I had a great experience at Berkeley Eye Center and I am super grateful to the amazing staff at the Pearland location. Dr. Thomas is fantastic and truly cares about her patients. She always takes the time to answers any questions that arise and thoroughly explains anything I may be unsure about. Also, the staff helped me find the perfect pair of glasses and ensured a smooth process for me when ordering my new prescription glasses. I highly recommend Berkeley Eye Center to everyone who is looking for quality eye care!!

A wonderful experience!!The lady that tested my eyes was great. Very patient and nice. Then the Dr. Was wonderful too. I wish I had been going here before. I recently had cataract surgery and would like to compliment Dr. Sun and all the staff at Pearland Berkeley Eye Center & Caplan Surgery Center. The whole process went very smoothly from the first appointment to the last. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. Mabel arranged everything and was so organized with my surgeries and appointments. The nurses/techs were wonderful at both appointments & surgeries and Dr. Sun & the other doctors took the time to explain my surgeries and answered every question I had pre & post-op. Dr. Sun did a great job and I highly recommend both her and the Berkley Eye Center for excellent eye care.

Christine did my eye exam and was super friendly. I usually dread this part with the whole blown puff of air in the eyeball but that doesn’t happen here! 🙌🏻 Front desk staff were nice and quick with checking me in. Office is new and super clean. I saw Dr. Kokel and she was very thorough with checking my eyes. I’m so happy that I came to Berkeley for my eye exam. See you next year!

My husband and I had back to back appointments. We cannot say enough about the staff and Dr,'s, from the front office staff checking us in to Hope, the Tech. that ran our eye test, what a sense of humor, to Victoria in the Optical dept., she was a delight and so patient, she really knows her stuff, to Karen in Optical that fixed my broken glasses so I have a pair to wear while waiting for my new ones to come in. This is a great place and we will be back. Keep up the good work.

I did have difficulty having a phone call answered, but I did get a call back. Once I got to the facility, everything was better than I expected ! Check in went smooth ! I was taken back and evaluated by Stephanie (SHE IS WONDERFUL), then I saw Dr Thomas and her assistant Marina, both gave me a pleasant, comprehensive and caring experience. I had to come back for further testing because my eyes are that messed up and they were even friendlier and patient than the first time !!! I highly recommend them !!!

Wish I could give more than 5 stars! My experience with Berkeley Eye Center was great. I called at 9:00 am this very morning and they made me an appointment right away at 10:00 am. The staff was friendly and the wait was very short 10 minutes. Dr. Thomas assistant Abbey was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, I first thought that Abbey was my doctor. My experience with Dr. Thomas was outstanding. She explained thoroughly, step by step the procedures she was performing. I was a little nervous at first but she assured me everything was fine. Dr. Thomas definitely has the experience and her expertise speaks volumes about her knowledge of the eyes. Thank you Dr. Thomas and Berkely Eye Center!

I was so happy with the time that their Doctors spent with me explaining my options and that I did not necessarily need to wear glasses at this time , but a small correction would be available if I chose . I was so delighted with the treatment that I experienced so I went in and decided to get Rx sunglasses. The technician, Posh took a lot of time with me and helped me to find just the right pair and fit. I can not wait for them to come in, I am so excited for my sunglasses to come in.

They are thorough. My complaint may be more with my insurance allowance ssnd frame makers. The allowance goes right to the minimum, but I always need the +. Bi- tri- focal and something to help with sunglasses because I squint even when overcast. And the lens' frame is always too small from the top or sides or bottom. Had a frame I was happy with a long time ago, but they don't make them that large anymore.

Was referred to the Pearland office by the Webster office, due to them being fully booked and me needing immediate medical attention. I was not expecting to be seen that day, because the other facility was booked and I feared the same for the Pearland facility. Thankfully, that proved to not be the case. I was given an appointment to be seen that day. I was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and friendly everyone that I encountered in the practice were. Dr. Thomas and her assistants were very thorough and carefully explained my eye condition and how it needed to be treated to cure the infection. Proud to say that the medication prescribed cleared the infection and all is well.

My husband and I visited The Berkeley Eye Center in Pearland for a cataract evaluation. Our previous experience at another Ophthalmologist office was completely horrible. We had the pleasure of being serviced by an amazing Ophthalmic Tech by the name of Char-mel. She was more the Excellent, her attention to detail and patient care was absolutely phenomenal. I actually did leave a review which was up for a day and then disappeared so let me try again: I went to Berkeley Eye Center in Pearland for a eye exam and new glasses. I am a new patient and chose Berkeley because my wife is a patient and it is close to where I live and work. I was very impressed with the whole process from being greeted, short wait, competent, friendly knowledgeable staff. Dr. Jeffrey Jeong was very thorough and informative and Victoria assisted me in choosing a great looking pair of glasses from a large selection. Was here today for prescription glass re checking since the technician who handled my case 2 weeks ago was not helpful at all. Thus, the glass became available after a week and after wearing it, it didn’t help my vision at all. I complaint and they listened. So today technician Stephanie attended on me and she listened and did a good job. Made me feel comfortable in my new prescription. Happy now for the services. I am writing to tell you that Victoria is an asset to your optical Dept. I have purchased about 10-11 sets of lenses. The lady at the old location has no business in a customer service job. I always felt like I was bothering her. I decided to go back when you moved to your new location. The first pair of glasses made and it took three weeks. Then they came wrong. I had to wait another two weeks. One more time and this was the charm. Victoria helped me with my glasses. She measures and measures to make sure it is right . Her customer service skills are impeccable. She always calls me by name. I appreciate that she does that. I was there today to get two more pairs of glasses. LOVE LOVE my new glasses. The student that checked my vision was super sweet and what can I say about Dr. Thomas, she’s fantastic. The young lady that checked me out was not courteous at all. She didn’t even acknowledge me. She was first on the phone which I completely understand but after she finished the conversation, she continued typing using her computer and again did not acknowledge me at all, only to tell me my fee. She was wearing a pink hoodie. Maybe someone needs to teach her some manners. But overall experience, was great.

Had a very good experience here. This location is on the third floor of the medical building. Mary, the technician was friendly and very engaging and Dr. Thomas was very thorough. Overall, it was probably the most detailed eye exam I’ve experienced but in a good way. Doc sent me off with copies of both contacts and glasses prescriptions, while Alyssa handled the contact order. Contacts were at my door within 4 days!

I then posted this review and then almost immediately received a phone call back letting me know that they had reversed the charge and then charged me correctly. If you have been thinking of trying contacts, this is the place to do it! I have been going to Berkeley in Pearland for many years and am very happy with my exams and glasses RX. This year I decided to try contact lenses. I have never worn them before in my life so I thought there is no way they could let me see close AND far away. Dr. Nikki Kokel made me feel very comfortable and gave me a trial of daily contacts to wear for 2 weeks and then come back for tweaking. I liked them so much that I asked if it would cost me a fortune to change to monthly wear contacts in lieu of daily. It was no problem and did not cost me any additional for the change and she got me the trial monthly contacts herself and watched me put them in and then checked to see if they fit comfortably. I did have some problems seeing close up so she did change my contact prescription. They are very detailed in every part of the process. I am so happy I made this decision! I'm also very happy with Dr Kokel's direction in the process of wearing contacts in lieu of glasses. Be sure to tell them about any problems you are having with the contacts so they can fix it.

I’m updating this review. Dr. Sun is absolutely incredible. I can’t begin to explain the level of professionalism. Highly satisfied. 01/22/2020. Horrible customer service. When we showed up for our 1230 appointment the lady said our appointment was at 10. I then showed her a card that they had given me with the exact time, after which she lied and said that she had called me to reschedule the appointment. There was no phone call. There is no sense of apology or remorse on her side. Name is Margaret. We now have to come back on Thursday. And I took an entire day off for this dysfunctional practice.

Every annual eye exam since 2018, I always get an excellent service of thorough eye exam from Berkeley Optometrists including Marsha Thomas, O.D. and perfect eye glasses prescriptions. My last visit in July 15, 2021, Victoria Monreal, Optician, gave beyond expectations of assisting me in getting the right prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses with perfect measurements. The eye part of the exam appointment was a thorough experience. I felt that Mary could have been a little more sensitive to what she places in a patient's history; designations of medicine for preventive measures of the likes of high blood pressure and diabetes are not necessarily indicative of having those maladies. More careful probing enabling a true picture might save patients from getting stereotyped, especially by insurance companies and even other doctors. But, Mary was very good in narrowing down vision correction requirements. Dr. Sun was wonderful. I balked a little at a prescription recommendation until she took the time to determine the drug "tier" category. Too many Dr's just prescribe the drug they are most familiar with or the first one that pops up on their list of drug options. Dr. Sun took the extra time at my request to prescribe a drug that would work and fit the least expensive "tier" category for my insurance plan. Doing so showed a sensitivity beyond mere talk that made this retiree very thankful. My biggest criticism has to do with the steep pricing of optical alternatives, for me, glasses. While the vision center representative was patient, her attitude was basically, "Well that's all we have, " and "the prices are as marked." Never mind that if I could read the prices, I probably would not have needed to look for glasses. So, unfortunately. the choices for even the least expensive frames put buying from Berkeley-affiliated vision correction services out of this senior citizen's capabilities.

I went to see Dr. Sun at the Berkeley Eye Center in Houston and had my follow-up visits and surgery at the Pearland location. Dr. Sun was very thorough as well as her employees when I went in to her office for what I thought was an eye allergy problem. Dr. Sun diagnosed me immediately with something totally different and had me put antibiotic medicine in my eye, stating if my condition did not get better I should have surgery. I was a bit apprehensive about having surgery so I hoped the eye medicine worked. The medicine ended up not working but Dr. Sun assured me she had done a lot of surgeries and mine was very minor. Dr. Sun and her employees took really great care of me and I never had to wait long for my original or follow-up appointments. I plan on recommending everyone I speak to, to Dr. Sun. She is truly amazing.

I had a consultation with Dr. Regina Sun and had a wonderful experience with all staff at the Berkeley Eye Center. I was on Ortho-K lens for 15+ years and decided to look into Lasik. It took me a few visits and about 2 months of completely being off Ortho-K before I could get the procedure. All the staff members were welcoming with bright smiles and all my questions were answered. Dr. Sun is very sweet and knowledgeable, and I immediately felt comfortable in her care. Although my consultation was in Pearland, the testing and surgery site is at 3100 Weslayan. There, I met Jaime, who assisted me with scheduling and reminders; she's great. Glenda, who is the counselor, assisted me with some initial tests and any questions I had regarding Lasik. She was very sweet and took her time to answer my numerous questions. Lori helped me with pre-op tests, along with Dr. Garza, who does the work-up. Truly, everyone was kind and caring, also very reassuring that the procedure is simple and quick. The preparation takes some time, but the actual procedure is about 5 minutes and I'm home free. My brother and I ended up getting Lasik done together with Dr. Sun and when my family asked, we both highly recommended Berkeley. It's awesome that I can see the clock on my wall from my bed and the world is clear now! Honestly, I usually don't like visiting the doctors, but I was very happy to go the Berkeley for my eye exams pre and post op. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would absolutely recommend anyone who is considering Lasik to get a consultation with Dr. Sun at Berkeley Eye Center. I have been going to Berkeley since 1984. It has been different names thru the past but names aren't important, the quality of service is. I started out having RK surgery by Dr. Berkeley. From there I had numerous procedures up to the last one which was artificial lens due to cataracts. I enjoyed my better vision after the RK, but was naive to some of the outcomes. So, even though all the procedures are still great I might advise againist it if your were just having the surgery to not wear glasses. My opinion is your vision needs to be pretty bady to have it and mine was legally blind if they couldn't have corrected it. I have lost vision in my left eye in the last year or two, but that was from chemotheraphy even though no one will admit it. All the Drs. and technicians have been super nice thru the years up to date. I whole heartedly recommend Berkeley Eye Center.

I was wondering why the tech does the eye exam. I was hoping that the Ophthalmologist would examine my eyes. I only saw the Ophthalmologist for just a couple of minutes at the end of the exam.
