I had an eye exam a few months ago at a different place across town, but they weren't able to figure out why the glasses I ordered from them were blurry. So, I went here to get a second opinion. The office was nice and the staff were very kind. I had to wait for a few moments, but then I went back for my exam. It went by pretty quickly and then my eyes were dilated. After that I saw doctor DeWolfe who did a second exam. She was very thorough and made sure that I was seeing clearly. I ordered new glasses online using the prescription I got here and now I can see perfectly clear. Thank you for getting me an accurate prescription! I will definitely be back for my next exam.

I have been going to Dr. Benninger for probably 45 years or more. I trust him completely in caring for my eyes. You’ll never feel rushed as he will answer all your questions. My last visit for a post-op cataract surgery exam was with one of the optometrists, Dr. Mitera and, she too, took her time in answering questions. Staff is very competent and friendly.

The eye exam was good overall, done a little different than my other eye doctor but much more personable visit. Staff was very friendly and helpful to my needs and to help with insurance questions regarding billing and copay. The only thing I didn’t like was not being able to talk to the main eye doctor, About my prescription other than that I would highly recommend Them for your eye care needs due to the increased examination and updated technology during the exam. Doctor Gordon was very professional and care more about my eyes instead of trying to have me do unnecessary procedures. Keep in mind that I speak English badly and have a strong accent but the entire staff did their best to accommodate me. 110% would recommend this place.

The check-in process was smooth, it’s a beautiful office, and the workers are all friendly and professional. The ophthalmologist was so knowledgeable and educated me on some things I’ve never heard of. She found that I had meibomian glad dysfunction (dry eyes) immediately, which no doctor has ever discussed with me before. They helped me order a year supply of contacts for cheaper than I’ve ever found! Very happy with this place and will do my yearly exam here for sure.

Dr. Richard Benninger and his team are always helpful and courteous from check in to check out, the staff is very cordial and helpful especially with finding the perfect frames for your eyes and face. Conversation with Dr Benninger spark ways for what feels like holistic options for eye care. Appointments are approximately 1 hour long.

Was very impressed that I called about 4 am in extreme pain and they told me I would receive a call first thing. Got my call and got in the office right away. Not real thrilled with the Larmours pharmacy however. I was told they would call me today to pay for the drops. They called me at 4:44. I gave my credit card number and I asked if I would have them tomorrow. She said Fed Ex already picked up and they’ll send out tomorrow and I’ll receive them Monday. Monday? Are you kidding me? Thank God the doc gave me a sample! I was in Extreme pain here! I called your office for another sample but u were closed. I’ll call in the morning. Really poor customer service.

I couldn't have been happier with my first experience here! Having just moved into the area, I was looking for a good optometrist, and chose this office based on the great online reviews. After my first appointment, I was not at all disappointed, and found Michigan Optical to live up to its good reputation. Every staff person I met in any part of the process was both professional and friendly. They were clearly more thorough and knowledgeable in their field than other places I have been for eye exams in the recent past. I also appreciated how well they communicated with me both in the exam and in selecting frames, listening to my needs and perspective and explaining to me everything from eye health to billing options. I learned about my own eyes through the experience, and I will be trusting my eye health to these professionals in the future too. The only downside to Michigan Optical that I found was the relatively higher prices, which I knew to expect. I decided that the quality of care and of products here are worth the extra cost! I also appreciated that they worked with me, knowing I have major medical but not vision insurance, making sure I knew about available discounts and possible options of how to process my bills to fit my situation.

Been with Dr Benninger for years. My mother- in-law who went legally blind from macular degeneration he helped set her up with home for the bling so she could stay at home. And I lost sight 50 years ago from accident. He has carefully guided me through the years. Changing prescription won’t help. Have cataracts and need surgery. Scary with any risks having sight only in that eye. Dr Benninger told me to call him on day of surgery so he could be with me in his thoughts. Doesn’t get my better or more caring than that. Dr. Sarah Hansen called me at 7 o’clock Friday evening, gave me her personal cell number, and got me into her schedule today to look at my eye. Excellent eye doctor and friendly, helpful staff. Traffic on Michigan Street can be challenging but with a little bit of patience, the left turn isn't bad. Bathroom and drinking fountain are handicap accessible, although the entry doors are currently not able to be push button opened. It is in a bike friendly area with a bike rack just outside the door.

Dr Benninger has been seeing my daughter atleast twice a year for the past 18 years. He has also seen her on urgent and emergency visits, same day if needed, with no problem or complaints. Dr Benninger, not only includes the patient he is seeing in the decision making, he also talks with parents, significant others ect (obviously only if he has permission-due to all the hippa laws)about the deciaion him and his patient has came too, as well as follow up. Dr Benninger's office staff also go above and beyond, making sure you are comfortable while you are waiting to be seen or waiting to see Dr Benninger, his staff also makes great coffee and will bring it right to you, if they are not extremely busy. My family has not seen any other Drs in Dr Benningers office, but they must be top of the line, he has high expectations! THANK YOU DR BENNINGER YOU'RE THE GREATEST! THE CRAIN FAMILY

I love Dr Beninger, He cares! I have been a patient of Dr Benniger's, since my children were young over 30 years ago. He was the doctor for all three of them. My husband and I are both now patients. He is caring and personable, yet professional. He gives ample time for questions. He also shares other useful health information. Today 7-27-2020 I am disappointed with office we have been going to since our children were Young and my oldest is 39. Most of the patients are seniors now and to charge for something that is required by law due to Covid 19, we are all required and need to do this. It seems unfair to me. I couldn't believe it until my husband sent the picture. I thought surely he was mistaken. I love this office but I don't agree with this.
