The facility is brand new, modern, clean, and inviting. The staff was very friendly to me (even offered me water as I looked around the optical shop!). I ended up buying 3 new pairs of glasses; all of which had Ovation’s very unique looking frames. They also specially made my lenses in-house, so I received my glasses very quickly. Let’s just say I’ll definitely be back! Thanks Ovation!

I am so thankful Dr. Burris and the rest of the team at Ovation. I woke up early one morning without sight in my left eye and left a panicked voicemail at the office. Dr. Burris called me back 15 minutes later and opened the office early to fit me into the schedule. My eyesight is returning, and I feel blessed to have received such great care. The office went above and beyond to work with me while my insurance switched over due to a job change in the middle of everything else. I will be a patient for years to come. We are lucky to have such a wonderful Ophthalmologist here the Navy Yard.

OMG! I found the best eye doctor in the DMV! Dr. Burris is absolutely amazing and professional. He is very through, explains in detail his findings and what to look out for and expect in the future. It's the level of service patients wish all their doctor's would provide but often don't receive. With Dr. Burris you are not just a statistic, but rather a human being and treated with nothing but respect, patience and caring warmth. I love that he is an African American taking care of his community. The entire staff is totally professional and provides outstanding customer service. All of glass are all stylish and to die for and you can't help but to purchase more than one. I am so glad I found this place. My eyes are in good hands at Ovation Eye Institute.

This place is great. Everyone is friendly and very professional and high tech. Get there a little early for registration because if your appointment is at 11:30 you will be seen at that time.

Beautiful and super modern office. Dr. Burris was the absolute BEST - he took the time to explain the tests he did and took even more time to explain the tests I need moving forward. He is so knowledgable and patient and just wonderful. Literally, could not ask for more in a first visit. Also, I was able to get my prescription readers filled within MINUTES by Tony, who is equally as awesome as Dr. Burris. He helped me try on several frames and decide on the best look for my face shape and the FRAMES are amazing! So happy with them and with Dr. Burris' office, in general. And last but not least, Ali - he got me in sooner than I expected because he knew I broke my glasses and needed a replacement set ASAP and so helpful... Highly recommend - this office is as good as it gets. - Dawn

I had an awesome visit at Ovation. The host was very helpful and professional. He explained everything clearly. The eye doctor was very thorough in his exam. He asked plenty of questions with care and gave lots of valuable advice as well. I will definitely make this my permanent place for my annual eye exams. If I could give more stars, I would...they both deserve them.

My experience with Ovation Eye Institute was excellent! The office is in a great location with parking. It is also not too far of a walk from the metro. The entire staff was professional, courteous and helpful. Dr. Burris was polite and informative. I went in for an eye exam and ended up buying two pair of eyeglasses. And I love them!

Best care Ive ever received!! I love the fact that I walk in to a clean, never crowded environment. I also love that my care is explained in a way i understand it. The glasses options are very fashionable. Most important to me is that my eyes are being taking care of by a african american ophthalmologist!!!! Can we say WINNING!!!!!! I love seeing my people in this field because it gives me comfort. Extra bonus none of these men that work here are hard on the eyes! So thank you to the team at Ovation!

I was visiting DC on vacation and needed an emergency appointment late on a Saturday afternoon. Dr. Burris went the extra mile in seeing me on his day off as I needed my eye dilated due to my fearing that I had a detached retina. With compassionate warmth and thorough care, he confirmed the diagnosis, and then referred me to an excellent ophthalmologist who did emergency surgery the next morning. Had it not been for Dr. Burris's accurate clinical analysis, diagnosis, and treatment, I could have lost my eye sight due to the urgency involved with a detached retina. I am forever grateful to him and I highly recommend him. In fact, I wish I lived closer so I could continue seeing him for all my eye care needs.

I was referred to Dr. Burris at Ovation Eye Institute for the removal of numerous skin tags and moles from my eye area. I was immensely pleased with the service I received. The doctor used numbing cream first followed by the teeniest shots of pain killers before snipping them off. I didn’t feel a thing. He kept me informed as he proceeded, checked to see how I was feeling often, and even asked if I wanted to listen to some music. I recommend him to family as soon as I got in my car.

Highly recommend this Eye institute to everyone!!! When I came to this place I was very impressed with how futuristic and professional it looks! After a nice receptionist introduced me to Dr Burris he was kind enough to take a take me on a tour and show me around this place - the labs were spacious and beautiful and all of the equipment was completely computerized!!! There were lots of showcases with different glasses there as well - so choosing the right pair of glasses was not a problem! Dr. Burris was very kind and professional and asked me a lot of questions during the eye exam! The prescription glasses were ready in no time, now I can see perfectly well again! Thank you dr. Burris and great personnell!!!

Here! Ovation Eye Institute! Here you have found an excellent Ophthalmologist! Dr. Burris is knowledgeable, professional, attentive and kind. You will receive a thorough exam. After meeting with Dr. Burris, I have decided to make him and his practice my "eye doctor home" for years to come. FYI. The location is convenient to the Washington DC Navy Yard (Marine Barracks) in South East DC. There is ample street parking. The support staff is professional and courteous. Finally, there is a well-stocked (good selection) eyeglasses frame shop on the premises. You cannot go wrong at Ovation Eye Institute (Dr. Burris).

Dr. Burris removed a cyst right on the corner of my eye lid. He did an excellent job, recovery was quick and painless, and you can't even tell the cyst was there or removed. Scheduling was quick and easy. The offices are sleek, clean, and modern. I would highly recommend. He did a FANTASTIC job. I will be back.

Dr Burris is the most professional Ophthalmologist I’ve ever visited. He was easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. His practice has a lot of new technology, nice frames and the ambiance is very hip/modern. The location is pretty great too- lots of street parking right in navy yard. He also offers a bunch of surprising services like Botox and fillers - which is cool because I’ve never seen that at an eye doctor before - I’m definitely getting Botox during my next visit.
