I recently had Lasik last week and WOW!! Kraff Eye Institute was AMAZING! I highly recommend them. Dr. Kraff and his team walk you through everything during your procedure and make you feel comfortable. I wish I did this years ago!

I did my eye surgery with Dr. Kraff and so far I am very satisfied with the quality of the medical service. The surgery itself was not as scary and painful as I expected. 5 starts for this part of the service. My very big disappointment is on the side of the billing department (I believe the name of the manager is Debby). During my first consultation I was verbally promised by them one price for the service, but a few months after the surgery they sent me a significantly larger bill. After I politely asked them to check whether the bill is correct and take into account their own price information - they did not even try to check the bill and denied any prior verbal statements they made to me. Overall, it was not professional and respectful to name one price and then charge a larger one.

I couldn’t be happier with the results of my PRK operation by Dr. Colman Kraff. I’m reviewing well over 3 years from my operation and everything is absolutely perfect. It was a little disconcerting immediately after the operation and the recovery period because your vision does CONSIDERABLY decrease for a little while but after that my vision is perfect. I had 20/10 (better than 20/20) vision as a child and adolescent, went through astigmatism at around age 20 and had to wear glasses and/or contacts. After the PRK operation I was again able to attain 20/10 vision. Dr. Colman Kraff is one of the most, and I mean the most, experienced physicians in laser eye treatment in the world.

I could not recommend Dr. Kraff and his team enough. I was scheduled to have LASIK surgery at another eye institution, but after thorough research and reading endless reviews, I ultimately decided to postpone my procedure until I could have it performed at Kraff Eye Institute. Given this was a procedure on my eyes, I wanted to have it done where I felt most comfortable and had nothing but confidence in the team carrying out the procedure. After my initial consultation, Dr. Kraff recommended PRK and did so, as he felt it was the safest option for my eyes. I am four weeks post surgery and very happy with how my recovery is progressing. Dr. Kraff has answered all my question throughout the process and spent the time to give me proper guidance and assurances both in advance of the procedure and afterwards. Every visit, I have been impressed with the efficiency and friendliness of the office staff and their continual support. I live outside of the U.S. and had many options for where to have my procedure done, but very thankful I chose the Kraff Eye Institute!

Such a GREAT experience. I was definitely scared walking in and not sure what to expect. all the exams are very thorough and well explained to me. Dr. Kraff himself review the report and evaluate me himself before and after the surgery. I wasn't handed it off. Also, I love the fact the operation room has a glass side that your family/friend can watch the operation from the other side. Dr. Kraff is very very patient and explained details even I had my surgery on a Saturday 9am schedule. I also had another consultation at LASIK PLUS. While Lasik plus is cheaper. I also didn't feel they care as much as if i am just another procedure they are trying to get in and out quickly. Forgot to mention, Kraff gives student discount for the Lasik surgery.

I am thrilled with the results of my Lasik surgery! I've worn glasses/contacts since I was 9 (40 years) and have not been a candidate for Lasik until now. The staff was professional, friendly and knowledgeable. They answered every question I had, walked me step by step through what I would expect, and even had an online video I needed to watch before the procedure. During the procedure, I was told everything that would happen. They counted down each step so I could manage my expectations. No pain at all, just some 'odd feelings' which they explained. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at the Kraff Eye Institute. When I called about exploring the option of LASIK, they were able to get me in right away. During my initial visit everyone was very nice, the staff was extremely thorough with testing my vision and at the end of the appointment I met Dr. Kraff. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. During the entire process, I didn’t feel pressured to commit to LASIK and that was reassuring because it is expensive. Luckily BCBSIL gave me a little discount. The day of the procedure Dr. Kraff’s team did additional tests to ensure the initial results were still valid. Despite being nervous for the procedure, it was incredibly easy and painless. Recovery was just as easy. After the procedure I feel asleep and when I woke up my vision was good as new. One major compliment I have to give Dr. Kraff is that he noticed my wife was very anxious during the procedure but after every step he gave her a thumbs up. Its the little things like that that make a huge difference. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my eyes. I highly recommend Dr. Kraff and everyone on his team.

Eyesight is so critical and you have to go to the best to make sure it is done right. Dr. Kraff listened to my concerns about not being able to read if they fully corrected my -3.75 in both eyes (I was wearing contacts for distance and reading glasses with the contacts to read) and had me try Mono Vision for a couple of days (with contacts) to see if that was right for me. Lasik went beautifully and I can now see distance and read with no glasses or contacts. Their first concern is safety and to protect your eyesight and if I could give them 10 stars I would. The whole team there is amazing and Dr. Kraff makes magic happen.

I couldn't be happier with my Lasik experience with Dr. Kraff and his staff. The pre-op was very thorough, and he even wrote me a script for regular glasses since I only had contact lenses and you need to be out of them for a couple of weeks prior to surgery. The team was very thorough in explaining everything prior to the surgery and on the day of leaving me with no anxiety when I walked in or sat in the chair. I was in and out in about an hour and seeing crystal clear after a 6 hour nap. I think total time under the laser was 31 seconds! All follow-ups have been great and a year later I still see clearer than I ever did with contacts/glasses. I would recommend Dr. Kraff to anyone looking to ditch glasses/contacts and for eye exams, glasses, contacts, etc as well.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kraff. He came recommended to me by two peers who were very satisfied with the outcome of their Lasik procedure. Dr. Kraff did excellent work on my eyes and the results were immediate. I think the last time I was able to see this well for distance was my pre-teen years! I use readers for up-close, mostly because of my age, but my vision and astigmatism has improved to the point where I could now drive during a very sunny day with more confidence and the glare of carlights at night do not blind me. I am very grateful and happy. I would highly recommend.

I just had lasik in February. Dr. Kraff was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Explained the entire procedure as it was happening to keep my mind off it. I had blurry vision for about an hour but on the train ride home it started to improve. After I woke up the next day, I could see perfectly. I put drops in constantly and my eyes healed fast. Within two or three weeks I could see perfectly and have no halos or any problems like dry eyes. My advice go here! use those drops and you will have perfect vision!

Almost 10 years ago, Dr. Coleman Kraff performed Lasik surgery on both my eyes. The procedure was completely painless and I had no anxiety due to the way Dr. Kraff spoke to me through the entire procedure. I would almost call it pleasant. I was about to turn 50 at the time and had worn glasses since 2nd grade and hard contact lenses for over 40 years. I woke up the next morning and felt like I had been given the gift of comfortable clear sight, for the 1st time in my life. I have enjoyed that gift every day since. These are marvelous people as well as exceptional doctors.

Getting LASIK was the coolest thing I've ever done for myself, hands down. I was really starting to hate wearing daily contacts. They were bothering my eyes and I could feel them making my eyes drier than normal. At the same time I was becoming more aware of my waste and hated throwing out and recycling the daily containers, daily! After speaking with my eye doctor, she referred me to Kraff Eye Institute. I went in for a consultation and decided that it was the right time for me to get LASIK. They used multiple machines to determine if I was a good candidate for LASIK, and I met with Dr. Kraff to discuss my options. They ruled me a good fit for LASIK and I decided it was time! All the prep I had to do was visit my eye doctor for a final examination to see what my prescription is and had me get medicine before surgery. The day of surgery went so smoothly! I checked- in and paid. They did final tests to make sure they had the right prescription. Gave me some Valium, and went into the other room for the procedure. The procedure took 15 minutes total. The only discomfort I had was them keeping my eyes open, but besides that I was told to stare at a red dot. They walked me through the entire procedure and made me feel very comfortable. My husband was able to watch in the viewing room. Afterwards, they gave us an explanation of what we needed to do and sent us on our way! I was in and out of the building in 3 hours. My only recommendation is that they did say it was okay to take an Uber home, but I don't recommend doing that because there was no way I wanted to look at my phone right after surgery and deal with trusting someone I don't know to get me home. Between the Valium and me wanting to go to sleep, I really didn't want to walk around Chicago by myself. LASIK also costs a lot more than the ads on Groupon or Facebook say. If you want to have a trusted doctor handle your procedure, especially with your eyes, Kraff Eye Institute is the way to go! I've been bragging to my friends and family about LASIK since I've gotten it and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have 20-15 vision!

I had Lasik done on March 31. I went into my consult thinking I would do multiple consults and pick the best out of the options but after my consult with Dr. Kraff and his team, I left with an appointment scheduled to have the procedure completed. The team did a great job of answering my questions and reassuring me (as we're ALL nervous....its your freaking EYES people!). My eyes healed perfectly and Dr. Kraff did a great job directing me through the procedure. The only thing I wish they would have done differently was explain the actual steps of the procedure a bit better. You go from one room to a second where the lasering actually takes place and it threw me off. I thought something was wrong initially until the tech explained the steps. I Had no pain, just normal, excessive watering the night of and next morning and some light sensitivity which both subsided by the evening the next day. I now have 20/20 vision and only use drops in the mornings and at night when I remember. I debated going to a more budget friendly Lasik Clinic but am extremely happy that I chose Kraff instead. Highly recommended!

This was the first and only place I went to in my search for Lasik. The staff was SO nice and friendly. During my first consultation, the doctor I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable and answered every single one of my questions, even though some of them were probably silly, with complete professionalism and did not make me feel stupid for asking all the small detailed questions I was curious about. I was still very nervous to get Lasik for all the normal reasons of having surgery and possible risks, but I decided to go through with it. BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. My vision is amazing. I can literally see everything. I haven't watched TV or driven at night without my glasses in years, and I literally feel like someone gave me new eyes. The surgery was quick, Dr. Kraff made me feel so comfortable. He talked me through the whole process before and during the surgery so I knew what was going on. Stop looking for an eye surgeon - Dr. Kraff is the best. I was rapidly losing my vision from age 37 to 41. I was tired of reinvesting in new glasses. I went to several Lasik clinics that ran me through like cattle and misdiagnosed the problem. I was not Lasik eligible. Every doctor kept telling me that scars on my eyes prevented Lasik. I was told that I had Salzmanns Degenerative Eye Disease. No doctor offered solutions beyond glasses. (I have a young child and I wanted to be able to play with her without worrying about my glasses knocking off or breaking.) I also have a professional job and my eyes are my livelihood. I was not willing to experiment with someone that I did not fully trust and many doctors seemed too busy to spend more than two seconds to determine if they could do Lasik or not. No doctor looked for creative solutions or invested any thought beyond whether they were getting paid for Lasik. My whole life changed with Dr. Kraff. His staff spent ample time with me and ran several tests. It was clear from my first consultation that they were head and shoulders above the rest. The way they treat patients and their knowledge base is unmatched by anyone. He easily and correctly diagnosed Salzmann's disease and performed surgery on one eye. I was told by three other doctors that this eye was untreatable and had too many scars, as well as an astigmatism, to ever be treated. They were wrong. After Thursday surgery, I was back to work on a Monday. I could see colors and definition in the world so much clearer without glasses. I can play with my daughter without glasses. And I can throw out all my prescription glasses - I no longer need them. (I am writing this review with NO GLASSES or contacts). I would not trust any other eye doctor beyond Kraff Eye Clinic with my eyes. He has literally changed my life. Thank you, Dr. Kraff.

My experience at the Kraff Eye Institute was phenomenal. Each appointment was smooth and every step of the procedure was clearly explained. The LASIK operation itself was so fast, and after resting for the remainder of the day, I could see clearly the next morning. I took a flight 4 days after the operation and began a thru-hike of the Superior Hiking Trail a few days later! I was seeing the wild strawberries and dewberries so much more clearly than my hiking partner with my new 20/15 vision! I followed all instructions for the drops and have had minimal dryness, but carry artificial tears just in case. It is a whole new world to backpack without worrying about contacts and glasses— I’m thrilled with my experience. 10/10 would recommend to any friend considering the operation.

Dr. Coleman Kraff successfully completed my lasik 20 years ago. Not only is he is simply the best eye surgeon available, he is also an incredible human being. I'm 50 today, but I remember at 30 trying to switch careers from teaching to the pharmaceutical industry. Yesterday I went for my one month follow up since PRK with Dr. Coleman Kraff, and for the first time since I was in second grade was told I have 20/20 vision. My prescription pre-surgery was -8.5. It's literally a miracle! I am incredibly happy I made the decision to get PRK- it was so worth it. The recovery from PRK is very painful for a few days and healing continues over 6 months so I am still using multiple eye drops. I have had to call the on-call doctor a couple times for questions and have been back for multiple follow up appointments and always felt very well cared for by the staff and Dr. Kraff.
