Reviews of ACR Homes - U of M office
Being an employee for ACR has changed my life! The experiences I have gained made me look at life different and also how patient care should be given. Every time I come into work I am showered with love from the residents I am taking care of. Some days it doesn't even seem like work just because I love my job that much. Every co-worker I have has my back and is just as compassionate as you would want care providers to be!
ACR Homes is an incredible place to work. As an employee, I feel like I am supported and taken care of through this company. I am a nursing student and ACR makes a point to work around my busy schedule and make me feel like I am a valued employee. In just a few short months, I have made so many great memories and connections with both my residents and my coworkers. I never would have imagined how much I would love my job here.
ACR Homes has been an incredible place to work. My supervisor is a good leader and fun to work with, my coworkers are knowledgable and responsible, and the job environment is fun and rewarding. I work with the residents of ACR Homes and help them live their lives as independently as possible. Even though I'm staff in the home, the residents treat me like a friend, and I consider them to be a pretty big part of my life. In addition to being a great job in general, the perks of the job are amazing. You can have an internship of your choosing just by being an employee of ACR, and if you're going into healthcare, the experience you get as a program counselor is outstanding and graduate schools really respect ACR Homes and the work that PCs do.
ACR is a truly awesome company to work for. I started working with ACR 5 years ago when I was in school. When I graduated with my degree, I got a job in my career field but I have stayed working with ACR a few times per month because I just can't leave them! The bond you build with the residents is very strong and you become a part of their lives. ACR also cares a lot about their employees, they do fun things all the time like free fitness classes, free field trips, job fairs, study events, free food SO OFTEN, prizes ALL THE TIME (there is alway some contest going on where employees can win $50-1000 and bonuses can reach up to $2500!) It is awesome and I never plan to leave :)
ACR Homes is a phenomenal place to work at! I genuinely enjoying my time spent working with them. They have provided me with many opportunities to further myself and help the lives of those whom I work with. Whether it is daily shifts, internships, research opportunities, or even friendships made with coworkers, this company provides experience unlike any other! Working with residents to help ensure a great quality of life and help improve themselves is one of the most rewarding aspects. ACR instills and promotes beliefs in their employees that are translated through work and daily life. Working for them is a wonderful opportunity to help others, develop yourself, and develop your career.
I have worked for ACR Homes for over 5 years. The company really cares about their employees. The job itself is very flexible and a great entry level position for anyone interested in the health care field. Its feels great to make a difference in the lives of the residents we serve.
I love working at ACR! The people and residents are so nice and it makes my day seeing them smile every day. It has provided me with a solid foundation to build my healthcare career on and I've gained valuable healthcare experience that I would not have gotten anywhere else. It's obvious that the company cares for the residents and staff and is a great place to work!
ACR Homes is a fantastic job for students looking for healthcare and direct care experience. They train employees with all the necessary skills (medical and otherwise) that are needed to perform the job requirements. The work environment is also great, with coworkers and supervisors who are friendly and dedicated to providing care for our residents in the best way possible.
When going to work is your favorite part of your day you know there's something special about what you're doing. Working at ACR has provided me with the opportunity to make a difference in the life's of the residents and for them to make an impact on my life as well. I have been able to form irreplaceable relationships and memories through ACR. The environment is full of compassion and all of the workers are devoted to providing the best care for all of the residents.
ACR Homes is a phenomenal company that not only inspires students to make differences in peoples' lives, but also offers unique opportunities that no other workplace will! I have never been so pleased with a company and its values. I would recommend ACR Homes to any individual in seek of a direct care job.
I've been working at ACR homes for the last six months and it has been one of the best decisions I've made during my college career. I was a little nervous at first, but the initial and reoccurring training was more than adequate to alleviate this and prepare me to work there. Additionally, the hours are extremely flexible making it easy to find time to work with a busy student schedule. They also have many internship and recruiting possibilities to help you gain experience in other areas if you desire. More than all of that though, they seem to genuinely care about you and are willing to provide the resources for you to succeed, not just at work but all aspects of your life.
So unbelievably grateful for the 2 years I spent at ACR Homes. While it is not the easiest job I have ever had, I can truly say that I made a difference every single day I went to work. This job helped prepare me for my future career as a physical therapist. Even though I have moved away, I still talk to my residents weekly. They have become part of my family and I wouldn’t have it any other way! Thank you ACR!
Working at ACR Homes has given me so much experience in the medical field, along with opportunities to advance within the company and to make my graduate school application look outstanding. The U of M office is great because it is close for students who don't have access to a vehicle to attend training classes at the Roseville office!
I worked at ACR for a year now and I can say that it is a great company that provides many opportunities for young people looking to gain healthcare experience. The experience and knowledge you gain from being a PC can really put you over the top in any career you wish to pursue.
My experience as a Program Counselor has been amazing, and quite frankly, nothing like I expected it to be. At first, it was quite scary. I really felt unsure of myself for about the first three months. I was constantly afraid of making mistakes, and I was still working on developing relationships with my residents. I hadn't learned the specific ways in which they like to be taken care of, so it was a huge learning curve. But, wow, am I glad I did it. My residents are some of the most amazing people I have ever met. They never cease to surprise and impress me, and they have even managed to bring tears to my eyes at times. Since starting, I have learned the basics of patient care: how to administer medications, how to run certain medical equipment, how to perform hygiene tasks for the residents, how to encourage them to grow and achieve goals, and how to cook (because I was not so good at that in the beginning). What I have indirectly learned has been so much more valuable. I have learned that there can be many obstacles in life, for example, being non-ambulatory, but that does not mean you can't cross the finish line of a marathon. (I have truly seen this occur, and believe me, this was a moment that brought tears to my eyes.) I myself and probably many other people have gone through hardships, but they can be overcome.
As an individual, I have definitely grown a lot since the beginning of my journey with ACR Homes. I think the greatest difference I have seen in myself is the level of responsibility and maturity I have gained. Learning how to take care of another individual, helping them to achieve there goals, and consoling them during the hard times has allowed me to gain a level of maturity that will ultimately prepare me for my future. I always say, the amount of difference I have made in the life of my residents is nothing compared to the difference they have made in mine.
I heard about ACR Homes through a peer of mine. I knew little about what working with individuals with disabilities would all entail, but I knew that I looked up to this individual as a mentor. She holds many of the same values as I do, and she is looking into a similar career path. Knowing that she loved working at ACR Homes and saw it as a valuable experience made me very interested in it. I chose to apply, and boy am I glad I did! I am so thankful for the opportunities that ACR homes has provided me with and the life changing experiences I have had.
I have been working at ACR for about 1 1/2 years, and I love everything that this job has provided for me! I have gained incredible experience, I have developed relationships with my residents, and I have grown so much as a person!
ACR Homes is an amazing company to work for as a college student, they are very flexible according to my school schedule and they even provide me a way to get to work without me needing to buy my own car. I have loved working here and I always recommend that everyone checks this place out because of how awesome it is.
I've been working with ACR for over a year now, and I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with the company! From my coworkers, to the residents, to my supervisors, my job has been one such that I look forward to going to work!
I love the things I learn everyday while working with my residents. They teach me how to be patient, compassionate, and reactive to any situation that can happen. I would recommend this job to anyone aspiring to be in the medical field.
