The staff here is great; Tracy, Eunice, and Sabrina were all great. They answered all my questions and helped with the anxiety of getting LASIK. Dr. Tran is also great and answers all the questions you may have. It’s a huge procedure for people and the staff knows how to handle it perfectly. Dr. Joseph was my surgeon and was great the procedure itself no more than 15 minutes. My prescription was -7.5 and -8.0 and I can see the day after the same if I was wearing glasses/contacts. Have them help you!

After hearing results from family and co-workers I decided to schedule my consult. My co-workers had their procedures done elsewhere (a different facility and state) I was cautioned that they didn't experience anything personal and felt like just another set of eyes. Today I had my procedure and my experience was the exact opposite, all the staff remembered me and the surgeon was impeccable with wonderful bedside manners. We had passed each other in the hall while I was getting prepped and he made a comment when we got in for the procedure that he saw me earlier and noticed I had watched another patients procedure. Afterwards he spent a few minutes not just counseling me on what to expect but also reviewed my care with my husband. I had a wonderful experience and feel confident in the care I received. If you are nervous like I was about getting the LASIK procedure, don’t be. Firstly, LVI has an immaculate staff, very kind and professional. Secondly, everything is handled in a concise and timely manner which was great for my work schedule. Lastly, I tried my hardest to squirm and fidget and mess up the procedure, but the staff helped me through it all and it was a total success. Best experience ever! Believe the reviews! I’ve been in glasses since i was 6, now 22. I Went in for free consultation on a Monday (feb20) was scheduled to get my procedure done that Thursday (feb23). They all did a great job from explaining everything in great detail to prepping me for the procedure which was absolutely PAINLESS!! And it only lasted 5 minutes. I was nervous for nothing. One week later , i have no redness, no dryness (everyones eyes are different) and no irritation at all! Did I mention i can SEE !!! It was amazing! Thank you all

I had the best experience at the Lasik Vision Institute last Friday, March 17, 2023 my doctor was Dr. January he is the best. He walks you through the process and explains the procedure he then asks if you have any questions. Dr. January and his team makes you feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. I'm so glad I came to this place to have my eyes done the staff is the absolute best staff ever. You have Tracy running the front desk like a rock star, then you got Sabrina prepping you for the surgery telling you everything is going to be alright, then you have Dr. Tran the cool man he makes you smile, especially when he says you are a good candidate he is wonderful. Then, I had my girl Eunice who did my tests before I saw Dr. Tran she was on it moving and grooving, so super cool. Every person that works there is so professional and knowledgeable about the procedure it was amazing. I give this team and Dr. January 1000% on top of their game. Baby, Dr. Bruce January is the best in the business you better go let him correct your vision. You will walk out of that office saying "I see you". I am referring anyone who wants to have lasik visit this place and you will definitely have a great experience. When you leave and can SEE that's tells a whole story. I'm still amazed about my experience. The surgery is quick doesn't last long at all. There is no long wait in the waiting room, I tell you that staff works like soldiers in the army. The best Lasik experience you can have in houston! Me and my husband both had lasik here. We searched for a while to find the best options, best price and best doctors. Thank god we found it in here. The procedure is painless, aftercare is easy and the front desk people are so lovely 🤗 they offered us cute tees also. I had the procedure on Friday and I was good after a nap. Great work by these guys. I have been wearing glasses since I was about eight years old and now all of a sudden I can see everything with no glasses. The procedure is fast they let you know everything before it’s done and you can also bring one person in for comfort, I would do this procedure 10 times over if you haven’t. All I can say is DO IT and do it with The Lasik Vision Institute!!!!! From the moment I stepped in the door, the ladies in the front gave me a big welcome. Mrs. Tracy asked was I there for my FREE consultation and my Lasik procedure, I said no as I was so nervous about it all, I only wanted the consultation. Well that all went away as she eased my concerns and answered all of my questions. By the time I met Dr. Tran, it was down hill from there, he told me I was a great candidate and that if I wanted, I could go ahead a get it done today but most of all when I was ready. I mean he really made my time fun and energetic, I felt so comfortable! I said what the heck let’s do it. They gave me some eye drops and a sedative and placed me in a massaging chair. Tracy, dr. Tran, and the whole team make you feel welcome right when you step through the door. I was a -8.25 stepping in and went to 20/20 the next day. This investment is so worth it when you have to buy contacts and glasses.. it pays for itself! The procedure itself takes 10ish minutes, is a little uncomfortable but totally easy and worth it. Hey! This is my lasik vision institute experience I went in for a consultation just to get an idea if lasik was for me, I was greeted by very friendly staff. They evaluated my eyes and said I was a great candidate for the procedure. I was so excited.. but of course I had a million questions.. I was so nervous! If something were to go wrong then what?! So they answered all my questions about the chance for the procedure to go wrong, they reassured me it is almost 100% success rate and the side effects are almost non existent! With that being said I was really pumped to get it done. They went over all of the payment plans and they were very reasonable, plus I did receive $1,000 off because of the promotion. Once everything was explained to me, I was confident in this procedure! So I agreed to get it done. Boom 2 days later I had my lasik done. The procedure it’s self was not bad at all. For a few hours after it felt as if I had sand in my eyes and they felt irritated. But I took a 4 hour nap and woke up with perfect vision!! The next day I went to post operation check up, and my vision is 20/15 the very next day. All in all, a Great experience! Thank you to the Doctors and staff!

I waited 2 years to get lasik done because I was a little scared, but I'm so glad I came here! I had my appointment on a Thursday to see if I would be eligible for the surgery, and had the procedure done Friday of the following week, it was so quick! Everyone was super friendly. They explained everything beforehand, and the day of the procedure they explained what each machine would do, which took away the "scary" factor. The actual procedure was super quick, not even a minute. The healing took about 3 weeks, as they had mentioned. Make sure to follow their instructions with the eye drops, and will heal wonderfully. It was an amazing experience overall, and now I have amazing eyesight after living my whole life with severe astigmatism.

I came in for a LASIK evaluation and had it done on the same day! From rescheduling my appointment to having the eval and procedure everything went very smoothly. I could tell their staff has a ton of experience and are a pleasure to deal with, shout-out Tracy for making it a fun and welcoming experience! Dr. Tran was also very easy to talk to and was very knowledgeable. He confirmed the vision tests done by MA's and examined my eyes again before giving the OK to proceed with LASIK. I was then reexamined by one of the coolest docs, Dr. January who walked me through the process verbally before taking me to the OR. In a matter of minutes I had LASIK done to both eyes and then my eyes were rechecked by Dr. January post op. I was already handed my eye drop prescriptions so I started using those right away which helped soothe the slight burning I felt post op. After going back home, I took a 3 hr nap and could already tell the improvement of my vision! In my 48 hr post op follow up Dr. Tran checked my eyes and reassured me that everything looked good and reiterated the importance of using the artificial tears at least every hour for the first 3 weeks. I definitely recommend LVI for anyone looking to get rid of their glasses/contacts and have optimal vision.

Best choice I ever made! I was a little skeptical on even considering lasik surgery and knew that it would be hard for me to decide on a location I thought would best suit me. Well, after hearing an ad on the radio, I decided to call and schedule a consultation. I was able to schedule for the following week and when I went in for my consult, which didn’t take long, I requested to have lasik that same day due to me leaving the country the following week and let me tell ya, I got lucky! Nice people. Doctor Tran and the staff treated me greatly and I was able to come back a few hours later for the surgery. Everything went well and am so glad I chose this place. Highly recommend!!!!!

If you want the short version... My sister and cousin referred me here, and I had an amazing experience! Now for the longer review! From the moment I stepped in the door, Ms. Patti's made me feel so relaxed, and I was very nervous. If I tell you I laughed, and had a good time through my whole appointment. It made it that much easier. I finished up with a very charismatic young female doctor, who I had great laughs with as well. Now on my day of surgery a week later, I was great all the way up until I was placed at the machine. I had a complete panic attack, and begged to be taken out of the machine immediately. I was so embarrassed, and then just tried to tell Dr. Joseph to just go ahead anyway. He could tell how scared I was, mostly because I was in a full sweat, and refused to let me rush myself. That very kind man along with the people in the room, slowed things down, got me some cold water, and assured me I wasn't being dramatic. They then talked me through the entire process, as we did it slowly. I woke up that evening after a long nap, with great vision, as I found myself reaching for my unneeded glasses. I am so grateful for this team. Thanks Dr. Tran, for cracking a joke to ease me again at my follow up. I had my surgery yesterday (3/2/22) and I have no regrets. I was so nervous and almost backed out multiple times. The office manager, Patty, is so incredibly sweet and caring. I felt sick to my stomach when I walked in for surgery and she hugged me. Dr. Joseph was very calm, explained the process, and was very patient with me when I had trouble focusing my left eye on the lights under the machine. The calmness of Patty and Dr Joseph made the entire process SO easy. The hardest part of it wasn’t even the surgery itself, but the nerves I had. I worked myself up for nothing. After my 4 hour nap, my vision was better than it was with my glasses! I will forever be grateful for LVI, Patty, Dr. Joseph, and the entire staff!!! If you are on the fence about getting LASIK, just do it! It’s worth every penny.

Staff very friendly and helpful. They were honest and up front about all the risks and challenges that could be faced. However, they went out of there way to excel and exceed the possible expectations that is Lasik. I left today after my fourth follow up because I needed to make sure I was completely ready to go back to a physically demanding job and each week I saw a improvement in my vision. I am so thankful for the procedure and the staff there. Hey let’s face it when you are talking about sight and the only two eyes you’ll ever get of course you want to feel safe and that you matter and that they are going to take care of you as if it were their own eyes… well, I can truly say that’s the level of service I felt there from Dr. January, Dr. Tran, and the entire staff whom I knew by name before I left. For me being one of the last appointments of the day arriving at 5:00pm, I must say I'm very impressed. All the employees despite a full shift seemed to still have positive energy and give me excellent customer service. Karen in particular was highly informative and relaxing during the consultation process. My procedure is PRK and I'll be able to have the procedure done within a week. Thinking positive and hope for excellent results. Follow up after about a year on PRK. For my case my eyesight was bad both near and far sighted. After the procedure I was home with shades for about 6 to 7 days. Honestly didn't need meds very often for pain ,but different experience for sure. Overall my eyesight I must say is way better than ever before. In the morning and afternoon I can see clear as day no issues. The problem for me personally is at night. Can barely make out what is infront of me with occasional Starburst from headlights on cars. Like I can still do night driving ,but honestly rather not if it's an area I don't know and if area has little lighting. Not sure if this is the case for everyone ,but for me daytime best experience ever. Night time carry a flash light. Tried to follow up on issue after about 8 months after procedure ,but facility referes you to eye doctor after awhile. Doctor pushed me for glasses at night. If this is a common accurance with shading at night looking near the same. Really make sure this is what you want to do. I feel like I should of asked more questions. Overall grade 7.5 out 10 as I need to do night driving at times with my job and it's very difficult at times. High beams and very calculated driving to make it home safe.

These people are AMAZING!!! My husband is 63, had cataract surgery and a year later decided he did not want to wear reading glasses anymore. After the surgery he did not do well at all. We were so worried that we paid all this money for nothing. This is where the amazing came in....On his follow up he told them he could not see any better and in fact was worse. They gave him some medication and tried different things for a few weeks. The Dr. was calling him every few days to follow up. When that did not work, They decided to wean him in, as I would call it. They started with contacts and slowly worked him down to where he did not have to wear them. My husband was having a very difficult time adjusting to his new eyesight and the Dr's were so patient on getting him where he needed to be, without doing further surgery. They were always there, called when they said they would and just worked wonders! He loves his new eyes! We are so very happy and can not recommend this place enough.

I went in for consultation and same day surgery on Wednesday and the main reason why I opted for the same day surgery is because i felt comfortable about the surgeon (Dr. Joseph) based on his years of experience and his knowledge. Every one was very friendly and answered all the 200 questions I asked; special shoutout to Dr. Tran and Patty... and really the whole team because they made me feel like I was in the place to be and will be. I’ve been thinking of getting LASIK for years, and finally I decided to follow through. I was tired of glasses, and contacts. The staff very friendly and helpful. They were honest, and up front about all the risks and challenges that could be faced. However, they went out of there way to excel and exceed the possible expectations. I did not qualify for LASIK but instead did for PRK. The process of recovery for PRK is a bit longer but still as effective. One week out from surgery and my vision is already clear. Life got a whole lot easier with better vision.. LOL I am so thankful for the procedure and the staff there. Hey let’s face it when you are talking about sight and the only two eyes you’ll ever get of course you want to feel safe. They took care of me as if it were their own eyes. I had delayed this procedure over 15 years not realizing how much I've missed. If you stick to the after-procedure process, you will have no discomfort, meaning, the only times I have any discomfort is when I forget to manage my own recovery process. My healing process has surpassed every expectation and my sight tests from perfect, to better than perfect (20/15, but not a guarantee you will see same results!). From the moment that I walked for my initial consultation, everyone was as nice and polite as possible. I was already reserved to the fact that I needed both eyes done. One for distance and one for up close. Jasmine took the extra time to find what would be the best for me. Turns out that I only needed one eye done for distance and the other was left alone for up close. Fantastic doctors and staff. My surgery was scheduled for a Saturday evening and they called to tell me to come in an hour after my appointment was scheduled because they were running behind. Four hours of waiting in the waiting room before my surgery is my only complaint. It was a very long wait and no access to food. Vending machines would be nice. All appointments before and after surgery have been quick and easy. I highly recommend getting lasik if you qualify. Bedtime routine is faster and no more searching for glasses when I wake up. Worth every penny!

Overall very good experience since the beginning they explain how long the process to get through surgery will take. Chairs on the waiting room are not comfy and they should be because you spend there like 2 or 3 hours seating there. I didn't give five stars just because they made some mistakes when they take me to one room and then they told oh no your good you don't need to be here, your numbers where already checked out by the doctor, like they weren't reading my file before calling me. Attention, care and everything else was perfect.

Overall, really great experience - staff and doctors were professional and kind, facilities were clean and relaxing, however the wait time is ridiculous. My consult took 3 hours (was supposed to be 45 minutes), the day of procedure took 5 hours (was support to be 2 hours), and the follow up appointment took an hour and a half (supposed to be 30 minutes) - PLAN TO BE THERE AWHILE! Although not acceptable, still a great practice.

Great service and attention from the technician who did my preop testing, the optometrist Dr Tran, and the lady who assisted the procedure (I think she was a CRNA). Notice how I don’t know the names and positions of the above personnel because NO ONE INTRODUCED THEMSELVES BY NAME OR POSITION except Dr Tran. The Opthalmologist who performed the procedure did not even introduce himself to me nor did he explain the consent and disclosure. Not a good experience for someone who is entrusting their eyeballs to someone handling a blade and laser on their eyes! It was basically a factory-like vibe. I was also shocked that they used multi-vial eye drops which were left uncovered on a table. The same drops were used on the two other people in the same room as me. The vials were not even disinfected before and after each use! I give this place a 4-star rating because 1-day post-op I can finally see without contacts:)

The consultation was great. Jourdan (Technician) was excellent. He answered any questions I had, which made me feel at ease and confident about the kind of care I would be receiving. The doctor explained which procedure would be needed with my level of prescription. As well as the recovery time and any other questions I had. The office was clean and the staff offered us coffee and snacks. Update: 05/31/20 Before surgery: The technicians/nurses were very friendly throughout the whole process. Time went pretty quickly. The office and room was very clean and they disinfected everything. The doctor was honest with me and explained that they may not be able to make me see perfectly but I will definitely be able to see better. I knew perfectly well that my vision was messed up bad and any improvement would have been a blessing to me. She explained what kind of procedures there are and what happens in each. During surgery: The surgeon explained to me step by step what was going to happen and talked to me throughout the whole process which helped me stay calm. For example, he explained to me that my vision was going to go black for a few seconds which helped me not freak out when it actually did happen. I also liked that the nurse counted the seconds before a certain process was finished. In all, it felt like it took not even 10 minutes. After surgery: My prescription is very strong and I, after getting off the bed, started seeing better. Everything was foggy but I could tell what it was. Before, everything was so blurry that I couldn't tell what the object was. As time went by everything started to become sharper. Follow up appointment: The next day I returned. The surgeon looked over everything and said that with my level of prescription, it is amazing that I can see 20/15. Which is a little better then 20/20. Based off my experience, I give The Lasik Vision Institute a 6 out of 5. I would recommend them to anyone. My vision started going bad at the age of 7. Now, 23 years later, just the simple act of me wake up in the morning and seeing my husband's face perfectly is amazing and I thank everyone at the Lasik Institute for making it happen. Really, thank you.

I have to say this is the best place to get your Lasik done. Staffs are amazing, friendly, and professional. The doctor takes care of you well. The procedure itself did not take long. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and bring a sweater or a jacket since you will be sitting in a cold room for 30 min prep time before procedure. The doctor did an amazing job too. 100% recommend - I went in for my consultation last Friday, 7/19, the doctors deemed me to be a perfect candidate for Lasik, and was able to schedule my surgery for yesterday, 7/26. The process was fast, the staff is absolutely amazing, and the surgery took less than 15 minutes. Their technology is up to date, facilities are clean, and the doctors/nurses will answer all and any questions you may have. I woke up this morning and was able to see everything crystal clear (slight haze from the procedure but it's normal!). I went in for my follow up and I'm at 20/10 vision. So excited and happy with the results, I absolutely recommend the Lasik Vision Institute. FYI - The day of your procedure, you'll be there for at least 3-4 hours, dress warm and bring something to read.

After 3 months of stress from school and work, and practically dehydrating myself, my vision stayed 20/15 from 20/400. I had the best experience. I’m so happy with the results but keep in mind when you do go for your consultation you will be there for 2 to 3 hours but it is totally worth if you go forward with the surgery. Also day of you will be there anywhere from 3 to 5 hours but the procedure is quick and painless literally took 15 minutes max. Post op you will have to sit for 20 to 30 min but as soon as the tape comes off you will be able to see. The next day i was able to go work perfectly fine and see clear as day just make sure you follow the doctor instructions for the after care. I will definitely recommend the lasik institute to anyone that wants to be able to see. Thanks for making my dreams come true being able to wake up and see and not look for glasses is a blessing.

Most of the things people complain about not being told are spelled out in the complete packet handed to you during your consultation. It is up to YOU to read this material. And, why wouldn't you? First off let me say this is the day after I had my eye surgery and I am not using contacts or glasses to write this review and I drove myself here to the office this morning!!! Yayyy! I’ll start from the beginning so you will be able to make the same decision I did. I had my surgery at the Houston location located at 1800 Bering. When I first went and did all the consultations I spoke with Dennis, he is the best. He explained everything to me and he was really communicative and was very pleasant I believe he is the office manager! Dr. Tran and Dr. Budde are phenomenal!! They did my eye exams, they explained every procedure and how my vision would change if I chose to go forward with Lasik... FYI each individual may need something different Lasik, PRK, or for me I chose to get Contoura a tiny bit extra but it’s top of the line technology. Everyone in the office was nice, friendly, caring, and helpful. I felt like they were all genuine and it wasn’t about the money it was about the outcome for me! Now for the procedure the waiting room before you get the procedure the chairs are very uncomfortable but the recovery room have extremely comfortable chairs. Before the procedure began I was greeted by Dr. Joseph! He is the doctor who does the actual procedure. First let me say he is genuinely nice with a sense of humor. He has excellent bed side manors. He explained everything to me in detail before he done the procedure and during the procedure. I was more than a bit nervous but him and the staff made me feel comfortable and safe! The procedure it self takes less than 8 minutes and that’s including prep time. Thank you Terry, Marlene, and Vickie!!! You guys were all the best! The OR room is very cold but sterile as well! I’m glad I made this decision and I’m definitely glad I chose the Lasik Vision Institute!

I myself was reluctant to consult The LASIK Vision Institute due to their bad reviews but I decided to give them a try. I was expecting horrible customer service but they were actually above par. Everyone was really helpful from my consult to my post-op visit. It seems like their bad reviews were from a doctor they had years ago that no longer practices there. I just had lasik yesterday (9/19/2019) and there was severe flooding in the area. I was determined to have my surgery but I struggled to find a way into their office due to the flooding. The team waited for me for 1 1/2 hours so I would not miss my surgery!! At my post-op, my vision tested better than 20/20! This is the best affordable price lasik in town!!

I love that I can see for miles!!!! Although I was not aware that it messes up your near-sight. I had to redo my left eye about 3 times, but at least by the third time, it worked, thank goodness because I would NOT have done it again for a fourth time. The doctor made me feel comfortable. I liked the idea that they played loud music in the background while they performed the surgery. The surgery was super FAST! They accidentally handed me expired saline vials, but that was quickly taken care of. I love the fact that I can see at night WITHOUT glasses, contacts, and blurred vision!!!! Here are some of the core reasons to go here, based off my own experiences: - At every step of the way the staff was friendly and when applicable they were great at communicating their knowledge. - It's been well over a year and still on a weekly basis I stop to reflect on how outrageously better my vision is. Actually, I sincerely believe that The LASIK Vision Institute there in Houston made my vision better than it ever has been in my entire life. - I experienced no pain whatsoever throughout the entire process. - The surgery is far quicker than I thought. - The location I went to was easy to get in and out of. They have a free parking garage and the building they are in is easy to navigate. The one thing you might hear or read in reviews that is negative about this place is their waiting times. I have a lot to say about this that I feel one should consider. The first, The LASIK Vision Institute was always forthright on how long the appointments would take. That includes: the first exam to see if they could do the procedure, the surgery appointment, and the follow-ups. The second, what I found every single time when my wait times were over; then I was seen by staff and doctors was they were VERY THROUGH - and I'd like to add friendly. Which is really saying something for anything found in H-Town and the surrounding areas it pollutes. From my perspective I would rather wait (as I did and others did; and do) to receive this level of care and receive this level of results. The advice I would give anyone considering this procedure at this place is the following. Bring that book you bought in print you never got around to reading, make sure that supercomputer we call a phone is charged up, and have yourself a Coke and a smile - it'll be 100% worth it! On The Surgical Procedure I have yet to meet one person who didn't say some variation of the following statement in regards to this procedure, "it was far different than I what I expected." First off, I experienced no pain whatsoever. Though what was really bizarre in my experience was my brain kept doing one of the many functions it was designed to do. I kept thinking how painful the procedure should be but I was totally numb. So maybe this helps people who are considering this procedure who have what could be classified as eye anxiety. One of the biggest concerns for me was how I had (past tense) a hard time even putting in eye drops and I never entertained wearing contacts even a moment in my life. What's really odd to me after this experience is I can put in eye drops as if it was no big deal. Unsure if that is common, you'd have to ask the staff. The procedure is extremely quick though they do all sorts of stuff to numb the area etc. etc. etc. which takes about an hour where your eyes are covered up. That's a bit weird. Especially, because you are in a room with other people experiencing the same thing (some of which you've never seen). Probably don't need to guess what the conversation topic was, so in essence the time goes quickly and it's all chill. When the surgeon is ready for you, like when things get real it goes far more smoothly than I thought. Essentially, they put this suction cup thing over your eye to keep your eye lids open. I was EXTREMELY concerned about this part, which turned out to be no big deal at all. Now I want to preface the next part with the statement I've never been abducted by a UFO but when they turn the laser on and you are directed to look into it I could only assume it's a similar experience. Once again, I had no pain whatsoever. After this I chilled in a room for a little bit, then I was turned loose. When my eyes were uncovered it seemed like I was looking through wax. Still no pain whatsoever. I went straight to bed when I got home. Then I woke up and I could see just fine. From there my vision improved, improved, and then improved to what I'd consider rock star vision.

I am not the type of person to give reviews. Lasik vision institute desires my review. I was 19 when I went to Berkeley eye if I could get Lasik. They told me it's best to wait until my eyes stabilize and wait after having kids. 10years later, I went to Lasik vision for my consult with a negative vibe, thinking I still have to wait for my eyes to stabilize. After listening to the doctor and telling him my concerns he put at ease that I didn't have to wait any longer. I was happy and positive that after waiting for 10 years, I can finally get Lasik. I don't regret doing the procedure. I am beyond pleased with the results. All the staff is super friendly. After surgery, you can already see. Later that night, getting ready for, bed I was looking for my glasses to take out my contacts. Then it hit I didn't need them. The next morning I felt like I slept in my contacts. I am happy I went through it, I must say I was nervous, but the surgeon was awesome! He put me at ease and was telling me everything that's going to happen; I felt less worried.

So, my surgery was great. The reason i’m giving it 4 stars (honestly probably more like a 3 star if I wasn’t so biased bc of my amazing new vision) was the office management/scheduler. They make you show up 5 hours before you actually have surgery. They redo your scans (which takes about 20 minutes max) and then you see the eye doctor (which takes about 10 minutes) and the rest of the time YOU’RE JUST SITTING IN A WAITING ROOM!! For 4+ hours!!!!! My appointment was for 11:45 and I didn’t get brought into surgery until 5:00. There’s no reason why they should schedule patients with that much wait time. Wasn’t necessary but my surgery was great, the doctors explained everything well, and I can see!!!

I had a great experience getting evaluated and within a week I scheduled my surgery on my eyes. The process was painless and the actual procedure was very quick. I chose to do it at night, so the recovery for me was pretty straight-forward, as soon as I got home I went to sleep and woke up with amazing eyesight! No Pain whatsoever the day after. Initial consultation was very detailed and they give two options to choose, also went through the financial and payment options and a good discount was offered. The procedure was performed on schedule and without issues. Post procedure eye test was 20/20. I am extremely pleased, great job!!

HOWEVER, I took off one star for the horrible customer service I have experienced on the phone. The ladies that answer the phone are unprofessional, rude, and almost made me skip lasik entirely. I kept thinking to myself: if the customer service on the phone is this way, how could I get surgery here? I love this institute but hopefully there will be a new phone staff who are actually helpful & kind individuals. I hate calling because every single time I get off the phone feeling awful. I want to start by saying they did a Very Good Job! On my lasik surgery, waiting time is longer yes however it was worth it, i didn't even last 10 minutes inside the surgery room. They were very hospitable and accomodating. Dr. Joseph was so calm during the process and he knows what he is doing very well. Great experience! Mr. Dennis was very accommodating throughout my ordeal with the Groupon not working and offered to have me pay the Groupon price in the office, which was so nice of him! The initial free consultation went smoothly and the optometrist was very knowledgeable and thorough during my eye exam, making me very comfortable about them poking around my eyeballs. I had to reschedule my initial surgery date due to the Groupon ordeal and they were very accommodating about that as well. On the day of surgery, my appointment was at 10am and I was called in for the actual procedure at about 1pm, meaning the only cons of this whole experience were the wait times. The ophthalmologist, Dr. Joseph, was nice as well but you only get to meet him briefly during your actual procedure. They provide blankets in the operation room which was super helpful because it is freezing in there. The follow up appointment the next day is as quick as they tell you as long as you get there early enough. Make sure to get your prescriptions prior to the day of surgery. You don’t actually NEED it, they just want to make sure you have it, but you should show it to them to confirm the right prescriptions and have them tell you some important stuff about the meds. One of the rx required a “prior authorization” from my insurance company so it made more sense to buy it without insurance rather than waiting 1+ weeks for authorization. (I called LVI asking about this and they helped me through that process as well) My surgery was yesterday and I’m seeing 20/20 today! I’m very happy with the results but they do mention it is very important to keep up with your eye drops!! Lastly, they scheduled another complimentary follow up a week from today. I gotta say that’s pretty thorough, my dad didn’t even get this many checkups after having his lens replaced. side note: If you have questions about parts of the process, ask!! There was plenty of stuff i was confused about but all my questions were answered as soon as i asked. They don’t know what YOU don’t know so they can’t help you if you don’t ask. All in all, very happy with my new sight.

I normally do not leave review, but I have to for Lasik Vision Institute with overall score of 4/5 stars. I was skeptical about Lasik but after one of my co-worker got Lasik done at this place, I was more confident on getting Lasik. The staffs were very friendly, knowledgeable and patience to answer all my questions. Especially, when I first go in for eye consultation, the technician was very patience on repeating the saying like “blink” several times before he get a good picture/measurements from the machine. I was in the rush that day, so they worked with me to get me out on my schedule while making sure that the comprehensive eye exam/measurements done correctly to determine if I can do Lasik or not. Most of all, they really work with you to provide the best service that you’ll believe you made a right choice at selecting the Lasik Vision Institute. I did not do the steps in the order as my coworker so my initial total cost was higher than her while we got the same lasik recommendations. However, they went out of their way to help me get same quote as my coworker, which save me around $200. Lasik is expensive already and if they can save me few bucks, I was very impressed. Regarding Lasik procedure, it went better than I thought. They prepped you up before you go in for Lasik and thoughtful explains the procedure to you before it happened so you do not have to worry/scare. They also make sure that you get all the Post-op things done correctly to ensure that your recovery will go well. Overall, Lasik Vision Institute’s is the right place to go if you demand excellent quality in both patient care and technology wise.

I went to 3 other Lasik offices to see what they offered but LVI was the most thorough, did the most tests, and on top offered the Lifetime warranty so I immediately decided to have my surgery with LVI. I had my laser surgery yesterday. I can read messages on my phone and work on my PC without glasses. The procedure was straight forward. The people at Lasik Vision Institute were very professional. I have gotten my LASIK twice from LVI. My initial procedure regressed over the period of 6-7 years and I opted to get the enhancement and use my warranty. I had gotten annual eye exams with dilation every year to maintain my warranty. I was very apprehensive about how the enhancement would go. I read some extremely unfavorable reviews and was worrried. However, the staff was very professional. Dr.Tran explained the options to me. Dr. Joseph would try to lift my corneal flap, and if he wasn’t successful at it he would do PRK. I was quite nervous about it, but I am so glad I went ahead with the procedure. Dr. Joseph was able to lift both flaps and do a LASIK enhancement for both eyes. It is a rare thing, but I hear Dr. Joseph is excellent at it and tries his best. All the technicians were super friendly during most of my visits. The managers are also very personable and friendly. I have had a great experience ( twice) and I would recommend this place to anyone.

I had lasik here about six months ago and I love waking up in the morning and getting the day started without eye glasses or contacts. I have no idea if there is any correlation with lasik surgery or not having to use contact lenses any more, but I wake up and have been experiencing significantly less eye boogers (tmi, sorry!). Aside from waiting for the surgery, the turn around time of the surgery was really quick and the healing process was quite fast too. I was back to my normal schedule of school and work within the same week. Fast forward to today, I am getting my check up done and the entire staff has been very nice and helpful. I have slight astigmatism in one of my eyes and Dr. Tran was genuine in making sure my vision and eye are healing and improving well so that I have no problems in the future.

Having Lasik done has been lifechanging in every facet of my life. Expect to carve out a lot of time of your schedule for the many office visits; the initial consultation, then the pre-op appointment, then the actual surgery appointment, and then the many follow-up visits afterwards. The appointments itself are short, and they're necessary just to check in and see how you're doing. To comment on the surgery - I had to wait about an hour because there were a few ahead of me. If you get lucky and you're first in line, you might not have to wait at all. The procedure was maybe about 12-15 minutes. Your eyes are numb of course, but I'd have to say there's a brief period where I was uncomfortable and a little tense; Kind of like sitting in the chair at the dentist. The doctor talks you through the entire process so you know what's going on, so that calmed my nerves throughout. It's been a week since my surgery and I have 20/15 vision in my left eye, and 20/20 in my right. To sum it up, I'm pretty happy with getting this done.

June 2019: Had the procedure performed 3 days ago and had an excellent experience. The staff and doctors make you feel right at home, very kind and knowledgeable group of people. Regarding some of the negative reviews (complaints) about the wait time on the day of procedure: I have to defend LASIK Institute here. Yes, it’s a long day at the office, but it’s to be expected. The Pre-Operative Instructions I received (which I assume everyone receives) specifically states, ‘allow 3-5 hours in our center the day of procedure’. So leaving a negative review based on a long waiting period isn’t exactly fair.. Thanks again Dr. Joseph, Budde, and other awesome staff (Dennis is my favorite 😉) hahaha. Y’all are all great and did a wonderful job! EDIT 1/21/20 - One thing LVI can improve upon is following-up/confirming appointments. They NEVER call/text/email to remind you of follow-up appts (which is usually scheduled a couple months out) The girls at the desk always ask 'would you like an appt. reminder?' and you expect to receive a call/text of some sort... right?? NOPE! They write it on a card and send you on your way. This isn't an issue with the girls at the desk, it's a procedural issue, which comes from management. The vision correction warranty hinges on actually going to ALL of the follow-up appts. (which is alot) and if they're missed, that Life-time warranty you just paid for is void! Is this done intentionally??? hmmm... interesting that they blow your phone up trying to lock in a 'sale' but can't call for follow-up appts.

I had Lasik surgery on 02/24/2016. My experience at The Lasik Vision Institute was great. The staff was very helpful and patient with me. If you plan on getting Lasik with this location my advice to you is to be prepared to ask them questions and take notes. However, the staff provides the patients with a green folder full of information to go over. So far this is my second day after surgery and I feel no pain at all and have 20/20 vision. One thing I have noticed of previous reviews is that the wait time is minimum 3-4 hours. Personally speaking, the waiting time is irrelevant the key here is to be patient. This center is very very busy just be patient and they will get to you. My recommendation to people who have a restriction on their drivers license is to take care of it as soon as possible because after you have the surgery you will see clearly.

Gettng there, the receptionist and personnel are very nice and friendly. the initial exam is thorough and the optometrist is careful to give you all you need to know. if you can take the groupon deal. but if not it's still a great deal about $1k off from Mann Eye.Dr butte is a fantastic optometrist and great calming presence. mann eye is a little more polished and you can video the procedure. they offer some meds like xanex to relax you, the rooms are bigger and nicer. i was fine with the deep discount at lasik vision institute and no frills but some may want more. compared to mann eye, again, Mann eye is more polished,less of a wait and clearly more expensive. The actual procedure took from walkin to leave out the door- 6 hours. the laser was about 5 minutes of that. lots of waiting and then tests and then waiting and more tests. obviously better to be safe than sorry. its a bit intense for a 2 minutes but the drs were professional, and in the end my vision is fantastic. you will need someone to take you home. you cant see, your not gonna be tired or anything but you cant drive home on your own. if you have a spouse great, otherwise have someone pick you up bc they will get cabin fever waiting on you and they can come in the room with you but they don't allow video so other than watching it vaguely that's all they are going to get out of it. i do recommend them. im not talking badly about them just giving an honest portrayal of my experience

Despite negative reviews at some LVIs, that Is surely not the case at LVI Houston. I went to a couple lasik clinics for consulting since I wanted to figure out what would be the best route for ME. I can say that I did get to pick my own time and date at LVI so that was a plus for me unlike other places where they told me what slots they had available so I had to work my schedule around theirs. The testing goes fairly quick and the technicians actually take the time to talk to you here so I did not feel like I was rushed through. I know everyone's vision is different so pricing will differ. Even though LVI was not the cheapest they also weren't the priciest but they did offer a much better package and warranty than the others which is ultimately the reason why I chose LVI (seriously my eyes were the last thing that I want to cheap out on).Lastly, all the staff members that I had the opportunity to communicate with were amazing. From the front desk receptionist to the surgeon, it honestly felt like I wasn't just another number. I would honestly recommend LVI Houston to anyone who is on the fence or considering lasik surgery.

I can see clearly now without my eyeglasses. Still get blurry sometimes but that is normal after the surgery. Staffs are very professional in this procedure. Only thing need to improve is their waiting time. I came 2:45 and had preop 6:15pm and 7pm was my lasik sx, then had to wait for post op and went out the clinic at 8 pm. That is 6hrs and 45 mins. From 2:45 to 6:15 is just a waste of time. This place is crowded as they are really known for their lasik but appointment times really needs to improve. Price is very reasonable. Updated: Followup appointment took two hours- 1hr and 30 mins of waiting. They really need to fix their scheduling system. Headaches and occasional blurriness after 1 week post-op.

Dr. Joseph performed the LASIK procedure on me with the femtosecond laser. I was terribly nearsighted and wore a -8 in torric soft contact lenses. I was impressed with Dr. Joseph’s knowledge on eyes such as mine and his confidence to run the procedure. I was originally supposed to have the PRK procedure performed, which would have been a longer healing process with increased side effects due to the strength of my eye prescription. With the counsel of my optometrist and Dr. Joseph, they both agreed that the femtosecond laser would be the best route to ensure I obtain the best results. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph as an eye surgeon if you’re considering LASIK. You are in safe hands. Dr. William Tran is a great optometrist that walked me through the whole process and answered all of my questions and concerns leading up to the procedure as well as in the follow up exams. Right after the procedure I was able to see very well. I would recommend to follow all of the eye drop medication instructions exactly to ensure optimal results and be generous with the use of the artificial tears. It has been a few months and I can still see 20/20 and am able to read a few letters on the 20/15 line. One of my eyes has a slight regression in vision, but I notice it gets clearer as I add drops. With both eyes I can’t even tell the regression since it’s subtle. Dry eye is something that you face but now being a few months out, it’s very minimal - again use the artificial tears generously within the first month or two to obtain optimal results. I highly recommend Dr. Joseph and the team. I am amazed at my results.
