Many thanks to the wonderful office staff who were able to provide much needed daily contacts before a long holiday (and hockey tournament) weekend - something no other eyecare offices were able to help with. I haven’t had an eye exam in years, and wow technology has changed. My boyfriend is a patient here and referred me. I couldn’t be happier, from the moment I walked in to the moment i said goodbye. Every team member were very professional, kind, gentle, and thorough. They explained everything clearly, which is good since I don’t know anything about eyes!!! No more eye dilation, and guess what guys; there isn’t even the puff of air in your eyeball!! I absolutely trust and respect Dr. Stebel. He is witty, and has way of making me feel comfortable. My family have been going to Boise Mountain Eyecare for years. They are alway nice and professional and answer any questions we have. I went in yesterday to have my checkup and was supper excited to get some new glasses. Kayla was just as excited to help me find glasses as I was. She was supper friendly and was fun to talk to. She helped me find my new pair of glasses and even helped me find some sunglasses. She answered all my questions and helped me find things in my price range. I highly recommend anyone to go here. You will find a awesome team and won't want to go anywhere else.

Dr. Holly is amazing. After a really bad and disheartening experience at another eye center I was desperate to find someone who could help. She has gone above and beyond to help and come up with a treatment plan that is actually helping. I'm hopeful again thanks to her and her amazing staff. We’ve been coming to BME since this guy got his first pair of glasses in Kindergarten! Thirteen years later, we are still buying ALL of our glasses here. The lenses are better quality, they just are. It’s hard to know if a child is “seeing okay” and with our glasses from BME, I don’t have to worry. I KNOW the lenses are of the best quality. We’ve tried the cheaper options and they just aren’t as good. Besides, if you have any broken bits or bobs or need an adjustment, you can just take them in and have them adjusted by a real person. THAT is invaluable.

I had issues at another eye doctor and it also caused issues with my insurance. I ended up finding Boise Mountain Eyecare on my vision insurance website and I could not be more happy! I went in today and was greeted by an amazing group of staff that all pitched in to help with my issue and they didn't give up. They made me feel very welcome, took my stress away and even called my insurance company for me. They resolved all my issues and had my contacts ordered right away. I highly recommend them and I will definitely be going back! I didn't get all their names but they made my day!

Awesome office, great selection and the staff is right there to assist with frame and lens choices. Amy's got a great eye for such things! Can't wait to get my glasses! Shout out to both docs - between them they took great care of my wife & I. Keoni was great with the intake and really puts ya at ease running all the tests, which is a huge plus for someone coming in without any real experience with glasses. My first time coming here I left the review below, but I just went again and again... I loved coming here! Kind of want to work there just to be apart of their team. They are SO. NICE. And so caring. It’s the best service of any doctor, store, etc that you will have. I loved coming here. I’ve always gone to large corporate eye care centers and this was a completely different experience. Like many other reviewers, I found the new patient process simple, and the staff was professional and friendly. I felt the doctor was thorough, and I didn't feel forced into what he wanted as far as contacts are concerned. Everything was explained in detail, and the staff member who helped me find my new glasses (Jacob) explained all of my insurance benefits. He made recommendations, but I was able to pick and choose what I liked. Boise Mountain Eyecare definitely has a returning customer!

Super friendly staff!! Not much of a wait time so that was great. They take Medicaid for the eye exam portion but there’s frame & lens package was more than most Medicaid patients make on s month!! They took the frame joint on ustick. The only other thing I think they could have done was offer to clean my current glasses when they checked the Perscription ( most offices do this). Otherwise I would definitely refer them.

10/10 Oh my gosh. So i just moved into the area and needed new glasses and i’m so glad I chose Boise Mountain Eye care. From the moment i stepped foot in the door everyone was so hospitable and nice. The front desk staff helped me with everything I needed and answered all questions. When i went to the back to get my exam I was absolutely amazed by the information that was given and how many details they have me about my eyes. The doctor was so helpful and made sure K didn’t have any questions and explained everything that was going on with my eyes in terms that i could understand. My absolute favorite part was trying on glasses with Jacob. He helped me pick out glasses and was very honest with how they looked on me which was very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone on this planet. Cannot wait to get my eyes checked again !

As a new patient I was really happy I chose Boise Mountain Eyecare. After moving to Boise I realized I needed to find a new eye doctor after 10 years with my family doctor back home. I was unsure of who to choose after so many years with the same specialist so I compared what my insurance covered and who had the best reviews. After my experience I can confidently say I made the right choice. Everything about Boise Mountain Eyecare is as good as the reviews here say. The staff were professional yet personable and were happy to answer all the questions I had. The facility was modern and not overly sterile feeling with the latest technology to serve you as a patient. They had a really cool machine that was able to fully scan my eyes and Dr. Holly Stebel walked me through the basic anatomy of my very own eyes and all their details. My appointment was to get my prescription for my glasses and contacts updated and even as a new patient the whole process was quick and easy. I was happy to find out that their contact lenses are competitively priced with other suppliers like Costco which was a major benefit as well. Overall my experience at Boise Mountain Eyecare was wonderful. I recommend anyone searching for a new eye doctor to give this place a try!

They did a great job abiding by the CDC sanitation guidelines and the front desk was so friendly and delightful! I recommend this place for eye exams! I had a delightful experience with the doctor there and he took his time to find out what worked best for me. He listened and was very attentive to what I had to say. Definitely would go again for the exam! The reason why I’m giving it 4 stars is because after the eye exam I felt a little pressured to purchase glasses from there as well. And I got quoted a ridiculous amount for just the lenses. After that, I went to Costco and was quoted way (!!!) less than what this place quoted me. Please, if you are on a budget, get your glasses from somewhere else.

Very friendly, professional and they made the in-take and appointment process super easy from start to finish. The staff and technician, Michael, were amazing! The best part was choosing the glasses. I was nervous to check out the many pairs, but Jacob had several eye glasses choosen from me and it made the process so much faster. I never imagined how fun it would be to pick out glasses. He picked some professional glasses as well as some fun glasses and I felt confident in all of them! I was able to quickly make a choose and loved the pair I choose! I visited for a very specific condition this office diagnosed me with a few years back. EDIT: They should have reviewed the diagnosis and any notes from my chart while I was there since they dx me this condition to begin with. The Dr I met with today seemed to disregard my concern about how my glasses are working for my condition. It requires a specific type of lenses but I was prescribed something totally different. EDIT: the owner seems to think I was prescribed something to help. Just because I was given a script doesn't mean it is the correct one or for the condition I visited for. It felt a bit rushed. When I'd ask a question, it was essentially answered the same way just explained in a different way so I don't feel like we were having a productive conversation. The front desk lady that greeted me was a bit crass at times in our conversation. It was so loud in the reception area I could barely hear what she was saying. ETA: the noise wasn't from children. It's just because all the optical sales, waiting area, and reception area are open. It's not a bad thing but if your are hard of hearing, it's too difficult to hear a whispering receptionist. The waiting area is so cramped I was toe to toe with the other ladies that were waiting. Bonus- they have a special waiting nook for kids. The lady assisting with lenses and pricing seemed to be new or nervous but it was challenging to understand what she was saying. ETA: it's not a bad thing she was new or nervous. Or both. I was very patient and kind. The issue was the sole fact that she couldn't answer my questions about insurance coverage for the lense recommendation they were giving. She couldnt articulate the information clearly. After trying to get to the bottom of it, I decided I'd go somewhere else. She was very sweet but if she can't do the job, she simply needs more training or practice interacting. I'm fully aware it takes time, but the job wasn't getting done period. I was shocked at how expensive their prices are. ETA: I went elsewhere to get glasses and only spent $70 compared to the $300 I was quoted. I used my insurance at the separate place but their prices to start with were less and this maximized my benefit from insurance. It's also super inappropriate this business owner is stating I was written a script and that I'm on my parents insurance. These are facts but I feel it a bit odd they'd post personal things on google reviews? I feel like my time was wasted and that's frustrating as I have two kids to cart around and arrange child care for. Plus I used my one free exam so I can't go elsewhere for a second opinion without having to pay totally out of pocket. I won't return for the free second opinion as I didn't care for the experience at all. I repeated several times at my first exam I was seen at this clinic for this issue and it should be in my chart and not once did they go back to look. The man doing the tests before you see the doctor was so kind and personable. He was quick but didn't rush. He was knowledgeable and patient with me during the eye pressure exam. This interaction was the best part of the experience.

Dr Todd Stebel is exceptional. His experience and knowledge provided accurate diagnosis for difficult issues within my family. Here is an example that was highly dangerous. My 15 year old son was seen by an Urgent Care facility not once but twice because symptoms continued to get worse. That Urgent Care facility had no idea what they were seeing with the symptoms my son presented, they offered eye drops and antibiotics but my son continued to have a temperature and symptoms worsened. I call Dr Stebel, he saw my son and accurately diagnosed the symptoms which involved immediate hospitalization and surgery. Had it not been for Dr Stebel the end result could have been disastrous for my son. The short version of the situation was a bad case of Strep that involved a sinus infection that resulted in an abscess behind his left eye, causing it to protrude. Very dangerous and rare. Needless to say, Dr Stebel really knows his field. As a Mother and patient I whole heartedly have faith and confidence in this practice.
