Everyone at Eye Theory was helpful and kind! I was seen quickly, with very little wait. Every thing we did as a part of my eye exam was explained, and I felt comfortable asking questions. 10/10 would recommend that anyone looking for a doctor to take care of their vision should come here!

I’m in the hospitality industry so i definitely can appreciate great customer service/appreciation. They were very detail and personable, the doctor was fantastic with excellent chair side manners!!! I went to the EyeTheory location on Main Street. The parking is very easy and they validate. These folks are very organized and efficient, and they give very clear explanations of every step of the process. They have sophisticated equipment to analyze eye health and vision. It’s impressive. Perhaps the best aspect of this practice is Dr Tsao. He’s knowledgeable and communicates so well. His procedure for arriving at my new glasses Rx was comprehensive and I think he really nailed it. I haven’t gotten my glasses yet, but I’m expecting they will be really good. Very highly recommend Eye Theory!

From the comprehensive eye exam to the personalized help in picking frames, Eye Theory is amazing! Prior to my visit, I have only ever had basic service and eye exams that consisted of a puff of air and peripheral dot test. Here there is NO PUFF and they will explain your eye health in detail. I struggle with the optometrist because my cerebral palsy plays really inconsistently with my vision. The doctor was very patient and thorough. The staff were kind, quick and efficient and didn’t try to pressure me into buying new frames (I love my red frames) it’s a blink and you’ll miss it location but it was an overall great experience

I am very happy to find Eye Theory in Houston . I was tired of seen nonsense eye doctor that the only thing they said to me was, “you have dry eyes because you are old” and the eye drops they gave me were not working. Dr Tzou examined my eyes and go to the root of the problem. He gave me a diagnosis and thanks to him and his great office staff , I am doing so much better . The reviews say it all and I’m so happy with my new glasses! It was a great experience, the staff is so accommodating, and the technology is impressive. I’ve been here before for my young daughter’s first exam (also a wonderful experience), and then for my own exam and new frames. Dr. Tsao was super attentive to my vision needs, explained everything and even showed me high-resolution pictures of the inside of my eyes, it was awesome! He recommended some really nice frames and wow, I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my glasses before, even from strangers who wouldn’t have known I just got them.

I went to Eye Theory for my first eye appointment in about 3 or 4 years, and I had a fantastic experience. The staff was very kind and professional, as well as knowledgeable. I got my new glasses and contacts 2 days ago. I am beyond satisfied, and will continue to come back here. The frames selection is really good. It may seem like a limited selection at first; but I spent a good 45 minutes to an hour deciding between 5 frames that I loved. I absolutely recommend them if you need an eye checkup, glasses, or contacts. Update 10/21 Came back the following year for another good eye exam experience. Update 12/22 Still great!!

This was the best eye dr experience I've ever had. Office is great, staff is great, Dr is great, and their use of technology to speed up the process and get better results is impressive. You have the option to not have drops for dilation, which is a great convenience. And the 1 or 2, 3 or 4, etc is all automated making the process very quick and accurate.

Nice facility with a friendly front desk. They use the latest technology machines as well. The prices on frame and everything are very high and I didn't like that they present you with costs through your insurance starting with progressive lens (vs single frame) and you have to ask if there are cheaper lenses options. Nothing has price tags. I understand this is common in industry but something to be aware of. I went in with insurance and spent more than I planned to on the exam and so forth.

My Daughter recommended me. I went with her to an appointment. Was so impressed with the customer service and the care. I booked a few weeks later. Dr Tsao listens and then comes up with the treatments. I have very dry eyes. Just after a few of the treatments I can tell the difference. They are up front and honest. I have already talked to my mom to set up an appointment and that will happen soon. Looking forward to wearing contacts again!!! You have to see the service for yourself.

Found Eye Theory via Yelp in search of a long overdue eye exam and chose them because of their raving reviews and proximity to my house. As soon as you walk in, you feel as if you’re in a luxury optometrist’s office. Everything is clean, spaced out perfectly, and my OCD self was very pleased. The office staff was extremely kind and helpful in teaching me how to wear contact lenses and helping me find a pair of glasses that was perfect (no exaggeration, perfect) for my face shape. Dr. Tsao is extremely knowledgeable and personable and took the time to explain every single test result for me. 10/10 recommend!

His assistant was awesome from the time I called to make the appointment, I could tell this place had a customer focused operation. She was great with verifying my insurance quickly and explaining my benefits. She was friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable! I generally go to larger places like Lens Crafters as I assumed the pricing would be better. But these folks were reasonable and I got a great pair of sexy specs! Assistant/front desk staff was very helpful and friendly. The place is clean and stylish - since occupancy is limited due to COVID-19, it felt like being in an eyewear boutique for a private fitting. My husband and I had such a great experience at Eye Theory. Both the doctor and his assistant were very thorough and great communicators. The doctor explained all issues and concerns without us having to ask for clarification. He also gave us treatment options without trying to upsell us. When he was going over my options, I asked him what he would do if he were me, and he recommended the cheapest option. He and his assistant were also incredibly helpful when we were picking frames. They are both stylish people, and their input was very helpful and validating. They also helped us choose higher quality glasses (Salt - handmade in Japan) over name-brand glasses (Gucci). Neither one of us are label people, and we were excited to get more bang for our buck (higher quality, more comfort, better fit, longer wear life). Very rarely do I look forward to going back to a doctor, but I'm excited to go back when I need my annual exam!

It felt like a big difference. They also helped me strategized the most affordable way to leverage my insurance and get both contacts and frames. I've got dry eye disease and any other conditions that caused by it, and spent little over a year seeing ophthalmologists from other eye clinics, spent $$$ on test, treatment and medicine. Went to Eye Theory and seen dr. Tsao for an eye infection (which was a collateral damage from dry eye). the infection was treated fairly quick, and after, i was tested meticulously on my dry eye condition, and tailored treatment was prescribed. I am halfway on my treatment, and already felt million times better. My eyes feels really comfortable now, no redness, dryness, itchiness, I no longer react badly to any cosmetics (eyeliner, sunblock, mascara, etc), dont felt the need for frequent artificial tears drop (previously i need to have drops every 2-3hrs). I am forever grateful for dr. Tsao and his team for really take the time to find the true cause of my dry eye and treat it to the root of the problem! the office are nice, staff very skillful, friendly, responsive, and transparent about any charges, and dr. Tsao bedside manner was great, he also listen and really take time to explain to you.

I called Eye Theory to inquire about pricing and they were able to accommodate a same-day appointment. The staff that greeted me was very friendly. The facility was very modern and clean. The technology and equipment seem much nicer than what you would find at your standard optometrist. Best of all, they don't use that machine that shoots concentrated bursts of air into your eyes, so that is a huge plus. Dr. Tsao and his assistant were both extremely friendly and took their time during my examination. Dr. Tsao answered all of my questions and we even enjoyed some small talk. This location was referred to me by a friend and after my visit I would highly recommend it as well.

I am so glad I found Eye Theory...this is hands down the best experience I have ever had at an optometry office. First of all, once I walked in the place, I was immediately impressed with the look of the practice - it was a gorgeous two-story building with a very unique and eye-catching design. I was greeted by two really friendly and sweet associates Paula and Josh. After Paula got me signed in, I started the pre-screening process with Josh and was so impressed by the service he provided- he took the time to make sure the machines were clean and explained every procedure to me thoroughly. Once that was done I went to see Dr. Tsao. He was really warm and welcoming, and also took the time to get to know me and explain all the procedures to me. I usually have a lot of questions and was Dr. Tsao took the time to patiently answer all of my concerns. He even found out that I had really dry eyes and put me on a dry eye regimen! After the appointment was done, I came out of the room and Josh had already picked out a few glasses frames he thought would fit me. He was really knowledgeable about all the brands, even explaining the background behind them and telling me about all the latest trends. I really liked the brands they carried, they were all really unique and high quality. I ended up choosing a really cute pair of Oliver People’s frames and am so excited to wear them!! I walked out of there so refreshed and really happy that I found my new optometrist for life!

Staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they really care about every patient as they take their time and answered all of my questions. They also had a large selection of glasses/sunglasses. That being said you must be aware of their scheme to pay thousands of dollars for laser treatment of “meibomian gland blockage”. The optometrist used scare tactics such as saying I will have permanent damage and long term consequences if I didn’t take care of this now. As a physician myself (who really pressed the guy at the time bc I was skeptical) I waited a few months to see an ophthalmologist (a physician who specializes in eye care). This week I finally had my appointment and the ophthalmologist said there are no issues with my glands and simply gave education on gland hygiene. She said she has had a few patients in the last months come to her concerned over this issue and then on exam their glands are fine. This saved me a few thousand dollars. Please do no fall for this money grabbing hoax.

Update 12/14: I had a follow up visit for an emergency procedure I had to take care of and Dr. Tsao and his staff have been nothing but amazing to work with. Customer for life! They’ve gone above and beyond for me. Thank you! Highly recommend this optometrist if you’re in the midtown area! Visiting during covid times may be a concern to some, but the staff here do a fantastic job with keeping the place very clean. I felt very comfortable during my entire visit. Dr. Tsao was great. You can tell he’s extremely passionate about his job and takes the time to thoroughly explain everything to you. He was able to find a hole in my eye and immediately referred me to a specialist same day to get it worked on before it got any worse. Honestly, if he didn’t take the time to explain the severity or find the hole, I could’ve eventually gone blind in my right eye. Thanks 2020, but thanks Dr. Tsao for finding it before it got worse. The staff at eye theory were very friendly and helped me select some glasses as well. Their selection of glasses are great as well.

Dr. Tsao is great! I went in on a Saturday and one of the employee's called in sick that day. Despite this, I didn't have to wait too long. Dr. Tsao even took initiative and did my work up before he saw me (I wouldn't normally expect this from the doctor so I was very impressed). After the routine Rx appointment, Dr. Tsao walked me through what we would need to do to check if the floaters were a sign of something worse. Dr Tsao even helped me with a further In-depth investigation of my eyes FOC as a goodwill gesture due to having to wait slightly longer for my appointment because of the social distancing measures in place which was totally understandable from my side but the gesture was very nice and refreshing. I am looking forward to my cool new spectacles arriving. Dr. Tsao is great — very little wait time, lots of available appointments (even on the weekend!), and totally 1-on-1 service. If I wasn’t moving away for work, he’d be my eye doctor forever. There’s parking in the garage (relatively cheap) and street parking nearby, but allow 5-10 extra minutes to park since there’s no lot. It’s right off the light rail, too, which is nice.

Thank you Dr. Tsao for taking care of me and my father! I have never had a doctor take the time to educate me on the health of my eyes. (Get the optomap photo! Dr. Tsao goes over the interior health of your eye with you.) He gives an explanation for everything he recommends. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming and the office is unlike any doctor’s office I’ve ever been to. I was slightly intimidated at first by how boujee the office looked and worried the prices would be outrageous but decided to give the place a try because of the reviews and pictures. I was shocked when I ended up paying less for my exam here than I did at Costco last year. Not only did Eye Theory have much more advanced technology but the exam did not feel rushed like some previous experiences I’ve had. If you are looking for a compassionate doctor with an amazing practice, I highly recommend you give Eye Theory a try!

Dr. Tsao and the folks at Eye Theory are great. No one likes their eyes messed with but this was a great experience. They checked my eye pressure without that puff of air that I hate and they also performed a retinal exam with a machine that takes pictures instead of needing to dilate my eyes. Dr. Tsao even found changes on my eyes that indicate the need for a different type of contact lenses to keep my eyes healthy. My precious optometrist did not see these changes!

RGP lens wearer here! When putting on my contact lens on a Friday, I happened to get something into my eye that caused a terrible burning sensation that wouldn't go away even after removing my contact and flushing it with saline. My normal eye doctor isn't open on the weekends. Luckily, Dr. Tsao is open on Saturdays and I was able to see him first thing Saturday morning. By the time Saturday came along, my eye wasn't super pink and watering anymore, but it still didn't feel normal to me. Dr. Tsao took my concerns seriously and examined my eye in detail. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions about the eye-drops needed and when to return if my condition worsen. I had been searching for an eye doctor closer to our home, and will definitely be returning for my annual eye exams! Added bonus that he is open on Saturdays and until 7pm on the week days!
