My family and I have been going here for the last few years. We moved farther away but still travel to this location because of the staff and location. Our recent experience with Amanda was wonderful. The doctor and tech were great, courteous and efficient. The office has been remodeled and looks great. They were very sanitary between our appointments and clean. Amanda, displayed a magnetic attitude when helping my daughter and I. She was knowledgeable, courteous and extremely helpful. Amanda is a true winner for this office and my family and I will definitely be back because of her. Keep up the good work Amanda and the rest of the staff. I will be sure to get everyone's name next time :-)

This is my first experience going to a visionworks and I was overall disappointed. The first associate I interacted with was very nice but he framed the retina scan as something included in the check up not an additional charge. Then the actual eye doctor just seemed annoyed the whole time because I was unsure about which lens was more clear which was due to the subpar machinery that wouldn’t stay in the same place and constantly needed to be readjusted. It also felt like the eye doctor was rushing and would ask me to decide which was more clear while he was blocking the chart. When he gave me my prescription which was +1 I said my prescription used to be +3 so I was curious if it’s normal for it to change that drastically. He seemed to feel like I was challenging his accuracy and was defensive in his response having me look through lenses that were +3. Then the last person who actually sold me the contacts was rude. He also said there was a $50 rebate on my contacts when it’s actually only $30. I was supposed to get a trial pair of the contacts that are sent to the vision works store while the rest of the contacts would be mailed to my home. They specifically told me not to open my boxes until I could get the trial pair from the store. Almost a week after my contacts were delivered to my house I was never notified by vision works that my trial pair was ready so I called them and they said they would call me back. Never heard back.

Upon coming to dis location multiple times I have never encounter Amber. Today was da 1st time encountering her and she brung such a great vibe/energy to dis location. She also brings such a warm comfortable feeling. Also da other members at dis location was also very helpful and patients giving that I had my 5 year begin seen at this location alone with my 11 year old. Highly recommend!!!

First time at vision works. Large selection of frames, all reasonably priced. They offer the standard high index lenses with various coatings, much like other glasses stores. The price points are similar. Unfortunately, if you have a large corrective index your lenses will be expensive. The staff of the store went above and beyond in helping me find a pair, and in keeping the store open ten minutes late when my transaction ran late. Great experience.

I was recommended to go here by a neighbor in the community and I am happy I took their advice. The customer service was outstanding. Violeta was able to help me maximize my insurance benefits and also found additional benefits to help me get 2 extra pairs of glasses basically for free. In doing this she ended up having to stay late, after the store had closed, just to make sure we were taken care of. I have gone to multiple eye doctors in the neighborhood and have never had such a good experience. Doctor Miller was also very nice and made my 8 year old feel very comfortable and finally found a pair of contacts comfortable for my wife. I will definitely be back and recommend to Visionworks to my neighbors in the future.

This location was so easy to get to and the staff resolved my issue quickly. As a patient of a different visionworks, they were so quick to help me by supplying me with a seven day sample of contact lenses that matched my prescription. After 2 years of hiding due to the pandemic, I finally came out and got my eyes checked again. Ran out of contacts and needed some ASAP! Everyone here is super friendly and very helpful. Violet took care of me and helped me take full advantage of my insurance benefits for both 2021 and what I didn't use in 2020! She explained all of the costs thoroughly and took the time to help me choose my perfect pair of glasses as well as contacts. I can't wait until my tortoise shell glasses are ready for pick up. This place has kind of gone down hill. The person who was helping me purchase frames was incredibly rude when I asked about getting contacts refills, she freaked out and said Id need another appointment even though my prescription hadn't changed. I don't think I will come back here the selection wasn't good and the employees seem to be underpaid judging by their attitudes. The doctor is cool though he reminds me of Rick Steves

She laid out all the pricing options, with and without add-ons, and made it very easy to pick the right option for my needs given my budget. Can't wait to get my new pair of glasses! EDIT: Looks like the alignment was off but thankfully the staff are super helpful and helped me place a re-order. Still great service, but just having to re-order is a bummer, so had to take a star off.

Hi. This Vision-works Branch on Ellston Avenue is a true gem. My eyeglass frame was a problem from Day 1. And yet from Day 1 the kind people at Vision-Works tried to repair my frame each time I came in. Finally, the frame broke. The lovely ladies their immediately switched my frame with another one that was in stock on the wall. They transferred lenses into the new frame. This process took over an hour to complete but they were so patient and got the job done. Informing me every step of the way. They even waived my deductible as a customer courtesy for my lost time. This is the location that you need to visit if you need new glasses. And do buy the optional warranty. It is worth every dime. Thank you Elston Vision-Works Ladies again!!

I set up my appointment on line. When I arrived I was greeted and helped right away. The general manager, Cole Jobe, was able to determine what my insurance would cover in no time. He encouraged me to look at frames and offered to help. After a short time I was called in to see Dr. Patel, a very pleasant and competent doctor. I have had many years of eye exams and eye doctors on the east coast and in the Midwest, including specialists at Northwestern. The doctor's knowledge and the tests performed matched what I was used to...she was thorough and interested. The atmosphere was very pleasant with some other clients browsing for glasses, not getting rushed by staff. I discovered Visionworks a few years ago, then, later, accidentally went to their competitor. I made sure I would not make that mistake again. Visionworks, thank you all!

First of all HUGE HUGE shoutout to Violetta and Mr. Miller for making my visit the best I could've asked for. Both were knowledgeable, social and really made me feel at ease. It was probably the best vision appointment I've ever had. Mr. Miller made sure to explain in detail in a way that made sense about my vision and never pressured me to buy any extras. He was fun. Violetta is the best associate you could ask for, please make sure she's recognized. She was quick, efficient, friendly and super super knowledgeable. She managed to pick out a pair of glasses I absolutely FELL IN LOVE with within the first ten seconds of me describing I wanted circular frames. She also was very transparent about the costs which were reasonable and really emphasized on why the extras were worth it, (I didn't get any this time but next pair I'm getting the glare glasses for sure). My insurance is changing in the next 30 days and I was looking for a place that could get me in. Thankfully I randomly got a pamphlet, called and was told I could come in in a few days. I came in pretty defensive because I'm used to people trying to upsell me and I just wanted a basic pair of glasses. Violetta and Mr. Miller were always sure to inform me of all my options but I never felt pressured to buy anything which I feel is important. The frames were a little higher end than what i'm used to, (my last eyeware appointment was at Walmart tbh) but it was absolutely worth it. Will definetly be back for my second pair and hope to cross paths with Violetta and Dr. Miller again. Thanks for a great appointment and easy process!

Violetta was open and ready to help me with My prescription sunglasses that snapped in half and still had good lenses. Only wanted to work through using the lenses again as they were expensive to begin with. Instead of pushing me aside like the other two stores (pearle and Americas Best ) did she quickly hopped into action and found me a pair within minutes. Being that it is a holiday week and leaving for travel had to bounce around town running errands she made the effort to bring a solution. Will be back for my next pair of glasses and examine. I walked into Visionworks and recieved immediate attention from a staff member named Jocelyn. She patiently went to every cabinet with me choosing frames for me to try one, and thankfully giving honest options. She picked out the coolest frames for me. I like them so much that I wear them now more than my contacts. She was very good about explaining the difference between the types of lenses. Again giving expertise advice on which choices to make while allowing me to make my own decisions. She was clear about charges. I'd been to 7 places looking for frames and had no luck. When I came back in for a fitting she kindly adjusted the glasses and gave advice about how to get used to trifocals. Then the arm on the glasses broke after a month and I went back in. Again attended to immediately by Cole who was super friendly. He looked up my info and went out of his way to search for the replacement frames. He also gave me a lesson on glass cleaners, some purse size samples on a keychain and was just very kind. The customer service and efficiency at this location was exceptional. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Also the prices are very fair, I got a great deal due to a sale they were having. Grateful!! Went back in for Cole to adjustment glasses and recieved same stellar treatment.

The optometrist I saw was friendly and did a great job explaining the problems with my vision. It is very rare for me to understand what a medical profession is talking about, but when he explained it actually made sense to me :) I used a coupon for a $29 exam, which was accepted. I am the type who prefers to order custom frames online. My experience was easy and efficient, just what I hoped it would be!

Visionworks like it competitor draw you in with that 2 glasses for $69 lie. It is usually around 2 to 3 hundreds dollars for 2 glasses which is still cheap compares to 1 glasses for the same price like the other eye stores. The place is clean and organized and my Doctor have great manners. My problem was with them and my insurance. I think there is some underhanded stuff going on with them and customers' insurance.

Very fast eye exam and helped me pick out some awesome glasses and sunglasses. Provided an incorrect ETA on when my classes would be in. Was told they were part of a shipment that was supposed to arrive 4 days after i ordered them. Called 5 days later to get an update and was told it was going to be another 3-4 days, being Wednesday, that means i won't be seeing them until Saturday- Sunday, which is 8-9 days later. I will not be returning or buying glasses from here again. I also disagree with the company asking you to fill out a review on the day you purchase your glasses. Your review will change by the time you get them so i feel as if they need to ask people when they pick their purchase up. Don't try to get a review before you have completed your end and done your due diligence

Just flew in to Chicago for a Cubs game and left my glasses in Austin. This Visionworks location worked miracles - giving me an eye exam, prescription and glasses out the door in less than an hour. Great staff, very friendly and really went the extra mile. The Best!!!

I read the reviews before I went to this location and decided to judge for myself. My first visit 1 1/2 weeks ago was disappointing. The young lady was very rude and instead of laying out my best options as I continously asked her to, she was short and exhibited poor customer service. I then remembered the employee by the name of Johnathan mentioned in the reviews, but he was not working that day. I called Tuesday to see if Johnathan was in and he was. I went to the store and was greeted by his warm smile. Johnathan sat me down, laid out all my options and made sure I understood. He gave me advice and his recommendations but in the end it was my decision. He made sure I understood what I was getting, pricing, the difference in material, etc. Johnathan is a gem!

Shocked by the negative reviews. The online appointment process is easy and the staff are patient kind and knowledgeable - I took a long time finding the right frames and never once did I feel rushed. The exam itself was done by Dr. Actipes. He clearly knows his stuff and more than that he truly cares about doing his very best for his patients. - Highly recommended.

My glasses wearing partner and I went to Visionworks because we wanted to have contacts for our upcoming trip to the Grand Canyon. We chose Visionworks because it was nearby and accepted our insurance. It was a convenient appointment, and I didn’t expect anything extraordinary. However, Dr. Actipes surprised us by being the best eye doctor either of us had ever seen. Dr. Actipes is exceptionally thorough and checked things that other doctors had never looked at before, like our depth perception abilities and retinal scans. He explained each test in simple, digestible terms and addressed concerns we didn't even know we had. I wish all doctors empowered their patients like Dr. Actipes does! We will definitely return to him when we need to update our eyeballs again next year!

Phenomenal selection of lenses, but the real star of the show here is the optometrist. Dr. Gregory Actipes goes above and beyond because he clearly legitimately cares about you and his trade. He has kept me more informed than any other optometrist, and is always willing to talk through questions or concerns I bring up. He has even helped me handle a blepharitis infection better than the medical doctor I was seeing for it. I will always come here for eye care.
