Absolutely incredible experience with Dr. Marcia Moore at Bellaire Family Eye Clinic. From the front desk, to the technician who took photos of my eye, we loved our care. I had seen a previous optometrist who gave me a diagnosis, and then came to see Bellaire Family Eye Care on a recommendation from my chiropractor, and Dr. Moore gave me a thorough explanation of what was happening in my eyes. I felt her guidance was excellent, and she listened to all of my concerns. We will be back!!

Highest level and quality of diagnostic equipment and of personnel. Also I can’t believe how little wait time for scheduled appointments. The most I ever had to wait was ten minutes. I had a lot of anxiety about cataract surgery and they were able to quell that fear by showing me facts and figures and explained in detail with patience. It could have been more organized. The copay was different than what I expected and I would think the cost should have been communicated prior instead of letting you know at check out. They had good equipment and good staff. The exam was done very thoroughly. The doc recommended some eye drops and was going to check if there was any samples or was going let me know what to get OTC, which I did not get either. I mentioned I wanted my Rx multiple times and still did not get it at check out. I was almost at my car and had to go back to get it.

This is a full service eye clinic, with all the latest testing equipment, a full optical department with a good selection of frames, contact lenses, vision therapy. They did a test that the ophthalmologist never did and discovered that I needed one small adjustment with my lenses and it stopped a lifetime of headaches.

First time appointment at BFEC and the staff and facility exceeded my expectations. I went for a second opinion before dropping over $1,000.00 on a procedure recommended by another optometrist office. So glad I went for second opinion because it turns out the scratch on my cornea was healing beautifully and I did not need the costly procedure that was recommended by the other eye doctor. Dr. Kazmi is extremely professional, knowledgeable and right off the bat listened and most importantly HEARD my concerns. The staff is pleasant and warm. Space is immaculate. I was late to my appointment due to street repair, but was checked in promptly by office staff. I was then taken to an exam room by a technician and tested. Finally, I was seen by Dr Moore and we discussed plans for correcting my vision. When I was done, all of my questions were answered by Dr. Moore and the staff at Bellaire Family Eye Care. I drive 45 minutes- 1 hr to get here, but it’s all worth it!! I can’t speak highly enough about Dr. Tucker. Not only does she always answer my list of questions, she never makes me feel rushed or stupid for asking. And she has helped me see clearly after significant scarring of my cornea due to HSVK. Do yourself a favor and go see her. We were referred to this office to see Dr. Marcia Moore for our 3 year old son by our pediatricians office and today was our first visit. I spent the past week debating in my head whether to keep this appointment for many reasons. The drive was long ( we live in Katy), my son had already been seen at another optometrist office close to our home and that was a disaster, and finally, because my 3 year old can be extremely difficult to handle and I could not imagine a trip to the eye doctor going well for him. I came in thinking yet again, I was going to be wasting money on a visit that was going to end up in disaster per my uncooperative son. However, when Dr.Moore walked in the exam room, to my utter surprise, she was able to do a good exam on my son without him crying or being in ANY distress! I was shocked. I definitely feel like this trip was worth the drive, time, and money to see her! EDIT: Adding to my previous review left over a year ago. We recently visited the clinic again in May 2021 (last appointment was in 2019/2020). We chose to make our appointment with Dr. Kazmi. She saw my family of 3 back to back - no excessive waiting....efficient and thorough. My son needed to be fitted for glasses. Dr. Kazmi made sure we were comfortable throughout the process since my son is a 4 year old, first time glasses wearer. Melanie helped us pick out the glasses and properly fit my son. She was super quick (great for parents) but never rushed us. She was patient with my son as he tried on a million pairs in different colors. The front desk staff is awesome too. I needed help understanding my bill and they patiently explained each charge.....while the other ladies entertained my son with treats they keep hidden behind the counter. Dare I say it - best clinic ever! I stand by my previous 5 star review. PREVIOUS: We visit Dr. Kazmi at this office. My entire family loves her. Very professional and friendly. My annual eye exam was amazingly thorough. The staff are gracious, friendly, and skilled at their work. Dr. Voss has an excellent “bed side manner”, so personal and easy to relate to. Now I know that my problems are just developing and may never be a problem. We had a very helpful and informative discussion to help me decide about how to deal in the future with problems like glasses versus special lens when and if my cataracts get unacceptable. I also now know that my macular are healthy, no degeneration. Although my prescription did change, Dr. Voss judged that I would not get enough benefit with new lenses- recommended waiting till next years exam. Plus, while waiting before being called to an examining room, Basil adjusted my frames including my spare which fixed problems caused by having bumped my glasses while working. The results were wonderful. They are the best. My understanding is that Dr. Voss is unusually skilled. I have been treated by her since the early 1990’s. Eye injuries, scratches, optical migraines- always well taken care of. No reservation about recommending Bellaire Family Eye Care!

One of the very few places that tries eye/vision therapy for strabismus (lazy eye) before recommending surgery. My son has seen great progress through the therapy program to to point that his bifocal vision is in normal range and lay-people can’t tell he has the condition. The first doctor I went to before this (Houston Eye Associates) wanted to operate immediately. On a 4 year old. I wish Vision therapy was covered under my health insurance, same as the surgery. Most insurance won’t cover it, but it works for a good percentage of strabismus cases. Highly recommended the place-it’s classy and the staff are very competent and caring. Worth the money to keep my little boy from being needlessly cut up.

To reply to the person below who said vision therapy is a scam, it is not. I lost binocular vision when I was 26. I'd grown up with esotropia in one eye as a child but it developed in the other eye as an adult and I lost the ability to focus both eyes at the same spot at the same time. I went to an opthalmologist, a pediatric opthalmologist who specialized in strabismus. I had two surgeries in two years where they removed and reattached the muscles in my eyes in an effort to better align them. It didn't work. That's when I went to Bellaire Family Eye Care and the Vision Learning Center. I think I did two rounds of therapy, going twice a week. It was 3 or 6 months. This was around 10 years ago so it's hard to remember. But it worked. I've sent other people there too for the same issue and it's worked for them as well. Joseph is great and Dr. Moore is beyond wonderful. Dr. Moore knows how to take my esotropia into account when giving me exams and writing prescriptions. They caught my glaucoma very early and and have been very proactive about treating it and preventing any actual damage from occurring. I've been a patient for 10 years and I can't imagine going anywhere else for eye care in Houston. My mother has been a patient of both Dr. Voss and Dr. Tucker and they're excellent as well.
