First time - Great experience so far here at Berkeley. From entry to exit you receive awesome customer service!!! Very professional atmosphere, my doctor was amazing and very precise . The staff entirely that assist you was very knowledgeable, personable , and patient. 9/10 Definitely recommend, and the best part is that if you have any questions they are able to explain in detail for better understanding. Only reason I did not give a five star is due to inventory . It could possibly due to the amount of patients that visits, guess that’s why appointments are about a month to two months out. But the selection they had wasn’t bad. Staff was able to let me know that they would get more in and they would call me so I can come and select a pair of frames from the new inventory. Book your appointment here :) Don’t wait any longer !

Best place ever. Staff and doctors were amazing from start to finish on my PRK surgery. They went above and beyond explaining all the details of the process and even gave me loaner glasses. My vision fluctuated in the first few visits and was recommended to hold off another month. I followed doctors instructions and waited until told i was ready for surgery. Loved the whole process and everyone is so polite! Shout out to Diana for being extra nice and helpful!

Recently had cataract surgery performed by Dr McQueen of the Berkeley eye center in Kingwood. After years of going to the storefront eye centers. I am very impressed with Berkeley. Very professional everyone was very polite and knew what they were doing. Surgery went very well, second eye is scheduled. Highly recommend. We are giving up on the eye doc in a box.

EVERY employee, that is EVERY Person encountered at Berkeley Eye Center located at 22741 Professional Dr in Kingwood Texas greeted us with a genuine smile and a true sense of caring. Patience is a virtue practiced at Berkeley with kindness sprinkled on top! They made us feel welcomed and cared for. They did NOT mind answering our many questions. Dr. McQueen also had a model of an eye to explain what will happen before & after cataract surgery. If you need cataract surgery, this is the place for you!

First introduced to Berkeley eye center when my daughter was young to see a pediatric ophthalmologist. The Dr. was amazing and was excellent with my child. He accurately diagnosed my child's issue early enough that we were able to avoid future surgery. We were so happy with BEC that all our family goes there. Dr. McQueen has a calm demeanor, listens to your eye issues and provides answers. He is exceptional at cataract lens implant surgery amoung the procedure offerings. I must also compliment the staff, from Aaron the office manager, to office and technical staff. All have been very accommodating. If I have a problem it is always addressed professionally and usually in a reasonable amount of time.

My entire experience was nothing but exceptional. I went in for a 2nd opinion for Lasik and Diana was the best. She made me feel like a regular even though it was my first time. I then saw Dr. Palumbo and he was great as well made me feel at ease for my procedure even if there was a small bump in the road he explained my option in great detail. Nothing but 1st class from the front staff to the back staff. Definitely would recommend if you are considering Lasik or just for your standard eye care.

I didn’t know what I was missing until I went to Dr Berkeley! The staff were all polite and friendly. I will never go back to my old eye clinic again. Dr Berkeley is definitely the place to go!

I did not order my glasses that day, because I was alone & my eyes were dilated. I went to Berkeley/Atascocita the next day to do that. They were also just as kind. That was my pleasant experience with Berkeley.

Where to start, well let's start with my appointment. Was told when I went in there would be nothing till December. Explained the importance for me to have an appointment sooner & why. The front desk worked me in for the next day. Yea! The facility was very clean and inviting. The place gave off a very comfortable feeling. Staff made sure that they introduced themselves and treated me with respect and dignity. From the nurses and the doctor, all the same That goes a long way. The person that helped me pick out the glasses, fast and efficient, she nailed it on the first try. But she did not try to push me into her choice. Let me know that I had the whole selection of frames to choose from and she would be happy to show me each and every one. And this was not just lip service, very sincere. I would not hesitate to return for more glasses or other services I might require.

I've been a Berkeley customer for several years. I have much respect for my Dr. Barker. She is consistent and dependable with time for explanations. Her prescriptions are usually spot on however Ive had some inconsistent quality in lens at the Berkeley glass shop in the past and have had to go other places. This year I've used Berkeley eye glass shop and received one of the best pair of lens I've ever received. Idk if they changed suppliers or what but very pleased with my glasses this time in 2022. I need a second pair but because Berkeley glass shop lens are really pricey if you wear yours almost 24/7 like me and need all the extras like scratch resistant and transitions which they charge separately for each additive it is as much if not more than other places for frames and lens. I just got lens for my own frames. Almost 400 less the 200 insurance allowance means my lens was almost 600. This the minus one star as their prices don't allow good vision affordable to all. I just couldn't afford to get new frames too or a 2nd set of lens for my other old frames. This one pair will just have to last but gosh these lens are the best!

Follow up care is excellent. I took my bent glasses that a fat guy sat on (OK, I sat on). Juan straightened them perfectly in just minutes. My lens had a scratch that could not be buffed out but he checked the warranty and got replacements on the way. 10 days later they came in and again Juan got them switched out for me in minutes.

I returned to Berkeley after briefly dealing w/ The Robert Cizik eye clinic which was a mess, and that's putting it nicely. My mom is the patient and is suffering with significant eye issues. Berkeley is a cut above when it relates to care. Although the Doctor at Berkeley confirmed my mother will not see again out her left eye she delivered the news in a way that was not hurtful, and showed compassion. She gave us an action plan and actual reason medical explanation as why this occurred. If you have issue find a Berkeley!

I would definitely recommend Berkeley Eye center to friends and family. The service was great and my exam was very informative. My only negative concern would be upon leaving I wasn’t offered any shades after having my eye’s dilated for the exam. I used some sunshades I had in my truck but they wasn’t quite dark enough. I made it to work safely though thank goodness and waited for the dilation to where off in a dark office. I don’t think you should have to ask but definitely inquire about the ugly shades if your getting your eyes dilated. Other than that I would rate 4 to 5.

Don’t get your lasik surgery anywhere else! Every physician here: Dr. McQueen, Dr. Barker, & especially Dr. Palumbo, have all been amazing! They made you feel like you’re one of their family members. I can’t praise Diana enough for everything she did for me. She made sure if I was even a lasik candidate to start off with. She explained everything thoroughly & made sure my appointments coincided with my personal/work schedule! If you’ve been debating about getting lasik, don’t be worried or scared. Just save up the money & get it done here. The surgery itself took less than 10 minutes for me. The Ophthalmologist here, Dr. McQueen, guided me through the entire surgical process (his voice was beyond calming+soothing). I’ve been recommending all of my friends, family, & coworkers to do it! Safety for Covid was excellent! I felt safe walking in and it was well cleaned. Exam was excellent for my daughter she was nervous because it was our first time there but they made her feel very comfortable. The whole exam process was great along with everyone who was apart of the exam. Optical was very patient with us and I loved that the most. Here’s the reason I gave 4 stars. Front desk played around way to much along with the manager in the front desk. Only one person from front desk actually did her job and that was Jocelyn Vasquez. The professionalism I received from her during check out made me over see all the nonsense that was happening in the front. She did her job excellent. Very sweet to my daughter! Next time I want her to check us out. That’s how service is supposed to be done!

Such a great experience! Diana, the Lasik coordinator, was great at explaining the whole process and answering all my questions. The male technician that took my readings for my eyes before surgery was amazing with all his tricks up his sleeves. Dr. Palumbo, the optometrist, was a pleasure to work with, triple checking my prescription before surgery. My surgeon, Dr. McQueen, explained everything as it was happening, best of all he prayed for me before the surgery! Highly recommend this office!!

This was my husband’s initial visit to the Berkeley Eye Center in Kingwood. All of the staff was very nice. They all wore mask and made us feel comfortable and safe. My husband stated that Dr. McClean was very thorough and personable. The receptionist Kandice checked us out and was very polite and told us that she appreciated us. Dr. Palumbo and Dr. McQueen have to be by far the best in the business and are very knowledgeable specialist in their profession. I haven’t been this happy since wearing glasses for the first time as a child. For anyone that’s indecisive about getting LASIK here I would recommend it as it’s by far one of the best investments I’ve made for my life.

I had a difficult time with a chalazion on my eyelid. After 3 weeks of massage and prescribed ointment, it was still there. Thanks to the staff, I was able to see Dr. McQueen, and with a new ointment it looks like I will be able to avoid surgery! Such a relief! Staff works hard, making a great team.

We stood for a few seconds in the reception area and got to know each other and then I was taken back. The whole time I was with Melissa was laid back, friendly if not fun! I could tell that she cares for her patients by the way she speaks to them and makes them feel at home. I was blown away by her customer service! It was an honor to get to know Melissa! Update: We have been back since this last visit and no accounting / payment errors on Berkeley's part. Their service is great! Previous Posting: I left an appointment at this place after having an eye exam (and being a new patient) and paid a $10 charge for what my insurance required. After being paid in full these jokers didn't track my being paid and kept contacting me to pay the $10 that I already paid. This place was a pain in the butt for the dumb stuff on the back end that makes any good on the front end not work it. There's a ton of places that you can go that can do as good or better, just make sure they have a good accountant or someone that knows how to track payments or you could be hassled later with their lack of payment tracking.

Going to any physician has always given me an uneasy feeling starting with going in the front door. At Berkeley Eye Center it is quite different feeling due to the decor and total lack of being a Doctors office. The receptionist is friendly and very helpful. Comfortable furniture and good reading material. When taken to the pre-exam, the staff is very efficient, professional and does their job in a pleasant manner. Never waste time and is very efficient. When you go to the inner waiting room you can have a good cup of coffee and relax before seeing the Dr. I use Dr. McQueen who in my estimation is the best in the business. He is friendly, never makes me uneasy and tends to business. His exam is never intimidating or given an uneasy feeling. His explanations and suggestion are put in a manner that is understood and never wrong.

I visited the Kingwood store with the hope of getting LASIK. However, I'm not a good candidate so my appointment changed to an exam and contact fitting. My optical results didn't meet my expectations so I had a second exam and fitting by another company with better results. After discussing the issue with the manager and speaking with the general office I'm satisfied with the overall outcome/impact to me. I will consider using Berkeley for future fittings although I will likely request a different doctor. I gave Berkeley 4 stars because their actions let me know they care.

Sales associate in Optical, Michelle was not very helpful. My overall eye exam was excellent. In fact, service during eye exam was outstanding. However, Sales Associate Michelle- in Optical next door, would not make the extra effort to contact my insurance company as my insurance company requested to verify benefits. Moreover, associate was dismissive and said that she didn't "have time" to contact my insurance carrier as they had requested - since she seemed to have great difficulty pulling up required insurance information online- despite my insurance company advising that all pertinent information was out there. She assured me she would call me the following morning after my visit to the store. She never did. I went to Vision Source and easily and happily spent $1000.00 there on multiple pairs of glasses and items. They provided great and respectful service, with a conscientious and responsive staff- who were clearly interested in my business. All of our future optical needs will be handled at Vision Source. She ruined what could've been a great visit. Unfortunate. My visit to the Optical store was very different and much more service oriented several years ago. My Amended Review. January 30,2017. A special thank you to Ms Catherine Martinez for her professional handling of a difficult situation and all of her valiant and professional efforts towards service recovery for an unhappy customer (me). Ms Martinez called me immediately upon reading my initial review and seemed genuine about her concerns to make things right. She surpassed all of my expectations in this regard. From check in to check out, the entire exam took no longer than and hour and a half (this includes the wait time for my eyes to dilate). Then the staff in the optical center was fantastic! Myosha(I'm not spelling her name right) was very helpful. She helped me make the major decision on which glasses I should get. After trying on over 10 pairs of glasses, we found the right ones. When I went back to pick up my glasses, the staff was just the same...very helpful. My glasses were adjusted and I left with eye glass cleaner and cloths. This is the best experience I have had buying glasses ever!

If I could give more stars I would! I don't normally write reviews except for exceptionally good or bad places/items. This place is exceptional. Took care of me with no out of pocket expense. The story. After going to the DMV to renew my license, I was told that I needed a doctor to sign some paperwork because I could only read their chart with one eye or get my vision corrected (which means glasses, contacts, lasik or cataract surgery). I have one eye that sees 20/20 and I can read close up with my other eye just fine. This works well because I can see far and near. I have natural monovision and went in to see if I could get lasik so I could get my license renewed. Dr. Palumbo and staff gave me some tests and at the end said if I wanted LASIK I could but they don't recommend it and to wait for my cataract to get worse in the bad eye before the cataract would be replaced. Gave him the paperwork the DMV gave me to have him fill out. He filled it out and I am headed back to the DMV! All the staff were very professional and friendly.

This was my first visit to the Berkeley Eye Center and I was a bit apprehensive about the forthcoming "puff" test, which was my primary reason for going there. The facility was clean and modern in all respects. The staff were all friendly and professional. As for the puff test, the technician numbed my eyes before administering the test, so the test was painless and flawless. I was wondering why other vision centers weren't using the same techniques. Amazing team. I have myopia and decided to do lasiks. I got my preliminary check up on Monday. Tuesday, I went back for final screening to make sure I’m eligible for lasiks and I passed the test. I had my surgery on Friday and it went well. I’d like to thank for Ms Diana Lopez for a very well-explained process for lasiks or PRK. She answers my questions with enthusiasm. Also, I would like to thank Dr. Palumbo for making sure that my eyes are okay before and after the surgery. Also, Dr? McQueen for doing my lasiks. He is amazing and he has this soothing voice so that you’ll not feel nervous during the surgery. I can now see world in a better view even within the 24 hour after the operation. I’m five days post operation now and it’s getting better. I’ll have my one month follow and can’t wait to see them again. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to call Berkeley. I have been with this center for years. In addition to caring for my glaucoma and other eye problems they were the ones that did a very delicate eye surgery on me when other doctors said they wouldn't touch me due to such a sensitive surgery. As a result, I see better today than when I first came to them! I did have to travel to another location for the surgery but when it comes to your sight, who cares? I'd go a thousand miles if needed.

Berkeley is exceptional from start to finish. The front desk staff has a good customer service oriented attitude. Dr Palumbo and the technician who examined me took great care to explain each step so that I understood what they were doing and why it was important. He answered my questions and concerns about possible affect that Type II diabetes might have on my vision. Dr Palumbo assured me that he observed no negative affect from the diabetes on my vision. He assured me that a report would be sent to my primary doctor so that he had the latest results in my file. At check out, the gentleman took the initiative to verify that my insurance allows one eye exam per year even though I do not have broad coverage for vision care. If other health care providers copied the Berkeley play book, there would be far fewer patient complaints about health care.

So i got a huge peice of rust lodged in my eye whille doing my brakes, waited about 3 hours then decided to go to the er. Well they could not do anything for me at the er. So the next morning called up Berkley Eye Center at 7:30 in the morning, i had an appt at 815 the same day. Long story short everyone there went above and beyond there duties to make sure that i was comfortable. Then i saw Dr. Baker, she looked in my eye and after a very uncomfortable procedure it was removed. These people are the real deal if i could give them 10 stars i would. I did not feel comfortable with the new optometrist who immediately wanted to schedule me for cataract surgery, so I drove 2 hours back to Berkeley Eye Center and Dr. Palumbo for a second opinion. Dr McQueen helped me to get help from an excellent doctor to reattach my retina and later performed cataract surgery on both eyes. Everyone was exceptional! Checkin was quick and appt on time. Melissa took me back and did all the Pre Dr tests. She took care to get data entered meticulously and treated me like family. Dr Palumbo was great too! The best experience tho was with Gisela Cintron and her patience and honesty in helping me select frames. I have small face so this part is always trying. Gisela knows the frame lines and was great at helping me find several small trendy frames. Her patience kicked in when I had to make the final decision!! She has outstanding customer service skills, knowledge of product, pricing, AND have I said patience?!!! Thank you!!
