My elderly father recently developed vision problems, and asked me to schedule an appointment to his Ophthalmologist in Charleston. After calling to set up an appointment, I was told his records hadn't been retained due to multiple years between visits. I asked them to schedule him anyway, but, since they considered him a "new patient", he would have to wait over 2 months to be seen. After I made the appointment, I called another Ophthalmologist (whom my father had seen in the past) to inquire about a more prompt consultation. Again, they told me it would be somewhere around the end of Feb-first of March before they could see him. I then called Dr. Tarajki's office. I told them my father's age and new vision problems, to which they said he needed to be seen relative quickly. They worked him in to their schedule(less than 2 weeks), and was recently seen. My father was relieved to find out he needs a quick procedure to correct his vision. Thanks to Dr. Tarajki and his staff for working him in, and for treating him and my mother with great respect!! 5*!

The wait times can be a little long, but that speaks to his popularity. Dr. Tarakji is a fantastic doc, and is very good and caring with kids. He has very specific requirements for conduct, but you can tell he really cares and takes their sight seriously. Despite the wait times, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I have been a patient there for more than 2o years and my parents go there as well. He is an excellent Doctor. He has performed surgery on my Dad's eyes and will soon be working on my Mom's. As other reviews have stated, your visit may take a while as he handles emergencies as well as regular visits. He is worth the wait. I highly recommend Dr. Tarakji.

He is an amazing doctor and prevented my daughter from going blind. She loves seeing him and he never is rude with us or mean towards her. He has helped my family for years and is a great doctor with an amazing bed side manner.

He is a wonderful Doctor but if you don't like to wait find another doctor. They book several into one time slot I think. He does not have the best "bedside" manner but he is polite and very knowledgable. I would give him a 5 star if it were not for the wait!

Dr. Taratji is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. I took my son with special needs and he was great with him. Of course he she be great with over 35 years experience.

He has taken excellant care of my family for many years. He performed surgery on one of my childrens eye and did excellant work. He explained in detail the work that he had performed and called us over the weekend to check on our child. He has performed examinations on my eyes for decades and fits me with my contacts and glasses. I refer him to my friends and family. I thank him for caring eveytime that i see him.

Great doctor other than the long wait. Especially when you have little kids and they get restless so that's a pain

Dr. Tarakji is a wonderful doctor. I took my son to so many doctors who couldn’t find what was causing his eye problems and Dr. Tarakji found the problem on the first visit. The wait is a little long but it is worth it.
