Reviews of The Kensington White Plains

I had to wait until i was not emotionally attached. The Kensington did a great job with my parents. It was tough being an only child, working and being responsible for their care. Until the end, the Kensington hung in there with all my mood swings and my emotional attachments. Most of the staff were sympathetic and heartfelt. Like any facility, it is important to stay involved. All in all my parents felt at home as they were taken care of by a great staff and directed by great leaders...
Thank you Celina! I know you are surprised about this review. But you guys deserve it!

My mom has been at the Kensington since April. Following a series of strokes, she did several stints in rehab and lived with me for eight months. As each month passed, it was harder and harder for me to take care of her. She was miserable, and I was exhausted. It was difficult to be “mother and daughter” and I felt I was losing my best friend. Since she moved to the Kensington, she has made new friends, been welcomed into a warm and compassionate community, and has some purpose to her life. Recently, her condition got worse, and she had to be hospitalized. When she returned to the Kensington, everyone: housekeeping, maintenance, personal care aides, nurses and Directors welcomed her back in such a loving way. There is a culture of compassion at the Kensington that permeates the building. When I would visit my mom in the hospital or rehab center, I was always scared to leave at the end of the day because I wasn’t sure how they would treat her. When I leave the Kensington after a visit, I go home with a sense of peace, knowing that everyone in the building has my mom’s best interests at heart.

I have visited my wife many, many times at The Kensington, and the experience is very pleasant. From Linda to Suzie to the nurses ti the aides, they always greet u with a smile. I enjoy the visit with my wife as well as the staff.

Our family had no prior experience with assisted living residences until we moved our Mom to Kensington White Plains. She has lived there now for five years. The character and leadership of Executive Director Celina Watson captured the essence of what is truly important in a manager that runs a people caring business. Kensington's motto "we promise to love and care for your family as we do our own" is not just words but demonstrated by actions. Kensington is an excellent facility and partner to entrust the care of our aging parents. Thank you to Celina and the entire community for all that you do.

We moved to the fifth floor (advanced dementia unit) of the Kensington after years of managing a health team at home, at a time when I wasn't sure if a dignified and emotionally pleasant solution was available for our advanced medical and emotional needs. My partner was fragile, almost entirely nonverbal but extremely reflective of the amount of emotional input received. The Kensington was the only assisted living facility in NYS where my intuitive partner could receive potentially better care than under my supervision.
What is easy to see is the hotel-like quality of the decor, the good quality windows / window-sils and the sun-filled, spacious common rooms (there are several options to hang out). It was especially welcome (at my exhausted state) that we could choose not to move in new furniture as they had furniture available. (It would have been perfectly possible to bring our own furniture and some people do,) I was also relieved to notice the high variety and quality of food - always with several options, including several kinds of cooked breakfast and easier to chew meat options (shepherd's pie, meat loaf, juicy stews with mashed potatoes) for those on a not-quite-pure-y-but-almost-there diet. We were very attached to our home-brand apple juice, so we kept a supply in our cabinet and this choice was always respected, kept in the fridge and served with meals.
The face of the team is the administrative team who are in close contact with each other and are highly educated, personable and skillful. After the initial (efficient) moving-in period I tried to focus more on the floor team however, as it is the nurses and the actual caregivers who make or break the mood of the residents....and no matter the decor and the food, every institution is only as good as its team. This is where the Kensington really needs to be applauded somehow, as somehow there's a general sense of good will permeating through the members of the caregiving team, in a way that I've seen new, doubtful employees mellow out and become somehow better in a matter of days. The team members actually seem to be helping and advising each other, and there is a general sense of empathy among them. The employee morale seems high and the care team seems proud to be working there. There are breaks for the employees and cell phones are not allowed, so if there is some quieter downtime for team members, it is spent sitting down with each other, exchanging advice, or sitting down in the living room with the residents.
The Kensington has its own daily rhythm (meals, nap time, bathing times, evening movie time..) that Denice or the relevant floor manager takes great care to explain to new family members...the administrative team is sensitive to individual needs such as communication and they make a genuine creative effort to address those needs. While we kept our private doctor and hence have a limited insight into the primary medical team, we used some of their visiting doctors for podiatry and eye care who did a good job. The Kensington has a very capable nursing team - our full-time floor nurse was a permanent presence and a source of comfort around the clock. In case of specific medical concerns I suggest a specific initial conversation with the head-nurse to address those needs.
Finally I'd like to mention that I think the best testament to any institution is its own residents - interestingly many of them are former doctors or family members of doctors, likely having done their research. While these residents will all have their good days and bad, their general disposition tends to be quite serene. I witnessed several new residents (sometimes transfers from other institutions) move in a little bit up in arms and lacking in trust, expecting the care team not to care - those residents were met with patience and respect, and they mellowed out and adopted a more peaceful, happier attitude in a week or two, full of respect themselves and with an interest in life.
Thank you for your care.

My mother lived at the Kensington and truly loved to call it home. The staff were very compassionate to all of her needs. The ability customize her care in a resort like setting was paramount to our family.

The Kensington took fantastic care of my great-aunt for 2 and a half years. They made her feel at home and made the last years of her life very happy. She very much enjoyed participating in the group outings and making friends with the other residents. The Kensington staff were very attuned to my aunt's health needs and were very proactive in making any adjustments needed. They treated her as one of their own family members and I could sleep well at night knowing she was in great care. Thank you so much to the Kensington you truly are the best.

My father has been an Assisted Living resident at The Kensington White Plains for more than five years. There are many assisted living residences in the area, but this is a very unique and special place. First, it has the look and feel of a new, comfy, immaculately clean small hotel, with lots of windows, high ceilings, light colored walls and carpeting throughout, short hallways, outdoor sitting areas, and a beautiful restaurant-style dining room where residents sit where and with whom they want and choose from a large menu of very good food served by professional servers. Second, they do everything they can to make life easier for the residents and their families, including providing 24/7 nursing care and an in-house medical office so that residents don't have to leave the premises for routine medical exams, and arranging appointments and transportation for off-site medical appointments when necessary. However, what really makes The Kensington so special is the unparalleled quality of the staff and the excellent care they give the residents. The staff is warm, caring, friendly, professional and very well-trained to the Kensington's very high standards, and because it's a small community, they can give the residents all of the personal attention and assistance they need and deserve. Most of the directors and senior staff members have been there since my father moved in and they are not only genuinely caring people, but they are also very hands-on and extremely responsive and accessible to family members. My father feels loved and at home there and I take great comfort in knowing that he is safe and receiving excellent care. I highly recommend The Kensington White Plains.

The Kensington motto “We promise to love and care for your family member as we do our own” truly sums up the care at the Kensington.
From the initial intake evaluation by the head nurse, we could tell that the people at the Kensington truly do care about their residents. Mary Ann’s, the Director of Nursing, easygoing and relaxed manner put our uncle at ease and it was evident that she really understood our uncle and what his needs were.
When we moved our uncle into the Kensington, we were warmly greeted by everyone. And this warmth and caring continued for the five years that he lived at the Kensington. Everyone, from the director, to the nurses, to the care managers, and Norm, the excellent chef, and kitchen staff, all knew “Uncle Eddie” by name, and made sure his every need was met, even before we knew he needed something.
The Kensington is truly a remarkable assisted living facility that we would highly recommend to anyone who wants only the best care and living conditions for their loved one. Joan & Alan

I can't praise The Kensington enough for the excellent way the staff took care of my husband for almost 2 years. I really believe that he lived longer because of the caring staff who loved him. There is an incredible amount of kindness and affection expressed by staff members towards the residents. Norm, the Head Chef has been exceptionally helpful, including a memorable 49th wedding anniversary dinner. The staff not only showed kindness to him, but to me as well.
When I traveled to visit family out of state, I never had to worry about my husband, knowing he would get the best of care. I wholeheartedly recommend The Kensington for your loved one.

I am an LCSW who currently provides geriatric psychotherapy services under Medicare as well as private pay geriatric care management. My entire career consists of working with older adults and includes years working in facilities on both assisted living and dementia floors. Three years ago I moved a client of mine into the Kensington. He has a high acuity level, so my first inclination was to consider the Kensington based on their stellar reputation and capabilities. It was a gamble as I had not dealt with them directly before and only knew them by reputation. Since I am an independent provider, my client can be truthful with me about his experiences at the Kensington. My loyalty is to him, not The Kensington; if he was unhappy we would find another community. However, I am happy to report that he is delighted with The Kensington and feels it was a fantastic move for him. He thinks the service is excellent and he is very comfortable. I am comfortable as I believe that they are keeping him safe and healthy. Based on his feedback plus my own observations, I would not hesitate to recommend The Kensington again.

My mom has been a resident at the Kensington for over six years. Although the Kensington is a beautiful, warm and welcoming building, the real beauty is inside. The staff throughout the Kensington is compassionate, respectful, patient and do an incredible job of helping the residents. This is a wonderful comfort to our family.
For all of these reasons, we are happy to give The Kensington white Plains a five star rating.

A relative of mine resides at The Kensington, and we are very pleased with the care; it is truly is individualized. It is a warm environment, and the staff are all pleasant, friendly and welcoming. The nursing staff are attentive yet not intrusive. Residents have different types of disabilities and needs, and The Kensington caters to whatever need a resident may have. The maintenance staff are always working to keep The Kensington clean and tidy; it is extremely well maintained. What makes The Kensington so special is their direct care staff who are hands-on and usually have a smile on their face.

Our mom is a resident of the Kensington, and we are thankful that she is in this lovely and special residence. Our mom likes the Kensington because she finds it comfortable, clean, well maintained, and that it has a homelike atmosphere. And also the staff there is warm, caring, professional, friendly, and cheerful.
Compare to the various assisted living facilities that we had visited, the Kensington is the best.

The Kensington earns its 5-star rating due to its first-rate operation. A truly beautiful environment impeccably maintained, The Kensington is a safe and welcoming community where health issues are closely monitored. As "charter residents" residing on the Connections memory care floor, my parents have benefitted from the wealth of activities offered to keep them engaged and stimulated. So many of the staff, including the nursing team and management, distinguish themselves by their warmth, caring, and concern for residents as well as continual communication to residents' families, affording them peace of mind. Thank you, thank you!

My siblings and I are so fortunate that we could get both of our parents into The Kensington White Plains. They really do care about each of their residents. The excellent care teams worked hard to keep us connected to our mom and dad even the during the worst phases of the pandemic. Now that many restrictions are lifted, we have had regular in-person visits, which are so very important.

As a Geriatric Care Manager, I know how important it is to understand your choices when transitioning from home to a senior community. The Kensington has consistently been able to provide the optimum balance of independence and care to so many of my clients - all within a graciously appointed environment. Knowing that the Kensington provides an enhanced level of care for those who require it, helps reduce the worry of an eventual nursing home admission. The staff are friendly and courteous, and the Executive Director, Celina Watson, maintains an open door policy and takes an active, caring, involved role in the well-being and quality of life of each and every resident.

we moved my Dad into the Kensington a little over a year ago and moved my mother in 5 months later when an apartment opened up for the two of them to be together. They both came from another assisted living facility which was a constant nightmare for over two years.
The Kensington has been nothing but a blessing. The staff are professional, kind, respectful, friendly and always happy to help no matter the situation or the time of day.
The facility itself is warm and welcoming and well maintained. While nothing is 100% perfect, I can't say enough about how superior the Kensington is in every way.

We felt that the Kensington was an exemplary place for our mother to be taken care of for the last two years of her life. The space is beautiful, welcoming and cozy, but most importantly, the staff are incredible. Every person working there - from the aides, the nurses and care coordinators, to the kitchen and dining room staff, to the concierge and custodial staff - all seem to really like and enjoy older people. They were caring, respectful, and thoughtful of their various disabilities, and challenges, and we always had ease of mind that she was being well taken care of in every way. When we would have meals with our mother, the waiters and waitresses were wonderfully accommodating and seemed to know all of her needs and preferences. The front desk staff were always kind, cheerful and solicitous of residents and family members alike.
When our mother was no longer able to make calls or pick up the phone, the nurses and aides were helpful in responding to our inquiries and always keeping us aware of her condition and situation. When our mother needed hospice care, they seamlessly incorporated the Hospice staff into the the Kensington care program. It made the dying process so much more peaceful for our whole family, and we were able to spend those last months being present with our mother rather than always worrying about care and logistics.
Thank you so much to each and every one of the staff at the Kensington! We could not have asked for more.
Sincerely,
The Family of Rita Reuben

Wonderful place and excellent staff! A loved one has been a resident at the Kensington in White Plains for a couple of years. We are very pleased with the management, nursing team, caregivers and staff in all functional areas. Many of the team members go above and beyond regularly to care for residents, keeping them involved in activities and patiently showing them warmth and kindness every day. When we have surfaced an issue, they are responsive, communicate well, and work to resolve it. The food is very good and they endeavor to be creative with meals. We looked at several assisted living facilities in Westchester before selecting the Kensington...it was a good decision. It really feels like home, and it gives us peace of mind to know our loved one is happy, safe and in good hands there. Thank you for how much you care...it shows.

I have had the privilege and honor of playing music and entertaining the residents at The Kensington White Plains on many of occasion. The Kensington is absolutely stunning in aesthetics, however more importantly what strikes me every time I am there is the staff! So professional and yet so personal, loving and caring at the same time. There is nothing forced . I have spent much time speaking to and getting to know many of the wonderful residents there. So many incredible people with amazing lives and stories to tell. The smiles on both the residents faces as well as the staff says it all. It is truly a blessing that both The Kensington White Plains exists as well as it's staff! There is no comparison to the Kensington! Keep doing the selfless important work you do. It makes all the difference.

The warmth and caring that is evident at The Kensington, really makes it feel like home for the residents. The "residents" are seen as family, and indeed that is how they are cared for. This is evident from the Director, right down to each and every caregiver and employee. Everyone is known by name, and their likes and dislikes, and preferences are all taken into account in every aspect of the day. The Chef and the dining staff is amazing, making the residents look forward to each meal. We felt the special atmosphere of the Kensington as soon as we walked in, and we knew immediately that this was the right place for our loved one.

I moved my great aunt to The Kensington in September 2018. The experience that I’ve had with the staff at The Kensington has been nothing short of amazing! This is the second facility that I have had my aunt move to and the difference between The Kensington and her previous facility is almost night and day. The attention that my aunt gets and the attention that I get about my aunt and her activities is amazing. They let me know when she has doctors appointments and what the results are from the testing. Most of the time the doctors are at the facility it’s self so that my aunt doesn’t need to leave to see a doctor outside which is incredibly helpful since she is wheelchair-bound. The staff is so warm and And so helpful and so solicitous. I really can’t say enough good about The Kensington. I highly recommend The Kensington!

When our family was searching for an assisted living residence for our parents over two years ago, we focused on cleanliness of the place in addition to top quality care and availability of on-site physical therapy facility.
We have not been disappointed so far. Kensington White Plains is very clean and visually appealing, providing a very warm, comfortable and, with its mid-size, an intimate environment for residents who are looked after by a caring staff. The Kensington mission statement of caring for our family like their own is taken to heart and put into real practice. It is a well-managed operation under the leadership of Executive Director, Celina Watson, who is a very warm and approachable person with an office right in front of the reception area. Her empathy and understanding in addressing resident’s individual needs and challenges help to lessen a family’s stress under difficult circumstances. Ms. Watson and her managers deserve kudos for running an excellent operation.

In October 2016 my father, Ted Morse became a resident of the Kensington. Then at age 95 he was alert, friendly and the same wonderful man he had always been. In May of 2016 he fell and sadly never walked again. After six months of rehab nearby, the Kensington became his home. My step mother visited him almost daily as she remains truly independent and I saw him virtually every Saturday--or Sunday in football season. Moreover, the staff took care of my father's every need and as he aged he could physically do less and less. However the staff always allowed him to maintain as much independence as he could muster. They never let him feel impaired and he managed a smile until about a month before he passed away on 7/24/19 just a bit before his 98th birthday.
If you have an aging loved one I wholeheartedly recommend the Kensington. By the way Chef Norm is rather talented and the cuisine is quite tasty!
Lastly, when my father finally succumbed to many bouts of pneumonia the staff was particularly nice to me. Even at age 73 it's tough to lose a parent and I will be forever grateful to the kind people who watched over my father for over 2 1/2 years. Andy Morse

The staff at the Kensington are true professionals, providing my family member with wonderful care and consideration. They are always available to solve problems with great kindness. It’s the best assisted living in Westchester County. Bravo!
Marsha Geller
My father lived at the Kensington for over four years. I am sure his life was extended by their wonderful care. The caregivers that took care of him were very special people. Sharon and Klara provided him with exceptional care, on both his good and bad days.
The staff at the Kensington catered to his fussy food needs with finesse. Their kindness in helping him adjust to returning to NY after losing his wife was touching. Family was always made to feel comfortable.
At the end of my Dad's life, his care was kind and compassionate. MaryAnn and her nursing staff went above and beyond anything I could have asked for.
To quote my father " if you have to be somewhere, this is as good as it gets".
Victoria Lowe
I feel lucky to have worked here for the past few years. The staff members are some of the most caring and compassionate people I’ve ever met, and they treat the residents as if they were family. I would recommend the Kensington to anyone looking for an assisted living residence for their loved one, they will receive exceptional care!

I cared for my husband at home for six years after he fell and broke his hip. The fall and rehab in a nursing home hastened the decline of his memory. He began to use a walker. I knew that I had to prepare for when I could not care for him alone. I saw an elder care lawyer to explore my options. I engaged a home health care aide for 5 days a week. When my husband suddenly could not get up from a chair and walk to the bedroom, I realized that home health care would be impossible to sustain.
Fortunately, I had done my research and visited several assisted living facilities. I was ready to act, which I did, by calling The Kensington in White Plains. They were totally responsive and fast tracked my husband's move so that we accomplished it in nine days, starting with their nurse coming to our home to assess my husband, which was critical because transporting him to White Plains would have been difficult.
Today, after two months at The Kensington, my husband is enjoying an enhanced quality of life that I could not provide for him at home. His personal care is impeccable and his room is clean, bright and inviting. He is happy. His transition to life at The Kensington was seamless. This is because the staff is well-trained and genuinely caring. There is a culture of professionalism at The Kensington. The memory care director told me she was available 24/7 for questions. The caregivers are so sweet, polite and loving to all the residents and their relatives. One is always asking, "Are you all right, do you need anything?"
My husband is happy because he is always engaged in activities and has people around him. There is music, trivia, movies, art and poetry. His walking has improved with their excellent physical therapy. There are piano and guitar concerts. And recently, there was a trip to an art museum, which he really loved because he is an artist. The staff knows this and includes him in art projects as much as possible.
The decor at The Kensington is beautiful and well-maintained with pretty colors, flower arrangements and elegant furniture. The dining room, where I take my husband, "out to lunch," is like a restaurant. I know that I have done the right thing for my husband, and for myself. I could not have kept up the stressful life I was leading as his caregiver without dire consequences to my health. I am now free to continue my life knowing that he is in a great place. When people ask me why I chose The Kensington I say, "Because it is the best."

So much of the world is unpredictable these days and the physical health and mental challenges of advanced age make it all the more complicated and uncontrollable. The experience of having both parents live at the Kensington has been reassuring and comforting despite these challenges and these times. My family knows that mom is well attended to with the extra care she needs and that dad is given the opportunity to age into his evolving circumstances with dignity and every degree of independence he craves. It continues to be a blessing that The K's mission is to care for our parents like they would their own.
Steven Wolf
We moved my Dad to the Kensington in April 2021. The experience for him and our family members has been world-class. The staff members, Susie, Celebs, Donna, Cosme, Dominique,Patricia, Linda- I could go on and on. They make the experience outstanding, because they truly care for our Dad.
Laura Balsam
My mother was at the Kensington and had been there since October 2018.
The people there are great! I don't know how they are so patient and so nice but they are.
The one time we had an emergency that required a bathroom cleanup they were there in 10 minutes. They were thorough and I was amazed.
The food is pretty good, not excellent, and there is a fair amount of choice.
They are licensed to do a lot that most assisted living facilities are not. Including wound care and medicine by IV. Otherwise if your loved one falls and gets a wound the assisted living facility has to send them somewhere else for rehab until the wound is gone. This way they never have to leave the building .
Over a two week period They have 14 kinds of doctors have office hours within the building. They also provide physical therapy in the building and a beauty salon.
My mother recently died and the people there were great. They were able to handle hospice in the building in the room she was in so she wasn't disoriented.
The staff was extremely nice, even at the end when caring for her was very difficult. After she died the staff expressed concern and they really seemed committed to her.
I cannot imagine a better place for her to spend her final years.
Alice Lee-Sciurca
My Mom was one of the first residents at The Kensington. My family and I felt she was well cared for in her last 7 years. The staff, friendly and accommodating. The community has a warm and welcoming feeling when you walk in. Nice location in Westchester County.

My mother was part of the Kensington family for over 5 years.
The care and love she received from this "home" was like no other facility i've ever encountered. With my mother the caregivers, nurses and administration worked as a team, displaying the most extreme patience and care in very sensitive situations. This is the kind of environment you pray to find ,a place that will allow you step back for a second and trust
the expertise of these most wonderful people...

Grateful to The Kensington, and most especially their observant managers and hard-working, caring and competent staff, for providing superior and loving care to our mom in their Memory Lane unit. The facility is clean and welcoming; no need to announce yourself before visiting. It is a warm and reassuring place. They do what they can to put residents at their ease.

My husband has been living at The Kensington since February 2012. I visit him about 6 days a week. I have always found the staff to be very caring and helpful. Management is also very good. The Director Celina Watson is always available. I'm very happy with The Kensington. Evelyn Silver..

After 7 years at other Westchester facilities, I bit the bullet and transferred my mom to the Kensington 3 years ago. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The place is amazing. The love my mom gets from every employee is unbelievable. I have visited every facility of this type in the county and mom has resided in 3. This time there are no complaints - it’s the first time mom likes the facility and the staff. I chose other places because I thought this place was too costly but I now know it’s worth every penny. Mom is content. I can rest easy knowing she is well cared for. I even take vacations out of the country without worries. I don’t need to supplement care with private aides. I can stop in to visit anytime and I have never found an issue. Mom is always clean and her room is always presentable. The nurses are appropriately concerned and take good care of her medical needs and communications between nurses and caregivers are excellent. My only concern is that perhaps mom loves her aides more than she loves me!
I have no doubt that the Kensington is the best!
Nicolette Forgione
Highly recommend! The facility is beautiful and very clean and well maintained. The staff is exceptional and so kind and caring towards the residents. They truly make the Kensington a great home.
Monica Stewart
I know the Kensington is one of the most elegant places I have ever come across. When you come in, it smells good, looks good, everything is kept just so, nice and neat. The care managers are all good and they work as a team. So I would recommend the Kensington in a second to any senior.
Richard Russo
I am a professional who owns a senior placement service (CarePatrol) and have been working with The Kensington for several years. I have placed many seniors there successfully. The care that they offer cannot be found at any assisted living in the tri-state area. Their business model is that they can offer the highest levels of care for seniors who choose to live in an assisted living or a memory care community. Their staffing ratio's and care that they offer is first rate. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for assisted living or dementia living for their friends or loved ones.
Ruth Hersh
My mother has been at the Kensington for about a half a year now. The staff are warm and welcoming, from the people at the front desk to the people behind the scenes. We are so grateful to the staff. The multidisciplinary team are skilled and thoughtful and professional. The aids are careful and thoughtful, professional, and loving. The nurses are experienced, responsive and kind. The young man who drives the van is deliberate and real, and goes above and beyond. The therapists and activities folks are energized and helpful. And, finally, the people who work in administration have been, and continue to be, responsive and communicative. We are so grateful and relieved.
Debbie Katz
We moved mom up from Florida for the last chapter in her life and it was one of the best decisions to have her at The Kensington where the quality of her care was second to none. There are too many to name by name since everyone there was AMAZING!!! I highly recommend anyone looking for care for their loved ones to look into The Kensington!
Glen Gilbert
There is no better facility of its kind. My mom spent the last two+ years of her life at the Kensington tended to by saints and angels cleverly disguised as administrators and staff members. They are the best. She lived out her life with the dignity and grace she enjoyed in her prime. While Mom suffered from Alzheimer's and, thus, was largely unaware of her surroundings, I was governed by the notion that if she miraculously awoke from her stupor, she would look around her and say, "Wow. This is really lovely." That's what the Kensington is...and much more.
Lorraine
The care the staff offers goes above and beyond any facility that our parents were placed. They have a multidisciplinary team that runs like a well oiled machine and have very good staff retention. Many facilities have high turnover but at the Kensington, all the staff knows your parent by name and respective needs. The facility is clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.
Connie Jones
My experience with the staff has been amazing. They really care about the residents and helping those in the community. I appreciate them for taking care of the residents during this pandemic. They have done an amazing job. They are an agency who really care. i appreciate them for that.

The Kensington White Plains has been a long standing customer of Ace Endico for more than a decade. Throughout our long standing relationship, they have proven to be one of the leading assisted living facilities in the nation.
As a full service wholesale food distributor, it has always brought us comfort knowing that The Kensington White Plains orders the finest products on the market. From the highest quality foods, dairy products, meats and fresh produce the industry has to offer to the highest quality cleaning and janitorial supplies available.
It has always been a pleasure knowing their clients are receiving the best care and attention an assisted living facility can provide and we are proud to consider them a part of the Ace Endico family.
Chris Freyer
It's impossible to put into words the comfort that I feel, and my family feels, with both Mom and Dad being cared for at the Kensington. Every staffer there really does treat our parents as if they were their own.
J Bourd
Let’s face it, putting a loved one in the care of strangers is not easy, especially when a declining memory makes them all the more vulnerable. After “interviewing” a number of memory units in Westchester, we landed on the memory unit within the Kensington White Plains. In sum, the Kensington WP does all the things that the other facilities promise to do but don’t. Their staff is tremendously dedicated—they consider the whole family and all the related issues that come with failing memories. The degree of care is visible and quite genuine, in our view. At the end of our visits there, we leave knowing she is in good hands and, even better, likes where she is. Can’t ask for much more.
Kathy Riordan
The Kensington is a unique Assisted Living like no other. The staff is exceptional as is the entire facility.
The level of care offered to it's residents is at a level like to other.

My wife and I moved my dad in to The Kensington on the 4th of July of this year. He had spent the 2 plus years prior at another facility that was good, but was no longer able to administer to his needs as several years of Parkinsons had left him unable to really move at all. The Kensignton has licenses that allow for 3 person transfers, meaning that up to 3 aides could join up as a team to help my dad move from his bed to his wheelchair, wheelchair to regular chair etc. Most assisted living places can only have 2 aides do this. I never knew there was even a distinction...unitl I found out the hard way. They also have a license to use a Heuer device, which is that compact hydraulic lift where a person is basically put into a sling, and lifted via and moved via machine. While these were 2 important factors in our decision to move dad there, it is really the people and the culture the make The Kensington a top notch place. It was less than 3 miles from my house, so I visited often, as did my wife. We never saw him in his room, he was always in a common area, either watching TV with a others, or playing a trivia game lead by one of the staff, or even joining in on a table side Friday Night Sabbath service, something he never did before. I don't have the exact figures, but their staff to resident ratio is high. Of course, if he wanted to go back to his room, he would have been brought there, but residents are encouraged to participate in life and living, and enjoy the company of others. it is a very inclusive place. The staff, from the people in the business office who showed us the various living accommodation options and helped us with the initial paperwork, to the nursing and medical staff to all of the aides who interfaced with and helped my dad, every day, all day, seem to genuinely love what they do, and the people for whom they do it. It's not just a job to them, it's an ethos, it's a mission. Dad passed away at the end of October. He was cared for and made comfortable by everyone there, and they stayed in close contact with us in his last days and were very informative and forthcoming with information during our visits at that time.
I wish I could give then an extra half star to make it 4 1/2 instead of only 4. The only reason keeping me from 5 stars is that after only 3 months, I feel I don't have enough time with them to allow it.
It is an expensive place, but no more so than any other high end private assisted living facility. In fact, I can name at least 2 other places in Southern Westchester that are even more. The service, staff and quality of life that it's residents are afforded though justify the expense. I recommend The Kensington and suggest if you are exploring this type of place as an option for a loved one that you contact them and go on a tour.

My Father has been at the Kensington for many years now. He is SO well cared for and loved. The staff is professional and knowledgeable while being kind, caring, loving, upbeat, understanding, , compassionate, accommodating, and eager to help me connect with my Dad even when they have so many responsibilities just in caring for each individual resident. I am grateful and inspired by the AMAZING staff from the managers, to the care workers, nurses, food services, recreation, entertainment coordinating, entertainers, family liaisons, Concierge’s, just EVERYONE. The TEAMWORK REALLY DOES MAKE THIS DREAM WORK!!!!
I HIGHLY recommend this facility for loved ones who can no longer care for themselves and need round-the-clock care and have medical needs such as administering meds and bloods taken to monitor sugar blood levels, etc.
The food is AMAZING and Norm, who is in charge of that aspect is BEYOND careful and adamant about safety, cleanliness, and creating an exceptional standard for all aspects of meals as food is a big hi light for our elderly loved ones. It’s a relief to know he is so dedicated to providing tasty and safe meals to the residents.
The staff helps facilitate FaceTime calls & Whattsapp video calls when I cannot be there with my Dad.
The pandemic has only confirmed for me that this facility goes above & beyond now risking their lives and their families lives by serving the residents they so eagerly and lovingly serve.
I don’t know WHAT I WOULD EVER DO WITHOUT THEM and feel beyond BLESSED to not have to find that out. I am FOREVER grateful & THANK THEM WITH ALL MY HEART for the level of care my Father is given. It is clean and beautiful and climate comfortable and there are many activities for residents.
Once I was hospitalized and they bought MY DAD to ME for a visit!!!!
From Celina-Executive Director, Denise in Memory Care, Norm in Food Srvcs, Susie-the patient-family Liaison, & Krystianne- I forgot her title because she is doing SO much to assist and seems to wear many hats!!! Linda & Yvonne & Patricia-Concierge’s, ALLLLL the careworkers-ALL the staff-too many to name- EVERYONE IS SOOOO AMAZING- ONE BIG FAMILY and I TRULY LOVE THEM ALL!!!

I visit this facility frequently. It is top notch with caring and attentive staff. It feels very welcoming when you come in and I like that since I live in Westchester it is easy to travel to by bus or train. If you take the train you will be about a mile from the facility but it is not difficult to get from the train station to the facility by cab or walking if you prefer. The Kensington also has alot of social activities for the residents as well.

I have continually been impressed by the level of care The Kensington provides as well as the the way the care is delivered. The staff are friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to be accomodating; even in the most challenging situations!

I'm so lucky I found the Kensington's memory care unit for my "fussy" cousin. She kept on telling me how much she liked it there -- the room, the care, the food, everything about it. I live outside of New York and would always drop in unannounced -- I was never disappointed and ALWAYS impressed.
