Easy to make an appointment with good availability. The tech didn't introduce themselves but he was friendly and polite. Dr. Davis was mediocre. I'm sure he was trying to see patients quickly which is the demand. The nicest person was the glasses salesman, Dave. He was very personable. Overall, the experience was fine.

Highly recommended ! I always enjoy my appointments at McNeel Eye Center! The exams are comprehensive and done quickly, with very short wait times. Dr. McNeel and I share an enjoyment of fly fishing and backpacking in Idaho, and he has given me some excellent tips on those topics! 👍

Dr Brian was great, I have really good vision but deal with chronic dry eyes. He really took the time for patient education. He did a great job ensuring I understood methods I could use for relieving irritation that were non pharmacological but gave me a sample for the prescription grade eye drops to see if that might also help me. Front office is super sweet and the medical assistant Michael was super patient with my blinking during the retina pictures. Thanks McNeek!

I had an amazing experience. I had a pair of glasses I’d purchased from them and they just weren’t working for me for a number of reasons. I went in and met with Ali and she was absolutely spectacular. She took every aspect into consideration and helped me get set up with a better pair of glasses. For something that you wear every day, it’s essential. Very grateful for her patience and attention to detail.

Without a doubt, the BEST experience I have had at an Optometrist. The front desk was friendly, super helpful, and proactive. I was told ahead of time that the last minute slot I accepted could take a bit longer, as the doctor had a couple patients who required a bit more time right before me. The doctor was simply amazing. Although he was running late (literally running into the exam room), not only did he take the time to explain things to me, but shared personal stories and seemed to genuinely want to create lasting rapport. After the exam, the two opticians were ready and well aware. The attentiveness and communication was unparalleled to any experience I’ve had. I wasn’t told to roam and find my own glasses, to then report back. The helpfulness was truly superb. This will absolutely be the office I book going forward, as well as my referral for anyone who asks.

I’ve been going here for 7 years now and have been scheduled with various Dr’s through the years. My last couple of visits were with Dr. McNeel. I was very discouraged and not pleased. He’s kind but hasty and seems to care more about incentives pharmaceutical companies offer him, rather than the health and well being of clients. He highly encouraged me to fill a prescription for eye drops after telling me he had gone to lunches with the company and received incentives from them. He gave me a few trial tubes, and the drops left a ghastly Metallic taste in my mouth as that is a side effect. He told me it was going to be A minimal charge, for the product, with my insurance and I could try and get through it. It broke my trust and I never filled the prescription. This past visit I was scheduled with Dr. Thomas and she is AMAZING!! Incredibly thorough, kindly informative, and genuinely caring. The assistants in this office are A1 as well! Honestly, I would have given this business a 1 star review, if not for her and the staff. If you go here schedule with Dr. Thomas! I am referring friends, family, and clients to her.

Its hard for me to find optometrists that understand/care about the nuances of my eyes and how they fatigue. This wast first appointment here and Dr. Thomas treated me very well and helped me get the exact right prescription! Office clerks/receptionists were really kind and patient as well, and the person who outfitted me with my new frames was kind and straightforward and helped me pick glasses that were good looking and within my price range!

I thought I could save a few dollars and purchase my eye glasses from a bog box store 6 months ago. McNeel Eye Center has been a great experience. Dr. McNeel has bent over backward to make sure all my concerns and questions are properly handled. I've spent a good amount of time in the office with various appointments between getting diagnosed and fitted for gas permeable contact lenses. In that time, I've always found the doctor and staff very pleasant and friendly. I'm not sure why one reviewer would ding them for only having one doctor. In my opinion, the centers with multiple doctors are nothing more than volume cattle calling with little or no relationship between patient and doctor. I believe a one doc practice will spend the time fostering good relationships with the patients, and that has been my experience with McNeel. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Our entire family has been seeing Dr McNeel for years, and we wouldn't think of going anywhere else! Dr McNeel is the most caring doctor we have ever had! When my elderly mother's cataract lens became detached, Dr McNeel worked closely with a specialist to replace the cataract lens. Before we found Dr McNeel, we went to another eye clinic in Boise, and those appointments would take two hours. The doctor would pop in for a moment and then he was gone. At McNeel Eye Center, you will find the staff to be warm and efficient and Dr McNeel takes his time with you, making sure to answer any questions you might have. If you are looking for an eye doctor that takes a real interest in the health of your eyes, do yourself a favor, and make an appointment with Dr McNeel. Plus, they have an amazing selection of eye wear to choose from!

This is a very impressive office. I didn't have to wait long to get in for an appointment and I didn't have to sit and wait forever in the waiting room either. Dr. McNeel was very thorough in my exam and very personable as well. The office staff knew my insurance coverage and was very helpful in explaining the benefits to me so that I understood them as well. I have been very pleased with the quality of frames and lenses that I have purchased from them and their office staff is very knowledgeable about what options are available. This is not one of those "McGlasses" type of places at all. You get good quality stuff from here; not the dime-store leftovers they sell at those other places. The whole experience was very pleasant and I will continue to recommend this office to anyone who needs a new eye doctor.

Dr McNeel did a great job covering all aspects of eye health for me, including dry eye syndrome I potentially face from extended computer use. They also carry high quality frame and coating brands. This is no discount store. These glasses are made to last! With my insurance, the cost came out to less than the "2 for $79" deals they offer at discount stores too, which add up quickly if you want anti-reflective coating and a frame that looks good.

Hey these guys are first class. Justin is Super, incredible, helpful and way on it. . I’ve had great buying experiences here. Had some frames that broke - was totally my fault- replaced free of charge (usually a service fee) - would have happily paid as I had no idea they would replace frames that broke when it’s my fault. Great for Smith, Oakley etc and custom ordering.

I really like Dr. McNeel. He took time with me during my eye test. My eyes get tired and everything starts looking the same. He was kind and patient. I had previously gone to Walmart for 2 pairs of glasses that I literally could not see through and had to return. My glasses from McNeel were great. I thought the staff was very good. I am in Florida now, but upon return I will schedule my appt. with them again.

My son was choking on a hard candy in their office and Matthew came out, performed the heimlich and walked away like he didn't just save his life. The front office lady was so sweet and got him water and made sure we were ok. Dave was so nice when helping us with glasses and even forgot to charge for my exam. When he called he offered to pay for it and I'd pay him back when I pick up glasses! I can't thank everyone enough for coming to help and I'm so impressed with your staff!
