The doctor was very understanding of the discomfort and issues I was facing with my sight, and was very clear in explaining possible root causes for them. i have been a patient at the Harvard square practice for about a year now, if not for my insurance limitations, I would be getting my eyes checked regularly at this practice. I have been going here for quite a few years. They are very friendly and professional and my prescription is excellent. I went to the Harvard Square office for my checkup and they have a great selection of frames but I went to the Belmont St location the next day to see more frames. Service there was also excellent and I had my glasses in a week.

I have gone to Harvard Square Eyecare for over 20 years, ever since I moved to Cambridge. My best friend recommended it to me. He also goes there. We have both had very good experiences there, and always get our glasses from there. I was moved to write this review because I have had an incredibly good experience working with Bobby Marchant, the optician. I have just had cataract surgery. My prescription is completely new now and I called to get help with finding the best glasses possible I can find. This was very important to me, because before I had surgery my eyesight was so bad I could barely see. I am now seeing wonderfully well and getting the right eyeglasses will be the last tweak on perfecting my eyesight. I am seeing better now than I've ever seen in my life. Bobby had so much knowledge and was so incredibly kind and patient working with me. He helped me to understand every detail re how to choose the best possible progressive lens for me. And he had a very good aesthetic sense as well when it came to choosing the frames. He spent a great deal of time with me going over all the options for frames and for lenses. I recommend Bobby highly. I really trust his advice and it has meant the world to me. This is a very important step for me to get the correct glasses after so many years of not being able to see very well. I am so grateful to Bobby and want to thank him very much for the time and care he spent with me.

The care of stuff and patience Alongside knowledge of Dr Amanda Wiederoder was exceptionally and mostly attentive minutieuse around the eyes check up left me in ease., then I spent some time w Shannon who completed carefully her touch on what type of lenses I should have and fixed an old pair frame for no charge. I left happy and satisfied. In case you wonder it is the store located at Harvard square. 19 Dunster st Cambridge.

I go to the Harvard Square location for my annual eye checkup. The doctors are thorough and kind, not rushed and willing and able to answer questions - clearly passionate about their work. The staff is just phenomenal - offering sound advice and patience in picking out new frames. Not afraid to tell you that the frames you picked are not the best choice - and then recommend a group of choices that just nail it. Highly recommend.

My first visit to this location was great, the front desk staff are professional and straight forward, the doctor was sincere and really on top of her game, at least their attitude didn’t change when I request a copy of my prescription and I am not buying a aye glasses from them like my old place …!! Both myself and my husband visited this location and had a wonderful experience with only one sour note. The optometrist at this location was rude. She seemed bothered by everyone who walked in. She also did not put forth any effort to help us look at glasses. Felt like we were walking on eggshells. But by complete contrast the doctor and the rest of the staff was extremely helpful. Loved, loved the dr!

They collected all of my history before I arrived, to minimize the time I needed to be on the premises. They appear to take Covid protocols very seriously and I felt comfortable during my visit. Easy to get an appointment as a new guest, and very organized - the patient platform is so helpful! They clearly run a tight ship regarding cleanliness during the pandemic. Definitely don't get there too early, though, especially if you've filled out your paperwork online, or you'll have to wait elsewhere.

nothing but a great experience; as a queer homeless guy i always get nervous when dealing with anything medical but i was treated with kindness. this was especially soothing after a bad instance on the train due to my appearance. the eye doctor herself was very kind, making sure i was comfortable and knew what was going on at all times. after getting my prescription another woman helped me pick out glasses and again was nothing but sweet. if anyones wondering they do take masshealth, so i will be sticking with this place and be recommending it to everyone i know.

I've always liked the convenience with an optometrist in Harvard Square but more so that they have the machine that doesn't require the dilation eye drops. A little extra payment but saves the discomfort of having dilated eyes for the rest of the day

Excellent service! Had an emergency repair for glasses I accidentally stepped on and broke. They took me in right away and made needed repairs. I was on my way out10 minutes later with my glasses looking and feeling like they were when they were brand new. Much appreciated service with a smile. I went to get glasses for myself and my daughter and had the best experience. The staff was so knowledgeable about their products and they could easily find exactly what we needed with plenty of options. I wanted an extremely light frame that I could use for sports and everyday and I had so much to choose from. They found my picky daughter some really great frames as well. Dr. Dickerman was great giving my anxious daughter an eye test and even helped her with contacts (a tough job!). I don't usually write reviews for businesses, but I really thought this place went above and beyond in their servicing. The last eye care place I went into, the staff barely noticed me and didn't offer to help me after 20 min! Loved the location on 19 Dunster St--will tell my friends to got there as well.

I was a little nervous because I was 5 years overdue for an eye appointment and needed a new doctor. I also have a condition causing legal blindness and couldn’t get ahold of my old doctor before my appointment. The staff was super polite and very helpful even though I didn’t have any up to date medical files when I got there! I felt no judgement at all for coming empty handed! Dr. Rayla was AMAZING and very nice! I felt totally comfortable and she seemed more thorough and intelligent than most of the eye specialists I’d seen in the past! She made some great recommendations on what types of bifocals could work best with my job’s duties and recommended next steps to get my low vision eye appointments back on track. If you’re looking for a good eye doctor, definitely go here! They also do SATURDAY appointments which I absolutely love!!! I don’t really know why they have so many 1 star reviews because they were great.

Scheduling was easy. Worked with Dr Rittichier, who was very patient with me as I learned to use contacts for the first time. Love my glasses that she helped me choose . The lenses in the glasses have held up well, scratch resistant and sturdy. Would highly recommend this office for contact help and purchasing glasses . Great experience

My whole family has been going to Harvard Square Eye Care (Belmont St. location) for several years now, and both the doctor and staff are terrific. Dr. Dickerman is a thorough, caring optometrist with a good eye for frames — she is really helpful in picking out glasses that look good on you. I love the selection of frames... modern and chic but also practical. It’s hard to walk out of there with only one pair! Glasses are ready exactly when they say, excellent service, and if you have a problem with any product you take home, Dr. Dickerman will help you choose something else and/or adjust what you bought. All around great experience.

I was travelling and forgot to bring my glasses AND lenses with me. I have a very high prescription which most places do not have in stock. I was able to call this location right when they opened and within an hour had a pair of contacts ready for me and would have also had glasses if I wanted to.
