Reviews of Andrus On Hudson

My mom has been a resident at AOH since Oct.2022. The staff there are some of the kindest people I have met. They truly care for and about their patients. I am there 3 out of 7 days per week. This allows me to see what really goes on. Although they are short staffed, they try to help me with my concerns regarding mom.

Mom enjoyed her stay at Andrus and loved the staff. The physical therapists worked with her to ensure she can go home. My family is very grateful for the care she received on the 4th floor.

I had a very pleasant experience at Andrus. The food was good and I was able to order some for my wife when she visited me. The staff was pleasant.

Andrus on Hudson was a perfect place for my uncle. We were comforted to know he was in safe & clean environment with attentive staff.

My mother was a resident for about 5 years. The first few were rough but Andrus turned things around the last few & care greatly improved.

Having to admit a family member to a nursing is a painful experience. But Andrus makes that decision easier. The facility is clean. The staff is friendly and always professional. I feel that my dad is very well cared for. I am grateful to the staff there.

Having to admit a family member into a nursing home is a big decision and never an easy one. This was especially true for me who had no idea how to go about finding the best one for my elderly father suffering from dementia. And to make things worse, I live over 2,000 miles away so I had to depend on friends and family for advice. I reviewed the Medicare site which provides a ranking of facilities and Andrus on the Hudson is ranked among the four-star group so I moved my dad to Andrus on the Hudson earlier this year and I cannot say enough good things about the staff there. This is a little smaller facility, clean, and has a small staff. The part I really like is they keep the residents active, get them up every day and out to Arts n Crafts, etc. The nurses there are very sweet and kind to my father, for that I am thankful. If you are actively involved in your loved one's care and visit daily you will see that the nurses are good, and you will get to know them as well. You can't pop in once a week and expect to see them catering to your loved ones every need and a doctor at their bedside. Doesn't work that way. It has been difficult during COIVID as a family member, but they have gone over and above the call of duty to make sure that my father has been accommodated. I understand that their management team is fairly new, but comes with great experience and I can see the improvements to the facility every time that I visit. Given the challenges of such facilities during this pandemic and shortage in staffing a lot of not only facilities like this one, but hospitals are experiencing, they exceed Nordstrom's in customer service! An exceptionally clean facility exemplifies the high standards they strive to maintain. It is a comfort to know there are truly caring people who are committed to caring for others. My thanks to all the staff.

The care and concern for our family member was nothing short of fanttastic, and beautful.

Well I'm not sure about previous comments about it being dirty and people working there being rude. My mom was there years ago because she broke her tibia and was there for rehabilitation. The place was immaculate, the staff were very polite and worked very hard to cater to all the patients. I would totally recommend this facility and hope that in the future if my mom needs to be in a facility, I would like for her to her to be here.

Visiting a close friend rehabbing post-surgery.
Very limited parking on downhill grounds away from Main entrance. Brief walk uphill to Main Entrance which was boarded up and under construction.
Signage was not well marked to alternative entrance. Could've used bolder sign and arrows thru halls to elevators as there was no reception.
Once on floor, good sized room was clean, bright and sunny with views overlooking grounds towards Hudson River in the distance. Wheelchair accessible bathroom in room was adequate, too. Helpful staff to direct you if you have the room number.
