Hello, I have been a patient of Dr. Chris Stansbury for several years. Over the years Dr. Stansbury and Crystal, his assistant, have provided me with nothing but the BEST SERVICE AND OPTICAL TREATMENT EXPERIENCES that I have ever had. I LOVE THEM!!! Dr. Stansbury is now treating me for my dry eye condition with IPL Therapy. After 3 treatments, I am really beginning to see a significant difference. I have suffered from dry eyes for many years with rounds and rounds of different eye drops, antibiotics and other treatments. After my completion of the IPL Therapy, the goal is to just have a follow-up treatment one time a year. I really do believe that will happen given the great progress that I am now having with the treatments. Dr. Stansbury and Crystal have both been absolutely fantastic with explaining the process and making me feel very comfortable and at ease during the treatments. They are truly beginning to feel like part of my family!!! I can't imagine going anywhere else for my optical needs. . . . . THEY ARE THE BEST!!

For most of my life I have had either glasses or contacts. That all changed on 3-14-22 when dr. Sinclair did the smile surgery. I went from having -6.5 (R) and -6.25 (L) to 20/20 (R) and 20/30 (L) just 24 hours after surgery and it’ll only progress from there. I would recommend dr Sinclair and wv eye consultants to anyone thinking of having the surgery. Staff is friendly and willing to help with any questions you may have without making you feel inferior. I will be forever grateful!

I went in for a laser eye surgery consultation and I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the office, how professional the staff were, and how wonderful Dr. Sinclair was. I was ineligible for laser eye surgery because of the characteristics of my eyes, but instead of trying to sell it to me anyways the Doctor told me that he doesn’t recommend it and why I’m not a good candidate. I’m very happy for this because I would be paying for it out of pocket as most insurance doesn’t cover it. If I ever need anything major done to my eyes I will come to them 100% of the time.

I couldn't ask for better care. Becky Martin is awesome. One complaint. At the Beckley office, the strips on the handicap ramp are peeling and pose a trip hazard to people with walkers.

They were knowledgeable about my insurance and discrete when discussing billing in the office... which is very rare these days. I had a change in insurance that had me going elsewhere and I was never as satisfied as before. I will be returning to WVEC, definitely!

Dr. Potland is beyond amazing. I haven't been able to see correctly in over 15 years. He knew exactly what was wrong with my eyes, diagnosed me properly and got things rolling. He took the time to ensure I was getting the right care. George is beyond amazing as well. He makes you feel so comfortable. I had such high anxiety when I went in and George made sure to ease my worries immediately. I highly recommend this practice. The only downfall is trying to schedule an appointment. It took me 2 months of calling just to get scheduled and a total of 3 months to be seen. But in all honesty it was well worth the wait!

I have been a patient of WV Eye Consultants before they even had the name. They used to be on the first floor of St. Francis hospital and moved to a new location with ample free parking. They were recommended to me after having emergency eye surgery for a retinal detachment. I’ve had different doctors over the years at WV Eye Consultants, and I’ve consistently received the best care. The front office staff are efficient and friendly. I recommend them to family and friends.

I had to schedule an appointment for a floater in my eye that was very concerning to my PCP. The first apt they had was about a month out but when I explained why the appointment was needed he made it for the next day my dr was working. I have to follow up and the doctor told his assistant to make sure it was before the first of the year because of copays and deductibles. I have never worked for or had any doctor who even thought about that. Everyone from the scheduler to the person who checked me out was as kind and helpful as they can be.

I love getting my eyes checked here. Just prepare to be there for awhile. They tend to get you in and started quickly... But waiting for the doctor to finish up can sometimes take close to an hour. But they make sure you know what is going on with your health before you leave.

I have been having eye problems for the better part of 9 months now. I just recently was referred to Dr. Sinclair at WV Eye Consultants and he is amazing!! His staff is super nice and incredibly helpful! I’ve now been there a few more times and they have taken such great care of me, I don’t want to go anywhere else! The only reason I didnt leave 5 stars is because I felt that one of the front desk associates was not polite. I told her it was my first time there and had never been to an eye doctor so I was unsure on how to register my insurance, she looked at me like I was dumb when I gave her my insurance card and started questioning me on whether I even had insurance. Everyone else there was stellar and super sweet. The technicians were personable and made being there comfortable. Dr Stansbury was super polite and punctual, he was positive and spoke in a way I understood What was happening. But I absolutely loved the ladies that were working with folks getting glasses. They were so nice and honest and gave all kinds of different options and went over everything in detail during the process.

I am a foster parent, and it is difficult to find care for children who have Medicaid. If you can find it, the service is sometime subpar, as if the people using a medical card are of less value. WV Eye Consultants were beyond amazing. They treated each patient with dignity and respect. They were kind and professional from check-in to check-out. Even picking out glasses was pleasant and easy. I highly recommend this practice (Charleston location) for all your eye care needs. My whole family will be going there from now on.

My visit at WVEC today was most pleasant. I did not wait in the WR long at all before Tammy called me back to the exam room. She informed me of what she was doing and proceeded with her preparation for my exam. Then she offered me something to drink and turned down the light for me to relax. I started out seeing Dr. Potwin for a normal eye appointment. I did notice that I was having some Vision difficulties and he let me know that the reason for this was because I have extreme nystagmus. After Consulting with him and getting glasses everything was going great! Everything is still going great, he referred me to the contact specialist and I am getting hard contact lenses now which will slow down the nystagmus enough that I will be able to see even more clearly than I am now. I highly recommend this place for your eye care needs. Everyone that I have dealt with has been very friendly and efficient and what they do!

Update on Service, WV Eye center was Excellent, but recieved a final bill 4 months later from the Charelston Surgical Hostpital where Surgery was done for $685 an UNEXPECTED bill, as WV Eye center was in my network the Charelston Surgical hostpital was not. Was not given a Choice of a Hostpital that was in Network of my Insurance. Should have been informed and given a Choice of where Surgery can be done.

I have to say that wv Eye Conultants reminds you how doctors used to care in our younger days. They take time to listen to you. They care about what you say, they have compassion. And they are very curtious, efficent, friendly, and just over all are great place to know and trust them. Your not just a number or a dollar sign to them. Sorry but just speaking the truth. Dr. Potwin has been so patient with me. And had done everything in preserving my sight and helping in everyway to improve it. I see better now then ever. And truly that says a lot considering that I was born with a right lazy eye. Which is legally blind. And I can see better out of my left eye than I ever could before. And I must say there was a terrible fear of me loosing my sight on my only good eye that I had. And Dr. Potwin did not give up until it was corrected. And as I said I see better now then ever. Matter of fact just seen him today. April 11th 2018 my sight was 20/25 as said before born with lazy right eye. But left eye had never been this good. Thanks to Dr. Potwin and his wonderful staff.
