Decent facility. The nurse Thomas is so kind and very attentive to his patients. He took good care of my family member even when they were difficult. I appreciate his and the rest of the staffs assistance and care during a tough time for our family. All the nurses are super helpful and really made a difference during my grandmother's stay.

Hello!! I would like to share a lovely experience that brought me to tears!!! You see on Oct. 26th I took a bad fall and was rushed to the nearest hospital which was baycare in saint pete!.I spent 16 days there due to a severe broken femur bone splattereed!! 💔 along with my life being shatttereed!!!!shattered!!!!! But today due to three of the best staff I had just in one day!! I received great Pt, and nursing service from quite the gentleman, Samuelle!!! And a great shower and fresh linens from Matilda and Daisy!!!!! DAISY scrubbed MY HEAD GENTLY WITH AN AWESOME SMELLING CONDITIONWR BECAUSE MY HEAD SAT FOR 16DAYS AND NITES IN A HOSPITAL BED AND WHEN I GOT TO HOLD THE SHOWER HEAD MY TEARS STARTED ROLLING DOWN MY FACE!!! Like most Nursing Homes, none are perfect and the challenges that the employees face in this industry are challenging. With that said, I am impressed by how organized they have been through the Covid Crisis and I see a change in the center with staff and appearance. I understand the struggles in Healthcare and the effort is much appreciated.

After a fall, my husband's mother stayed in STR for eight months. A fantastic experience! The staff is so caring and built a beautiful relationship with her. If anything needs to be addressed, staff is very receptive. Facilities are clean and most areas have been renovated. We are fortunate to have this facility in South Tampa.

I am a patient at Gandy and everything was good until Friday, July 5th and Saturday July 6th. I have an infected knee caused by a knee replacement. It is very dangerous and IV antibiotics are essential to fight the infection.On Friday night they did not give me my night anti biotics(I get it twice a day)which can't happen. It is Saturday night and it is almost 12am. I still have not gotten my night does of IV antibiotics. I have asked at least 3 times and was brushed off by the nurse. The only reason I am at Gandy is for the antibiotics. If the infection isn't killed the consequences are catastrophic. It takes 5 minutes to hang a bag. I never complain but my health is at risk and they act as if they don't care. I realize that this is a very negative review. I have never written a negative review before. I don't feel negative reviews are fair because so few people write reviews and the negative reviews are not specific enough to decide if it is a valid complaint. I tried to be as specific as I could so my serious concern did not represent my entire experience here at Gandy. Let me tell you about my overall experience. I arrived on a Friday and was met by a very welcoming supervisor, Marty. The hospital had not sent prescriptions for my medicine. She spent a great deal of time contacting their doctor and their pharmacy to get my prescriptions. I knew she was doing everything she could to solve my problem. Knowing somebody is working on your concern is all I expected. She kept me informed about every hour the progress she had made. I know problems happen. It is how they are handled that I care about. She smiles at everybody making all the patients feel a little bit better. I am terrible at remembering names. I can't mention everybody by name. The Physical and Occupational therapists were excellent. They knew my situation in detail and kept after me to motivating myself to do as much as my surgeon would allow. The color scheme in the room made me feel more motivated. It should be considered for the whole facility. I need to know how to administer my own IV at home. The nurses worked with me all week as did the occupational therapist and I am confident in my ability to give myself my own antibiotics. I hated to write the negative portion of my review. I decided I had to because of how serious my concern was. The antibiotics are the only reason I am here. Infections are a catastrophe and happen in only 1% of knee replacement surgeries. It was explained to me by my surgeon that without the antibiotics the worst case scenario was amputation of my leg and even worse death. It has me scared to death. I had emergency surgery on June 13th and until 3 days ago my wound was still open and discharging blood. That is a sign the infection is still present. Missing an IV and having my concern about getting my IV late Saturday night put my health in jeopardy. However, that is my only concern I had with Gandy Crossing. Ed Cyr

I have never encountered a more dedicated and caring group of people than those at STHR. The very carefully selected, far above average, group of individuals go above and beyond the field of healthcare, and are considerate and giving of themselves in order to help make the patients feel as supported and loved as possible. This is not only my opinion but is also my experience in being a patient of South Tampa Health and Rehabilitation since August 31st 2016 to present day. This facility does not deserve a four star plus rating. The facility and especially the staff require a five star plus rating all the way!! To the staff of STHR, Happy Holidays to You and Yours.
