Reviews of Five Star Premier Residences of Yonkers
Jack BronI recently visited Five Star assisted living. I have been to many assisted livings but at Five Star I experienced something unique.
The staff go out of their way to make each resident feel like they are part of a caring family. The body language, the way they are spoken to is in such a warm and caring manner. The entire staff knows each resident on a first name basis or how they prefer to be called.
Five Star is extremely clean with comfortable home furniture in the lounge areas. The corridors are immaculate as well.
It is truly an oasis. I would recommend this community for anyone living in the Tristate area.
Joanne TaylorMy company has provided home care services to residents at Five Star for over 7 years and I have had many occasions to interact with management, staff, and residents in IL and AL. The very competent staff is hardworking, caring and remembers to put the residents' needs first. The building is well maintained and the residents really enjoy the community activities.
It is a pleasure to work with the team at Five Star.
Sharon BobbinsThe staff is accommodating and the facility is well maintained. I was told 5 years ago that a new bus would be on site to take us to activities and errands and that is not the case. The bus we have desperately needs to be replaced. Additionally while the landscaping and grounds are well maintained the wooden benches and cushions need to be replaced.
Mitchell SilberMy parents lived at 5 Star for six years. I recommend it strongly. The facilities were kept in top notch condition, super clean and eating at the dining room was a very positive experience for my parents. There was a very nice social life at the facility as well. The food was diverse and good. Most importantly the staff was very attentive. Even as they navigated COVID they were communicative with family. Recently we had to move out of Five Star due to my parents' passing and Teresa was amazing in helping it to be a seamless process. Thank you Five Star.

Both aides - Myrna and Glennys who took care of my friend and resident at Five Stars were nurturing, caring and pleasant to deal with. Nurse Tony from the third floor had a wonderful and skillful approached to my friend who loved him dearly.
Teresa was so helpful and understanding to work with in her two roles as Business Office Manager and now Executive Director. She provided options that worked well for the good of my friend.
Thank you Five Star for your care, kindness, understanding and professionalism.

My aunt's rings, which had been placed in a drawer, were stolen from her apartment, when she was taken to the hospital. (It's the little things that count)
Morris CohenOn behalf of my entire family, I want to thank John Hunt and the entire staff at Five Star Premier Residences of Yonkers for all they did for my mom and our family.
Everyone there was extremely friendly,, helpful, responsive, caring and loving. From the greeters to the kitchen and restaurant staff to the repair team to the people who cleaned the apartments and the countless others that are to many to name.
In the main dining room, the food and selection were quite good. I even asked for a recipe or two from their chef.
The place is kept up beautifully and I think it is the best of its kind in the area.
Thank you again for making my mom's last two years the best they could be.

Norm AllenMy Mother had an excellent experience at Five Star over the last 11 years first starting out in Independent Living and then for the last several years in the Assisted Living side. My mother was very socially active and the Five Star provided a long list of events both inside and outside the facility. Its proximity to NYC and all the cultural opportunities there makes a big difference. All the nursing staff and aides are high quality. The social staff is active, friendly and on top of things. We got to know them all personally and also John Hunt the Director and they took care of us. Of course 2020 with the Pandemic was an extremely challenging year for the Five Star but they have an outstanding team and provided excellent front line support. I would strongly recommend the Five Star to anyone looking for an upscale active independent living or assisted living home.
