I was having terrible eye pain upon waking and was seen today by Dr. Garlich. After a thorough exam she explained that the cornea swells during the night and because of my dry eyes it feels like my eyelid is ripping out the cornea (ouch)! She gave me plenty of otc options to help ease my discomfort and suggested the best eye gel to use at bedtime so that I have no more eye pain. She also explained an in office procedure they can do in their office if the problem does not improve. I am thrilled to find this gem of an office. Dr. Garlich and Dr. Lister are both amazing eye doctors who love helping their customers have the best eye health possible.

72 hours post Amazing experience with Dr Garlich and the OptiLight Treatment for dry eye and some reoccurring issues. She made me feel comfortable for a bit of an unusual treatment but it was absolutely painless, and actually felt nice. She took photos of my tear ducts and thoroughly discussed with me with me my current situation and a treatment plan along with home care and educational materials. The BEST part? My eyes are already feeling better?! Vision is clear, they’re feeling less dry, and they actually appear brighter and more open. Will follow up after my series of tx!

I've been coming to this office for several years. Drs. Lister and Garlich are thoughtful and thorough offering advice tailored to your individual concerns and constraints. Appointments are efficient, but you'll never feel rushed. The staff is helpful and attentive. The office is clean and comfortable in an accessible location. Parking can be a challenge and expensive, but only a 10 minute walk from the Government Center T station.

The Doctor was great -- very friendly, very good at talking through the answers to my questions. One exceptional part of the visit was that the woman at the front desk was able to use my medical insurance card to guess my vision insurance provider and call them up to get all my plan info all before I could find even the email about my insurance on my phone. LOVE this practice! I have been coming here for many years through a couple of changes in ownership, and I have to say, unlike so many other things in life, this place just keeps getting better and better! Dr Garlich and her team are top notch! My recent experiences with eye exams and the purchase of new Eyewear were wonderful! The entire team is professional, knowledgeable and so welcoming! Dr Garlich is thorough in her examinations, and I appreciate her "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" approach! The Eyewear line, while I will admit can be a tad pricey, is extensive and lovely, with high quality lenses (You truly do get what you pay for!). And their 50% off other pairs offer is a great deal! It gives you all kinds of options, and allowed me to refurbish a much loved pair of prescription sunglasses i already owned. Oh, and I must mention, Dr Garlich is also an excellent model for their Eyewear line...I ended up ordering a pair that she was wearing during my exam! I no longer work in Boston and have many Eye Care facilities near my home that I could go to, but to me, the hour long commute into Boston is well worth it in order to experience all that Envision has to offer!

I have terrible vision and move to different cities frequently, so I've tried quite a few optometrists. Dr. Garlich is by far my favorite. She's very knowledgeable, patient, and open to discussing any and all concerns. I trust her recommendations and never feel like she's trying to push anything on me, which I've experienced in the past. She seems genuinely interested in matching me with the best contacts for my needs and caring for my vision - always providing me with ample samples to try out before I commit to a purchase and giving me tips to alleviate some of the minor symptoms I experience. The office staff is also friendly, professional, and easy to work with. :)

DrGarlich caught a tear in my retina as part of a thorough regular eye exam. She is a real pro. It’s so important to get your eyes examined by a professional. She immediately got me an appointment at Mass Eye and Ear for micro laser surgery. This saved me from a detached retina. Clark was wonderful fitting us with new glasses. There is a difference going to a real optician versus the less personal chain eyewear shops. I’m almost certain their exams would not have detected my torn retina. It was in a nearly impossible location to spot. Truly grateful to the team at Envision.

I had extremely expensive glasses made here about 2 years ago. Generally good experience with that process. I was told to come back “anytime” for adjustments, when I have done that, it’s been curt and dismissive service. Disappointing that this shop isn’t fantastic always. Better service at warby parker when i’ve had glasses adjusted there.

I recently had my first appointment at Envision Optometry as a friend recommended them when I told her I wanted to find a new eye doctor. I’ve been wearing glasses my whole life, so this is a world I’m very familiar with and I’ve never enjoyed my yearly checkups for various reasons. I had my appointment with Dr. Garlich and from the moment my appointment began I new I had found my new eye doctor. Dr. Garlich is so friendly, funny, personable, and real. She asked me what I was looking to get out of my appointment, which I’ve never been asked. I explained that I can’t remember the last time my prescription was updated and I know I can get a prescription that is clearer and simply helps me see better in various situations. She was very supportive and confident that she can help me get there. She spent a lot of time asking me questions and going through various tests to make sure she was going to give me exactly what I needed. When it was time for the eye drops I told her that’s going to be a no for me, as no one is able to get eye drops in my eye bc my eyes automatically shut if anything goes toward them. She told me that’s completely normal and what they should do bc of reflexes (haha) and she wanted the challenge. Unfortunately, my reflexes won, but Dr. Garlich did not give up and came up with another way to get the drops into my eye (used on kids, haha) and we got them in! Dr. Garlich also did not pressure me at all about buying my glasses from Envision Optometry, which is a big reason I don’t like going to the eye doctor. Dr. Garlich is one of those professionals who clearly loves what she does and this is made evident in her passion toward helping her patients and making them feel comfortable. Thanks, again, Dr. Garlich!
