The experience was one of exceptional service and knowledge. The staff was so friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. From the first moment I walked in I was greeted with information on what to expect and was given in great detail what the results of my exam meant and how to move forward. Even though I didn't need glasses I wish I did as I knew the staff here would take great care of my eyes.

I recently went to dr. Travels practice and had my eyes checked. Even though I discovered my prescription had changed. The staff were every polite and even recommended several different style glasses frames and even some different transitions styles for the lenses. Apparently they now make a polarized transition that actually look amazing on me. They are very good quality lenses in my opinion and I plan to get more in future glasses. The manager ( Diane fox) saw I needed some glasses for my updated prescription and she had Recommended the polarized lenses for me. I enjoyed my time when with the staff and they had answered all my questions. I will be returning again.

I was extremely favorably impressed from the time I entered the building by the esthetics of the office and the warm yet enthusiastic greeting given by the receptionist. It seemed as if each step was designed with efficiency and expediency in mind. The initial exam and all subsequent exams and testing were the most courteous and efficient I have received from any and all professionals and services people to date. (I’m 76yrs. Old.and have a wide range of experiences)

Went for a routine exam as a glasses wearer. First time here, but insurance calls the shots. One of the busier eye clinics Ive been too, but that didnt stop the the two technicians who checked me in and out from offering friendly, informative service. dr jamz was quick, but attentive, gentile and seemingly thorough. Doctors do a very thorough eye exam. They walk you through everything they will do. Everyone is polite. There is a little bit of a wait in between their examination steps. They waited patiently as it took me some time to pick which frame I wanted since they had so many options. Overall I liked this place. It will take 2 weeks to get my new glasses. I'm looking forward to them.

Best customer service 😊! Everyone single team member I encountered with helped me. They are extremely backed up and with the patience and care shown from them I was seen the same day. It’s the customer service and can do attitudes for me! I didn’t mind waiting because they paid attention to me and I seen that they were concerned to get me seen. I had called lots of other optometrists in the area but no one had any availability. I called Dr. Tavel and they were able to schedule an exam same day. It took a little while longer in the waiting room due to a power surge that shut down many of their computer systems. The exam went easily and the staff were fantastic with my kid. They answered all my questions and made sure to provide suggestions that were relevant. We ordered 2 pairs of glasses that will be in shortly. It was a painless process, their prices and selection were also great. I will definitely be going back with my other child and for myself as well!

Overall I was impressed with Dr. Patterson. She was very efficient, accommodating, and knowledgeable. We waited for other parts of the service without being advised how long the wait would be (insufficient customer service). The biggest problem was we were not told when making the appointment that we would need a list of David's medications. Fortunately, memory worked fairly well as to the medications and dosage.

I had decided to do a walk-in and the way walk-ins work is somebody cancels their appointment or don’t show up they take you instead but there is no guarantee they’ll get you in to see an eye doctor. I ended up being in the same place as the supervisor Ellie who heard me over the phone calling other Dr. Tavel offices to see if they had an cancellations because I didn’t want to be sitting there all day for nothing. She immediately said I can help you, did they offer telemed? After I explained to her they didn’t she went into the office worked some magic and I had an appointment at 2pm with the telemed doctor and was able to get new glasses that I’ve been needed for a while now. I’m extremely grateful for her.

She mentioned that my prescription would be slightly different but did not force me to get new glasses. The ladies up front were helpful in explaining my benefits before my exam to help set expectations for what would be covered and what my co-pay would be. I will be back again next year!

I was concerned about moving to a big city from a small town that actually care may suffer, imagine my surprise when it was far better! The doctor listened to my history and was very engaging. I was in and out. I met with the doctor over a telemed session. I like to think it's all the same but I do worry it isn't as accurate this way. I also asked if they would measure my PD for me and they refused unless I bought a pair of glasses. This would have taken no more than 15 seconds. Let me start off by saying the doctor, (I believe his name is Dr. Jay?) was very thorough, he took his time explaining things to me in a way that I could understand, and I even learned a few things that I did not know about my vision. He did a very good job. And the negative parts of the review are in no way about him. I wish I could give this place a higher rating. I usually use Ossip, however this time I wanted a place that accepted my insurance plan AND my Care Credit card. The office staff (that I dealt with) is the absolute worst, except for Paige, (and whoever receptionist was the first time I was there). Now, there were a few issues with Paige not explaining things fully. BUT, she was very kind and she did a great job trying to help. *** Side note, don't waste your time filling out the online paperwork. Apparently it only works half the time and it takes about 30 minutes to complete & there is no guarantee they will actually get it. The rest of the office staff are rude, inconsiderate, and lazy. When I first came out of my exam to look at frames, one woman was sitting at the fitting table (furthest from the entrance door), and she was just sitting there texting or whatever on her phone. I stood there for a good minute before I interrupted her for help. She simply said "Go over there" the only employee/s that were doing anything were Paige, and the receptionist. The office manager, Michelle, has a terrible attitude. There was some miscommunication (? we'll call it that) over the options for my glasses at the time of ordering and when I brought this up to her as I was picking up my new glasses, she looked at me like I had three heads, and just had a nasty attitude. I finally confronted her and then all the sudden her tune changed a little bit. I will say, she tried about 15 times to adjust my frames so they were not crooked, and I did appreciate that. She must do really well at the paperwork side of things, because dealing with people is not her forte. I am so tired of going to places where the main job is customer service, and they cannot fulfill that basic requirement. So, here I am, I HATE my new glasses. The frames are ripping my hair out, one little nudge and they are pressing against my skin, getting marks on the lenses, they do not stay in place, I'm pretty sure the prescription in one of the lenses is off, and they do not have the type of transition lenses I would have picked... had I known there was an option. We'll see how this goes, and hopefully the response and result is better than the original. Hopefully I will be able to update my rating in a more positive way. *** Update. A corporate representative has reached out to me, and we had a fairly long discussion regarding my experience and some other observations I had made while in the office. I did consider after I posted the review, that the issue with my prescription could simply be me adjusting to it. She agreed as well, so I'm going to keep these for a few days to see if I adjust to it or not, and then she is going to work with me directly to make things right. I really appreciated the fast and unexpected response from corporate. So far, my opinion on Dr. Tavel's (which I had never used before) is moving in a higher direction. I will update this again next week!
