Reviews of Timber Ridge at Talus

My parents moved to Timber Ridge this year after 55 years in the same beautiful home. It was a challenging time for them, for sure, but the people at TR went out of their way to make them feel welcome and included. This is a beautiful community - the views are gorgeous, the apartments are bright and spacious. Like all other retirement homes, things are tougher due to COVID but the communication and accommodation here have been excellent.

My mom recently moved into Timber Ridge after contemplating it for a few years. We worked with Mary Mallett - i cannot say enough good things about her and how she educated my mom and our family about all aspects of TR life.
Now that my mom is all moved in, everything she told us is true. It is a supportive environment, full of fun and interesting things to do as well as feeling very safe.
I enjoy visiting my mom and can see how much she also enjoys her new home.

We are in the process of moving my mom into Timber Ridge and I cannot say enough about the positive support and experience that we have had with the staff. The facility is beautiful and well-maintained, the amenities plentiful. We are looking forward to Mom's next chapter in her fabulous new home.

My dad moved to Timber Ridge a year ago and he could not be happier!
He moved from another upscale retirement facility but the differences between the two are vast. The setting is so much friendlier and inclusive.
The staff at timber ridge go above and beyond to make the residents welcome and cared for. There are so many opportunities to get involved whether it be with fitness, a hobby, book club, movies etc. The list goes on. Even if you are one to keep more to yourself, it’s just a very comfortable setting to be. My dad mostly just enjoys his beautiful apartment and the lovely restaurants he gets to dine in. The lodge like setting is very beautiful and he often sits down by the fireplace reading and drinking coffee.
Covid has of course changed things at Timber Ridge but again, the staff make every effort to keep the residents cared for and happy.
We worked with Jill in marketing and she answered every question for us. She is very genuine and really wants each resident to be happy .
It’s of great comfort to me knowing that if my dad happens to need skilled nursing care , it’s available at Timber Ridge And is a top rated facility.
I can highly recommend Timber Ridge Talus!

I had the opportunity to perform for the residents. The activities crew did such a great job on putting the event together to make it enjoyable to all who came. My band loved seeing a packed dance floor of residents (some with limited mobility too!). A few guests commented that they have not danced with their spouse in years. It was a true heart warming night!

It’s been a great experience for my Dad so far at a challenging stage of life. The facilities are top notch and the staff is super friendly and always looking to help. Really happy we found Timber Ridge!

We recently moved our mother up to Timber Ridge from Portland, OR. Both her kids live in the Seattle area and it was time for her to be closer to us. The process of buying at Timber Ridge was extremely smooth and working with the Marketing team was a delight. They were very proactive with responding to the millions of questions we had and were patient with us as we made our decision. My mom has lived there for just over 2 months and she is so happy. She has made many new friends, participates in so many activities, attends concerts, does crafts, enjoys the happy hours, works out in the fitness center, etc...all of which makes our family so happy for her. The decision to move to Timber Ridge was one of the best she has ever made. We love having her so close!

The Marketing Team at Timber Ridge is the most genuine, caring group of individuals I have encountered in 10 + years of Housing Advisory for seniors. They give as much time and attention as the potential resident needs and wants, to feel comfortable about their moving decision. There is never sales pressure, because the beautiful community sells itself. Anyone would be fortunate to call Timber Ridge their home.

I recently toured Timber Ridge at Talus with my mom. I was so impressed! The setting is beautiful and relaxing; the location is perfect being minutes away from downtown Issaquah as well as I-90 access. We toured several different floor plans and all were well-appointed and my mom would be happy in any of them. I especially liked the east-facing units solely for the view, but the west facing had a forest-like ambiance which we also really liked. We loved the amenities that Timber Ridge offers and we even stayed and enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the restaurant. Overall, I'd highly recommend TR at Talus and am hoping, when the time comes, my mom chooses it as her next home!

You have reached an age when you should be pampered and pleased everyday and Timber Ridge at Talus is like a lodge in mountains where you can receive that pampering. The staff are outgoing and always willing to assist with a smile. Morning sunrises are fantastic and amenities abound with a variety of choices for dining. Fitness facilities with pool and hot tub are great. The residents are friendly with ready smiles (when not wearing masks). Resident friendly activities are available for you to partake ranging from hiking to classes on all kinds of subjects. The residents are organized around their Resident Council which works with a great management staff. If you are ready for a change of pace and more freedom, with a little caring being provided, then Timber Ridge is for you. Check it out.

I want to commend the Marketing Team at Timber Ridge. They’ve been unfailingly generous with their time and expertise, answered our multitude of questions and addressed our concerns over the course of several visits to Timber Ridge. There’s never been pressure of any kind to make a decision and, instead, a genuine respect for our needs and our time frame. In the course of our search for a CCRC, we’ve visited two or three other facilities in the Seattle area and in our opinion, none compare to the magnificent location and architecture, abundance of activities and overall quality of life that Timber Ridge has to offer. This isn’t just my opinion, it’s echoed by ex-neighbors already living at Timber Ridge. Their opinion: ‘best decision I ever made.’

We’ve been visiting and researching retirement/caregiver facilities for several months in the Seattle area. Our visit to Timber Ridge in Issaquah stands out -- the Marketing team was very attentive giving us an in-depth tour of the facility and answering our many questions, as well as covering several things we had not thought to ask! The facility itself is very new, modern, and clean and offers many amenities. Our second visit included dinner – delicious! - with some residents who also showed us their very comfortable apartment. Everyone we encountered – marketing team, receptionists, restaurant wait-staff and residents were very friendly and welcoming. Timber Ridge is definitely our choice for our future home.

After almost 4 years at Timber Ridge, we agree this was one of the best decisions we ever made. “Highlights” are:
• Great Quality of Life – very comfortable apartment, excellent facilities, and a strong Plant Operations staff.
• A wide range of activities and opportunities for body, mind, and spirit.
• Excellent Food & Beverage service with 4 venues and many menu choices. We can always find a very satisfying meal.
• Amazing Residents: well - educated, well - traveled, successful, and a continuing zest for life. It’s a pleasure to be part of the group.
• Well-trained and impressive staff focused on Resident support.
• For higher levels of health care, Briarwood is evaluated as “5-Star”. Our own experience attests to the quality of care provided.
• Finally, Management at all levels is excellent, with effective policies, communications, and clear dedication to the Residents. Ongoing transparency and coordination with the Resident Council and Committees work very well!
Timber Ridge’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic is excellent. Many changes are in-place such as meal “home-delivery” (offering an average 7-8 Lunch dishes and 8-10 Dinner Entrées); mask, “social distancing”, and visitor restrictions. Policies are based on best guidance and clearly communicated. We look forward to a time when conditions can allow relaxation, but we know of no place that would make us feel safer.
BOTTOM LINE: We are very happy to live in Timber Ridge and strongly recommend it to Prospective Residents!

We've been looking for a Type A CCRC in the Seattle area. We'll be ready to move into one sometime in the next few years. Now we know it'll be Timber Ridge at Talus! We had a wonderful tour this week and full info from Pam Rubin, Residency Counselor, and have signed up for the wait list. Timber Ridge is a beautiful property, with all the amenities one could wish for. We are very much looking forward to joining the community. Thanks for being there, Timber Ridge!

My husband and I moved to TR 9 years ago from Washington DC. We had a son and two grandchildren who lived out here, both of whom are off in other parts of the world pursuing interesting careers. Dick and I knew no one at TR, but residents and staff were friendly and welcoming. It wasn't long before we were deeply part of the Community, joining committees. We attended Resident Council meeting and held the role of President. Timber Ridge is a great place to live and make new friends.

I give Timber Ridge at Talus 5 stars after living here for 10 years. Beautiful Northwest architecture, great location , friendly residents, hard-working, caring staff, necessary transportation for medical and shopping trips, a variety of countless activities, assisted living, memory care, and life-time care. Really important--excellent food! A very busy, friendly, caring community that becomes what is special: Home.

I gave Timber Ridge a 5 Star rating because of a relative overall comparison made by visiting a number of area retirement communities & CCRCs over a period of 6 years. I have lived here 4 years am impressed with the socialness of the residents, dining, activities, and amenities.

Timber Ridge Has been my home for nearly 2 years and I couldn’t be happier. My home is a charming resort-style lodge surrounded by forest and Mountain View’s. We are very close to local shopping and medical offices and hospitals.
We have transportation to these facilities several times a week. We have several amenities; a Wellness center, pool ,fitness center all staffed with providers and fitness instructors. Are physical therapy department is the very best, especially in meeting all the needs of a senior population.
We have we have three restaurants with chef prepared delicious meals, pea patch gardens, bocce ball courts, and lots of outside decks and garden areas. We are a very active group with lots of activities, lectures and music venues.
I feel that there is a sense of community with all the residents, staff, and management who are always looking out
And taking care of each other. My transition from my single family home was very smooth and easy made possible by the sales staff. I can highly recommend Timber Ridge for anyone contemplating such a move. Tomette Copp

After first signing to come to TR in 2005, we did not move in as planned when it opened in 2008. My husband wanted more time in our home and his garden. We re-signed in 2013 and moved into TR May, 2015 and love it here. There is an abundance of activities; an active fitness center with a variety of programs; presentations by resident's and others on many interesting subjects, and lots more!
Our dining venues are excellent thanks to Chef Terry. All the staff here are warm, caring and do everything to help make our living here a pleasure. It's been great getting to know other residents, making new friends and keeping our 'old' ones! We are thankful to be living here at Timber Ridge and enjoying all its amenities.

I recovered in Briarwood following a Dec. 2014 surgery and was very well taken care of.
My wife has resided in Briarwood since April 2017 because she requires 24-7 care. Briarwood staff provide high quality service with a very caring personalized atitude.

I have lived in Timber Ridge for 10 years and I know we made the right choice. I am amazed how many new friends I have. I am delighted with the great variety of activites we have available. I am never bored. When my husband passed, many of the residents and the caring professional staff just wrapped me up in their arms and helped me through that difficult time. I will never forget that. I love living in this beautiful place.

Well over a year ago, my wife and I began our search for a retirement community, preferably one classified as a CCRC. Timber Ridge (TR) at Talus was the clear winner.
We are currently on the TR Wait List and look forward to becoming residents when the time comes. The building and grounds are first rate. Moreover, the caring, up close and personal attention of Jill White, and her staff, sealed the deal.

Wow, am I glad I found Timber Ridge at Talus. I am singing In an outstanding chorus, playing in a small jazz group and having the time of my life with wonderful neighbors: line dancing, yoga, Tai chi options as well as education classes and many exercise options. All this I would NEVER have had if I had chosen to stay in my own home.
