This is absolutely the best place you can go to take care of your eyes. They are friendly, diligent, and I can always get an appointment when I need one. They are very flexible with scheduling and work with you. All of the staff greet you with a smile and treat you with respect. The Doctors here are equally as friendly and they will explain everything they are doing with you instead of just silently going through the motions. I appreciate their communication and how they tell you how and why they are doing their tests. Good communication is something you don't come by very often in a doctor's office anymore. This place is fantastic with communication. Highly recommend this business for all of your optical needs.

Everything was fantastic. The front greeting was lovely. Then the young lady that did the first part of the exam was just fun. Then Dr Shen was super great and explained a lot. The next step was this adorable pregnant lady that I called my image consultant since she helped find the right look and then did the measurements. My family has been going here for years. Very friendly and competent staff. Dr. Shin is so real and down to earth. A totally pleasant experience. Their prices on glasses are on the high side but they are very up front and honest about all options available. That being said, I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for. The service just can't be beat -including follow-up adjustments. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!

The Doctors are great but the sales office is misleading and disappointing. Was told a week for glasses before I paid. After I paid, I was told two weeks. No calls without me calling them first and it has now taken a MONTH for a very simple prescription. Get your prescription and take it elsewhere. Update: When I confronted them about the issues, they were gracious in listening. Upgraded my review for the response.

Eye place is right off the bus route and I loved that office! Got in and got out no excessive waiting for my appointment and total appointment time and exam was 30 ish min. They were quick and kind! Came from katzen eye group and too corporate for my liking anymore. This place was clean, their staff were attentive, and they were clearly trained on each step of the eye appointment. Plus, their eye equipment seems more up to date than the corporate katzen.

Very personable team. Very comprehensive and comfortable eye exam process. Doctor is also very friendly, asked thorough questions, and provided reassuring feedback. There was no wait time and all Covid-19 protocols were carefully adhered to. There was a great selection of frames, especially designer frames at a pretty reasonable price. I will definitely be coming back for annual eye exams and optometry follow-up visits. The entire staff was great. My process overall took less than an hour but did not seem rushed. The customer service can’t be beat! My son’s Oakley glasses broke at the screw part. We came in an hour before close and they put his lens in a new Oakley frame (the same as his but a new color) while we wait for a new frame. Dr. Shin is a great Dr. I was sad to hear she left My Eye Dr. but when I found her here I was so happy. She caught an eye issue in my son a few years ago that no one else did. Catonsville Eye group was fabulous from the front office staff to picking out the glasses. I bought 2 pairs of progressive glasses that were not much more than I spent on one pair that I got at My Eye Dr. My whole family will be coming here! Well worth the drive.

Had a great experience so far, I'll try to remember to post an update once my glasses arrive. I scheduled an appt by phone with Dr. Shin. They had me fill out an history form online which she had reviewed in advance. I arrived early and she was ready to see me early. She was professional, friendly, and did a thorough exam. I then ordered a cute pair of glasses that I'm excited about, and I'm pretty picky about glasses. Was told they should be ready in 2-3 weeks which seems reasonable. My only complaint so far - when I was there I asked for a printed copy of an itemized receipt since I need that for my medical FSA account and was told they don't do that but they would send it by email. It arrived hours later once I was home and it is not itemized so it does me no good unfortunately. I feel like FSA accounts have to be a common form of payment so it is odd to me that even when specifically requested they wouldn't print or email an itemized receipt.

I and my wife have been in search of a good optician/group for some time now. After a lot of web searching we found the Catonsville Eye Group. And I was fortunate enough to be examined by Dr. Shin. I am extremely nearsighted so fine tuning a prescription is very difficult. She was very very patient. And spent extra time with me and my wife to explain that new glasses were not the best option because the improvement with them would be marginal and likely fleeting. I have cataracts and needed a lens replacements..... but it was my call. How many places say; 'don't waste your money'? They could have sold me new glasses. And besides that, my wife had been having issues with glasses she just recently purchased at a chain and they were uncomfortable for her. She had been back to the chain several times for adjustments with no improvement. Long story short, they fixed it and made it comfortable ..... perfectly in less than 15 minutes. Can't say enough about the Dr., the tech(s) and the front desk people. Excellent!

This place is amazing. I went for an eye exam my first in a long time and because of a eye hemorrhage. I don’t remember the young lady who checked me in but she assured me my eye looked worst that it was. I guess she could sense my anexity - she put me right at ease. By the end of my appointment she was absolutely correct my eye looked bad but I had nothing to worry about. Dr. Bondroff put me at ease about my eye as well and assured me I had nothing to worry about. My eyesight proved to be excellent so I didn’t need any glasses. When you enter Catonsville Eye Group, the office is bright, clean and the setup was thought through carefully to "flow" through one's experience. Next you are greeted by very supportive people at the front desk, who always make one feel like they are waiting just for you. When your name is called by the technician, they are pleasant and take you through each step of the initial check of your eyes. If you are diabetic you may also get a puff of air in each eye, which always makes me jump a little, even though I know it's coming. :) Then you are guided to your eye exam room to meet your doctor. I had been seeing Dr. Feldman until his retirement. He was so nice and had a great sense of humor. Now I see Dr. Bondroff, who is fantastic himself, also funny and also a straight shooter (which I thoroughly appreciate). He listens to his patients and answers questions thoroughly. Your doctor will then guide you to the sitting area (if you are there to get new glasses like I usually am) to speak with an specialist (I don't know their actual titles) to discuss what options you have based on one's insurance or not and pricing of lenses, frames and any options. From the moment you walk through the door to walking out the door the people are extremely knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and help make your time a pleasant experience. I highly recommend them to everyone!

Their Covid-19 safety practices and mask requirements are designed to keep all clients safe while in their store. Dr. Shin is new to the practice. Every person we (my adult daughter and I) came in contact with was professional in demeanor and extremely pleasant to work with. This was especially true of Dr. Novy who patiently answered all of our questions and addressed every concern that we had. Furthermore they not only asked us the covid19 questions that everyone is asking but also took our temperatures and measured our blood oxygen. They also asked us to wash our hand which was a first for me. They also had the waiting area arranged so that patients were forced to sit more than six feet apart. Additionally they do not allow you to try on glasses and return them to the rack. I felt they were doing more in regard to prohibiting the passing of the virus than any place I have been since this all began. I truly enjoyed my visit and will definitely become a regular patient.

From the word "go" the staff was exceedingly friendly and professional. When I called to make my initial appointment, we tried to verify my insurance and were having some difficulty. The young lady in the office who took the call stayed on the phone and checked multiple options to verify that they did in fact take my insurance (which for some odd reason was under a different name). Upon arrival, I was whisked to the back by the very personable doctor. He explained what he was doing and why (something I truly liked) and never made me felt like he was rushing through my visit to get to the next person waiting. I felt valued and respected, which is sometimes rare with doctors today. The office is cozy and clean and not "commercial" which you sometimes get with the larger chain vision centers. They have a nice selection of frames from functional to name brand. All in all it was a wonderful experience and I would recommend this location to anyone.

As others have mentioned in their reviews, this place provides great customer service and treats their patients respectfully. However, they don't make it clear for contact lenses exam that if you have developed astigmatism since your last eye exam, you will be considered "new set" and be charged significantly more. I took my old prescription to them and one of the ladies on the counter told me it would be $45 dollar (with insurance) because I am considered "reset", however after the exam they charged me $102 dollar (with insurance) because I have developed astigmatism and it is considered "new set". They should inform patients about his beforehand or hold off giving a quote until eye exam is done. Just wanted to make everyone aware of it since they don't. Other than this issue, my experience was great! Edit: Changing my review to 5 star because they refunded me the difference.

I recently had my yearly eye exam with Dr. Jon Bondroff. Dr. Bondroff’s exams are comprehensive as he is an excellent diagnostician! He explains everything clearly with his extensive knowledge, enthusiasm, & patience! About 6 mos ago, I’ve “upped my game” to the new NeuroLens! I highly recommend giving them a try. The lens has drastically improved my night vision especially for driving. This has been a major concern of mine in recent years. I feel much more confident about that now. Additionally, I believe that the NeuroLens has also helped to reduce my headaches. After, my exam I had the best time selecting new frames for me updated prescription.
