Reviews of Luther Manor
Jill Arena
God bless the staff of the health care center at Luther Manor. Her care has been so amazing that she graduated from hospice after two years of their care. Very low turnover of staff, kind, caring people and good facilities. My mother is so lucky to be here. Of course there are ups and downs but overall I am grateful every day for Luther Manor.

I have had a family member at this facility now for over three years, most of the staff members have long tenure in their positions, and they really care about their work and the nursing home residents that live their. My questions/concerns are answered in a timely matter, and most of all I feel at ease knowing that my loved one is getting quality care...would definitely recommend family members researching this facility when having to make the same decision are family had to make.

I have had the pleasure of working with Rachel and the Luther Manor Hospice staff on a professional level for 4 years. They have always been professional and answered any questions I've had promptly. I have and would recommend them to anybody needing to use their services for a loved one.

My sister was deeply depressed and attempted suicide. She was admitted to St Frances Ascension located on 13th and Oklahoma. During the time she was there, she was not responding to medications and the situation was so bad that we tried something called E.C.T., which is basically a type of electric shock therapy. The therapy worked, but left her with a deep memory loss. None of the family could stay with her during her recovery, but we found that the Lutheran Manor had a program called "The Bridge" which turned out to be a nicely furnished efficiency apartment on the same floor of the nursing staff. My sister was monitored by the staff who also monitored the pills she was taking. After 4 weeks at Lutheran Manor and "The Bridge Program", I am happy to say my sister is now back at home taking care of herself, and here memory has mostly returned. The program was designed for people who needed a place to stay while the decision was made to either go home, or go to assisted living. To my knowledge, there is not another program like this in the city. I give it 5 starts on everything. Food, Accommodations, and care.

Sherry and Laurie were awesome as my sisters and I struggled with an unexpected relocation of my parents. They understood, better than we, the challenges, having long term history in the field and personal history with their own family. It was meaningful and helpful to know they sincerely cared, had answers, knew options and were abundantly patient with all of us. Our folks are settling in and enjoying the fabulous campus, spacious apartment and many and varied activities. Thank you to Luther Manor! Thank you Sherry and Laurie!

My mother lived for 12 years at the LM Terrace, independent apts. She loved the people and staff there! They provide such a variety of activities available for those with different interests, opportunities for residents to gather or participate. During CoVid, they were conservative in practice and provided good communication to residents and family. Whenever I have contacted them with questions, I always received follow up to my satisfaction - a very caring group with best interest of the residents at heart!

Luther Manor is a wonderful place. My mother in law is 96 and has been there for seven years. We have found all the staff we have ever dealt with to be wonderful, caring, and ready to listen. The facilities are beautiful and clean. I don’t know how they do it, but you don’t smell bad odors (ex. urine smells, etc). Other nursing homes should learn from them. My mother in law is happy there and often mentions how nice the staff is. We are happy too. The nurses have even gone out of their way to FaceTime us twice during the shutdown due to the Covid-19 virus.
The guard (a retired Milwaukee police officer) at the US Government Office I worked at had a wife who worked there as a nurse for 28 years. She loved working there and he would volunteer there because it was such a positive place. He would often tell me that if he ever needed a nursing home, this is where he would want to go. As a result, when my mother in law needed a place seven years ago, we were thrilled to be able to get her in. We have never regretted that decision.

We have lived in an Independent apartment at Luther Manor for two years, and we find this life style a perfect fit for us at 84 years of age. We have made many new friends among the wonderful people who live here. We are retired musicians and have found many opportunities to continue to enjoy performing, from singing in a residents' choir to leading monthly sing-alongs and playing in an instrumental trio. We have learned to play cribbage and participate in a monthly book club and Veterans Club. We walk almost two miles every day enjoying the beautifully landscaped grounds that surround Luther Manor. We enjoy good food and interesting conversations in the dining room. We are happy we chose to move here when we did.

We had a great experience here with our dad, while he was here for rehab. He definitely got the care he needed. Everyone was so nice, and helpful.

A family friend is there and put in hospice instead of rehab. His cell phone has been missing after 2 weeks of getting it. Nobody helps him to walk. He is getting thinner and thinner since he was put on. a pain killer Fentenal that is way to strong for him and is upsetting his stomach and making him dizzyand has taken away his appetite. So he is now laying in bed all the time. We are constantly worried about him.

This is a high quality place that offers residents the security of knowing that they are not alone and will be cared for in their time of need. My father lived there recently and passed away while in onsite hospice care. The staff were attentive, caring, and respectful of his needs as well as those of our family.

Luther Manor has an outstanding facility with excellent staff, Kathleen Cleppe and Kathy Jastromski have been especially helpful with their communications with me and helping me assist in getting the best care for my family member. I highly endorse Luther Manor for their level of care and professionalism.

I love it here. I'm 76, one of the younger folks. There are many games to keep me busy. I am not a couch potato. Exercise and health clinic keep me going. My husband is in the Alzheimer ward and I live across the driveway in a one bedroom senior living apartment. Food is fabulous. Cooks took away the salt shakers in all the kitchens. Hurray! Plenty of friends, a new family of support.
Don't wait until you are too old to enjoy the benefits here.

This is a wonderful facility with friendly and personable staff. Their job is so difficult and they handle everything with such care and professionalism. We're grateful for the excellent care they give our loved ones.

Hands down the best care my dad has received for rehab. Staff is in top of everything.

I love the layout and great hospitality, although it did take about 45 minutes for a maintenance guy to get down to the family room to see if he could get a stove working. (Stove never worked afterward anyway)

Marketing and the Life Enhancement Director provided a wonderful, fun, tasty candy making opportunity. I learned about making chocolate hearts, dipping various foods in various chocolate. Every participant left with two boxes full of the great candy that was made. Luther Manor is blessed to have these three employees who give off their time and talent to enhance the lives of the residents. Thanks for a special time Deb, Mia and Amanda.
