Reviews of Morningside of Belmont
Gretchen Cecere
My dad had a stroke and needed to quickly find assisted living. The staff at Morningside (Robin, Kristy, Mattie) were so responsive to our needs and preparing a place for my dad. They were quick to respond and extremely kind! Now that my dad is settled in I can breath and rest assured that he is being taken care of. I truly believe Morningside is a place of healing for my dad.

My mother lived at Morningside of Belmont, Nashville for nearly 4 years until moving to a memory care facility. She loved her home, her neighbors, and all the staff. As her memory failed, they were so patient and caring with her. I often had to call Morningside for assistance as I managed my mother's affairs from another state. The front desk and nursing staff were always, cheery, friendly, and eager to assist, and they ALWAYS followed through.
All of the staff at Morningside seem happy to be working there and you can definitely tell by the way they treat the residents. The food is varied, healthy and delicious, and the cafe staff warm and loving.
I appreciate each and every staff member and wish I could find a way to thank them all! Morningside's actual location couldn't be any better, within walking distance of a grocery and some nice restaurants, Belmont and Vanderbilt Universities, and right across the parking lot from Belmont Mansion. While I was visiting we often enjoyed strolling in the beautiful gardens there. I highly recommend Morningside of Belmont to anyone who is considering a place for their parent.

Recently, my companion and I visited Morningside of Belmont. John Marshal, Sales Director was incredible! John was very helpful and accommodating to our requests. We toured three (3) available apartments and have lunch. The residents have several options for each meal and we enjoyed our selections. The dining room is very appealing and has numerous windows for the residents to enjoy plenty of sunlight. Several residents introduced themselves to us and expressed their satisfaction with Morningside of Belmont. This is an older facility but it has been renovated and appears to be well maintained. We met several staff members and they interacted very well with the residents. We especially liked the activities options, interaction with Belmont University and transportation availability.
My companion has chosen Morningside of Belmont for his assisted living needs and will be moving soon.

My Aunt has been a resident since October 2019 but had to leave recently for intensive care at another facility. During her time at Morningside, she went through the construction updates to the building, a flu quarantine and Covid-19 epidemic. The staff always made an effort to be friendly, helpful and available whenever possible. Management kept her and her family informed of the changing government restrictions during the epidemic and made every effort to keep the residents safe. Hopefully the dining room will be open soon for everyone to enjoy again. The food was good, recreational programs were in place and other amenities were available (hair salon, crafts, etc.). For the money, Morningside is very reasonable compared to other places in the area.

Morningside has been extremely helpful. They helped expedite my other's move-in and also have helped to ensure that she's comfortable when we can't visit her during COVID times. I am particularly grateful for the help of John Marshall who went above and beyond to make the transition for my Mom possible. he is extremely kind and welcoming.

We toured many facilities around Nashville for my grandmother and as soon as we pulled into Morningside's parking lot, we knew it was the place to chose! We got a little lost with some road construction and called Morningside to get help with navigating our way. The front desk was so nice and helpful, and even stayed on the phone the whole time until we got there! They were so reassuring and that was our initial customer service experience of going above and beyond . Thank you! Looking at facilities can be exhausting fir caregivers and it's these "little" things that mean alot. When we walked in, the front desk was so genuine and kind. No sales pitches needed at this place as you can see the residents interaction with the staff at Morningside is all genuine and you feel right at home. We thought their pricing would be more as they are located in a beautiful area and right next door to Belmont Mansion! Also, the facility is near all the medical care. Great for visiting families too as so many options for restaurants, shopping, and walking. Morningside us in the heart of Nashville, in great area and you don't feel like your family member is way out somewhere and hard to get to. Thank you Morningside! We highly recommend them and their management and employees are so wonderful!

I'm not sure what facility Elizabeth is writing about, but it's certainly not the Morningside of Belmont with which I am familiar. My 98 year old mom has been a resident for over 18 months, and I could not be happier with the services she receives. The caregivers are courteous, the dining room food and servers are first class, and the cleanliness of the common areas as well as mom's apartment could not be better. The value received for the monthly rent is as good as it gets, and I continue to recommend the facility to anyone with a loved one in need of assisted living.

I have been so impressed with Morningside of Belmont. The facility is well kept and very inviting. There is a definite feeling of a home in a small community with gracious living and accommodating staff and professionals. The residents appear well cared for and happy. There is a peaceful, even joyful feeling when you enter the lobby. I did not think such a place existed.
My mother’s entry here had a difficult start from her previous location. At Morningside of Belmont we were treated with dignity and respect and genuine compassion. From our initial experience with Gennica Greenlee, a lovely, caring and very knowledgeable young woman to finalization of our paperwork by John Marshall, a consummate professional, who went the extra mile to make a very hard transition smooth, I felt welcomed and appreciated as part of their special community.
When my time to make this move happens, I can only hope this opportunity is available for me. Morningside of Belmont, I thank you.

We recently toured Morningside of Belmont looking for a place for my Mom. Everyone from the sales director to the front door receptionist and the residents were great! Our tour started out with lunch. We are all pretty picky about our food and I am pleased to say that the food was scrumptious! My Mom even asked for a to-go box. I would recommend Morningside of Belmont to anyone looking for a wonderful place to live.

We recently moved our mother into Morningside, and it could not have gone more smoothly. The entire staff was so helpful and friendly. It seemed like they all knew our mother's name within the first day! She needs level one care right now and is responding very well. We are hopeful that as she gains strength and adjusts she will be able to drop down to just assistance with her meds. I appreciate the fluid nature of care at Morningside and the ability to have our mother's needs met in one facility. This is our first experience with assisted living and I am very impressed! Thanks Amber and everyone there for making our mom feel so welcome.

My mother is an active 94 year old who retired from teaching at 92 when she began to suffer mild dementia. She has been at Morningside almost two years and the experience has been great, for her and the family. I have never, yes never, encountered a staff member ‘having a bad day.’ Mother loves living there, has made new friends, and Morningside is convenient for her old friends who visit. Recently, one of her best friends of 7 decades moved to Morningside. Of the many facilities we looked at for my mother, Morningside seemed the best fit and has proven to be a perfect fit.

I just had my 2nd experience moving a family member into Morningside of Belmont. Our recent move during COVID-19 could have been a nightmare, but the staff helped make it as easy and smooth as possible. Five years ago my mother-in-law moved into Morningside and I have come to know the staff as sincerely caring and devoted.

Almost a year ago, I moved my parents to Morningside. To our surprise, two weeks later, my mother died. The staff at Morningside has made what could have been a terrible transition, more positive than we could hope. From top to bottom, the staff has demonstrated their concern for us as we have been taking this next step in our lives.
Morningside has the potential to become THE intown assisted living facility, and upgrades are being made. Both Vanderbilt and Baptist/St. Thomas hospitals are within minutes. Physical therapy is in house. A nurse is on site 24/7. The Program Director has developed a relationship with Belmont University, which is located next door. Access is convenient by surface streets or interstate, and transportation includes the requisite doctors' appointments, etc., as well as weekly religious services and outings. An effort is made to consider all interests and needs.
All of this has come together to make our transition a good one. We appreciate their care, particularly during such a tough time.

Morningside of Belmont is perfect for those seeking assisted living with urban lifestyle. With two Universities and two medical centers in view there's lots of opportunity for enrichment - body, mind and spirit. There are a variety of activities on site or residents and the community to enjoy together and resident outings too. The food is great and so are the regularly scheduled evening entertainments to enjoy w/family and friends at no extra cost. The staff is Knowledgeable, friendly and caring which means that the residents are contented and relaxed- just as is meant to be at home. . .

I have been at Morningside for one year and it has been a game-changer I have lived in two other assisted living facilities that don't compare at all two morning Morningside has a very caring staff and a very proficient team nurses dining hall servers there is everything there that a person could wish for to have a complete life. There are places to workout by oneself a physical therapist and occupational therapist there are Bible studies several times a week there are drivers provided to go to doctors appointments shopping at grocery stores other types of stores proximity to Belmont and the Belmont singers is a treat location could not the better it is near Vanderbilt and Belmont and very close two outstanding Hospital such as Vanderbilt, Centennial.and st. Thomas Midtown . There are are multiple activities for the residents to participate in whether it is bingo. card games, happy hour, ice cream socials and birthday parties , and bible studies . When people come to see me they comment on what a friendly place and how accommodating being at. There has been a complete game changer for me. In for better or more fulfilling life then is provided at this assistant Assisted Living come and see for yourself. Have lunch on us.

My mother moved to Mornigside of Belmont six months ago. She was spending far too much time alone, and we were professionally counseled that she needed socialization. We were all apprehensive at first, but now she says “this really feels like home, I’m so glad to be here”. Nothing thrills our hearts more.
The staff is wonderful... friendly, attentive and kind.
My mother in law was a good cook and really enjoys the meals… there is always much to choose from on the menu. We enjoy the food too.
The activity calendar is full of good stuff, art, creative writing, exercise, book club, outings to restaurants & shopping, and plenty of music activities from Nashville artists, Belmont University students and resident sing-a-longs.
Belmont University campus borders Mornigside’s parking lot and is a beautiful walk through rose gardens, fountains, and another peaceful environment.

I simply do not have enough words to express my gratitude to Robin and Abra at Morningside. Robin has absolutely been a blessing to me and my family in the transition of our Aunt.
She has gone so far above and beyond the 'call of duty' that I know without a doubt that if they are still there when it is time for me to find a place, Morningside will be top of my list!
And it's not just the stuff that they are expected to do. It's the little things that they didn't have to do. Going and meeting my Aunt while in Rehab, taking a small 'welcome' gift, even doing a personalized webvideo so she could see what it was going to be like since she couldnt' visit ahead of time. They even put her name on her door long before she got there, so it will be 'home' to her.
And I know that behind the scenes there were so many people who got it all together that I don't even know their names. I have heard so many horror stories that I had no idea it could be this easy to help with the transition.
Robin and the staff have made it almost a 'breeze'! I already feel they are part of our extended family and I have barely known them a week!

Recently, we were looking for a nice facility for one of our best friends. From the moment we stepped into Morningside, we realized that it was the facility we were looking for. The staff was friendly, the property inside and out was clean and organized, and the convenience of moving reflected the best. The front desk personnel, Mary and Kathy, were very welcoming and helpful. Amber of Marketing and James in administration also went above and beyond in listening to our concerns. I would highly recommend this facility to others.

We appreciated all that they did for my mother in-law before she passed away. She was feisty and they were always so kind to her. When she died, my father-in law moved in and he had dementia. With their care, he soon knew where he was and remembered his room number. The staff are all very kind and seem to enjoy what they do. They have done an excellent job keeping everyone safe and healthy during COVID.
Bob Schricker
I met with Robin and received a tour of Morningside of Belmont. Many upgrades are being made to the community. The staff were all friendly and attentive. Covid safety measures were enforced. Robin was very gracious and helpful.
Carole van Almelo
I highly recommend Morningside and John. He made a difficult decision very easy. It's more than a move, it's a change of life of elders and their families- and Morningside was always considerate of that. The paperwork was minimal, easy to understand. The rules and regulations are carefully thought out and clear. The facility is awesome. But it's the staff at Morningside that sold us and have made us so happy.

Our experience with Morningside has been second to none. Our move in experience was extremely seamless. All of my concerns were addressed by John Marshall and others on staff and the experience proved to be worry free. I definitely recommend this Assisted Living facility for your love ones.

I have been a vendor for Morningside of Belmont for years. I love the staff I have worked with and see what wonderful activiities they do with the residents. Whenever I drop off and order there are residents out and about with smiles on their faces. It appears to be a great place to live!

I placed my father at Morningside of Belmont after about 30 days of research, and visits to numerous other similar facilities. Most facilities put on a big sales pitch and become average when someone actually moves in. Morningside is different. After six months, I have yet to meet a staff member who is not in a good mood. They smile, remember your name, and go about their duties with joy. If a particular individual is not there, everyone else takes up the slack. They are perhaps nicer now than before I chose them. The building lacks some of the common area space and modern amenities of newer facilities; but they more than make up for it in service and integrity. And, the price is very reasonable compared to others. Highly recommended.

I’m very impressed with the changes going on at Morningside of Belmont. The upgrades are obvious on the outside but even more importantly is the excellent leadership in this care team. These are experienced individuals that take pride in providing top notch care for their residents!

We were in an emergency situation with my brother and everyone at Morningside jumped into action to meet our needs . . I have had other relatives in AL in other parts of the country, but I have never been as pleased as I am with the staff and facilities at Morningside. We could not travel due to COVID so they jumped in and helped us get his room 'together which was above and beyond what any AL is usually asked to do. I think it was this commitment to 'helping' us out in the strange situation we were in that impressed me. Their kindness and devotion to my brother's special needs is wonderful. Just can't say enough good things about them. I guess I shouldn't write a book . . . so I'll hush but I could write one about them . . . a good book! Thanks!

I really enjoyed my experience at this facility. Everyone was so accommodating and helpful. We stayed to visit with our family member for lunch and everything was deliecious. I would like to give special thanks to Amber, she is super knowledgeable and caring. I really feel like the employees here care about the residents and enjoy their jobs.

So I worked inside the Facility Morning side of Belmont As a caregiver to one of the residences. I worked for a 3rd party not the actual facility. I was on both sides of the workers and the residences. What I saw for the entire year I stayed with this particular resident was nothing but love and support. The staff went above and beyond to make sure all the residents were taking the right meds were active in daily activities. If there was illness in the facility all of the residents were alerted so the entire building wouldn't catch it. I stayed with this particular resident over a year. Sometimes I stayed overnight sometimes not but for the time that I did stay with her we would do various actives. They had a manicure for the women every tuesday which the women absolutely loved. They also had wii bowling on Thursdays. And they even had daily exercises for those who wanted to be a little more active. I did eat there sometimes and the food was really good. They had servers come and bring the food right to you. Daniel and Kelly were the best there they were the coordinators of actives. They also had various programs where they would have university students come and visit and play music. During Christmas they had local children come play various instruments for the entire facility This was such a wonderful treat and they loved it.They made parties for the residents on various holidays so they never got left out. There were also trips in the bus to local movie theater and they would go shopping ect. I would say this was the best facility I have ever been too. Its really different when you get to be behind the scene and see how the family members and residents are treated by the entire staff. When my parrents become of age I will definitely recommend them to move into this facility.

My wife and l have lived at MOB for four years. We like the feeling of safety, security and community. The staff is cordial and helpful. The meals are tasty and healthy. It is home to us.

My parent stayed at Morningside for two weeks to try out this senior community. While ultimately, it wasn't the right fit-my parent wanted a kitchen in the apartment and does not yet need daily assistance- the staff and community were wonderful. The facility was clean and the staff was very friendly. If my parent's needs change, I would likely choose Morningside.

John Marshall was wonderful to deal with at Morningside! He was professional, warm, and kind. Morningside staff are very friendly and welcoming. HIghly recommend.

This is an amazing facility. The staff is amazing and they go above and beyond to take care of and make sure the residents are happy and healthy. I trust Morningside with my parent and would not have him in any other place.

Words can't express how easy Robin has made the transition for my aunt. We received top of the line customer service and such compassion.

Robin was thoughtful, kind, and authentic. We did not get the hard sell and as a result, Morningside will always be our first choice.

John Marshall has done a great job so far in getting my parents ready for move in. They are coming from out of state, so navigating this process could have been difficult, but John has made it easy.

Clean and inviting community! Emily, the sales director, was very kind and knowledgeable. Also, the rooms are some of the biggest in the Assisted Living industry!
