This was a great observation deck experience at a lower price than the Space Needle. Crowds were much lower than the Space Needle which allowed easy ample access to the viewing windows. Due to the lower crowds it was also a quick easy wait for the elevator to go up. The elevator includes a video experience on the ride up. Once at the top views are available in all directions including the iconic view of the Seattle skyline WITH the Space Needle in it. Exhibits tell what you are looking at and some other local information. A small bar/snack bar is at the top along with the obligatory gift shop.

The best view of Seattle can be found here!
View from the 73rd floor, and a 360 degree view, was so breathtaking! There is a bar as well if one wants to indulge in food and drinks while enjoying the view. You can also learn about the history of Seattle as there are infographics and tablets kept around that highlight the story behind the place. We spent around 1.5 hours in the area, and it was totally worth the dollar spent. I’d suggest you go during a sunny day, there is a possibility of spotting the Mount Rainer. We couldn’t spot it as it was a bit cloudy.

This is a great place to visit. I highly recommend this over the space needle. It is taller than the space needle and gives history lesson with great views while up at the top. They also have a bar which has more selection than the space needle. Also the price for entrance is significantly cheaper than the space needle. Get more bank for your buck. Ditch the space needle and come here.

Did the sky observatory here. It was a pretty nice experience. There was a little bar and cage at the top. Although I will admit I thought we'd be at the very top of the building with no roof instead simply just being at the top floor of the building but still a good experience. Although thier gift shop isn't really the greatest.

The Skyview Observatory was incredible. Loved in the city for years and finally decided to check it out on Super Bowl Sunday. Perfect weather and the observatory was practically empty which meant we could take our time, enjoy the view and take lots of pictures. The food at the cafe was good - we had a voucher for $10 credit for buying the upgraded tickets and hlrecie Ed a discount on parking (only $2!) I highly recommend adding this to your list

Thought it would be crowded so we bought the priority lane tickets. It was not at all. Great views of the city. Flatbread at the cafe was good but the Caesar salad was just a little plastic box of lettuce with packets of dressing, croutons and parmesan cheese and not worth the money.

The Sky Observatory view was well worth the trip up to the top, and worth the time. The fun facts are a nice touch to the visit.

HIGHLY recommend checking out the 73rd floor of the Columbia Center! It’s taller, cheaper, and significantly less crowded than the Space Needle with just as amazing 360 views!
We went at 2pm on a Saturday, there was no line to buy tickets or for the elevator going up. The observation floor itself was not crowded at all and the Sky Cafe was selling drinks including alcohol and coffee. Staff was very friendly too!
General admission tickets were $25 (tickets to the Space Needle are $34). You can get the “all-inclusive” tickets ($45) which include a voucher to the cafe/gift shop and access to tables up against the windows. There was plenty of other seating though.
There used to be a Starbucks on the 40th floor that was free to access. However, it’s been moved down to the first floor and is not open on weekends.
Overall this is definitely worth the trip and is a great alternative to the Space Needle if you’re looking to avoid the crowds and save a little money!

Way better than the Space Needle. Went right at 12pm on a Thursday and it was empty. Comfy seats to rest and just enjoy the view or charge your phone.

The Columbia Center, formerly named the Bank of America Tower and Columbia Seafirst Center, is a skyscraper in downtown Seattle, Washington, United States. The 76-story structure is the tallest building in Seattle and the state of Washington, reaching a height of 933 ft (284 m). At the time of its completion, the Columbia Center was the tallest structure on the West Coast; as of 2017, it is the fourth-tallest, behind buildings in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
