My experience was wonderful. To me the Doctor was a blessing. The nurses also. Everyone was so super nice. I was told everything step by step. With having the cataract surgery I was nervous and scared, you can’t help it. They assured me that I had nothing to worry about that all my nerveless and being scared went away. They were the best. Now I don’t have to wear glasses. Yea! Thank you so much.

Had LASIK yesterday at Berkeley and it has been an amazing experience. From the initial exam to procedure day everyone has been so kind and very informative. They never left me wondering what to expect and have answered any and all questions. The procedure itself was very quick. They were very up front about the uncomfortable aspect of it and I’m glad they were. I had my follow up this morning and I’m seeing 20/15! Healing has been great and I feel 100% just 24 hours later. Highly recommend Berkeley for lasik!

Having a detached retina and wearing progressive lenses I need a thorough not rushed eye exam. And that is exactly what I received. I am not the easiest patient, my eyelids don't like things coming at them, however, Ashley took the time to let my eye relax and helped with the procedure to get an accurate pressure reading. She was informative all the way--I learned a lot about my eyes that day. Dr. Kruger, also is very attentive. I saw him read prior notes. And did I mention that they are flexible making appointments and keeping to them!! Great place for eye care.

I had been driving a couple hours to the Houston Medical Center area Mann Eye Clinic but didn't care for their service or the people there so I gave Berkley in The Woodlands a try. I hate to change doctors, but this was one of the best medical decisions I've ever made. I'm completely comfortable with the thorough care and attention of Dr. McCauley and Dr. Kruger. I received LASIK in January from Berkeley Eye Center in The Woodlands. Not only were they able to take me from 20/400 to 20/15, but they also were extremely helpful in additional needs afterwards. I have had zero complications or lingering affects but due to my occupation, I had extensive paperwork that needed to be filled out regarding the procedure. The team at Berkeley assisted me along the way and promptly helped me with any requests I sent their way. Dr. McCauley, Dr. Kruger, and their teams are phenomenal at what they do and I would recommend that anyone interested in CRS (corneal refractive surgery) reach out to Berkeley Eye Center.

I had my lasik this past Friday. It has been the most wonderful experience from start to finish. The consultation with Cindy was amazing. The scheduling was helpful and prompt. They explained everything I needed to before surgery day. Surgery day, I was so nervous. They helped me stay calm and was so kind. It really helped ease my nerves. I have never been to Berkeley prior to my procedure but I saw they were rated high for LASIK procedures so I wanted to go to the best and I got an amazing experience. It has now been 3 days and I’m at 20/20 vision and just continuing to get better and recovering really well. I highly recommend Berkeley!

My wife is handicapped and requires use of an electric scooter. The first thing we noticed as we approached the new building in The Woodlands was there was NO handicap access. Yes there are handicap parking spaces but no way for my wife to open doors. I was present and opened doors as needed. Automatic door openers should be a necessity for all doctors offices and Berkley Eye Center should have this corrected.

10/10 Recommend Berkeley Eye Center! After more than 2 decades of struggling with contacts and glasses I finally decided to get LASIK and after a simple 7 minute procedure I have 20/20 vision. All of the staff was extremely knowledgeable and made me feel so comfortable going into the procedure.

For 3 years, since I got my last pair of glasses, everything was blurry. My ophthalmologist retested and the optician sent them back to be redone to no avail. When I was finally able to get a new pair, I felt very comfortable with Dr. McCauley and his staff. However, when my new glasses came in, it was the same blurriness. Ty, in the optical department, to the rescue! After paying close attention to every detail, she found that the focal point, on my new glasses and the old ones as well, was a tiny bit lower than I needed. A 3-year mystery solved! With the reordered glasses, I can leave them on all day. I never have to remove them to read! Thank you, Ty!! I also give kudos to Jason, who took my order and helped me pick out frames. He was very professional and helpful! I definitely recommend BEC-The Woodlands!!

Sometimes any medical services can be a little scary and intimidating, but they have made me very comfortable with the process. Not only did they answer all my questions, but they made me feel relaxed and comfortable heading into the procedure (Dr. McCauley even prayed with me before my lasik procedure). It took 2 weeks to get my routine eye exam, lasik consult and then lasik surgery all at Berkley Eye Center- very fast and efficient team. Berkeley has been the only eye center I trust with my vision. I have Mso I have to have to have my vision checked regularly due to the disease. My mom had cataracts and they were able to do lens replacements in both eyes with no problems. The doctors here are wonderful. They have a great manner and know exactly what they are doing! S Tier lasik. Cindy was an amazing lasik consultant. Dr Weeks and Dr McCauley changed my life, they performed a miracle surgery on what I was told my whole life was an impossible level of astigmatism to overcome. They never doubted I was a candidate and now I have 20 / 20 vision without glasses for the first time in 34 years. The front desk person who couldn’t find out who to make the check out to and transferred me 4 times to voicemail must have been new, otherwise this would be a six star review.

Specifically de McCauley was very thoughtful and detailed. During the consultation There was a lot of testing and waiting (they tell you to expect to be at office fir 3 hours) so we thought by the time we met with the dr he would be rushed bc there were so many people waiting. Wow! I didn’t expect it is so easy and fast to get excellent vision! I spent couple months on research, I asked all of my friends and relatives who had LASIK for their feedback, read dozens of doctors’ backgrounds, compared equipment and eventually came to Berkeley Eye Center. The staff is pleasant and courteous. Berkeley carries the brand of lenses that I prefer -- Essilor. However, there are lots of other eye practitioners in The Woodlands who carry this brand as well. I think their overall selection of eyeglasses is somewhat limited as well. There are other eye practitioners that carry a much more varied selection of eyewear. I would definitely shop around.

They an excellent job with my first visit, explaining the process and the pricing, quickly and efficiently. The rest of the process was thorough and efficient they never wasted a minute of my time. The procedure was amazingly easy and even pleasant. Our arrival time was 9:45 and I was back at home, in bed taking a nap before 11:30, and we live 50 miles away! The follow up appointments were a breeze, and what is more important is that I now have 20/15 vision without my contacts. Highly recommend.

Had my lasik surgery performed here. I shopped around, and they were definitely on the more expensive side - but you really don’t want to go looking for a bargain when it comes to your eyes. Had my free assessment, pre-visit, and the surgery itself all in under a week. They made me feel comfortable and and were very reassuring through the whole process. I was a little nervous when my surgeon was someone I hadn’t met before, Dr. McCauley, but it was clear within five minutes I had no reason to worry and this guy knew what he was doing. Had cataract surgery on first eye July 1, 2019. I have been nearsighted for over 60 years so I opted to become farsighted with the cataract surgery. It is great to see people's faces now. The procedure, though called a surgery, was quick, easy, and great. No pain during or after the procedure. Doctor and staff at Berkeley as well at surgery center are great. They even give you a nice pre-warmed blanket when they get you ready. They were very gentle with the IV needle in the arm, explained everything and before you know it they were sending me home. Second eye will be done Monday, so looking forward to it and having vision without the cloud cover, not to mention very good distance vision without corrective lenses. God is good, feeling so blessed for his guidance and skill of this great doctor and staff.

The staff at Berkeley are wonderful! From the front desk to the doctors, they all made me feel welcomed and comfortable. The doctors I saw (Dr. Sun and Dr. Varnell) really listened to any concerns that I had and made sure that I understood the procedures and what to expect. They answered my questions truthfully, and did not give me a generic "It will be okay" answer. Cindy really made me feel at ease prior to the procedure, and the procedure was quick, with the doctor and nurses explaining what was going on while the procedure was done. The after care was great, and while I did experience some discomfort in one eye, Dr. Varnell explained what was going on, how to help it, and wanted to see me again in a couple of days later to make sure everything was going fine. With the treatment prescribed, it was completely better two days later! I never felt rushed, like I was just a number to push through. I could not be more happy with my decision to use Berkeley Eye Center for my procedure! I would recommend them to everyone! 3 year update: My vision is amazing! 15/20 in one eye and 20/20 in the other. My regular eye doctor (not with Berkley) said they did an amazing job, that the scaring was so minimal that he might not have noticed, except my vision went from "can't read the big E", to "reading really small letters"!

I had the Lasik performed due to on going problems with contacts and have never been a big fan of glasses. The staff made it easy for setting all appointments. Everyone there was very helpful. They even offer loaner glasses, i had to go 2 weeks without contacts to let my eyes heal up from wearing them for so long. Every thing went great for me no pain at all during the surgery or after. I'm even seeing better then i hoped for with 20/15. Other then that the only thing i could made things better for me would to have had more options on the days to have the surgery done. They only offer it on Fridays and only have early appointments. And then have to go back early the following day to check on everything. They should offer a Thursday surgery with Friday follow up. But to each there own. I would defiantly recommend them and to having the procedure done.

Everyone was great to work with, however, when I got to the Dr., she was less than available and never even smiled. When I went to get glasses, I learned that the Dr. had left because she was sick. That explained a lot, but I wish she would have mentioned it or rescheduled. Ty in the optician’s department was AWESOME, she helped both my daughter and I find great glasses in record time. The surgery was easy, quick, and painless. Even after surgery, I didn't experience any side affects or discomfort. I woke up after two hours and could see! The service at this office is truly excellent and Drs. McCauley, Miller, and Weeks were a pleasure to work with. The stand-out star for me was Cindy-- from the first minute of my initial consultation down to post-op, the level of compassion showed by Cindy truly was amazing. She took the time to thoroughly walk me through every step of the LASIK process and answered every question I had with patience and understanding. On the day of my surgery, I was nervous, but those nerves went away the moment I saw Cindy because I knew I was in good hands. I have talked about doing LASIK for years, but never had the money with kids at home. With all the lockdowns of 2020, we had not used any of our “flexible spending” funds. So, I called and set up a consultation. I was offered an appointment that day. After my initial visit, I had to take a step back and reassess: You get only one set of eyes, and I was getting anxious about surgery. I began to drag my feet in fear, but my husband encouraged me to move forward and get the surgery set up. The week before surgery I prayed God would send me some sign I was making a HUGE mistake! But, no lightening bolts came. The morning of surgery I was overly anxious, but noticed not only how calm and kind every staff member was, but that they were keenly aware of my fear. Each and every single Berkeley worker was assuring to me (including the one that took my temp and asked the CV-19 questions when I walked in the door). Just before I saw Dr. McCauley, I was handed a card and told the Doctor prays before surgery and if I am comfortable with it he would pray with me after explaining exactly what was going to take place in surgery. {I was also informed if I did NOT wish him to pray with me to set the card aside}. For me, personally, THIS WAS EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!! It was as if God was speaking to me through this doctor. Calm immediately washed over me, and I knew everything would be fine, and it was. When I went for the follow-up, I was already 20/15 in my worst eye.

Such a seamless and encouraging experience. I was called back promptly after arrival. The technician explained everything that she did and why the procedures were done. Dr. Miller answered all of my questions and listened to my concerns. I received contacts to try out and when I felt like my eyes were dry with these they provided another set. Amazing experience getting Lasik. I had pretty bad astigmatism which made computer work with contacts pretty miserable. I also love sports and contacts and glasses always seemed to get in the way. I went to a few different practices for consults and chose Berkeley Eye Center. The staff is super friendly and explains everything perfectly. Finally, a doctor's office that uses technology to make check-in for a new patient quick and easy. All the forms were already digitized and all I had to do was read the laminated copy and sign electronically. Amazing Lasik surgery experience with Dr. McCauley! I was so anxious that I delayed going for this surgery for over 10 years. The whole process with consultation, pre-op appointment and the surgery itself was super smooth and comforting. Dr. McCauley is the surgeon that gains your trust from the minute you meet him - I was instantly calm once he walked into the room and trusted him 100% with my vision. The whole team is very well coordinated and the whole surgery from the minute you walk into the room to the minute you walk out and go home is less than 15 minutes. Importantly there is zero pain both during and after the procedure. And you can instantly see better! The next day within less than 24 hours my vision is 20/25 and it will get better to a perfect 100%. I am so grateful and amazed by this experience!

I had lasik eye surgery 2 weeks ago and it has been the best decision so far. Dr. McCauley was so awesome during and after the surgery. He did a prayer for me before the surgery and checked me out the day after. Dr. Weeks was also awesome, she checked me before and after as well. I can now see 20/15 and feel great. There are many side effects that can happen which had me a little scared. I to the day haven't had any side effects which is great. It feels great to see without glasses or contacts and feels great not to spend money on contacts or glasses. I would definitely recommend lasik to anyone thinking about doing it. I will say you get what you pay for, meaning they aren't cheap,but they do have a nice facility which is also super clean. The Dr.s are great and I didn't go bargain hunting for my eyesight.

Amazing! The worst part about the surgery was the anticipation of having eye surgery. Everything about this operation was perfect. From the consultation with Cindy to the one on one time with Taffi to the surgery done by Dr McCauley. I can’t say enough about this experience. Dr. McCauley made this whole surgery a breeze with his countdowns while the procedure was going on and explaining what was happening during the operation which took about a minute and a half to complete. Went back the next day for a follow up and my eye sight was 20/15. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to do this procedure. Wish I would have done this years ago.
