I was so impressed with how friendly and welcoming the entire staff was. The knowledge and care of the doctors and staff there was beyond any other eye clinic I have been to (in my 30 years of life). They were very thorough, informative, and personable. It was truly an all-around wonderful experience. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a skilled and caring eye doctor. Dr. Fisk and his staff were truly amazing!

Dr Ray is amazing. She recently evaluated my toddler, and made the experience fun. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. She explained everything to me in terms I could understand, and took her time to answer all of my questions. I can tell Dr Ray truly cares for her patients. Her assistant was just as kind and all staff was very friendly. If you are looking for an eye doctor for your child, I would highly recommend Dr Ray.

My daughter is a very independent and strong willed child. I thought the appointment would be a trying on. But they made it so fun for her and they all did very well making sure she wasn’t uncomfortable with anything they were doing! So happy to have found them and will definitely be using them for the extended future.

I chose to schedule an eye exam here at random, as it happened to be the closest to my work. Great choice, as I feel like It was the best eye exam I’ve ever had! Dr. Essinger was personable and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to show me my retinal scan (which was super cool) and explain exactly what I was seeing and how it related to my vision. He also recommended a supplement to improve my macular pigment, and gave me an extra pair of contacts so I could try out a new brand that just came out. Way better experience than going to a chain like Target or LensCrafters as I have in the past. Other employees were also great, even though I think I was keeping them from their lunch break. Highly recommend coming here!

Since I had iLasic surgery i had experienced a slight issue with my vision post op. More recently I have felt my eyes straining over 2 years after the procedure. After seeing the reviews here on google I made an appointment. I was NOT disappointed! I had a wonderful interaction with the staff. Even while suffering a network problem with their systems they were able to do my workup without a hitch. Dr. Essinger took the time to understand my vision concerns and provided me with an exam that identified that i only have a minor need for correction. The options and advice provided were exactly what I needed to know and I would gladly direct friends and family to come to Vestavia Eye Care for their needs.

I am actually at the office waiting to see Dr. E, and I am listening to someone who works here call other optometrists’ offices in a city across the country because one of their patients forgot her contact lenses while on vacation, and they are calling offices in this city to find their patient some contact lenses. THIS is going above and beyond, and this is why I love them. Everyone is so nice here, and you will receive excellent care.

These are the most caring doctors I've been to. They are unfailingly pleasant, courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. Usually I see Dr. Fisk, who is wonderful, but recently I had a problem with my eyes and was assisted by Drs. Essinger and Ray. So now I know for sure that everyone is great. And the staff and friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend this practice!

l wanted to thank Dr. Essinger and the entire staff for the personal attention provided during my recent eye examination and purchase of new glasses and sunglasses. I moved from my previous optometrist due to their poor service and what seemed to be lack of caring. Their prescription was wrong and I lived with it for a year.
