Reviews of Works Progress Cooperative
I love working at Works Progress. It's welcoming, fun, and dog friendly. The decor mid-century modern quirky. The location is great and they have meeting rooms that are easy to reserve to meet clients in. I love that they have monthly member lunches. Jessie & Marnee are so helpful and great to work with. Highly recommend. Come check them out!
I've been renting a desk at Works Progress for over a year now. This is the third coworking space I've been a member of in Seattle and it's definitely my favorite. WP has a great mix of people spanning many different careers, including technologists, lawyers, and nonprofits. Everybody is friendly and considerate in the shared spaces so it's easy to get into the zone and get work done. The owners have very high standards and are almost always on premises so problems are fixed immediately, and they're always making improvements.
Works Progress has been a wonderful working space for me. The friendliest staff, who tries to accommodate everyone's needs! Relaxed but professional atmosphere - not too fancy and not too homey. Flexible desk spaces, all-u-need office supplies, 2 conference rooms (a big plus), comfortable kitchen, nice people.
My favorite co-working place in Seattle. It's shocking how many of them can't provide my 2 basic requirements:
1) Parking. I live 25 minutes from any public bus lines, so I really have to drive.
2) Enough phone booths and/or meeting rooms so that there's always one free. I do a lot of video meetings.
Works Progress has plenty of parking, 2 meeting rooms, 2 phone booths, and other spots that can be used for a videoconference in a pinch (couch in the lobby). They are also a great deal (much cheaper than most others), and they're easy to get to (close to the I-5, not nearly as much traffic as anywhere downtown). And the Greenwood area actually has IMO better lunch options (good burrito place, Mr Gyros) then the places I previously worked at in Fremont and Ballard.
Finally, the people who run Works Progress are genuinely nice, and the clientele are too. I don't want to hang out in a "startup incubator" atmosphere at the Hub, etc. I'm not trying to sharpen my elbows and expand my rolodex--I just want a mellow place to work, thank you very much :)
The space is good--a mix of one newsroom-y cluster of desks, that has a busy work energy, and then one very spacious room with a large kitchen and a few work spaces that's usually almost empty. The contrast is really nice to have when you need a chance of pace. The meeting rooms are spacious and nicely appointed.
The give you free snacks! And you get your own coffee mug with your name printed on it on top of their cute logo after a year's membership.
Just stopped by for my free trial day ~ Cute retro decor, ridiculously friendly and welcoming staff. Great amenities ~ good kitchen, plenty of little rooms, extra monitors and keyboards, etc. When i found my mouse was broken, the woman at the front desk (the co-founder, i think) offered me her own. Excellent drop-in prices, quiet without being lonely and... parking spots! Hallelujah!
Works Progress is a great place to work! I've been a 2-day-a-week member for almost 2 years now, and I find it an ideal spot for getting out of the house and being productive. Jessie and Marnee have done an amazing job making the environment friendly and laid-back, but also responding to member requests and ensuring people have what they need to be productive. They also host monthly potlucks and members events which is a nice way of meeting other people when you're not busy with work.
There are two separate areas, both with lots of windows and light. Even when lots of people are there it never feels crowded or noisy--just the steady hum of productive work. It's also in an ideal location, across from Fred Meyers and Bartell's for shopping errands and near quick and affordable lunch locations.
I checked out lots of other co-work spaces before joining Works Progress and feel very lucky that Marnee and Jessie set up this great space just at the time I needed it.
I shopped around for a coworking space in Seattle. While I picked Works Progress for convenience and nice overall feel, I'm constantly and pleasantly surprised. From attentive care from the WP staff, to a warm community, and a great sense I'm not just doing it all alone and renting a table for work. So glad I'm here.
After reviewing the many Seattle coworking options last year, in January I signed up for a desk at Works Progress. The first thing that attracted me was location: it wasn't downtown. It's on the north side of the city, on a busline that stops just one block from my house. The other compelling factors were the photos on their website: carpeting, warm lighting, and a dog! Now that I've worked here for almost a year, I can confirm that the warmth of my fellow coworkers reflects the warm lighting. The atmosphere is low-keyand friendly, yet serious and constructive at the same time. I've been more motivated here than at any previous workplace, including my home office. And I can bring my puppy to work.
I needed an affordable place to work that wasn't a loud coffee place or my own kitchen, and this place is perfect for my growing consulting business! Highly recommended for anyone who needs a quiet place to work, with a built in community of fellow co-workers.
Been renting a desk here for over two years. Not just a space to take your work out of the house or coffee shop. They also host social gatherings to get to know your "co-workers."
Thank you Works Progress! We held our first Women in Film/Seattle's The Second Tuesday meeting there last night, and it was a great space for it.
I only saw the large work area/training room, but it had a great atmosphere overall. If I lived closer I would consider this place.
Great work space that runs on wonderful people and a relaxed and welcoming work environment. I've had an excellent experience here!
GREAT coworking space for the North Seattle neighborhoods!
Good place just hope they let people work late night in future.
Has been an excellent place to work when I need to do work from home.
A real gem.
