I had Lasik done here at the end of 2021. All went super well and I can still see better than 20/20. I felt like Dr. Kumar really knew what he was doing and they had a great amount of care both before and after surgery. I was pretty nervous about the procedure but after doing a lot of research I'm glad I landed here. They were great. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough great things about my cataract surgery. I've never needed surgery for anything. Just the mention of the word was scary. From start to finish all staff contributed towards my positive experience. Dr. Jan Stahl did an amazing job. I went from hardly being able to see to 20/20 vision!!! Who knew? I thought I was going to go blind eventually. Every day I am thankful for my vision and extremely thankful for the professionalism and effectiveness of Denver Eye Surgery. If you're apprehensive in the slightest of cataract surgery, don't be. Trust me, it's a game change if it's done right. It's was done right for me:).

I am about 6 weeks out from my LASIK procedure at Denver Eye Surgeons and could not be more pleased with the results. Dr Kumar and his team were professional and kept me well informed throughout the process, even when there were a couple "hiccups" with the equipment during the procedure. December 2022 As usual, the doctor and technicians saw me promptly. They did an excellent job of explaining the process, findings and implications of the examination. As a bonus, all 4 people I interacted with were friendly and personable.. August 2021 I was able to get an emergency appointment though I was new to their practice.. I saw two doctors, both of whom have great "bedside" manners. They kept me fully informed of the purpose and findings of the various examination performed. I was given clear instructions on home care and follow-up procedures. They were very professional. The support staff likewise were very knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I plan to start using Denver Eye Surgeons for all my optical care.

Nothing Short of a Miracle From start to finish, getting LASIK at Denver Eye Surgeons was a fantastic experience. The consultation was extremely thorough and the LASIK team—Lisa, Rhonda, and Dr. Stahl—worked together seamlessly to deliver exceptional service. They provided all the information I needed throughout the process and answered my many questions along the way. Rhonda calmed my nerves on the day of the procedure and although I was scared, I’d do it again in a heartbeat for the results. I was in and of the operating room in less than 15 min. Even if you are scared, just think: It will be over soon, and I’ll be able to see perfectly after! As they described, my eyes were sore the day of the procedure, but it tapered off over time and the drops they prescribed/recommended helped me heal quickly. At my one-month post op. appointment they confirmed I have 20-15 vision in both eyes. No words can describe how wonderful it is to wake up every day being able to see clearly. I went to 3 different places to get a LASIK consultation and ultimately ended up picking Denver Eye Surgeons. I was told at one consultation that my corneas were too steep to be a good candidate for LASIK but the team at Denver Eye Surgeons reassured me that my eyes were normal and I would be a good candidate. This was the only place that I actually met the surgeon and I felt so comfortable with Dr. Stahl. Everything was quick and easy on surgery day and when I went in for my follow up appointment I was seeing 20/15! I highly recommend Denver Eye Surgeons for LASIK!

My astigmatism and presbyopia had gotten to the point that I needed two sets of glasses, one to correct my distance vision and one to see things closer than 3 feet away. I went to Denver Eye Surgeons to find out about LASIK because I had seen their sign outside their office that faces I-70 at Denver West. After my first appointment where I was determined to be a good candidate for the surgery we set up a surgery date over a month later. Over that month I was given the chance to try out different prescriptions of contact lenses to choose the sight that would suit me best. Dr Kumar and his staff made me feel comfortable and the surgery was done before I knew it. It’s a treat to be able to see without the aide of glasses or contacts. I had a fantastic experience with Dr. Dan Stahl and his team! They are world class! Rhonda was also extremely helpful throughout the process! My eyesight has steadily gotten worse from a ton of screen time and driving for work. Over the last 5 years my vision really tanked. I came to Dr. Stahl at 20/150 vision, and left 20/15. That sounds 10X better, but I assure you it is exponentially more! Needless to say I am thrilled! I really could not have wished for anything better. It is crazy to me how vivid the world is. I am one of the top Realtors in Denver and being able to see clearly is truly a blessing. I really can't believe I let it get so bad. I've had a lot of questions about recovery. I am 5 days post-op and so far I feel great. My eyes hurt pretty bad for about 1 hour post-op. I took a 5 hour nap and felt pretty darn good after. I was able to work 6 hours the next day without issues. Monday was a 15 hour day and minus some dryness my eyes feel great! So far I am very happy! Looking forward to being 100% healed, and better than ever! Thanks Dr. Stahl!

We have been coming to this office for about 5 years now. It is always slow, but has gotten worse. On our recent visit for my son, the check in staff was rude. They gave arbitrary mask rules (everyone has to wear a surgical mask even if it doesn’t fit) which no one would explain and we waited and waited and waited. We waited to go back, we waited for the doctor. What should have been an hour was two! When the doctor finally got to us, she was condescending. There was no concern for our time or schedule. We will not be returning.

I have worn glasses or contacts since I was two years old. I have had beyond terrible eye sight my entire life. I never thought the day would come, where I would be able to see without contacts or glasses. My dream is to become a full time firefighter. I was told I would have to get eye surgery to pursue my career because my uncorrected vision was so poor. When I went into Denver eye surgeons for my evaluation for lasik eye surgery, I did not know what to expect. I did not qualify for lasik. This is when Dr. Kumar presented me with the option of Visian ICL surgery. This was a way for me to correct my vision permanently, so my eye sight would no longer prevent me from achieving my dreams. I went to all the appointments and went through with the surgery. It was hands down, without a doubt, the best decision I have ever made. I have been able to see better than ever imaginable! No more waking up and not being able to see. No more putting my glasses on, the second I wake up in the morning. No more issues with contacts falling out or irritating my eyes. I strongly encourage anyone who qualifies for the surgery, to go with it. I've always gone here for my normal exams and had wonderful experiences. Recently I decided to try for Lasik. I had terrible eyesight to the point where I wasn't a candidate but I was for PRK surgery. Before the operation Dr Kumar warned me that although he has an incredibly small rate for patients needing a touch up, I'm the kind of patient that is most likely to need a touch up because of my extreme prescription. I got the surgery back in September and after my last follow-up appointment I found out that not only will I not need a touch up surgery but in fact my vision is 20/15 in both eyes! It's truly life changing to go from not being able to find my glasses in the morning to having better vision without any corrective lenses than I did with.

5 stars is all I have to say for my experience with Dr. Stahl, Lisa, and the team at Denver Eye Surgeons. If you are still searching for a place to get Lasik done, your search should end here. My whole experience from initial consultation to Lasik procedure was very quick, it took 1 month. On the day of my consultation, I was immediately brought in once I called to check-in and I was greeted by the amazing, Lisa. Her positive energy and friendliness took my nerves away immediately. She did an initial exam for my vision and it didn’t even feel like I was at a doctor’s appointment. I had so much fun hanging out and chatting with Lisa and wish my appointment lasted longer! She answered all of my questions around Lasik and recovery and introduced me to Dr. Stahl. He completed a quick examination on me and told me I was a candidate for Lasik and they were able to schedule my operation in 3 weeks. I was like seriously, in 3 weeks?! I thought I would have to wait months and I was extremely excited!!! On procedure day, I was nervous again but was quickly calmed down once I met with Lisa and the other nurses. I had also taken something earlier that they prescribed to me and it helped calm the nerves. As I was in the operating room, Dr. Stahl instructed me to lay down and they started the laser on my eyes. It literally took 30 seconds on each eye!!! And I didn’t feel any pain, only slight pressure for a few seconds. Once done, I got up and I immediately could see 20/20. The room went from blurry to being able to see everyone’s faces in clear detail. I was so impressed and had to laugh at myself for being nervous in the first place. I think I shed a tear when I could see Lisa and Dr. Stahl clearly for the first time. It was one of the most incredible moments of my life and I have to thank Denver Eye Surgeons for changing my life. I had worn contacts and glasses for 17 years and now I don’t have to anymore!!! I’m now one week into recovery and seeing clearer than ever and was able to jump back into my active lifestyle with no issues. If you are contemplating getting Lasik, STOP and just DO IT and go see Dr. Stahl, Lisa, and team. You will not regret this decision! Thank you Denver Eye Surgeons for changing my life!!!

A few weeks ago, I had both of my natural eye lenses replaced by refractive (vision corrected) lenses by Dr. Jan Stahl of Denver Eye Surgeons. He has a great bedside manner, and communicated the process and risks professionally and thoroughly. He did a wonderful job, it was pain free and the end result is that I am now able to see without the need for any glasses for the first time in more than 25 years. During this crazy time of COVID Denver Eye Surgeons is during an amazing job keeping patients safe. When you arrive at the office call first before going in and they ask you a series of questions related to your health. Then they tell you to come in with masks on if they deem you are safe, they ask you to sanitize your hands and they take your temperature.After that they take you to sanitize chairs that are at least 6 feet apart. I felt very safe.

This place is amazing. My 21 year old son completely lost vision in hi left eye due to a cataract. Extremely rare at his age his eye had literally died and was crossed. Thus team of individuals did not only correct his vision but they brought his eye back to life and it is normal after 2 years. Very professional, clean and kind. I can see!!!! Great experience. Until recently, contacts worked really well for me but for the last year I was only able to see clearly out of my glasses. Initially I was ok with that but they got old really quickly so I started my research for Lasik. All places looked good but I chose Denver Eye Surgeons because of their longevity and they are close to my home. Cataract surgery was smooth, professional and successful. I chose the Pan Optix lenses. It was a good choice. I have worn glasses almost all my life. My right eye is now 20/20 with no glasses. My left eye is perfect at distance and much improved close up. No glasses. Shadow images are gone which was my most important issue. I was warned that some people do not like the halo of lights around bright lights with the Optix lenses irritating. They are noticeable but compared to the benefits of the lenses not significant. The halos are exaggerated on car headlights on a dark night. Time will resolve this one. My opinion is the Pan Optix are the right lenses for me.

I'm writing this review to let others know- patients and future employees, that Denver Eye Surgeons really does bring their "A-game." I was an employee and patient and couldn't have asked for better care in either category. Each department, optical, receptionist, billing, technicians, IT, Sx coordinators, doctors and practice administrator are all incredible. The staff is courteous, smart and all seem to have a sense of humor! I feel that they are selective with most staff and truly only hire those who are passionate about patient care. Working in the industry, a 30 minute wait time for a doctor and tech (ones that will give you the best care) is really not a long wait time. My current ophthalmology practice was at about an hour wait time and two-three hour from start to finish when I first started. We're not quite at a 30 minutes time yet, but strive to be soon! I don't plan on being in Denver anytime soon, but I know where I would go if I were looking for an eye doctor or career! Oh and I forgot, if you check them out, you MUST go on Halloween- it's pretty incredible!

I decided to have Lasik in Sept. of 2018. That was the first great decision I made. The second was choosing Denver Eye Surgeons. Dr. Stahl, Lisa Smart and the entire staff were incredible. From my first call to them to my 1 month post op. appointment, they have all been so awesome. I am a high school football official, so the scheduling was a bit tricky. They were able to do the surgery on a Monday so I would not have to miss any football games. By that Friday I was seeing 20/15 and loving my new eyes. One month later I am seeing 20/10 for the first time in 40 years with out glasses or contact lenses. If you have ever thought about doing this but have had second thoughts, DON'T, it will be the best decision you have ever made for your self.

The reason we are willing to travel an hour each way to get to this place is the quality of caring that the various techs demonstrate in the ways they conduct the different eye exams. I am one of those extra-sensitive people about my eyes. It feels like they have put a lot of thought into how to conduct each procedure with the least discomfort. Denver Eye Surgeons, specifically, Dr. Kumar, literally worked a miracle on my eyes. Despite some initial hesitations with the practice, due to a couple of scheduling and administrative mix-ups, I really wanted to get my laser vision correction (PRK) done here because I had heard the reputation of the doctors. The office is comfortable, welcoming, and modern and the staff are all super sweet. I definitely didn't have any doubts about the level of care I would receive. My only doubt was whether I would have a successful procedure, given how high my prescription was. Dr. Kumar took a ton of time to explain the different options and advise me on his recommendations for my eyes. When I still had doubts, we spoke again a couple of times by phone. In the end, despite PRK being a pretty rough first few days of recovery, I am happy beyond belief with my now PERFECT vision (5 weeks later). I can see better than I ever imagined and it still amazes me that I don't have any corrective lenses. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kumar and Denver Eye Surgeons to anyone and in fact, I plan to use them for my routine eye care moving forward, which hopefully will just be a yearly exam since I no longer need corrective lenses! One word of caution: do not schedule your appointments when you are in a rush. The time spent at the office is worth it, but it's not a quick in-and-out. Certainly, a small price to pay for very thorough care.

Denver Eye Surgeons is generally a good clinic. Dr. Kumar is great but the other actual ophthalmologist MD's are a bit cold and standoffish. The optometrists (the ones without the MD) are not too friendly nor seemingly as thorough with the exams. Lately, this location seems to want to insist you see an optometrist rather than a MD unless you have some serious issue. This seems to be a change in the policy for the worse. One suggestion for the clinic overall is that it is a bit of a turn-off when the doctors walk in with a fleet of technicians armed with notebook computers. They seem to want to protect the doctors from questions and want to whisk you away after your exam when this is the very time you may have some questions for the doctor, and the doctor alone. Because of this, the experience can feel a bit rushed and the patient undervalued. This is just a suggestion for anyone at Denver Eye Surgeons reading this. Matt in the optics area (glasses etc.) is awesome though and we have insisted on seeing him for years to fill the actual prescriptions.

I do have rings at night, so headlights or Christmas lights do have the halo effect, but I don't mind it at all. A very small price to pay for the amazing vision I have. Also, big kudos to Dr. Kumar for performing the surgery and doing an amazing job figuring out what my eyes required (as I also had implantable contact lenses in my eyes which he had to remove). Everyone here is so professional and friendly, I always felt relaxed and comfortable even though I was scared that my life was about to change with Lasik. I have worn contacts or glasses since the 3rd grade (I am now 30). Items were blurry for me at arms length so I never knew what life was like without glasses or contacts. Holy cow!! This place is AMAZING!! I have been a 24/7 Caregiver for my best friend for 6 years now. He has Autism and is heavily affected by the energy of the Doctors he sees and the environment provided by the doctors office. Let me tell you this - this has THE BEST experience we have ever had. For an Autistic patient the lighting might be a little bright, but when I explained it was so people could SEE and it was an office for eye doctors, that made it okay. He was cool. :-) The nurses are SOOOOOOO incredibly patient and friendly. I thought I was on another planet. Dr. Kumar is seriously one of the most patient Doctors we have ever encountered. You see, David is prone to saying random things, as if he has Tourettes at times. Doctor Kumar just rolled right along with our little circus (which includes David's therapy puppy, Benny). It's important to note that these folks aren't just friendly and kind. They are also VERY PROFESSIONAL. David has a cyst on his eyeball. NOT on the lid, on the eyeball. They moved FAST to get us schedule and in for surgery the very next week. Dr. Kumar let us know that this was something a little unusual, but was so empathetic and caring in his delivery we had no fear. David has OCD. He bumped into one of the nurses and she was kind enough to come over and help him even it out. I'm telling you, this place is AMAZING. So I was already mega impressed and then we did the surgery. Another incredible experience. The team noticed that David doesn't really do well when he is away from me, so they let me put on a sterile bunny suit thing and be there for him during the operation. This was of course until I looked up at the video screen of the surgery in his eye. Two of the most amazing nurses had to help me from the OR to the PreOp to lay down. They took MY blood pressure and gave ME apple juice. I'm just the caregiver and they took care of ME!! Such great folks. I am bummed that I cannot remember the names of all the nurses who helped. There was a nurse that saw David starting to freak out. She was such a pro she walked up and said "I saw your little doggie Benny, he's really cute". They became instant pals and she helped make sure he was super calm. The anesthesiologist was a real PRO. David is on a vary wide range of different medications and she navigated those waters with ease. I don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. Don't worry if the waiting room looks crowded. They run like a very well oiled machine. If I could give them 10 STARS I would. The Vanilla Milkshakes (our band) LOVES the Denver Eye Surgeons. And personally, from my heart, THANK YOU. Being a caregiver is rough and you all helped me find a few minutes of peace in just a regular hectic day for us. Thank you Dr. Kumar and Team. :-)

My new multi-focal lens have totally transformed my vision. For the first time in years, I am functional without glasses. I play trumpet in a community band and a community orchestra and no longer need glasses to read my music and see the conductor clearly. I had PRK surgery with Dr. Kumar on July 7th 2014. He saw me on several occasions (as part of the free consultation!) over the course of about two years to make sure that I was a good candidate for any surgery at all and whether PRK would be better than LASIK. Ultimately, he decided that PRK was best for me. I really don't think that patients get this kind of attention at other LASIK centers. The fact that Dr. Kumar takes the potential risks of eye surgery seriously is a huge virtue. He also has a really nice staff. In particular, Lisa Smart was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. The surgery was pretty easy (and only lasted a few minutes). Dr. Kumar and the staff did a great job of answering questions and making me feel comfortable. My healing time was pretty typical of PRK: the first few days were uncomfortable, but not terrible. After a week, the pain was gone, I was able to go on with most daily activities and my vision was good ( but not yet 20/20). I'm now just about 20/20 in both eyes. It's really amazing. As one other reviewer mentioned, sometimes the waiting time for office visits is long. But this seems to me to be a small price to pay, especially since the wait time is probably due to the fact that the staff takes time with their patients to be sure that their needs are being met.

I wish I’d had LASIK years ago! Along with the Kamra procedure, it has greatly improved my quality of life. I work outdoors and do a lot of camping, and it was always challenging to deal with contact lenses for distance vision. When my near vision became poor enough to need reading glasses, that created additional problems. I’m about a month out from surgery now and my vision is fantastic. I have not had to use reading glasses at all. I’m very pleased with the results of my surgery and highly recommend the Kamra Inlay and LASIK at Denver Eye Surgeons.

After a lot of research I chose Denver Eye Surgeons and Dr. Jan Stahl. Initially I chose Dr. Stahl for his work with the Crystalens implant which seemed like it might be a good choice for me. After a complete workup on my eyes and meeting with Dr. Stahl he indicated that he was discovering the Crystalens was lacking predictability and often required follow on treatment. That told me that Dr. Stahl was honest and someone I would trust and it also told me that the Crystalens was not my choice. Dr. Stahl suggested the ReSTOR IQ lens for my dominant eye which would give me predictably excellent distance vision but not close up vision. I had read so many negative things about multi focal lenses that it seemed to be a good choice. His suggestion was to have the dominant eye done with that lens and then take a week to make a decision on the non-dominant eye. I was impressed once again with his honesty since the IQ lens was essentially the 'free' Medicare lens. Money was not part of the decision process on my part but I knew he thought this would be the best lens for my dominant eye. One week following that surgery my dominant eye was tested at 20/15 and I knew I would appreciate a lens that might give me somewhat better near vision. We discussed the ReSTOR +2.5 multi focal lens which had only been approved in the U.S. for about 7 months although had been available in Europe for several years and had excellent reviews. My biggest concerns with multi focal lenses were halos or glare while night driving and the idea that it might take several months of 'neural adaptation'. Those are predictably frightening to the patient. Following the implantation of the ReSTOR +2.5 in my non-dominant eye those concerns evaporated. My 'neural adaptation' either amounted to about three eye blinks or was simply non-existent. With each of the eye operations it took 2 to 3 days for the vision to become crystal clear although it instantly was better than with the cataracts. So my experience was a very good one. My fears were misplaced. Night driving is once again a pleasure and a joy. I can tell slight differences between the two lens as far as glare or halos are concerned. The IQ lens for me displays no glare or halos from oncoming cars. The +2.5 has mild segmented rings around the headlights of oncoming cars if I focus on the headlights. Driving normally you don't focus on the oncoming headlights. The glare and halos I had with cataracts were making night driving dangerous. I will wear low power readers if I am doing precision wood working or reading a newspaper with low contrast print under dim light. For normal life no glasses are required. Where I had thought my vision wasn't all that bad with cataracts suddenly I discovered just how bad it had become once the first lens was done. An example was a shirt that I thought was gray with cream colored stripes turned out to be light blue with white stripes. Everything is much more vibrant, colorful, and bright. My computer monitor had been set to 100% brightness and is now at 30%. Think of comparing a color television from 1970 to a modern 4K flatscreen. The two lenses seem to work in conjunction with each other. Distance vision is virtually identical, mid distances surprise me because sometimes the IQ lens is sharper and of course near vision the +2.5 is the clear winner. The net result is vision that is excellent over all distances and at night. I would personally chose the same two lenses again. When I drove at night after the dominant eye operation with the IQ lens I was amazed at the sharp vision I had for the dashboard, controls, GPS and the road. It can be a somewhat emotional experience to suddenly have your vision so much improved. I highly recommend Dr. Stahl and Denver Eye Surgeons
