Reviews of Aegis Living Queen Anne Galer

We have a family member residing at Aegis of Queen Anne on Galer since last summer and overall, in spite of Covid, we’ve had a very positive experience.
The safe and supportive environment, daily program of activities and engagement opportunities has contributed to our loved one’s maintaining a significant level of independence and quality of life.
Particularly noteworthy is the activities program that schedules sessions throughout the day that include physical exercise & strengthening, mental engagement and socialization along with a cadre of committed caring staff providing daily support, food service and encouragement to our loved ones.
We find the location on Galer to be very convenient along with the short walk to the Kerry Park lookout over the city.

I received excellent service from Alicia who responded promptly to my inquiry for my mom who is 93. She was very accommodating and gave us a tour and personally connected us with other Aegis communities that also might be a good fit for my mom. She was professional and caring and provided a clear picture of Aegis philosophy and pricing structure. Ultimately we were able to find a great fit for my mom within the Aegis Communities.

I have had nothing but positive experiences since I began to research Aegis Living Queen Anne on Galer as a possible placement for my husband, who is recovering from a stroke and in need of memory care and rehab. Alicia, the Marketing Director, was so positive and welcoming, I felt a great sense of relief and calm, after being bruised by the vicissitudes of the American health care system. Aegis Living seems to have the philosophy that love and enthusiasm and energy can solve a great deal of problems and hassles when dealing with those of us in need of assistance with daily living. Jean at Concierge Care, Danielle, the RN, Nick and Chelsea and Mallory and Katie and Brooke and others whose names I can't recall at the moment, all have been so helpful and friendly and non-judgmental. I feel blessed to have found this caring community. The physical facility is gorgeous, also!

My brother John moved to respite care a short while ago. My experience with all staff has been outstanding. They are obviously a very caring and competent staff. I want to give an extra shout out to Alicia in marketing. She went well beyond her official job duties to make sure my brother’s move there was as positive as possible. Thanks Alicia for being such a caring professional. Bob Bowman

My mother has been a resident at Aegis Galer on Queen Anne in Seattle for the past 5+ years. Over the course of her time there her Alzheimer’s has progressed and she currently lives in “Life’s Neighborhood,” where she receives the special care necessary to manage this progressive disease.
Aegis Galer has become a true home for my mom. She is not only well cared for, she is respected and celebrated for who she is, even on her worst days. The staff has done an outstanding job of bringing out the best in her, and I can say with conviction that I trust them to do everything they can to help my mom live with dignity, joy, and a sense of belonging.
The program enrichment staff is excellent. They are creative and caring, and my sense is that they love what they do. Music, movement and human interaction are part of every day at Aegis Galer! These are the qualities that I believe make Aegis Galer stand out, and why I will recommend others to consider it as an option for a loved one.
As health issues have arisen during my mom’s time at Aegis Galer, the care staff has been extremely conscientious and responsive. They are strong communicators, and take the time to talk over any questions or issues I have had. Being a relatively small facility, in my experience the staff works very well as a team.
Obviously Covid has presented a huge challenge to all senior communities. I cannot say enough positive things about the extra miles the staff has gone to keep residents safe and stimulated, especially as they endured months and months of lockdown. Additionally, they did an excellent job of keeping families up to date on how they were managing the pandemic – logistically, but also about the many creative ways they kept residents feeling connected and engaged. We received regular email updates that were informative, but that also recognized the emotional stress family members were under given our lack of physical access to our loved ones. I visited my mom many times in the cozy outdoor area they created, and also spoke with my mom regularly via Facetime with staff support. What they did was above-and-beyond.
Aegis as a company is growing very quickly, and as a result there have been many changes in leadership during my mom’s stay there. While this can be disruptive, in my experience the transitions have been smooth and the talent they attract is very good. Aegis Galer’s current General Manager, Ebrima Gomez, is outstanding. He spends time regularly with my mom, and overall is very accessible both to residents and families. My two sisters and I are grateful for the care and life Aegis Galer has given our mom.

After 60 years of marriage and declining health of my husband, Zoli, we placed him at the Aegis facility at Galer. It was an adjustment for both of us, but I think, it was the right decision and he is there now for the last 8 months and I would like to say a few kind words about the people, who work there. Gomez, the General Manager worked with me and my husband during the Covid lockdown in a kind and supporting manner and he also understood and helped knowing my financial limitations to keep Zoli at Aegis.
I would also like to mention Sami, the Culinary Services Director, because of how she responds for all the special needs of her residents and Angeline, Care Director for always checking on Zoli's daily care.
Also, since I come to visit my husband almost every day, I would like to mention Jean, the Receptionist, for her everlasting kindness and help in any and always.

My mom relocated across the country and we placed her at Queen Ann Galer. I cannot say enough nice things about this place! The staff treats the residents with so much respect and love -it is amazing. Knowing that your -Mom (or Dad) is well- cared for, like mine was at Queen Anne Galer brought so much peace of miinwill bring you such peace of mind. My mother was so lucky to have so many people care about her well being in the last few weeks of her life.

My Pops, Ronnie Bryan is VERY happy with the place and with his Parkinson’s that’s saying plenty. It’s obvious, they are doing an excellent job with his needs. Duncan seems to run a tight ship and that needs to be the program to make this type of business work.
My family visits often and because we are all in sales, we would sniff out any Fake BS with lightning speed. Not the case, they are very attentive and display a sincere concern for my Pops well being. I recommend this place.
The food is fine by the way. If you are expecting a 5 star dining experience, then hit Rays Boat house. My Breakfast was delicious.
Keep up the Good Work!

This is an excellent facility. Stable and highly skilled leadership team, including the general manager as well as nursing, care, kitchen, and facilities directors. A very attentive staff. Lower level staff turnover is expected for this line of work so it’s no ding against them. Small enough to feel intimate but large enough to create a good resident community. Care is tailored to each resident. Easy walking in beautiful Queen Anne is a plus.
The main weakness is the food: less red meat and more fresh fish, veggies, and fruit are needed. Stick to the basics and let the fresh ingredients speak for themselves. So my rating is really a 4.5 and I’m rounding up.
The cost is high and worth it.

The main assets are the people that work there. All of them are patient and kind and upbeat, no matter what. And the place is very clean and they offer activities and services that are great. It's also very expensive, so you kind of expect this. What you don't expect is the low level of food. Not inedible, but not tasty. And they need more servers and cooks. A longish wait when there are only six or seven tables of people is not unusual. But the good things out weigh the bad by a long shot. If only the food was better, this would be a perfect spot.

The staff is amazing, they care for each resident as if they were their own family. The activity & music therapy staff are so wonderful & good at engaging all the residents.

My grandmother has been at Aegis on Galer for about a year. The staff is caring, patient and always happy to help the residents. The facility is beautiful, homey and comfortable.
