Reviews of Brookdale Admiral Heights

Brookdale Admiral Heights has been a wonderful community for my mom. The team is fully attuned to her needs and treats us with kindness and compassion, the living quarters are comfortable, the activities are FANTASTIC - between karaoke, puzzles with friends, storytelling, movie night, daily exercise class, brunch bus, book club, and now the garden club - she is never bored! Thank you to the whole team for enhancing my mom’s life, and mine. The executive director - and all team members - are fully responsive. All emergencies get an immediate response, and non-emergencies are handled within less than 24 hours. It’s a great community and I am very grateful for it.

My mom lived at Brookdale Admiral Heights for almost four years, and she loved it. She especially loved the social activities and was hardly ever in her apartment except to sleep, until COVID hit. During COVID, the staff did an excellent job keeping the residents safe. The reason we moved my mom recently was due to advanced dementia and other medical issues. I would especially like to give a shout-out to the very kind, friendly and helpful staff.

My 97 yo mom has been living at Brookdale Admiral Heights for just over 2 years. The first shout out is to all the folks there that worked so hard to keep the residents safe during the pandemic. It is an amazing feat that they were able to keep the residents healthy and w/o any outbreaks.
Additionally, when the vaccines were made available, they quickly got the community immunized. This speaks volume about their dedication.
Prior to the outbreak, Brookdale has consistently taken good care of mom. The dining facilities are very nice and the activities seem well geared to ppl of a wide range of ages.
Activities such as fitness and sing-a-long bus rides are something mom takes advantage of.
I have seen some turnover of good service providers, which I'm sure is common in this industry, however every caregiver that they've brought in has treated mom professionally and with respect.
There are a number of amenities available, such as laundry rooms, AV and recreational rooms and hair salon.
Close to shopping and restaurants if you have the mobility to get around.
As my mom's needs have increased, so has the services and subsequently the costs.
While I haven't checked since prior to move-in 2 years ago, costs were not cheap, but were comparable to some of the other facilities in WS.
Overall, I think Brookdale has done a fantastic job of helping mom at this stage of her life.

My mom moved in to Brookdale Admiral Heights in January 2020, just before Covid hit. We had looked at a number of different assisted living facilities, where my mom could "age in place", and receive increasing care as needed.
My mom's review: "I love it here. This is my home. ALL the staff are so caring and kind- all of them. I could have moved in with my daughter or son during covid, but I chose to stay here. Now that the restrictions are loosened, I am enjoying activities again, but of course still wearing masks and social distancing."
My review: This has been a wonderful place for my mom. The medical team and medical caregivers are especially appreciated, as my mom has had some ups and down with her health, and they are able to adjust to her care needs. The communication has been excellent, from the Director to the front desk staff, to the maintenance team. We appreciate all of them so much. The facility is always very clean, and the food is good. During this time of covid, the staff was extraordinarily vigilant, and there were no covid outbreaks, no small task for them!
The move-in process was super easy, and the month to month commitment is an attractive option so that you aren't locked in to any long term commitment.
I highly recommend that you go and visit if you are considering assisted living facilities for yourself or family.

The Vik Family requested help posting this review and when our families ask for help we all jump in! Here is the review:
Hello Dawn and Brookdale staff,
Hopefully we are now seeing the light as the end of the tunnel of the Corona virus. We wanted you folks (caregivers, administrators, staff, nurses and home healthcare workers) to know how well we think you did in keeping the virus in check. Your facility stands out in so many ways and we're so glad mom is there. She mentions the good meals, the friendliness of the staff and their ability to solve problems as they come up. She seemed to especially appreciate the after lunch treats during the times everyone was locked down in their rooms. Mom has no complaints and has said many times that she feels safer there than anywhere. We just want you to know how much we appreciate the sacrifices and courage of all the health care workers at Brookdale. You are very special! - The Vik Family

I am so glad we found this place for my 98 year-old father to live. He has been there four years now, and they have taken great care of him. Their Covid protocols have been excellent, and have kept him safe. I highly recommend Admiral Heights if you are looking for a caring place for a loved one who needs assistance.

The Sisters of Providence needed our support during COVID and provided a lovely letter of thanks.
