Very friendly and helpful! The doctors, nurses, and staff are excellent. They help you find the right glasses or contacts that work for you. (I wear both). The exam is quick, accurate, and painless. They budget and weigh the cost of the product with what your insurance covers. As an accident prone person, their warranty on their glasses is also a life saver. I recommend this place to anyone.

I was greeted and seated in a treating room within a few minutes of arrival. The vision care techician was very prompt and efficient. There was a short wait between the completion of her work and Dr. Johnson's arrival. Dr. Johnston , as he has done for the past 20 years, did his part of the exam with skill and then explained to me with clarity what was going on with my eyes and his thoughts on things for me to consider regarding my vision care. I will continue to keep coming back for my annual visits with this docter.

They take the time to listen and understand what your vision problem is and work on the best course of action to solve the problem. Physician's Optical is a great place to get glasses. Ben, the manager is very knowledgeable, carries a great selection of frames, and works to find not only the best vision, but also the best glasses to fit your personality and looks.

Excellent service for all my family for more than 22 years now. ….. A super great place where they treat you like family! ….. (But go anyway! 😆) In all seriousness, I read through the reviews and saw a tiny bit of negative ones. I’ve gone in this office as well with an overdue payment. That was my fault, not theirs. In no way was I humiliated or refused service by anyone. I was simply just told in a most professional way that I had an unpaid balance and asked if I would be able to take care of it that day. I was grateful how I was treated; especially with my children standing beside me waiting for their exam. Whoever complained about insurance claims…just ask them to file it the way you want it filed. But don’t be angry if it costs you more. Truly, they’re not perfect by any means. But, it’s my belief that they, absolutely, in every way (the doctors and staff) strive put everyone’s best interest first. Small talk to “ “the wife” and “no room” in the itty bitty rooms where they examine your eyes. That made me chuckle. There’s barely enough room for two people in there. Seriously?! I was there again yesterday. While sitting and having my eyes checked, I thought, “I better not gain any weight! I won’t fit in here if I do!” 😆 To anyone reading this: choose your words wisely, take responsibility, be kind, be grateful, be joyful, be blessed, have mercy and be gracious to others. Like it or not, we’re all in this world together. It takes less energy to be nice to someone. Thank you Lord for this group of people who choose to serve others to the best of their ability.

I’ve been coming to Dr. Carter since I was 8 years old for just routine check ups. My whole family has been coming to both Dr. Carter and Dr. Johnston for about 13 years now and we have never once had a complaint about either optometrists nor felt the need to change who we go to for our eye care needs. This is the best place for us and we will continue to seek our eye care needs here for as long as we can. I highly recommend! The wait time has always been short, the scheduling is easy, the people working at the desk are friendly, the parking is valet, the doctors are always able to fully answer whatever question you have clearly, and it’s next to Starbucks. This place is family owned and you can always feel the welcoming family friendly environment whenever you come here.

I had some issues with a bill being sent to collections after it had been paid, but they did call me back and are working on getting everything corrected. Dr Johnston is very good at what he does and is very knowledgeable. The techs are wonderful as well. The manager in the billing department called and spoke to me directly about the issues with the billing and I overall feel very happy about this office. I will continue to be a patient with them.

I have never seen Dr Jay as a patient because I'm usually seeing his son, Dr Carter Johnston, who is the ophthalmologist in the office. He checks my vision every 3-6 months since I had cataract/glaucoma surgery. Carter is very thorough and does a good job of explaining anything I have questions about. I can't review the Carter's and not include Ben Blasi on the other side of the office in Physican's Optical, where my family gets their glasses. Ben is a very friendly and helpful optometrist who is very knowledgeable and does his best to make sure you get the frames and lenses you want, and makes sure they fit right. If you have any problems after you get your glasses, just go back and he can fix whatever problem you're having. I'm picky about how my glasses fit, so I'm probably a bit of a pest. He's also very good at checking your insurance and letting you know exactly how much your portion will be before you get them. My one stop shop for everything related to my eyes.

They are on the Mercy website, and they (someone,who answered my orginal call) told me that they are a Mercy providers however, they are not. The Dr will work with Mercy but not a Mercy Dr which is a difference depending on insurance and payment. My original review was emotionally charged,because of that, I 'thought' I had deleted it. I decided to rewrite my review. That day,I was struggling to see, which is my job, I work at a computer for 10 plus hours a day. I was only able to pay a certain amount of my past due balance (within 30 days past due, mind you) which was 20.00 less than what they requested. Even though, I had just paid off an original balance of 167.00, the week before!!!! . So, instead of letting me know before I got to my appointmemt. ..they requested payment when i arrived, and again I told them I could only pay the agreed amount. Which was 20.00 less than what they were now expecting.. The lady is 'charge' pulled me into one of the rooms and asked me if 'I wanted to be treated or not' if I did not pay the full amount then they would deny me services..... I paid it.I had already left work. So, I felt I had no choice. Why didnt they call me before and allow me to reschule???? 20.00 may not be a great deal of money to many... For me and my family, due to unforseen circumstances, I needed it carry me to my next payday,which was only two days away. Dr Johnson is amazing, since the original review, he did my cataract surgery, is very kind and helpful. I feel sad that a review would hinder him - however, my review is honest. I rated him a 4 strictly based on him alone. The ladies at the front also seem pleasant. It was his staff, that was going to deny me services *for 20.00* It was humiliating. I was not treated with respect. I believe as consumers we have a voice. The older women who was in 'charge', didn't care to hear my voice that day. Perhaps, now she will.
