even about my children’s eye health (even though they were not there). Oscar was helpful from my initial phone call he handled insurance authorization while I made the appointment over the phone in 2 minutes and during the visit took care of our orders. I had a great experience. You were let in my a staff member after taking your temperature and asking a few questions. With the current health situation that has been going on since March, you definitely feel that the site and staff take social distancing and sanitizing seriously- site staff wear shields, gloves, have a used pen holder, wipe down in front of you even after it had been sanitized prior to you entering. Staff and doctor are friendly and knowledgeable. Almost no wait time for my appt. Definitely recommend!

Quite possibly one of the best eye doctor visits I’ve ever experienced in my life. The staff were extremely courteous and polite and always made sure I was comfortable. They explained everything very well to me and made sure I understood the costs and best option for me regarding my health insurance coverage. Dr. Rinaldi was the doctor who saw me and provided the most comprehensive exam I have ever had. I must admit I walked in there expecting a quick in-and-out routine, and instead came out of there knowing a lot more about my eyes and with more test performed that have never been done by other doctors. Dr. Rinaldi also educated me on maintaining eye health and how to correct some mistakes I’ve been making with wearing contact lenses. It also helps that he is easy on the eyes haha. I would highly recommend this office to anyone and especially refer them to Dr. Rinaldi who provided excellent care and knowledgeable information.

Very efficient and thoughtful Optometry service. I’ve been with them for several years and earlier this week, after having called about my glasses and a lens issue, I arrived thinking I would have to reorder a new lens or some other adjustment. I was pleased beyond words that they had anticipated my problem and had pre ordered new lenses. I arrived and they assessed, replaced lens and adjusted my frames. I walked out in about 20 mins with working glasses, minimized my exposure to the Rona, and I don’t have to return. Excellent service!

My daughter and I LOVED this place. After spending most of the pandemic wondering why my eyes were getting worse from computer and zoom fatigue, and after going decades with only reading glasses after getting Lasiks years ago, I decided I needed to visit an optometrist, and couldn't hurt to take my 10-year-old daughter for an appointment as well. This place was VERY covid safe and uses a total team approach with all the highest tech, very inviting store and exam offices, it was lovely for me and for my daughter (who found the whole thing fun and fascinating and is now excited that she has the eyesight to become an astronaut). Everyone was as nice -- and safe -- as could be, and I love that they are fine with you trying on as many glasses as you want, they just set everything aside to be sanitized afterwards. One stop shopping, got a prescription that will help so much and great glasses/sunglasses selection. Can't recommend highly enough!

Everyone here is so nice, professional and helpful. I love the optometrists but the support staff are great as well. They are mindful that prescription eyewear can become very expensive and they try to find solutions that work with your budget. They are also following strict protocols to keep customers safe from Covid. Everyone is still wearing masks and they require that customers wear masks as well. Dr. Kobayashi is really cheerful and personable and I didn't feel rushed at all.

There’s no brush off or patronizing of patients with an “Oh you’re fine” or “That not something you have to worry about.” It’s looking at your specific history, concerns, and current scans in detail. Then breaking down those things with you to get a technical resolution for what you’re experiencing, and if any, that symptoms to look for in the future. The staff has a vibe that’s like you’re hanging out with a friend, who happens to do eyewear and genuinely likes answering all your crazy questions.

Kobayashi is effusive, explains everything she sees in your xrays, does not PUSH you into buying new glasses, getting lasik, or anything you don’t really NEED yet. As all doctors do, while discussing details of my case she did use the word “prescription” to describe the state of my vision which was confusing. Otherwise great experience!
